This mascara is ideal for separating and lengthening lashes, probably the best one I've tried for this. I do need to add a couple of coats to get the desired effect and I then go over with a different mascara to thicken the lashes for a more dramatic look but this is all down to preference anyway. I would't say it was worth the full £10/£12 it cost me to buy it but that's only because mascara isn't as much of a necessity to me as other makeup items so I never usually spend as much on these that's the only reason I would not buy again (at full price).

This is by far the worst product I have ever used. It has actually made my lashes clump and fall out. I will never use this again and have told everyone I know not to use it,

L Oreal this will be the last product I buy from you, I don;t know what has happened to you guys in the last 5 yrs to makes such underrated products. I know that I am done spending as much money as I have in the past, You guys have lost it.

I have decent length eyelashes, but they are not thick at all. I was in love with this mascara when I first bought it because it gave my eyelashes that full look and separates them. But I am now on my second tube and I just don't like it as much. I now combine it with covergirl lash blast to get the best volume.

Pros
- very dark
- doesn't flake off
- gives volume
- cheap

Cons
- smudges
- packaging sucks. you HAVE to wipe off the ton of excess that comes out on the brush
- if you want dramatic lashes it will take at least 3 coats...beware of spider lashes though

One of my FAVORITE DRUGSTORE MASCARAS! This mascara gives a perfect amount of volume and makes lashes look ah-mazing! One of the best for sure! Might even beat some high end ones!

This is one of my favourite drugstore mascaras. I have naturally long and thick lashes already so I love how it amplifies them...and the jet black colour is perfect! Also, my lashes are quite dark already (aside from slightly blonde tips) so I feel that it applies nicely - not sure how it would work for a softer, lighter lash though - it may be too heavy and sticky and clump the lashes if you're a blonde or redhead.

While in HS my eyelashes were so long, thick, and very full. Now a few years after HS I have noticed them becoming less full not long anymore, very sad. Because of this I have spent lots of money these past few months on all kinds of mascara's.

I purchased this one when I noticed a friend's eyelashes, so pretty full long. Pretty much what mine use to be. This mascara is great. I apply about 3 coats and they look very nice. Obviously not what they were but very close. I would def. recommend to any friends that are having the same problem. Plus its so cheap like 5-6 bucks!

It really does what it says its going to do.

This has always been my go-to mascara. I haven't used it for a couple of years, but I had a coupon and decided to get it in carbon black.

This is terrible! Has the quality gone down, or was it always like this? For the last couple of years I have been using more high-end brands, and in contrast this is just terrible! It flakes, clumps, and is not build able at all! This is going right into the trash after three attempts of getting it right.

The only good thing I can say about it is that it is truly a deep black, and is easily removed.

Bye, L'Oreal mascara! Never gonna use you again!

Absolutely the best mascara by L'Oreal. I've been using Voluminous x5 in Carbon Black since it first came out and I will continue using it.

Pros:
- It does give volume via straightening the eyelashes and thickens them (only when you're wearing it.) If you want them to be curvy, you can use an eyelash curler.

- The most important thing in a mascara for me is its color. For a dramatic look, which I like, you NEED a really dark black mascara. Carbon Black version of this product gives that dramatic look wonderfully. I've tried ALL the other Carbon Blacks from L'Oreal's other mascaras. None of them was as dark as Voluminous's carbon black.

- Pretty cheap compare to other mascaras with the same quality.

Cons:
- Yep, there are clumps. It's mostly but not only because of the brush. To decrease the amount of clumps, you can try to put on Voluminous using L'Oreal Telescopic mascara's brush -- it doesn't end clumps completely, but decreases the amount.

- Because it really really is black, it really really is hard to clean the mascara off your lashes. I take a shower, get out and wipe my lashes with an eye make-up remover 4-5 times, yet, if I cry the next day, there is still a little black on the tissue. Still, worth for the dramatic look.

My absolute favorite mascara. I even prefer it over Mary Kay. It gives amazing length and volume and thickness with no clumps or weird fall out. It's decently priced too and available just anywhere! Don't waste your money on the spendy brands when you have all the quality here for much cheaper! I've also heard good things about their new millionous lashes mascara in the gold tube, which has a different brush.

