This product smudges too easily. A friend of mine who knows a lot about makeup told me about this eyeliner and so I bought it. This eyeliner doesn't come off easily and it smudges giving the impression that I have really bad bags under my eyes.

This is a good eyeliner. You can buy refills for cheaper, so its economical as well. What I do is pull out the smudger and put in another liner refill on that side, and then I have a duo eyeliner in one pen! I love the charcoal color, and hyacinth blue is nice too.

This is a pretty good liner. It's pigmented and goes on smooth. The problem is that there are cheaper, longer lasting liners out there. I'd go with GOSH or Milani liners over this one any day!

What I love about this, is that you don't need to buy the pencil duo at all. You can just buy the refills, which are less than $15 each. I have the liner refills in black and walnut brown, and they last forever!

I specifically use them on my lower waterline. The lasting power is alright. I haven't found anything smoother than this. This doesn't make my eyes water and it doesn't run or anything, so I'll stick with it. :)

I own this in the shade "Charcoal." I have gone through 3 refills in my lifetime. So as you can see, I quite like it! Charcoal isn't as intense as black. I will wear eyeliner in just about any colour but usually I don't like to have black on my lower eyelid as much. This colour works though. The application is smooth and stays put for the most part. I can see why people with oily lids might find that it smudges, but I personally do not have an issue with it. One end of this duo is a smudger, so if you like to smudge/soften your colour, you'll like that. I have a lot, a lot, a lot of different eyeliners, and this is one I find myself going back to frequently.

Been using this for 7-8 years now. On the expensive side, but worth it. The pigment lasts for an average amount of time- I love the packaging. The weight of the pencil is perfect for application and it's great to carry in my purse because I don't ever have to sharpen it and it comes with a smudger. I've used it on my waterline without any smudging or problems (I wear contacts). While there are other brands I like for color (UD, Tarina Tarantino), when I'm using black I always find myself reaching for this one.

Great for an automatic eyeliner, as I usually HATE the retractable twistie ones. Pencils usually give better colour and texture.

However, this product had a really really nice shade of black, and drew on smoothly without tugging on my eyelid. The built in smudger is really handy, I don't need to hunt around for a q-tip any more :D

The formula is rich, and creamy feeling (if that made any sense). It is a little pricey, but I use eyeliner sparsely, so this will probably last me long enough for me to make my money worth while :)

Really lousy. I bought this in a navy blue and it stinks. It does not have a lot of pigment and barely shows up at all. It is a bit dry and hard to put on without scraping your eyelids. It skips. You get only about an inch of product. They give you a refill stick so for over $20 you get about two inches of eyeliner. It is very thick so there is no way to get a fine line.
And the colors are very non descript. I can't tell what color this is supposed to be once I get it on my lid, since it's so faint and lacks pigment.
Wish I had never wasted my money on this dog.

I was expecting a lot more out of this eyeliner. I've been using it for a LONG time because I bought the starter kit that includes a refill. The color is not a rich black color and that really disappointed me because I was expecting good color for an Estee Lauder product. It has good staying power on the top lid but not good on the bottom. It smudges on my lower lids every day. I could live with that though if the color was good. Plus, the smudger is not user-friendly and doesn't smudge nicely.

This is my WATERLINE HG eyeliner. It does fade after awhile, but the color payoff is great initially and for a few hours. Fortunately, it is easy to carry around and apply on the go since the formula is so creamy and the duo provides for two ends if you need the smudger tool. I love that it is retractable too, sharpening eyeliners is one of my biggest makeup pet peeves and I try to avoid regular pencils at all costs. This is the best product EL has, everyone should try it out once, especially if you are looking to line your waterline without irritation!

I have a friend that use this like everyday so I thought it would be good but it was disappointing. It's an automatic that comes out pretty thick and it would be hard to do a thin line and there isn't a way to sharpen it that I know of because its not a pencil you can sharpen. The thing that sucks the most is that it smudges like crazy although I do like that its creamy and comes out really black but it seriously starts to move like half an hr after you apply and now that I think of it, my friend that has this is always reapplying this liner, wish I thought of that before I bought it.

I LOVE this pencil. There are alot of automatic pencils on the market, but I havent found a plum/purple color that actually shows up on me as purple I bought this in Plumwood and its a beautiful plum burgundy color which stays for hours and hours without smudging for changing colors. Because of those features I'm happy to spend $23. The best part is I got a refill to go with it. You get more bang for your buck.

For the price of this, i was expecting something a lot better. The combination of the liner and smudger works great but it just doesnt stay.

I find this product smudging after just a few hours of applying if i smudge it out after the liner application and it really makes a mess on my face. It does create a pretty nice smokey effect. However, if i just apply it without smudging it out, it does not stay AT ALL. after a few minutes, i could already see the raccoon eyes.

Now talk about some pros. This does glide on the eyes like butter and is not hassle at all to apply due to the softness. It feels great and i like a liner that you dont have to really work to get the colors on. Also, the liner stays true to its color, even if i use a really light hand to apply this, its still very black.

I dont think i will ever buy this product again though since the Almay or Revlon liners that are a third of the price works just as well and doesnt smudge as much.

Err... honestly... for the price... i was expecting more.
This does give a really natural look for those looking for one but this produce DOES smudge like crazy. to be honest, drug store products work much better than this one. This product is not dry and so is kind of easy to put on, again, i have used better ones from drug store that cost me less than $8.00 CAD Its great however, to create a smokey look but for those looking for a liner that will stay a line for the whole day, look the other way when u see this product.
Really not worth the price

Smudges a lot and comes off easily, gives a fattish line and the pencil tends to get round instead of sharp I also don't like the shades .In general is a very mediocre product and for the price this product should perform much better

Worst eyeliner I have tried in a LONG TIME, I have NEVER had an eyeliner smudge that badly on me. It was a huge disappointment. It creased onto my fold AND the actual tip of the thing is so darn big and the eyeliner is fairly soft so when you sharpen the tip and use it you'll have uneven lines on your eyes unless you keep sharpening. Even after slight touches a lot of it went on my hands I will NEVER EVER buy this product again.
