I love Tarte, but I'm not crazy about these lip glosses. The color is very sheer, it really doesn't give your lips any color at all, its more meant for wearing over a lipstick I would think. The packaging is cute, and the colors in the tubes are nice. These are cute gift ideas, I just don't personally like them because they don't give the color I want.

A beautifu lswap item: "Gatsby & Daisy" have become my go-to lipgloss for daily wear.
Gatsby: A rich, creamy rosey pink a little on the deeper side.
Daisy: A sheerer, shimmery shade, still in the pinky family, but almost more of a light burgandy.
The two colours compliment each other very nicely and feel moisturizing, rather than sticky, on the lips.
I don't know how great the staying power is of these glosses - I mean, they're GLOSSES. None of them last all day. But I'd say that "Gatsby" definitely lasts a little longer since it is a creamier consistency. They also smell lovely ... but again, do we want any kind of fragrance in "natural" products???
I've been loving this gloss and probably wouldn't have spent the $20 on it if it weren't for MUA. At this price I almost wish the tubes held a little more product, but I think that if you LOVE both colours, than it's still worth it.

My review is based on a mini-size of Angela/Jordan (received from a friend who bought a gift set a couple of summers ago and wasn't crazy about these colors on her). My biggest complaint with this gloss (though it may be anomalous to the one I have) is the smell. Granted, it's not a horrible or rancid smell, but it's not a pleasant lip-product smell. It's the exact scent of a popsicle stick or toothpick! Every time I applied it, I thought of that type of wood. Very odd, and by whatever way your smell and taste are connected, it always made my mouth feel a bit dry until the smell dissipated. Huh.
The gloss itself was pretty average, not amazing, but provided a nice shine and hint of color over lipstick. Angela is a peach with no shimmer that I could see, and Jordan was a purple-toned brown with gold shimmer. Despite the odd scent, I would actually repurchase this duo just because of the name (at the tender age of 10, I felt My So-Called Life was the only show that really understood me :) ). However, I'm pretty sure this particular duo is not in the regular line.

I got this in the Jake & Samantha combo. Jake is like a hot pink color and Samantha is a pale pink. The consistency is on of the biggest things I like about this lipgloss. It's kind of thick and not super sticky. I don't like lipglosses that disappear two seconds after putting it on, so I like this one for that reason. It stays on for a good amount of time even with talking and drinking. As for pigmentation- Jake comes off pretty much exactly how it looks. Such a gorgeous hot pink color. I naturally have darker lips and the color on this really stayed true to what it looked like. Samantha is a much more sheer, pale pink color. For me, this one just really goes on clear and doesn't add any real color. I like it if I just want some gloss without color, but I tend to use it more just to tone done the brightness of Jake. All in all, very happy with it!

my first Tarte purchase today was the lipgloss duo in Baby and johnny. i love love love the colors as well as the scent...but a bit sticky and no real staying power - but i think that is the case with most lip glosses??
the price is ridiculous...but i do use almost daily...may repurchase

I really like these lipgloss because they come in a light shade and a darker shade. I love that you can carry these so easily in your purse and go from a day look to a night look and only have to carry one gloss! I do not like how messy the screw cap can get, Im constantly wiping it off, but I think this is the case with all lipgloss for the most part. Id recommend this product. It stays on for a good amount of time, and looks great on your lips. The tint is heavy enough on the darker colors that you dont have to wear anything under them, and if you do decide to, it still looks great.

I wanted to love this so bad as I love Tarte products. Their powder is the best and the cheek stains are great fun!
I got this gloss in "Jake and Samantha" the pink ones. The colours are OK. The staying power isn't. For this price, you can get better.
My main issue with this is the packaging. They leak. A lot. Every month or so I am having to clean up some mess in my make-up drawer/bag. Not worth it.

I love this gimmick of using famous couples for each pair of glosses! The first I got was Bogey and Bacall, which were a couple of shades of a purple. Good thing they are very sheer because I would not have worn them otherwise.
The other full size I have is Luke and Laura. I had to buy it because I was a huge fan of General Hospital in the early 80s. This has become my favorite-a couple of shades of dk rose, a mlbb type of gloss for me.
Additionally, I have the three miniature that came in the A-List palette and the only thing that sticks out in my mind about them is that the Mimi and Roger are way to glittery for me to ever wear them anywhere but a bar--and I rarely frequent them!

I got this as a gift, and I must say my friends sure know my coloring, because this is a hit with my skin tone! The pink side is nice and neutral, and so is the beige side! There's more pigment in this gloss than most, and it has great staying power. It's got high shine and very little shimmer, which is good for me. The down side is that it's a little sticky, and it has a brush applicator instead of a wand, which I don't love. It isn't the most comfortable lip glosses I've ever worn, but it's one of the prettiest. I'd buy this again.
Edit: I have the Johnny and Baby one.