I saw a bunch of youtube reviewers say that this was the best right now. I did like that it does seperate lashes very well and "volumizes". I curl my lashes, put 2 coats of this mascara on, then a coat of Tarte lighs camera lashes then a coat of falsies. Really does look like false, full lashes ! The problem is for me at least the staying power was terrible and it clumped so bad!

I will not be buying this again or recommending it!

This mascara was not very good at all. The color was great; it was extremely black which I like. But that's where the praise stops. It was too clumpy and the packaging, while not only ugly, didn't scrape off the excess mascara when you pull the wand out so there is too much product on the brush. It made my lashes look long but also clumpy and spidery. The formula rubbed off and left me with raccoon eyes. Plus it weighed down my eyelashes and wouldn't hold a curl. Definitely not a repurchase.

I LOVE THIS MASCARA. so glad i found it. about a year or more ago, i went to the drugstore looking for a new mascara, i was planning on either getting maybelline or rimmel. Next to Rimmel was Loreal. i noticed the Telescopic one, my friend used this , and it was really nice but more expensive than the voluminous one.
so then i saw voluminous one and it was around 4 dollars cheaper, so i bought it. i tried it and was amazed. so much volume. it can get clumpy, but i think it needs to be applied in a special way, to not get the clumps.

apply it to the lashes twice then. let it dry a little. apply another coat. i noticed that when i apply a little, then let it dry a little, and apply more after it gets less clumpy. this also adds more volume.
i bought this mascara for 12-14 at shoppers drug mart, which in my opinion is a little pricey for drugstore, but its much better than the others. it lasts all through the day.
when i wear this, everyone asks me if my lashes are real , they ask my a bunch of questions.

Ladies! do not be fooled by the ugly packaging. this mascara may not be in a bright pink tube and it may not be all that visually pleasing either- with the navy blue tube and the gold wand... but it doesn't even matter because its the best formula and will beat every other mascara by far for both length and volume. i love it... <3 and i am pretty sure you will too!

I seriously don't understand why people love this mascara. Super clumpy and weighs down lashes yuk.

This is a mediocre one for me. Despite all the good hype that it's gotten, I don't think this one does the job for me. Like everyone said, it first started off really "wet"... then the more you use it, it slowly dried down. I find that it separates my lashes wonderfully but it doesn't really volumize like it's name says it would do. I hated how this makes my lashes clumpy if I put on too much and it makes my lashes stick together. Also, it doesn't really lengthen so that alone is already a no-no for me. I think the formulation for this mascara is a ittle bit too heavy, which weighs my lashes down. The curl only lasts for like half a day and that's about it. I think I'll give this a couple brownie points though since I have really sensitive eyes and this one doesn't make my eyes irritated or watery... so YAY for that :)

It was waaay too wet when I first used it. It relaxed my curl. After a few weeks, however, it gave a very nice effect! It reminded me of Maybelline's Full 'n' soft mascara. It was very natural. Not as volumizing as the name would make one assume, but I still liked it.

This mascara is seriously on my top list along with Lancôme Hypnose mascara. They basically perform the same way, but this is way cheaper - amazing!

I have it in Carbon Black and the colour payoff is great. With just two thourough swipes, I get lots of volume. I have pretty long lashes naturally, so that's really all I need.

Definitely going to re-purchase this when my current one is dried out!

Tried so many always come back to this. It's is my hands down most amazing all time favorite. Afew things though . . .
1. People complain about this mascara being to wet/liquidy and honestly it is when first opened it takes about 3-5 days to let let it dry a little an become the perfect consistency so don't judge it based off of the first use
2. If you want an easy application swipe it on and go mascara this is not it, it can be clumpy crumbly and smudgey without proper application and it requires a little work to get it right.

That being said this is still my favorite. works amazingly in conjunction with other mascaras and also looks great on its own. I'm the kind of person who always wants to try to newest thing and rarely repurchases the same thing. I have been through countless tubes of this.

On me, this mascara is horrible. I have stubby, stick-straight, medium length, Asian lashes, and the only thing it did was clump them up and drag them down. Although it did thicken a bit, it did not hold a curl. However, I'm pretty sure it'd look great on someone with naturally curled lashes. (My lucky, long-lashed friends often speak of its 'amazing' properties..)
