Super lovely product, really helps keep the frizz down for me. It smells lovely, and you only need a little bit. I wash my hair every other day, and it does a fine job of keeping my hair looking nice and shiny on the nonwash days. :D

First off, I totally agree with the other reviewers about this containing harsh sulfates, that said the more I used this with the Super rich cond. the more I liked this. Ok, it's not "gentle" but I will tell you this as someone who suffers with dermatitis it's extremely hard to find shampoo's that do not irritate this condition and honestly it doesn't bother mine at all. I noticed also combining this with super rich cond. has made my hair healthier overall. Only huge downside is the price...super expensive, but you seriously only need a dab of this.

Firstly, I don't find this shampoo to be especially gentle. I prefer to use shampoos that are sulfate-free because I find that my my hair is shinier, stronger and less dry without them.
All that said, I really love this shampoo for washing away oil treatments. Once every few weeks, I put coconut oil in my hair and leave it for a day or two. Sometimes I'll even leave the oil in for up to four days. The sulfate-free shampoos I typically use wouldn't be able to get the oil out, but this shampoo does a great job. Compared to other shampoos I could use to remove oil, this shampoo is gentler. It gets all of the treatment out of my hair without undoing all the good things the oil did for my hair.
I do think this shampoo is expensive, but a bottle lasts me at least a year when I use it like this, so it's not so bad.

For a product to call itself "gentle" I would think it would not have ANY Sodium Laureth Sulfates OR Ammonium Lauryl Sufates and this shampoo has both! Sodium Laureth Sulfates I can deal with as it is not as damaging as the Ammonium. ALS causes your hair and scalp to be so stripped that it will cause dandruff in many people. Which then they will then try to combat with Selsun Blue or some prescription dandruff shampoo when really it was the Ammonium Laurel Sulfate that was causing the dandruff all along. I am highly skeptical of the people who reviewed this shampoo as "not stripping" their hair. I would imagine these people have very oily hair to begin with so it works for them. Definitely not a shampoo for dry damaged hair which it is wrongly marketed for. And for the price? I would expect them to not contain the same ingredients that are in your cheap bargain drug store brands like VO5 and Pantene. This lathers so well because it has both of these sulfates in it. So it is not "concentrated". It is just high in damaging sulfates. I really wish people would read the ingredients of their shampoos then research them on the net because in this technological time there is NO REASON for anyone to not know stuff. (and just believe whatever the label says or whatever they are told). One of my biggest pet peeves but I segued here, I think the best thing Bumble and Bumble are great at is their marketing as they have ingeniously marketed run of the mill, cheap ingredients passing them off as high end ingredients when that is just not the case.

I have been using this for the past 3 months. It has been very gentle to my color treated, curly hair. It is concentrated so a little can go along way.I would definitely recommend.

This is absolutely my FAVOURITE shampoo. I LOVE the smell, the way it lathers and the fact that it rinses well out of my hair. My hair rinses smooth, NOT tangled !
But why Bumble and Bumble, must you be so ridicioiusly over priced ? :(

Love the smell of this product and while it is gentle I find it a bit stripping for my hair. I recently moved from the wet part of our state (Washington) to the dry part and find I need a bit more moisturizing in my shampoo so I save this one for when I'm visiting the west, or as we say in the east, the wet side of the mountains. Still it is a solid B&B product.

I love this shampoo! It's smells great, it cleans my hair without stripping, and it's super concentrated. It's pricey, but its worth it and you don't need much. I recently tried Peter Thomas Roth's shampoo, and I think I may like it better than this, but I still love it. It's defintely one of my HG daily shampoos. Would recommend and would repurchase!

I like this shampoo very much, too bad it's so expensive. I don't mind the smell at all. It's very gentle and I only have to use a little bit. I switch my low end shampoos with this one once in a while and I think my hair is happy with that!

EDIT 03/28/12---I will absolutely NOT repurchase any B&B products until they choose to quit misleading their customers about animal testing and fully commit to a no animal testing policy.
This is probably the best shampoo I've used for my fine, thick hair. It cleans without weighing it down. I am thoroughly impressed with this line. My only teensie-tiny complaint is the scent. It is kinda banana-y and any artificial banana type scent literally makes me sick to my stomach. Other than that it lathers beautifully, rinses well, and is very gentle. I will continue to buy in spite of the smell.

