After reading the reviews and seeing how pricey this foundation is, I was expecting better result than I received. It goes on evenly and blends well but so do a number of drugstore foundations, I just didn't understand the hype, it was average at best, certainly didn't see a "glow", meh. I will go back to my Clinique foundation.

I don't get the hype around this foundation! It is only OK for me..... Evens out skin tone but it doesn't make me GLOW which is what I am really looking for.

This is my "splurge" foundation, and as such I haven't had a new bottle in over 3 years. I decided to bite the bullet after getting some unexpected $ around the holiday, and I'll stretch it out as long as possible.
This formula was meant to emulate the finest of textiles "face fabric", as it is described. Indeed it does feel very silky, glides over the skin with ease and blends beautifully. One caveat: if you're oily? Lasting Silk will be your best bet; this will make your face one greasy mess. For older women like myself who are experiencing painful dryness this will be a great ( if pricey) panacea. That brings me to the description of my skin/ complexion for reference: dry, dry, dry! I'm talking heavy face balm and sweet almond oil to prep beforehand, and I can apply layers and layers before it feels supple again. I also suffer from rosacea; I had no idea what was going on though I have some medical background. It seemed as though I got sunburned and never recovered from it. My optometrist of all people diagnosed it as I have the dry eye that can accompany the facial inflammation.
So, I'm very self conscious of my facial redness and need something to cover AND hydrate without feeling as though I'm wearing a mask, and LSF works beautifully on both counts.
I couldn't recall what shade I used in the past- I think I bought mine at Saks previously and as it was years ago I haven't the foggiest. I decided to go with Sephora's shade match; I'm 127 in the MUFE HD stick ( also great for dry skin and on the go), NC25, C2 in MAC and SX06 in Kevyn Aucoin. I was matched with 4.25 "light skin with peachy undertones" ( you'll see from my profile photo I'm a natural redhead) and it is a pretty decent match. It looks scary at first ( VERY warm/ peach) but blends in and looks natural after it "sets".
I feel like I've written a book already, but this is my system of layering: moisturizer, primer ( I like Becca Backlight for the glow- at 43 I need all the glow I can get!) then foundation applied with either a BeautyBlender or Tarte foundation brush. I go over dark circles/ eye bags ( I have serious luggage) with concealer ( usually Hourglass or UD Naked Skin) THEN set with Sonia Kashuk glow powder ( great dupe for NARS LRP). I only get oily on my lids and nose, so I'll use blotting papers or touch up with powder and it will last all day.
So in closing, pros and cons:
Pros: great for dry and/or mature skin, comes in a pump dispenser, fair amount of shade options, feels light yet coverage is adequate.
Cons: price, availability ( my local Sephora doesn't carry it), glass bottle, definitely not ideal for anyone combination to oily or oily.

I tried this after reading a number of twitter feeds from MUAs about using this for older clients. Closing in on 60 but with oily skin, I figured it was worth a try. I had switched from Chanel Lift (don't remember the exact name) and had gone to using Revision Intellishade Matte TM. I do still like Revision but it doesn't have much coverage.

I had to go to another town to find a GA counter but it was worth it. My match was 4.25. It felt nice from the start and even without primer (over some Olay serum) it glides on and stays put. To me, it floats over wrinkles and pores in a way that several Chanel and other foundations did not (Chanel Vita Aqua whatever was horrible on me, croneing me out totally).

Transfer is minimal. I don't really notice it when it's on, which means I'm not seeing a lot of oxidation or settling during the day. I do set it with a dusting of translucent powder but could probably get away without that step.

The samples given were awesome...the luminous blush in 300 was a perfect addition to the foundation, 3-4 dots sheering out and giving a healthy flush. I'm also liking the mascara as well.

No breakouts, no settling in oily pore pools, no turning funny colors, it doesn't pill when I add liquid blush, and a match to my slightly pink-neutral super-fair tone. It is pricey but I've easily had $62 worth of DS foundation sitting around at any one time, so I'm happy.

Wanted to love this product and I did initially love the coverage and look but it really slipped off my face even though I had powder and fix spray on top. Haven't worn it more than 3 times since purchasing and returned to wearing Estée Lauder double wear light. I bought shade 5.5 which was a great colour, on a quest to find a great primer and then maybe I'll try the foundation again.

I am returning this. It's touted as being luminous - it's not. It's way too much coverage for my taste and not luminous at all. Shows all my pores. Almost looks cakey on me. Not a look I strive for. Sorry GA

I love this product! The texture is quite light, but has a good coverage compared to other foundations which is just as light in the texture. The color range is good, i found a color which fits me perfect( and that is hard for to find for me). The pump is sooo easy to use, because you can easily pump out as little or much as wanted. I tend to have oily skin, and i mostly dont get as oily or shiny as i have experienced with other foundations i have tried, and with a good primer it is not a problem at all. It is a bit expensive, but you dont have to use so much of it, so a bottle will go for a long time and will be totally worth the money.

This foundation is great . It offers medium coverage, it's very light on the face and gives you a silk finish and glow. For me it works better during summer, but I use it on winter sometimes along with other foundations when I want fuller coverage.

Really did not like this foundation. I found it to be really cakey on me, drying, and made me look white as a ghost in flash photography. I didn't even finish the bottle so it was a waste of money.

I am really satisfied with this foundation. As the name already says, it has a luminious fininish which is a must for a mature and dry skin. Lovely...
