This is a really nice moisturizer for the winter. It is a little thicker, so it might not be appropriate for everyone for the summer. I am going to keep looking elsewhere for an HG moisturizer, but I will definitely come back to this if I don't find anything comparable.

Silky texture that goes on smoothly
Natural finish after applying (not oily or matte)
Works with combination skin (moisturized my dry areas w/o adding excessive moisture to oily areas)
Very faint natural scent
Lovely bottle that is sized for travel

Expensive for size

This is a new series of skin creams meaning flower, root, tree, fruit in Japanese. It is a slightly tan color cream in a pump bottle. It's meant for day or you can layer it under the heavier cream. The bottle is rather small (1.4 oz) for the price, but it's extremely effective under the cream, which you can wear alone for day, or wear this alone for day. I found that layering this under the cream is good both night and day in winter; summer I might omit one layer if it's really warm.

The botanical ingredients seem in higher concentration in this essence: Platycarya strobilacea, great burnet, purslane, reishi mushroom and licorice, all of which are antioxidant and in the case of licorice and purslane, soothers. My skin was absolutely velvety-soft and this lasted into the next morning. It can be purchased as part of a set for some savings on cost. I wish the bottles were larger, but one advantage is that they look small enough to put into a zip bag for airplane carry-on.
