One of my beloved products. I have tried so many soaps, gels and other products to clean my face - this one is the best combination between result and price. I really feel my extreemly oily skin CLEAN after using this soap. And much less redness in areas, where i have "black heads" . I also use cleaning brush from Shiseido at evening to clean face (guessvusing the brush on the morning too will be simply too much). So if i will compare this product with Sisley Foaming Cleanser, which ihave used over a year, with Acne Solutions Antibacterial Soap i have the same result, but at 3 to 4 times cheaper price.

Love this soap bar it has really helped keep my skin clear, I received a sample at sephora along with with the rest of acne clearing line and I am in love I saw the difference right away. I know soaps are a little drying on the skin so I started using it twice a day and now that my face has calmed down I only use it at night and its great plus for the price I can tell it will last a long time and it comes in a real nice dish to keep it clean and neat. It says you can use it on your body but for sanitary reasons I rather just keep it on my face haha.. love it!

I'm 29 years old, with oily skin that is prone to clogging/breakouts. My skin tends to dry out very easily if I'm cleansing with the wrong thing. I have used the whole Acne Solutions line off and on for over a year. I recently switched to the Mild Liquid Soap and after a week or two found my skin breaking out and very congested. I always go back to the Acne Solutions Soap. I have cleansed with it for two days and my skin is already much more clear.
FYI I use the bar soap. I originally used the foam cleanser, but I just went through it way too fast. The bar has lasted me since March of last year!

I don't usually have too much acne on my skin. I was lucky enough to bypass the whole teen acne phase too. But recently i've been getting at least 1-2 pimples a week and decided to try this out. Its been about 3 weeks, and for some reason I've been getting a few more pimples. I'm not sure if its the "purging" or if its the soap itself. I knew salicylic acid is an exfoliant and it tends to try out your skin, so MOISTURIZE! I usually use the clinique DDM gel, but that just hasn't been enough to counteract this soap. I had to bring it down to every other day cuz my skin was so dry it was peeling. I just started using the mild cetaphil and it went back to normal. Acne still persisting though. So unless you have horrible acne with oily skin and are willing to try anything, this would be it. But if you're like me, have normal/combo skin and get the occasional pimple, I wouldn't waste the money. Its funny over the years i've realized the less i do to my face, the better it is. Less is more ladies!

I bought this a few months ago for $16 canadian. I really like it, its not messy at all like u would think. I have used it twice a dayand I am nOo where near running out. It keeps my bad acne under control. It also does not dry out at all. I love it and would buy it again. Only problem is it is expensive for a bar of soap

I got this along with the calrifyng lotion and moisturiser. Pleasantly suprised as definitely thought itd be way too harsh for my skin. I currently use the 3-step oily skin soap and number 3 clarifying lotion, which i was happy enough with. But i am prone to breakouts and so started using the little bar of soap every night after removing my makeup. Funnily, i dont find it drying at all, and im usually first in line when trying a new face wash for my face to flare up all sore and red and itchy!!!! Used this for about 2 weeks now, and have noticed my skin is a lot smoother with only the odd hormonal spot.
Yes, once this mini bar runs out i will purchase the full size!

I wanted to love this product after reading the reviews on it - unfortunately this soap doesn't do much for me...but it also doesn't aggravate anything... Glad it works for so many others, but too bad it hasn't worked for me...

I have very oily & acne prone skin. I've tried so many products and decided to try the Clinique Acne Solution facial soap. I am very disappointed in the lack of any results in reducing my acne and it leaves a waxy oily layer on my skin after cleansing. Save your money and check out another product.

