I am currently taking Isotretinoin for acne and my lips were in excruciating pain from bleeding/cracking etc. After doing a little reasearch here I thought I would try this in the hopes that it would provide some relief. "WOW" is all I can say! This stuff is a miracle! I use this during the day and apply the Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment at night and in only 24 hours I've seen a dramatic difference. The menthol provided instant relief to the horrific burning sensation I was experiencing. I was constantly reapplying other lip treatments (that did nothing to help me) but with the blistex 1 application last for quite a while before you need to reapply. Not only does it work but it's super cheap too and comes in packages of 2 (in a stick form) so you are never without at work, home, purse etc. It does have a bit of a medicinal smell/taste but it does not bother me at all. THANK YOU BLISTEX...I'm a lifelong customer! I always use MA to research beauty products but I've never wirtten a review until now because I feel that strongly about the relief this provided me and it's effectiveness. If only it contained sunscreen :(

Being a die-hard skier, this is the only product I will ever use. With out this, I had the worst chapped lips ever, and it was that cracking, rubbery, unbearable feeling chapped lips. I discovered this when I forgot my chap stick at home, and bought some of this in the lodge. Best decision I have ever made. It instantly cools and heels my lips in minutes, and protects them like a boss. I put this to the ultimate test this winter, when I had a race on a 5 degree night with a -20 degree windchill, and my lips finished the night in better condition than they went in. Now I've discovered this, my bag of lip balms is useless to me, because nothing can compare to this. Whether you have wintery chapped lips, or just want incredibly soft, plump lips, this stuff is for you. Once you try this, you will NEVER go back.

I am starting to get quite discouraged as I have been trying out a lot of different products for my constantly dry lips. This product is one of the more popular and highly raved and it unfortunately does not work for me. I got it in stick form and I find that it has 0 moisturization and the product is so hard that I have to rub it really hard on my lips. Thus I despise having to use to this product. Tried it once and never picked it up again.

This is probably the best affordable drugstore lip balm out there. I've been using this since childhood since my family loved this stuff so much that we always kept it around the house, and I'd forgotten about it for a few years. But now that I'm in my early twenties, my skin in general, including my lips, can get pretty dry. My lips sometimes will crack or bleed when I smile or laugh if I'm not too careful about moisturizing them regularly. With the countless lip products I've tried from high to low end brands, I've rediscovered Lip Medex again. It does its job, penetrates and hydrates your lips right away, and keeps me lips in tip top shape for 24 hrs. No more reapplying chap stick, petroleum jelly, etc. over and over again throughout the day. I just use this at night before I go to sleep, and I don't have to worry about my lips looking chapped or anything for an entire day.

I started buying this 3 years ago and never looked back. It's incredible and makes my lips very soft. I don't even bother buying other lip balms. I keep a tube of it by my bed, in the bathroom, and in my purse. I put it on right before I go to bed and when I wake up my lips feel incredible. It doesn't taste bad like Carmex. I don't LOVE the packaging because I don't like putting my fingers in there but it's okay and doesn't change how I feel about the product itself. Also, whenever I have a cold and a raw nose from blowing it I rub a little bit of this on my sore nose.

I have been using/ been forced to use this product since I was a baby. I love it so much. I always have it with me. I am very picky about my skin care routines so I only use it every other week. the weeks im not using it im using eos lips balms.they both work incredibly. I love the tingly mintyness that comes from the menthol in it. It always helps my lips and apways will. I will contimue buying for years to comes.

This feels so soothing on my lips in the cold weather. If only it came in a tube! I use this every night before bed with a layer of petroleum jelly over it and I wake up with smooth lips! I never use any sort of lipstick or lip gloss without a lip balm under it, and this works perfectly! It prevents my lips from drying out under lipsticks and lip glosses.
UPDATE:
Okay, so I stopped using this for about a month and my lips improved DRAMATICALLY. They barely peel anymore and they feel soft and smooth. Although this product has SUCH a lovely soothing effect (from the menthol), I'm going to have to give it up. Menthol irritates lips and just dries them out. I've switched to lip products that contain moisturizing ingredients, such as shea butter. My lips have never felt softer.

