Since becoming a nail art-a-holic I have fallen in love with china glaze. However their polish tended to chip easily on me so I decided to give OPI a go, this colour looked great and I needed to add some cremes to my collection. It was more expensive than china glaze but was such a lovely colour I had to have it!
Now I'm not sure if it is because it is a creme or not, but this took 4, yes 4 coats to become completely even and opaque. This was a real pain and was quite difficult to apply. I did love that the brush was so thick this helped a little but the formula was so thin! I do love the colour but since I have discovered a great no chip top coat and fast drying topcoat, once this runs out, I will go back to china glaze to see if they have a similar colour.

my polish purchases do tend to be based on reviews and swatches that i find online, and this was one of those products, i read reviews and loved the name, and bought it.
a 'normal' mani, with clean nails, base coat (Orley bonder), two coats of OPI you are such a budapest, and a top coat (manicure high shine) --- love it. Polish applied easily, two coats for full coverage and thick enough to make a neat cuticle line, not runny or streaky, self leveled nicely, not so thick as to be difficult to apply.
colour - a rather special light purple, with a shimmer in the bottle and less of a shimmer on the nail, many call this a summer or spring colour, but i wore it in deep dark winter and as it is a cool purple, almost icy, i felt it worked well in winter. i'd wear it in summer and spring as well. went beautifully with all my black and grey clothes, and with some brighter prints.
wear and tear, this polish surprised me, a little tip wear, just a line at the tip of the nails of my dominant hand - despite a few sinks of dish washing with gloves, and usual household chores and hand/hairwashing, and food prep at home, and a load of typing (i work in an office), On day four i added a new coat of OPI Budapest and another coat of clear topcoat, and it continued to last well, I got until well into day 6 before any more tip wear appeared - this time on both hands, and day 8 before I had any chips - even then these were small at at the far edge corners of some my nails. Much as i love the color i was hankering for a change after 8 days ... so finally removed the polish.
Came of cleanly, no staining, no stuck bits at the edges or in my cuticles.
new favorite until i am distracted by something else ...

I'm half Hungarian, and my favourite colour is purple, so naturally I had to have this polish. The colour is pretty, but I'm disappointed in the formula. It's very very streaky, you need 3 coats for sure.

Such a pretty color - a pale bluish purple with a touch of grey to it. (Periwinkle?) Modern and opaque. Gorgeous for a summer mani or pedi. Love it as a gel also. My manicurist applied it - and the first coat was sheer but after 2 (3 is better) looks great. Can streak - so be careful - but there are definitely worse shades out there for streakiness. Not super hard to apply but not "an easy" color either.

This color is from the 2013 Euro-centrale collection. I absolutely love the color; it's a light purple creme with a blue tint to it--light periwinkle. I found the formula, however, to be a nightmare--it was sheer and very streaky. It took three coats to be opaque and I can still see visible nail lines. I'm disappointed in the formula since OPI's prices are now $9 a bottle; usually they have such a nice streak-free finish. However, even with the downside, I love the color so much that I would buy it again. It dried quickly and stays chip-free for 5 or 6 days on me.

I agree with the others about the watery formula. This is close in color to Essie's "Lapis of Luxury", which I think also has a watery formula. However, the color makes up for it. I've gotten several compliments on this - such an unusual shade of blurple. Love it!

This is a nice colour, but I seriously hate the formula. If you're an expert nail painter, it would probably be okay, but for a person who's just starting out, the formula of this will frustrate you to no end. It's really watery. At first I put thin coats on my nails. It didn't work, still streaky after three coats. Then I put two thick coats. My nails look as thick as fake acrylic nails. The colour is nice, but its really a fuss to put on. The good thing about this polish is, after you go through it a few more times, you'll most definitely become an expert nail painter.

I love this! Such a unique color that I haven't found any dupes for - awesome periwinkle with a slight shimmer (if you look close or pay attention while painting but once dried it's hardly noticeable). I wondered if I could get away wearing my other lavender polishes and felt like I was probably buying this for no reason but no! It is unlike any other purple or blue color I own. Looks great on many skin tones. I would definitely recommend.
Update: 7 days later and only 2 minor chips. Amazing! It lasted so long it's actually growing out on my nail.

I bought this color because I have nothing like it. It's a periwinkle blue cream, that almost hints at having a bit of lilac in it. I don't normally like blue polish, so this is a first. I was a bit disappointed in it. The formula was thin, and it took me 3 solid coats to get opacity. I almost thought it was a sheer, however this color sheer makes you look like you are suffering from oxygen depravation. Not attractive at all. It did go on streak free, so I can't complain there. It's not terribly complimentary to my pale pinkish complexion, but that's not OPI's fault. IMO, this would look good on someone with a tan, and would probably look nicer on toes than fingertips.

It's a beautiful color, wonderful! Perfect for spring and summer. The formula is a little bit wattery but the results are worth it.