I read a ton of reviews and did my research on this product before going to Sephora and checking it out. I was extremely excited to buy this soap, because I tend to break out on my face and my back, and since its a bar, its easy to use on your body and face. I've been using this soap for around 1-1 1/2 months, and I really don't see any difference :( I use it in the morning, and at night and I don't see my skin on my face/back clearing up due to this soap :( I had high hopes for this, since spring and summer are coming around the corner and I could wear a tube top, or instead of foundation, try a tinted moisturizer, but this soap hasn't been clearing up my problems :(
I think if i did stop using the soap though, my skin would worsen, so I will continue to use this, but I don't think ill be repurchasing :(

I didn't want to review this individually because I did a review on the entire line, but I wanted to give my two cents after seeing all the bad reviews.
Initially, I did not want to buy this because the cleansing foam pump worked wonders on my face and I was afraid of switching to something else. When I was purchasing the cleansing foam, the SA suggested the bar soap to me. She said it foams up even better and lasts much longer. I told her maybe next time. That next time came less than two months later, after I ran out of the cleansing foam. Because I was tired of paying more for less product, I bought the bar soap and hoped it would work as well.
For some months, the bar soap worked just as well. After a while though, my skin must have gotten immune because I began to get breakouts again, but not as much as I did before I started using the Acne Solutions line. Each bar lasted me 5-6 months. At first, I used it night + day. I'd clean my face with a different cleanser to get all my makeup off, and then afterwards I used the bar soap. After a while though, I started using it mornings only.
Several months ago, I ran out and replaced it with a tea tree oil bar soap from Trader Joe's because of $$$. My breakouts were still under control, but after a few weeks I began to break out a little more than usual. Still, it wasn't too bad. I purchased a liquid pump soap (what I am currently using now) to spare a few minutes in the morning and my face hasn't been this bad for years. ): I'm going to repurchase the Clinique Bar Soap next time I'm at Macy's because nothing has worked as well on my skin (besides the cleansing foam, which worked better) than this product.

I like this soap, but it doesn't do anything to clear up my acne. I tried the entire acne solutions line and honestly, none of the products cleared me up.
However, this bar is HUGE (and it comes in a cute little covered container/dish) and I didn't want to waste it. When I'm too lazy to use my Clarisonic or a liquid cleanser, I just go for this at the side of my sink. It's also nice for the days when I just want to get clean... not wearing any make-up, maybe just a bit of powder.
It gives my skin that "squeaky" feeling, which I'm not a fan of... but meh, it's alright. I won't purchase again just because I feel like I could buy a similar bar soap (like Aveeno or Neutrogena) for much cheaper.

I have the acne solutions cleansing bar - hopefully this is the right one, although I don't remember it saying it's anti-bacterial. It looks like aregular bar of soap, and comes in a green protective case, with a little shelf with holes in it for the bar to sit in, so any water drains off.
Anyways, I LOVE this. It's certainly not perfect, but for my it's pretty much the best thing I've ever used on my skin- it doesn't do an amazing job of taking of my makeup, so I either take that off first or double cleanse. That is about the only thing i would improve. The it lathers easily and is pleasant and not harsh on my skin.
It leaves my skin feeling soft and really clean, but not too dry, and for the amount of time it last it's THE BEST value for money - i have had my bar for over a month and it's still way more than 3/4 there. With twice daily use it will last over 6 months - which is great value over the long haul, and way better then the foaming cleaner in the bottle.
I used the similar product by Dove in a moment of desperation, and this is so much better - the Dove bar left my skin feeling gross and dry, and almost like it had a residue on it - this one rinces clean.
I will continue to re-buy.

I use this cleanser twice a day, night and morning.
It does not remove my make up entirely, but cleansers are not really supposed too. At least not this one to my knowledge.
The soap I have doesn't look like the one pictured, the one I purchase is all white and quite small (about half the size of my palm). It is quite frustrating having to lather up the soap every time I go to use it but for keeping my acne away I can deal with it. I gave the packaging such a low score because I have no idea how to store it. I hate the idea of it just sitting out all wet and ick, but how are you supposed to dry off soap? It just comes shrink wrapped, I know the larger one comes with a case which I keep in the shower but I still hate the thought of putting something on my face that's been sitting in water. Bleh!
Despite this I really, really love it. It doesn't feel harsh but it still is quite thoroughly cleansing. I don't find it dries out my skin at all but I am oily verging on very oily. This in conjunction with the other two steps has cleared up my acne and kept it away completely so a little extra effort and some storing issues really aren't a big deal.

