This reminds me of a watered-down version of Weleda Skin Food. It has that same tacky/sticky texture once applied to the skin, but isn't nearly as strong smelling as the Skin Food. It's nice and moisturizing, but I wouldn't use it during the day under makeup. For me, this is a strictly PM-use only product. I like this, but after I use up my sample I won't be buying the full-sized product. It also has a tendency to separate into an oily film and a white cream, which I suppose is a sign of its "naturalness".

EDIT 11/2/11: unfortunately, as time went on, i have become less and less impressed with, not only this mask, but the whole Dr. H line.. I have not come across anything terrible but nothing I've tried seems to give continuous results. I still like this mask and use it occasionally but have products that are equal, if not better (and usually cheaper too). So, for these prices, I definitely expect more.
Original Review: love love. usually i don't even bother washing it off. maybe just tissue off the excess. my eye area and sometimes upper lip area will get extremely dry. i love using face masks (and have many many) and although what i use on the rest of my face depends on what mood i'm in and what my skin needs, the one constant (always always!) is the good Dr. Hauschka spread over my whole eye area. My skin just drinks this up. I can see it sinking right in as it goes on white and within a few seconds it's turning clear and the layer i put on gets thinner and thinner; my skin is very very thirsty. ( jeez.. i'm sounding like Jimmy-Two-Times from Goodfellas..) I have seen this line for ages and for some reason never bought anything from it. Once i bought this mask (just under a month ago) i was in love!, and now have tried and also fell in love with 2 other products.. and i'm guessing there will be more additions.. erm.. as finances allow. A bit pricey.. but one of the few things i can say is worth the pennies! (more like "worth the $20 dollar bills..") I have already recommended this to friends and even my mother.. now sharing is another thing.. hehe, j/k

Lovely mask for parched skin!

Quick absorbing and non-irritating.

Great for the colder months.

Love this product. I use it once a week, too expensive more more often than that. The only problem is that the tube is so little and the price is so high. Otherwise a great product.

I tried a trial size of this (0.34oz at £5.95) when I suddenly experienced really dry skin having had a reaction to a shampoo. Without a doubt, this is truly a miracle product as it turned my skin back to its normal state within a couple of days. I don't have dry skin but still use this once every 7 - 10 days. You can really see a difference in your skin afterwards. It leaves your face feeling beautiful, and with no greasiness. This is a hero product.

I recieved this as a sample in a facebook promotion.

It's nice, but for me, nothing special.

Good consistency, but left a film on my skin which took an age to remove. Felt as though the "moisture" was just sitting on top of my skin rather than actually doing anything.

Perfect!!!
Skin looks healthy! The better mask I have ever used!
I put the day cream before as a serum. I use this mask every day as my daily moisturazing. I wait few minutes before apply hauschka's fundation (00).
My skin is perfect!!! I have tried a lot of brand (Guerlain, biotherme, clarins, lauder...) before Hauschka with no success. Don't put your money in chemical products.
Hauschka is a secure value.

Sorry for my english. ;)

My skin is heavily treated with Retin A and lactic acid. To help calm and rejuvenate it, I alternate this mask as an overnight treatment with Clarins Huile Santal. I have just discovered jojoba oil and started mixing a pea sized amount of Dr. H with an equal amount of the jojoba and slathering it all over my face and neck. It feels fabulous. No breakouts. I prefer it mixed with the jojoba because straight from the tube it's thicker than Elmer's glue! Plus it's really expensive and I'd rather use a little bit everyday than alot less often.

I was told by the SA to use this as a daily moisturizer. At that time I had problems with dry skin even in the summer and impurities. My skin really isn't perfect now, but after I switched to only Dr. Hauschka products it's perfectly moisturized.

This is a brilliant moisturising product. It's very rich, so a little goes a long way; just a few tiny dabs are enough for an everyday moisturiser for my entire face. I've also used it as a mask overnight (contrary to Dr Hauschka's anti night cream philosophy) and woke up to incredibly soft, plump, glowing skin. It certainly does as it claims and is one of the few moisturising products I've used that actually makes a noticeable and long-lasting difference to my skin's condition.

Despite the efficacy of this product, I doubt I'll repurchase for a long time as it is prohibitively expensive ($90, or $3 per mL) in Australia. As a student who works very limited hours, I simply wouldn't have enough money to live off if I bought this regularly.

this mask is a MUST-HAVE for anyone with dry skin in the winter. It's getting cold and windy in texas and i've had days where I literally can not move my face upon getting home at the end of the day. I just slap the mask on my face, wait 15-30 minutes and I wipe it off gently with cotton balls or just rinse it off. After, my skin is elastic, plump, glowing and just rejuvenated. My skin just looks great. I'm a poor college student so I have to get this on ebay since it's about $48 in stores. Highly recommended!

