I have fine hair, down to my shoulders, letting color grow out. I was looking for something to protect my hair from my everyday blow drying habit. I read great reviews about this and decided to try it. I just can't get the hang of how to use it! I tried a pea size amount on my towel dried ends and my hair felt creamy and gross all day. I diluted a table spoon of it in 1/4 cup water in a spray bottle and sprayed it on my hair. It left my hair soft and shiny but did nothing for the frizz. Don't think it was worth $12. Maybe I'll try it as a regulate conditioner in the shower.

This is one of the best leave-in conditioners I have tried. Leaves hair super smooth and shiny. It also contains sunscreen so it protects hair from sun too. Love it.

I really like this product. It made my hair feel really nice, and it seemed to tame the frizzies (I have curly hair). The smell is wonderful! When I was out of this kind, I actually bought the kind specifically for colored hair, which is good, but the texture is more runny and the smell isn't as yummy, but its still nice. Overall, this is a great leave-in conditioner. Not too heavy and does a good job.

I saw a YouTube video a while back from someone who adored this product. I just happened to come across a HUGE bottle of it on sale for $10 so I just had to give it a try. At first I did not like the product. I thought it made my hair feel waxy, tangled and greasy. I buried it in the bathroom closet for months but then I decided to give it another shot. I've grown to like this product, but it took a while to figure out what works best for my hair. First of all, I only apply this if I'm washing my hair in the morning. I don't know why, but if I wash my hair at night, then apply this, it becomes waxy and tangled, impossible to deal with in the morning. Another thing is that I find it works better if I blow dry my hair. If I let my hair air dry, again, it get's waxy and tangled. You really only need the tiniest amount, a dime-sized squirt is more than enough. And make sure to only apply to the very ends of your hair, and only on damp hair. Otherwise it's a greasy mess. When used properly it really makes my hair soft, smooth and shiny :) So overall, I'm satisfied with the product now that I've figured out what works best for my hair type. But it definitely is a finicky product and I don't use it everyday for that reason. I only use it every few days, I use a regular conditioner the rest of the time. I'm pretty sure I will not have to repurchase for a looooooong time. I've been using the 1L for a year now and I've barely made a dent in it!

I absolutely love this product. I use it every time my hair starts to feel like straw. I wash and blow dry my hair every single day (I know I'm not supposed to but my hair feels gross if I don't), so it's pretty damaged. If I use my flat iron like 3 days in a row, my hair will feel like straw on the 4th day (even though I use a heat protectant). However, after I use Rusk's Smoother my hair is super soft and smooth and will stay that way until I over-use my flat iron again. It really is a miracle product. I love it and recommend it to anyone with dry damaged hair.

I have a HUGE bottle of this that I got at marshalls a while ago for 9.99. I like this stuff..a lot! It is very thick for a leave in conditioner and almost looks like you could use it as a rinse out if your hair is fine or normal. I find that just putting in a dime size amount to the midshaft down is the way to go. I have also found that it helps soooo much more with detangling if I put this in while my hair is damp and then put my hair up in a towel for a few mins (or more) to let it really soak in. When I take off the towel my hair is so much easier to comb through. I have also mixed this with water in a spray bottle and used it as a light leave in detangler..works great that way too. I am finding many uses for it b/c the bottle is so big that i may go bald b4 I actually use it all up! Anyway, another surprise keeper from Rusk!..so glad they carry them at Marshalls and TJMAXX. Idk if I would have tried their products at full price.

This product is a life saver for my hair. Leaves my hair soft, silky, light, totally conditioned and looking and feeling healthy. This is by far the best condtioner I have experienced, its was recommended by my hairdresser and it is perfect. My hair is relaxed very long and straight so the large size is so convenient for me..Love love love this one.

The BEST leave-in conditioner hands down! I have overprocessed, dry and fine hair. I was worried it would feel weighed down but not at all. This stuff transforms my hair! I <3 Rusk!

