I've had this product for years and I love it! Im already hitting pan on my black colored one. what sucks though is whenever I go to look for this product at department stores, they never have it. other than that though, its a really great product and I will definitely be buying another one...if i can find it.

These shadows are very pigmented. Most of them end up looking the same on. It took me a few tries to get the hang of this, you have to use a very light hand and blend, blend, blend! If not you end up looking like you have a black eye, I like the brown colors the best, they look good to wear as a daytime smoky eye.

Horrible product to work with. Shadows are not very blendable and when you use the lighter color on top, it changes the color of the shadows as if you had added yellow. I hate this product and I feel I got ripped off.

When I first got this product, I didn't know what to make of it. The packaging is nice but the part that keeps it closed broke for some reason (and trust me, I take good care of my cosmetics). It took me a few tries to make the smokey effect look good, but after that, it's come to be one of my favorite palettes. I would experiment on yourself a few times before going out with this on, but after I got the hang of it I receive a lot of compliments when I go out!

*sigh* oh dear, i really wanted to like this product! i'm still wondering if its the product itself i have a problem with or the fact that i'm kind of clumsy when it comes to applying eye makeup and illiterate in doing a "smoky eye" on myself. the colors in the palette itself are beautiful- each color has a solid part and then a more glittery counterpart. the shadows are very pigemented (which thus, made it hard to blend for me) and the applicators were sort of weird, i think. for some reason, the shadow also flaked onto my cheeks when i was applying it. what a shame, since i'm such a fan of smashbox's eye primer- it works great with other eyeshadows but not this?!

Can't give this a full review just yet, but I have to say, the colors look AMAZING in the case! Five sparkly shades & five matte coordinating shades in a mirrored case with two applicators. I can't wait to try this!

From reading other comments it occured to me that possibly people had missed the point of this item! It is for creating the "smokey eye" that is in fashion currently, you take one of the dark colours and put it in the center of the lower eyelid and blend out with the pale colour and voila a perfect smokey eye!

Ughhh! I love a smokey eye, but no matter which shades and how I applied these shadows, I ended up looking like I had a black eye (or 2, to be precise). I followed the QVC demo instructions too. This went right back in the box to QVC, and I got myself a gorgeous Dior quint instead.

I recommend highly this palette for creating the ultimate smoky eye. However, that said - all the colors are so blackened that green, blue, purple, grey look almost the same! I would have appreciated a little more differentiation between shades.

I was using these wet as a liner because they went on too dark and could not be blended UNTIL I saw a presentation on QVC. To use them for a smoky eye, the secret is to use a brush with long soft hairs. They showed it with the SB #10 crease brush, which is similar to my BB eye blender brush. Works like a charm! I use a base neutral shadow all over & then layer color from the palette on with the blending brush, use my smudge brush to put color close to the lashes smoking it out a bit, and then wetline. The light colors are meant to be used with the bigger brush to help blend the color out at the edges. Using the blending brush, I can achieve a daytime softly smoked & lined look or a more dramatic eye. The brush revelation transformed this from an overpriced liner palette with colors that all looked alike on to an incredibly useful assortment that I reach for most days. It's also fabulous for travel.

I was also very disappointed with this product. The colors are highly pigmented, which would be fine if they weren't so hard to blend. The shimmery colors had no shimmer in them either, they only appeared to be darker versions of the non-shimmer colors. I guess I'll be using them as eyeliners.

Was really looking forward to this palette and when i got it i was thrilled with the colors in the palette-they looked so sexy. However, after attempting to use it on several different occassions, i am very disappointed. the sparkly shadows barely sparkle-the flat colors are not silky at all and they don't blend well. i tried using different brushes, and my fingers, no luck. as the day goes on it looks better but not what i expected at all. The neutral color is very blah w/no shimmer.I bet cheaper drugstore brands would probably work better than theses shadows. The only one that was decent was the navy.work great as eyeliners-the only reason i didn't give it away. expensive for eyeliners.Needless to say will not purchase again.

I have this palette and I love it. The colors do all look the same if you don't apply some base color first. Use the non-shimmery neutral color (or another light color) as a wash all over, and then blend the darker colors over the top of it. Gorgeous!

I was really excited about this palette, and hurried to buy it even after reading some negative feedback on MUA. well, girls, it's true. the colors in this set are really dark minus the highlighting shades. i only really wear intense dark eyeshadow, but in this set, every color looks practically the same when applied--they are all a grey/black shade, just with hints of blue or green. i am a little disappointed that the blue and green hues aren't brighter, but afterall smashbox did name this smokebox. i used this as an eyeliner, applied wet with an eyelining brush and it was ok, but it does smear. if you're using a regular cake-liner, stick with that. though the shadows are highly pigmented, i feel like i am getting only 3 shades with this set! don't buy this if you prefer brighter shades or variety!

This is the perfect palette for smoky eyes - the shadows are highly pigmented, so must be used with care. I was sold after seeing Timber demo it on QVC, and had to have one - have not regretted it! Also - Smashbox is not a well known brand in N. Ireland, so I like the cache of having something different!

This is a compact with 5 matte and 5 shimmer shades of eyeshadows. I really like the dark, smoky look, so I love the look of these shadows. There are 2 charcoal shades, 2 dark blue, 2 dark green, 2 brown and 2 taupe shades. I really like the shimmer shadows, very nice look.

I really like this i am glad i gave in and got it, it really gives that smoky eye look that i was looking for not too dark tho just right. I like to pair these with pixel paints, like pixel or still life, or mauveism. Over all very satisfied with this cute little palette.

A must have for smokey eye lovers! The quality of these shadows is superb..super pigmented and silky and easy to layer. A fantastic MUAer CP'd this for me and I've been having so much fun playing with this little palette. Even when I don't want the smokey eye look, I love using the dark shimmery brown and dark shimmery green colors to line with. I'm amazed at how pigmented these shadows are. I also like to use a little of the dark grey matte shadow over a neutral color like MAC brule in the outer corners, then line with the dark grey shimmery color for a very subtle smokey grey eye. It's totally gorgeous. The colors are surprisingly versatile and need not look as dramatic as they look in the palette. It just depends on how light an application you use and what colors you decide to pair them with. A+ in my book!