Love this! Works well for combination skin, though it might be a little to tough for sensitive skin. After a few weeks use, my skin looks and feels great.

Ugh I hare being a science major sometimes...I get stressed out and te main result of my stress is acne. I mean it's bad enough to the point where my mom can tell when I have a test coming up. So you can only imagined that I have tried every acne product under the sun. Cetaphil worked for a while then it stopped working. Same thing with clearasil. I thought I had found an hg with the neutrogena deep clean soap but my skin was drying out so badly... All hope was lost until I found this clinique soap. I had recently tried the regular clinique soap and I remember how great it worked for my skin tone so I had high hopes for this stuff. And I'm very happy to say that this stuff did not let me down!!!!! I used this stuff for two days and my acne was gone, which was a miracle considering I had two test in one day so I know my skin would have been terrible at this time. This stuff cleared up my acne and really gave me squeaky clean skin! Here's how I use it: I wet my face and rub the bar on my face. Then I take my clarisonic and let that scrub the product into my face. Magic I tell ya!!!! I cannot say enough good things about this stuff.
Oh and the price is practically a steal considering how long it lasts. Since I plan to use this only when I'm breaking out, I expect this stuff to last me 8 months. ( I'm basing this off of the regular soap which I used everyday and it lasted me six months)
Great job clinique, my skin thanks you!

I'd give this product -1000 lippies if I could. I've been meaning to do a review for 4 years now. 4 years ago when I was 17, I was looking for a quickfix for my acne problems. I came across Clinique's antiacne anti-bacterial soap bar by some cruel twist of fate. This was the only product I was using. I used it for about a month, and then discontinued use because it was too drying. Shortly after discontinuing use, dry patches covered my entire face.
I was horrified, but thought this effect would go away soon enough. I had developed seborrheic dermatitis (face dandruff), induced by this soap bar. Yeah it got rid of my acne, but the tradeoff was far from worth it. It completely messed up the balance of my skin. It basically ruined my life. Btw, I'm 21 now and my skin condition has not improved one bit. I long for those days when I had moderate acne, at least it wasn't as bad (or WEIRD) as the skin I have today. I should sue those bastards at Clinique for all my years of suffering.

Ummmm...I'm not sure if "antibacterial soap" her means they are talked about the acne face and body bar but I'm reviewing the acne bar soap. This soap worked really well for me for a while, I still use it but I ended up having to go get on perscription meds because this just wasn't enough. I prefer this bar over the foaming acne soap becaus it works better, is cheaper, and gentler. The bar last for at least 4 months if not more. It works great on my back and is just about the only thing I've used on my back that did provide results. I don't use the rest of the acne care line, just this bar because I feel the other components are too harsh and when you tackle acne too agressively it makes it worse. As a matter of fact my dermotologist told me I could continue to use this as long as I didn't have any irritation. It's one of the only clinique products I still use. The price is great too, I don't have to cringe when checking out with this stuff.

I love this product! It has cleared up my skin within a couple of weeks. It has also made the texture of my skin much smoother and my skin tone more even. Immediately after washing my face I don't feel that this facial wash has stripped my skin dry, instead it leaves my face feeling clean and soft. I will definitely be repurchasing this product in the future!

I am a forty year old with crazy hormonal skin. I have acne, yet my skin is very sensitive. I have walked passed the Clinique counter with my nose in the air, thinking that this line would be way too harsh for my skin. I never thought that I could use a bar of soap on my face without my face cracking. This soap is very luxurious and lathers beautifully. I remove my makeup first with Take the Day Off balm and then wash with the soap. No lie--this soap, in combination with the Acne Solutions toner, cleared my face in days. I also use the soap on my shoulders before getting in the shower. I make sure to let the soap sit for about 5 minutes and then shower off. This is the only soap that has cleared my shoulders. This little gem is worth it's weight in gold. Don't let the soap aspect scare you away. I use with Retin A at night and have no issues with dryness or peeling whatsoever. God bless you in your quest to find something to help you clear your skin. It's totally trial and error, and very expensive during the process. By far, this is the least expensive thing you can do.
