Good basic moisturizer. Don't really have many complaint about the product itself, but quite dislike the packaging. It would be just so much more convenient if there's an pump or comes in a tube rather than a bottle.

Used this off and on for years. When they changed the formulation years ago, I was disappointed, but now I'm used to this version. Simple moisturisation, without silicones and without fragrance (both of which irritate my sensitive skin). I'd rather need to use a blotting paper at lunch time to stop some shine and have plump soft skin rather than dry cracked skin. Unusual product in today's market, please don't ever discontinue!!!

EDIT: OK, I've downgraded. This stuff is just not that great. It moisturises OK and doesn't aggravate rosacea but it does cause regular spots. It depends how desperate you are but try something different as there are better things out there.

pros:
+ moisturising

- although as hydrating as my physiogel cream, it can make me look a little oily after a few hours

i'll keep my physiogel cream

I've been using this lotion for the past couple weeks and I really like it. It's quite emollient and I only need a tiny bit. It wears well under makeup for Fall and Winter, but I probably wouldn't use this as a daytime moisturizer when the weather warms up because it would make me greasy (I have combo skin). It also doubles nicely as a night moisturizer and my skin feels hydrated and soft when I wake up in the morning. Bonus points that it's fragrance-free. I'll definitely consider repurchasing when I run out!

I was at Kiehls recently looking for a replacement for the Creme D'Elegance moisturizer. Apparently it's being discontinued? Anyway, the sales lady recommended the Ultra moisturizer and I'm really enjoying it. My skin is very clear but VERY dry. I need quite a bit of moisture on my face and this does the trick. I love the thickness and the way it applies on the skin. This combined with the Ultra toner and face wash is pretty incredible in my opinion. My skin feels soft. The Ultra line is excellent for dry-skin ladies! Highly rec.

I really wanted to love this moisturiser after so much hype and the sheer number of celebrities using it. It didn't break me out, but it was nothing special either. Mainly, it just made my skin greasy looking (even in winter.)
I've bought 30ml samples that lasted me quite a long time, so in the long run the size/price ratio is not that extreme, but I still wouldn't spend that much for something so.. unbelievably overhyped. I could see how it could suit some skin types, but this one just doesn't do it for me.

I got this as a sample at Kiehl's. It feels very light when I put it on. However, after an hour or two, my face becomes extremely oily. I am using this in the summer months. The package says that the moisturizer for all skin types, but I would say it's more for those who have drier skin.

This it's my daily moisturizer! I've been using this for a year , with excellent results, is the only one that has been able to heal my dry skin in winter.is a lightweight non-irritating moisturizer that takes a while to absorb.
Is the best moisturizer! I´ve used neutrogena, vichy, laroche posay, eucerin and this one is the only with excellent results. Although for summer it can be a little bit heavy.

I don't really know what the hype is with these kiehl's products, I found that this moisturizer was very good but not amazing. It does do a very good job at moisturizing. At one point my skin got so dried out from overdoing acne-treatments and was literally peeling and flaking. I put this on and it really helped my skin get back to normal within 1-2 days.

However I can't give this 5 stars because I'm only able to use this as a nighttime moisturizer. Although its geared towards all skin types, It makes me look and feel oily after application. But it didn't break me out! Strangely, it also gives your skin a glowy look when applied, so I think this would work well for normal-dry people.

First I should say that I have used and loved this moisturizer for years as my HG moisturizer. It is a squalane moisturizer, which is a very good type of moisture for skin, absorbing well and being very hydrating.

But - this product contains PARABENS, both methylparaben and propylparaben, which in new research is being linked to breast cancer. The independent scientists who are studying this class of ingredients say they won't use products containing it themselves, after seeing the breast cancer evidence.

I am so disappointed. I feel like Kiehl's is not on the cutting edge of using good ingredients. For years I used their SPF 15 Ultra Facial Moisturizer before discovering it provides no UVA protection - just what you want in a face sunscreen :)

If anyone who likes Ultra Facial Moisturizer could recommend other moisturizers they also like, I'd love to have some options which I can check for parabens.