I am really impressed with this lip gloss; I got one as the part of the ready-set-glow kit from Sephora and I have to say it is one of the best glosses, and it's long-wearing. I prefer it over smashbox glosses, which are also pretty good. That being said I probably would not pay $19 for just one gloss, that is way overpriced, but would probably repurchase as part of a set since I am pretty impressed with Tarte cosmetics so far.

I purchased Elle & Emmett.
Ok, first the positive: the quality of the gloss it good. It has good staying power. It isn't sticky. The two colors look good for my skin tone. Cute packaging. Cute name. Cute lips.
Now the negative: EXPENSIVE! There are sooo many lip glosses on the market that beat the quality of this product for a cheaper price. Heck, Dior's much-talked-about glosses are cheaper than these!
I wouldn't, out of all the glosses available, buy this if I were you.

These are just too cute. I love that you get two for one, and that these are not sticky and give good color payoff, AND that you can mix and match to your hearts' content. While I won't buy every single one OMG, I think these are worth a look. Very doable.
*snob* seems to be a little off, eh?

I have Mimi and Roger. And I haven't tried a great deal of the others, and certainly not recently enough to comment on them. Mimi and Roger is lovely. A good gold is hard to find, and these are basically the same (small variation) but I'm okay with that because gold is really what I"m after here. The texture is incredibly moisturizing so sometimes, I just use them as a conditioner and they last quite well. For me the smell is light enough to not be bothersome, in fact I had to just smell it because I hadn't made note of any smell. It's a light sweet scent. If the other glosses are lacking in pigment, then I completely understand the complaints I've read here. One can always put gloss on thinly for less pigment but you don't want to feel like you have a jar of vaseline on your lips just to decorated them. The gold sparkle is strong and beautiful in these. I can't say anything about the expense because mine was a gift, but would I pay $25? Nope.

Only reason I picked this up was that it was on clearance at Nordstrom Rack for $6.75 because I already have more gloss than these lips can use in one lifetime. Actually the Tarzan & Jane shade is okay, but not worth 18 bucks. The colors appear really pretty in the tube, but don't show up well on pigmented lips, kinda like a tinted vaseline. The consistency/shine is really nice, but not overpowering, so if you're looking for a lipglass effect, you may be dissappointed. Overall, I'd suggest picking one of these up if you can find it discounted somewhere. It's a handy, everyday kinda gloss.

I've only recently gotten into Tarte glosses. I purchased three, none of which have large sparkles, which I hate. However, I like the metallic-finish ones. Love that these glosses are sheer, non-sticky and moisturizing. These last quite long on my lips, better than some tackier stuff out there, but I always wear a good SPF lip balm underneath.
My only complaint is that some colors are way too sheer, and that there are too many pinks in the line. How many light pink and nude glossses does one need? How about some neutral colors for medium skin?

Tarte lip gloss is my absolute favorite! It is not at all sticky like soooo many others I have tried (including both drug store and high end). I got mine in my Tarte Intro bag on QVC which contains the colors ginger and fred. I love the way you can snap off the ends and interchange them with the other colors of gloss, or snap them off and put them in your pocket one at a time. They are kind of expensive but I think with these you get what you pay for. They last longer and feel much better on my lips than anything else, and I am about to order some more colors on QVC! I would say just give them a try if you are hesitant, and if you buy from QVC I am pretty sure you can return them if you dont like them, or just try the mini sizes like I did!

I got an All That Glitters LE gift set for Christmas, and it included a double ended lip gloss in there. I forgot what it was called but I know that one of them was called Gleam. It was sparkly gold on one end and pink on the other.well anyway, I must say that i don't like it at ALL. Both glosses are reallyy sticky and they have a really sweet, strong smell that's almost nauseating. The consistency was horrible too. Don't buy these- there are seriously much better glosses out there.

I have this in Johnny and Baby and I absolutely love it! Not only are the names of these double ended glosses adorable, but the colors are amazing too! It's great, a bit pricey. But definately worth it. Love it!<333

I understand the pigment issues some people may have with these glosses, however some aren't as bad as others. 'Jake & Samantha' has one side in a gorgeous raspberry color. I still think these glosses are truly amazing. The formula glides on in yummy scents, is long lasting, and doesn't feel gross/sticky on your lips. The fact that they can be pulled apart and combined with other "couples" is soo cute and handy! I don't have a negative thing to say about these!