I have bought this for years. Of course, as with most products, I keep buying different things, always looking for something new and different. But I always come back to this. It is very inexpensive and works very well at preventing or treating dry, chapped lips. I use this primarily as a bedtime treatment. I also like their Daily Conditioning Treatment in the peach pot. Very similar, not quite as much menthol. I much prefer this to Carmex. I think this works much better than Carmex, and it smells and tastes better, in my opinion.

Best product ever. You can feel it tingle as it seeps into the layers of your lips. It does what it claims to and does it quickly. It doesn't feel thick, isn't smelly or have a taste really. I use to use the one in the pot but hated the typical inconvenience of balms in pots eventually found the stick version and have been buying it for years.

This is a must have for cracked lips! Nothing I have tried so far will do anything to HELP or at least make your cracked lips feel better! As soon as you apply, you can feel a soothing cool feeling, your lips feel instantly better. It definitely protects as well as helps repair. I like sleeping with this product overnight and I always wake up to soft and moisturized lips. My mother is who turned me on to this product. I honestly think she is addicted to it. She has used NOTHING BUT on her lips for 20 years - she always has a stock of at least 15 of these things.. It really does help your lips to keep from cracking and drying out - and protects it from happening in the first place. For a couple dollars at just about any drugstore it is a must have esp in winter months.

Surprised that such a cheap product works so amazingly well! I always have severely chapped and flaky lips in the winter that bleed often, and this lip balm forms a protective moisturising coating that feels super soothing. I adore the minty sensation. The "secret ingredient" in this balm is actually camphor which is the same ingredient in Vick's Vapor Rub and in a popular Chinese traditional medicine healing balm. I tried searching through scientific journals to learn how camphor helps heal but couldn't find anything. I'm certain that this ingredient works though. Perhaps it's because it dilates the blood vessels which increases blood flow to the area to promote healing? Btw if a science nerd knows please PM me the answer!
Anyway, I'd definitely repurchase this product as it works as advertised.
The only cons are that it leaves a yellow film on your lips (as the balm is yellow) and some people may not like the menthol smell. I don't mind it though.

This is a classic for a reason! After wandering around and trying balms by Revlon, Burt's Bees, Charmex, Chapstick, etc., I ALWAYS come back to this balm. It just plain WORKS. I can apply a thin layer to my very chapped or "hard" (i.e. dry but not yet chapped) lips and it'll sink in immediately. It'll also give me that lovely cool, tingling sensation to let me know that it's working. It'll soften up skin enough that I can exfoliate after a few minutes if I have flakes of skin that I want to get rid of.
Nothing else on the market is nearly as effective as this product. The best part is that it's both cheap and sold EVERYWHERE, so it's not hard to find! I do wish that this specific product came in a pressed tube packaging so I don't have to dip in my finger, but considering I've gone through 3 tubs of this and still go back for more, I clearly don't mind that much.

I love this stuff. I got it at Family Dollar for $1. I'm actually surprised I like it so much since I don't like most other blistex products, like the fruit smoothies and the raspberry lemonade blast. It kinda reminds me of carmex but so much better. And it doesn't smell as bad. Also, I don't really like the jar packaging, but it's worth it for such a good product.

I really like this. I have all the blistex balms and i have no complaints. It smells kinda like vicks, but once it's on your lips it's not noticeable. It leaves my lips soft and smooth and heals them whenever they are chapped, especially in the winter time. I wouldnt recomment slapping this on if youre on youre way to your boyfriends house because it doesnt taste very good, but it's a great balm that I love to apply daily. I like to apply it most before i go to sleep because when i wake up my lips are nice and soft, then i can use my Nivea lipbalm for the day.

I used to have really bad cold sores. Using Blistex to the area, it doesn't grow or become more red, and it goes away quickly. I use a q tip to apply. My lips don't get very dry or cracked, but if they would, this would definitely work. It's a nice feeling. It has a bit of a medicinal smell which is fine.