Thanks!

This is the only moisturzer that works well for my skin during the winter months/cold season. I have combination skin that gets dry during the cold season so I need that extra moisture. This product gives me just that without making me oily. I like that it's lightweight and it doesn't break me out.

This has become my HG moisturizer after using Nivea for 5 years. Kielh's opened up at our local mall and I decided to finally give their products a try. I LOVE the "glowy" look it gives that others on here may refer to as "oily". I spent $32 on the 125mL, last me about 6 months (you don't need ALOT of product). I use it in combination with the dark spot corrector (which is why I even went to Kielh's in the first place, check out my detailed review on it) Lastly the packaging is a squirting bottle and never "over-squirts", always the perfect amount. Definitely one of the "classic" moisturizers you need to try at some point in your life. It's either a love or hate relationship.

I understand why people have an issue with this moisturizer being pretty heavy... sometimes around my hormonal cycle or in summer I can look a little oily during the day, but that's 1000 times better than having dry skin that is irritated and over produces oil and gives me constant pimples. This stuff balances out my skin perfectly. BUT I also use benzol peroxide 2.5% on my face morning and night, which is very drying so this product works perfectly in unison.

A little goes a LONG way. Never leave it open, or the water can evaporate and the lotion gets thicker. Honestly, one big bottle lasted me a YEAR! a freaking year! I love it. I use it with La roche posay ultra fluid spf45 which basically mattifies after the lotion.

i bought this moisturizer as part of the kiehl's "ultra facial" set, all of the products of which i was testing out. i have dry, acne-prone combination skin and because of the products i was using to clear up the acne on my forehead i was looking for products that would keep my skin hydrated while i treated my skin. the cleanser and toner are great, but this moisturizer definitely was a disappointment, especially after reading the glowing reviews on other websites. when used as an all-over face moisturizer it just sits on top of the skin and makes it look terrible--shiny, greasy, and making my pimples look more pronounced. at first i thought that it would go away after a few minutes since i'd read that one of the main ingredients imitated sebum in order for the lotion to be absorbed by the skin. no such case; i was left with basically no difference in my overall hydration level and i looked terrible all day. i stuck it out through five days, and when i realized that it wasn't making a difference at all i just switched back to my old lotion.
now i just rub a tiny amount into small dry patches and it works fairly well. definitely wouldn't buy again.

I quite like this one. It's super moisturizing and it doesn't irritate my skin or cause pimples. I use this as a night cream because it can be a little greasy during the daytime.

I had no idea this would be SO moisturizing. It's finally warming up outside so I decided to replace my winter cream. My skin is dry but somehow even the tiniest bit of this leaves my skin looking oily. I have never had to worry about a shiny t-zone but, if I put this on before makeup application, you can see the future in my forehead. It inexplicably smells like plastic. On the plus side, this doesn't break me out or clog my pores so I'll keep using it sparingly.

Whenever I buy anything at Kiehls, I ask for tons of samples. I wasn't looking for a moisturizer, but this has become my new favorite. It moisturizes but isn't too heavy or oily. At night, I mix it with a few drops of Sibu sea buckthorn oil, and that combo has become my HG!

I like it since it's not irritating and greasy. I like to use it as an everyday moisturizer. I loove the tinted one with SPF! it's got mild coverage. I use it as a primer for my foundation and it doesn't feel heavy at all.

I would not recommend this product if you have combination/oily skin. It is definitely way more moisture than I need living in LA. I read on the bottle (or maybe a promotional sign?) that it's developed for harsh winter conditions and I can see how it would be great in that type of environment (or even really cold, dry desert). However, it makes my skin really shiny and takes so long to absorb. I can still feel it sitting on my face in the morning when I apply it at night.

Pros: very moisturizing

Cons: doesn't absorb, leaves a greasy feeling on skin, expensive, has parabens
