This is my HG mascara! How have I not written a review for it yet? I'm always raving about it on the mu board. Anyway, this is the only mascara I've actually repurchased, but the cheap 4-bucks-a-pop price tag is nothing to complain about. Plus, Walgreens and other drugstores often have Jane BOGOF sales. I like this mascara so much because it gives me the most defined, voluminous lashes without the clumping 'spider eyes.' The little tube is cute too.

Overall it does what it says. It does thicken lashes due to these little fibers the actual formula has. It somewhat lengthens due to these fibers as well. These fibers are are small and look like fine little hairs. You have to wait to apply more coats until the previous coat dries or else it will look very globby and spider-y. The only problem I have with this mascara is the tube. The wand (the actual stick with the brush at the end) comes out LOADED with mascara, so it can get pretty messy if you're not careful. The end of the brush gets very globby as well when you pull it out of the tube. Its almost as if they forgot that attachment at the top of the mascara tube to remove the excess. I got this on sale at walgreens for about 2 dollars and some change, but I dont think I would get it at regular price. I'm sure I could find a better drugstore mascara that wont be all gloopy.

This mascara is garbage. It didn't do anything for my lashes at all. In fact, it was like it wouldn't even go on my lashes. It was dry and clumpy. It was a waste of money.

I used this stuff when I was like, 13, and first started wearing makeup. When [our] Walmart stopped carrying Jane products, I just switched to other brands, but nothing really wow'd me. Then, while browsing Walmart makeup isles while out-of-town, the display of Jane products caught my eye, and I snatched up Jane Hi-Fiber mascara. I lovelovelove the little tube, it's so cute and convenient. The brush it perfect too, even though it's got an odd shape, it manages to reach every lash. The price? Unbeatable. I think I paid less than $3.50. This mascara is the best I've ever tried. Within the first coat, my lashes were lengthened with the perfect amount of volume. Second coat they were long, with a little volume; very natural looking. It'd probably take a while to get mega-lashes from this itty bitty tube, but for girls who are looking for a natural, or even semi-dramatic lash look, this stuff is a great deal. Unfortunately, I think it'd been discontinued because I haven't seen it in stores in months.

Well I bought this product after reading the reviews and I must say, it was very disappointing. I put it on and it made no difference whatsoever. My eyelashes looked exactly the same and so back to the store it went. It wasnt that soft and a little bit clumpy. I didnt leave it on long enough to see if it would flake, but I would not recommend this product. I have long lashes with a slight curl, and I was looking for a little extra volume and this product did not deliver.

No good. Don't waste your money. It has little fiber things which hurt like Crazy if they get in your eyes and it is really clumpy and chunky. The brush has a wierd curve that is annoying. Won't buy again.

Dry. Clumpy. Useless. I think it was recommended in Jane magazine or something. Save your money.

I love this mascara, but not on its own. I like to use this over a coat of a different mascara. It adds a lot of length this way because the little fibers adhere to your first coat of mascara. This mascara also has the most wonderful smell, it kind of smells like a blooming apple tree to me (weird I know). I have repurchased this several times because it is so cheap!

The is one of only two fiber mascaras that I've tried, the other one being Imju's Fiberwig. Like Fiberwig, this gave me noticably longer lashes (about 1-2mm) and is hard to layer with other mascaras. Unlike Fiberwig, this has a smell (like ballpoint pen ink) and it has a reasonable amount of volume, so my lashes don't look thin and wispy. Overall this isn't my favorite mascara, but it's a decent fiber mascara. UPDATE: I was hoping that the smell would air out, but it hasn't and it really bothers me. I ended up just having to throw this out.

Dry, clumpy mascara. There are such better drugstore mascaras out there--don't waste your money on this one. Maybelline's XXL is a great fiber mascara that does the job and is not hideously dry.

Based on a review on Paula Begoun's website and on the low price, I picked up the Waterproof version in Basic Black. It was my daily mascara for a few months, so it obviously wasn't *too* bad.. it just wasn't quite good enough for me to want to buy it again.
To give some context, my lashes are dark brown, average length and thickness.

*Pros: Very easy and quick to apply -- just one swipe should be all that you need (but make sure to scrape some of the product off of the brush; see con #1), and it dries fast (since it's rather dry to begin with).
The length and thickness are a little bit more than natural-looking, but not too dramatic.
Will last for a decent portion of the day, but definitely not long-wearing, and will need to be freshened up after, at most, 6 hrs.

*Cons: You *must* wipe the brush before applying, otherwise it will go on very clumpy.
It is indeed waterproof in that it won't run but, when wet, it is very easy to smudge, and the resulting smudginess is almost impossible to get off of your skin.
While waterproof, it doesn't seem to be humidity-proof. After being in highly humid/steamy conditions, I'd find that I resembled a football player.
It will flake; not overwhelmingly, but still.
It tends to give you Tammy-Faye lashes if you try to apply multiple coats.
Maybe it was just the Basic Black was too dark a shade for my coloring, but sometimes I felt that it *looked* like I was wearing mascara.

I'm reviewing the trial-sized Hi-Fiber in Black that I received as an extra in a swap. I don't understand the low rating. I find it to be a fairly decent mascara. Even though mine wasn't waterproof, it didn't stain the area below my eyes as much as other non-waterproof mascaras from l'oreal and maybelline did. It lengthened my lashes quite a bit. No major globs, no clumping. The tiny tube fits nicely into my purse. Love it!

This mascara was great the first couple of times I used it. Gave great length, volume, no clumpy, etc. However, it quickly dried out, which made all the little fibers fall into my ultra-sensitive eyes. Ouch!

I absolutely love this mascara. I can't believe how many so-so reviews it has. I bought a couple trial size versions for about 50 cents a piece along with Jane's Fan Club (which I didn't like nearly as much). It really lengthens my lashes and when applying extra coats it builds quite well. I love how it's not too "wet" because I have eyes that slant down a little and usually if I blink my eyelashes touch the corners of my eyes and other wetter mascaras (like Great Lash) smudge on my skin if I just applied it. I will totally buy this again.

ugh, horrible. I really try to look for the good in every mascara, but this one is useless. My lashes = long but sparce, very straight. I need a mascara to be on the wet side to work the best, but a dry one can work in some circumstances, so I am not totally biased. The biggest problem was that I couldn't get any of the product to deposit on my lashes, no matter how many times I kept re-dipping the wand. I finally gave up after like five minutes on one eye. I had hight hopes, the packaging is nice and minimal, pretty attractive. But it was not to be; I'm back to Rimmel.

I have this in Aubergine, and the color is great but not as good as YSL Effet Faux Cils in Dark Violet or Lorac Aubergine mascara, but pretty good for a d/s product. I especially like the high fiber formula, similar to Mac's though Ive never tried since their colors are only black. Jane really gives you as much quality as you can get for the price of the product, from trying some of their other cosmetics. ALl of their shades are sure to be flattering on many women.

I love this mascara, especially for the price. It manages to make my eyelashes super thick and super long with the fibres. I do find that it can flake sometimes but that's not a big deal to me. I have this in black and purple. With the purple, I use it underneath a plain black mascara just to make it a little more interesting. And Jane doesn't test on animals either. Yippee!