I decided to give this a try after reading all the positive reviews here. I have sensitive skin that gets really dry in the winter, but most heavy moisturizers I've tried haave caused break-outs and/or clogged pores, so I'm stuck with a moisturizer that isn't anywhere near hydtrating enough for my skin. Anyway, I decided to mix in a little bit of the Moisturizing Mask in my daily skin care routine, and so far it seems to be working well. No break-outs or any kind of bad reaction, which is unusual for my skin. It reacts to almost anything. My skin looks healthy and all the dry patches have magically disappeared :) I'm taking off one lippie because of the price though, this is insanely expensive... $63 I had to pay here in Europe, I almost had a heart attack when the cashier told me the price. The tube will probably last me forever though since I only use a tiny amount mixed in with my regular moisturizer, and I don't use it as a regular mask, but I'm not sure if I'll repurchase.

Phenomenal treatment for dry sensitive skin. It doesn't irritate or sting, and the effects really seem to last. I won't ever be without a tube in fall & winter. Maybe even as a treatment for retinoid overkill, too.

I've only used this once, so maybe this is premature - but like some other reviewers I'm struggling with facial eczema, and this mask is an absolute saviour. In my experience Dr H Rose Day Cream is one of the few skin-care products that really supports and heals eczema if used regularly. This mask is more in the line of emergency relief - perhaps not for everyday use - but the deep hydrating effect and waxy barrier really seem to have given my skin the break it needed. Definitely more effective than topical steroids. Another fantastic Hauschka product.

Great cream mask !! My skin was thinned out from using AHA & Lactic Acid d/t liver spots. This mask not only moisturizes but make the skin appears denser (only us oldsters know what it feels like). I only get this kind of dense/bouncy skin from products with wax ... put on my reading glasses & check the listings ..... yes ....
There are other products with wax but the combing ingredients are always too greasy (Burt Bee). With this, I put on a generous layer in the evening, blot off excess when I am ready for bed. In the morning, even the crow's feet appeared less prominent.
Unlike other cream/moisture mask, this product is not water soluble, I really wouldn't recommend to those whose prone to break-outs, or even with normal/dehydrated skin. This is heavy-duty stuff.
EDIT: I find using this as an eye cream, just use a small amount, it will be absorbed thruout the night and woke up with moist plump skin.

I suffer from extremely dry and sensitive skin. For a while I used Dr. Hauschka's moisturizing mask and it was the only thing that would somewhat moisturize my skin. My skin is so dry that I didn't use this as a mask but as a day and night moisturizer (I didn't pat it or wash it off). It's a little pricey for the little tube (especially since I was using it as an twice a day moisturizer) but I stuck to it for awhile. After my second tube, my skin started to kind of itch and it seemed to be from the moisturizing mask so I stopped using it. I think I could be allergic to one of the ingredients and that was the problem but overall my experiences with this product were excellent. It's very calming and moisturizing and has a pleasant clean scent to it. If my skin wasn't so allergic to everything I would definitely purchase this again!

(NOTE: This pertains to the newly formulated moisturizing mask. I never tried the original so I don't know how it compares, but I'll post both ingredients lists for reference at the end of this review.)

My skin has been particularly dry and chapped this Winter season - to the point where my Nuxe Hydrating Mask wasn't doing the job anymore. Thank goodness for this mask - it gave my skin the long drink of moisture that it needed. I apply a thin layer all over, wait 20minutes and rinse using a soft washcloth. Bye bye scaly skin -- hello smooth and supple! I'm thinking of mixing a dab of this into my regular moisturizer to bump up the hydration factor. I like that it doesn't have a particularly strong herbal scent like most of Dr. Hauschka's products, and best of all my sensitive skin does not itch or break out from the product. ~~~INGREDIENTS (new formula) : water * quince seed extract * sunflower seed oil * glycerin * sweet almond oil * avocado oil * olive oil * alcohol * shea butter * lanolin* polyglyceryl-3 polyricinoleate * beeswax * jojoba oil * lecithin * sucrose distearate * rose wax * fragrance (parfum) * citral, geraniol, citronellol, linalool, limonene (from natural essential oils) * candellila wax * propolis wax

I bought a sample of this in desperation when my skin was recovering from a breakout of eczema and was dry and flaky. Coupled with the rest of the Dr H line which I am using anyway (in particular the Rose Cream) this helped make my skin feel more moisturised and less tight and uncomfortable. Didn't cause me to break out either.
Think I prefer the Rejuvenating mask for my skin normally but this was better as a remedy for dry uncomfortable skin.