This seems to be the closest match I can find for this product, the leave in conditioner I'm reviewing is called Rusk Sensories Brilliance Conditioner with grapefruit and honey. To be frank, I'm not wild about it. The adult leave in conditioners I've used in the past were some all natural thing that a friend passed on to me and Davines Dede delicate leave in mist; I specify adult because I totally remember my mom using No More Tears on me when I was a kid, haha. Even though I still cried, I'd still take it - or either of the other two products - over this. Honestly, it doesn't seem to do much conditioning nor does it even help much with the tangles. And since I have curly, tangle-prone hair, I need all the help on that front that I can get. Thankfully, I bought this product at Marshalls and so it didn't make that big a dent in the wallet. Because I'd actually rather use no conditioner than this conditioner - which is why it's lasted me so long. :(

My latest and greatest discovery. I am all about leave-in conditioners and this one is fabulous! Great scent, good slip. My only gripe is that it doesn't make my hair as shiny as some of my other faves (ABBA, FF Straight Away). Maybe I just need to work with it more. Definite re-purchase.

I have used this product for over 10 years and can't live without it. Every time I run out I get panicked and it's been harder and harder to find. I worry that at some point it won't be there! I have tried many different products (It's a 10, Paul Mitchell, Nexus, Alterna, Redkin, drugstore products, etc.) and nothing smooths/conditions my hair like it. I have very fine hair that also gets very curly and frizzy in humidity. I will use this product forever!

I tend to have a love-hate relationship with Rusk products. However, this one is a keeper!!! Leave in conditioners tend to impart either moisture or body (control); it’s rare to find one that helps with both. This product fits the bill. Dry hair settles down a bit- not perfect, but improved. Though what really excites me about this leave in is the control aspect. Straggle and separation of my fine, fly away hair has noticeably decreased; when I swing my head- it all flows together! Application amount is a matter of trial and error, but definitely key to obtaining the desired result. For example, on my fine, BSL hair I literally apply just a squirt. Then I rub my hands together and with a thin layer of the product remaining on my hands, I smooth it over my towel-dried hair from ears to ends. I’ve found it best to avoid the crown and root areas. I would recommend this product as long as you’re not heavy-handed because it can make hair greasy if applied excessively.

I love this product and I would buy it again. It makes my biracial hair very soft. It doesn't define but it definitely softens. I apply it to towel dried hair and let it dry completely. Then I blow-dry or flat iron and it comes out great, full bodied and soft. I love it. Jut be careful not to use too much. The idea is to coat your hair lightly not to saturate it. I love the smell also. It is so refreshing.

I love the scent and love how it instantly softens my otherwise thick coarse hair. Sadly one bottle doesn't last very long (I also have like 20 pounds of hair, so it could just be me). My hair naturally looks fried and damaged, even when I haven't been abusing it, and this product single-handedly rejuvenates my hair to looking healthy again. Love it and would absolutely recommend it.

I have been using this on and off for years. I have fine hair that is super dry and damaged. This is one fo the only products I have found that detangles my hair without weighing it down or making it feel greasy. The smell is really light and not overpowering. The bottle lasts a long time. I do not notice any smoothing effects (as the name implies). It just mainly allows me to get the tangles out of my hair and leaves it soft.

I used this for awhile then realized about half way through the bottle it didn't really do much. Garnier leave in or mane n tail work just as well for a fration of the price.

I really like this stuff. I use this when my hair is damp. I noticed it works better when I use less product than a huge amount. It's moisturizing and it keeps my hair smooth. The smell is amazinggggg. I find this inexpensive because it lasts forever. I'll be repurchasing.

I bought this product almost two years ago when my hair was shorter and curlier; I used it per instructions but was not overly impressed with the results. 6 months ago I had my first child and truly, my hair texture has changed from fine curly to fine wavy. My "curls" are much looser and more wavy, and the length is longer than before - down to the middle of my back. I took the Rusk bottle off the shelf & decided to give it another whirl for the fun of it and I LOVE IT!! Last night I washed my hair with JASON Thin to Thick shampoo and JASON Biotin conditioner, towel-patted my hair and added a small pea-size amount of RUSK Smoother leave-in conditioner and let my hair air-dry before pulling it up in a loose bun for bedtime. This morning I woke up to beautiful soft shiny frizz-free waves, and the weather is rainy and muggy today!! I can run my fingers through my hair and finger style for touch-ups thru the day. Fabulous product, I'm glad I decided to re-try it.

PROS: Smelled really good and is light weight

CONS: Didn't do anything for my relaxed 4C hair, didn't help with detangling either