I just cannot figure out why this product is rated so high on every review board that I view. To me, this is just not a moisturizing shampoo for dry hair (this is how it is advertised). My hair is really not dry to start. It totally dried my hair out. It felt crunchy. I know at least 5 to 6 more friends who echo the same opinions. I have tried all of B & B's shampoos and the one that is moderately bearable to use is the their Quenching Shampoo. Maybe this has been reformulated in the recent past. You could not give me this shampoo.

I purchased a small bottle of this shampoo because I wasn't sure if I would like it. It does lather well and cleans well but for the price it doesn't feel rich and I don't like the smell. The scent is not offensive but so very mild. I guess that's why they call it the gentle shampoo.

The smell of this shampoo makes me literally gag every time I use it. It smells of a blend between baby diapers, baby powder and sickly sweet honey. So gross! It lathers really well and doesn't strip my bleached hair, but I will never ever repurchase this.

Great product, especially if you have fine hair. I'm not sure why it didn't lather too well for me, and that's a major bummer for something so expensive (don't want to keep using more to get a lather!).. but the results make it worth purchasing. :) My hair felt clean yet not stripped, and it still had a squeaky clean feel. I followed with Super Rich conditioner (excellent stuff). This combination made my fine hair feel so full, soft, smooth in the shower. My hair isn't processed/treated, but I think this is supposed to be safe anyway (don't quote me, please). :) Smells lovely.. citrusy, but not overbearing.

Nothing special: the only good point is it does not weight my hair down. I like to use it in combination with super rich conditioner. For the price it does not stand out. It smells horrible (I cannot stand it), it does not add any "woomp" to my chemically treated hair. Far below average. Kerastase is much better. Would not repurchase.

I've tried several of the B&B products and didn't care for them much at all... Thought I'd give a couple more of them a try and found a winner with this one. This shampoo works well with my hair type (long, color-treated, fine and lots of it). Very subtle scent, rinses thoroughly, didn't strip my hair, HUGE lather from a small amount of product. It's on the expensive side but considering how little I used, it's going to last a long time so in the long run that makes it not so expensive after all. Love the bottle (see-thru, very important to me so I know how much is left) and a perfect shape, size, and dispenser (easy-to-use and doesn't drip or waste product). I'm very pleased with this B&B product !

I've had great luck with Bumble and Bumble styling products so I decided to purchase this the last time I was at my salon. I have a pretty large rotation of hair products... my bathroom and shower is littered with shampoos, conditioners, styling products, etc. But I've been meaning to try this one for awhile now.
I love the light scent, it's really pretty and lingers just enough to be noticeable to me throughout the day. I mention this first because it's so appealing, and usually I'm not a fan of noticeable fragrance in my skincare or haircare products. I actually look forward to washing my hair, which is saying something since I have a ton of hair, and it can feel more like a chore sometimes than an enjoyable experience.
Anyways, it does seem gentle to me and really helps keep my hair soft. I don't have as much of a problem with my hair tangling up after I rinse as I do with other shampoos. It's easy to make a rich lather, yet it doesn't strip my color or leave it dried out. I know the lather is due to the sulfates in this, but since I do switch it out with other shampoos I'm not concerned about the long term damage it might do to my hair.
I use about a quarter sized amount and it's more than enough for my very long hair (past waist length) so I'm guessing this bottle (8 oz) will last me quite some time. I combine this with B & B's Super Rich Conditioner and I'm always really happy with the results. My hair feels extra silky and lightweight with that pairing.
I also love the plastic squeeze bottle. Easy to dispense, easy to travel with, and drop proof. The 8 oz was around $22.00 I think, but I can't remember the exact amount I paid. I'd repurchase this when I run out.

This is a very "rough" shampoo. I had high hopes for, too. But after using it just two times, I am going to give up. My fine, high-lighted hair feels like straw and is extremely dry from both uses. I noticed that someone commented on the amount of lather being a bit suspicious, and I would agree. Too much detergent in this one! It is going back to the salon, and I am going back to my trusted Kerastase.

I am a very picky shampoo/conditioner person. My HG is Trevor Sorbee shampoo/conditioner which I have to special order in gallon containers because its so hard to find. I've used it for 20 years. However, my salon carries this and I thought I'd treat myself. It was okay. It left my hair feeling thick in the shower (almost like there was residue when I know there wasn't). Maybe it is just my water which is city water and not unusually hard or soft? I would use this once a week as an alternate shampoo to help clean off my usual shampoo build up. It didn't leave my hair unusually soft and it made it harder to get a comb through my long hair after the shower. My hair felt heavy, oily and blah in less than 24 hours of the shampoo. It did this every time. I will not be purchasing again. Scent was nice though.
