I really never write reviews but I am a product junkie and I have 2 bathroom full of them. Well about a year and a half ago I had a keratin treatment which total broke off my hair at the root around the crown area. My hair had been bleached for years then it started to fall out. What was left was severely fried dry and damaged. I still get my hair bleached every six weeks, the breakage part was growing slowly but wound up with several layers it was awful. I tried every product on the market. I even used virgin coconut oil which seemed to help. Then one day I was walking thru the store and seen the Loreal Damage Erasing Balm, it was cheap compared to what I have been buying. I decided to give it a try. I put it in while I was in the shower and left it in for only about 3 minutes. To my surprise it does work miracles for the first time in what seems forever my hair looks totally amazing. I love it I can't imagine what it will do after a couple of weeks. I know my hairdresser will be shocked when she sees my hair next week. My hair is finally soft I can't stop touching it. IT WORKS IF YOUR HAIR IS SEVERELY DAMAGED. People that say they didn't notice much DO NOT HAVE SEVERELY DAMAGED HAIR, BECAUSE IT WORKS

Like other L'Oreal hair products I have tried, really nothing special. Did not notice any improvement in my hair over using regular conditioner.

I bought this last week for use after my hair color because I find that I never like the conditioners they give me and they all weigh my hair down, nor do they have any real qualities to repair the damage of the coloring. I bought a jar of this because it was new and read that it had some good ingredients that would actually reverse the damage. I also have eczema on my skin and the only lotion that helps heal the damage has ceramides in it, so I figured if the ceramides are good for my skin, must also be for my hair. Anyway, I like the smell, I don't mind the tub container and I think the product is great. Its only like $6 too and it will probably last me a while since i have shoulder length fine hair. It made my hair look SO good after coloring and I plan on using once a week, didn't weigh my usually lifeless hair down, but gave it body and shine. I also liked that it made my hair smell nice after coloring and I didnt smell like hair dye chemicals for a few days.

Ok, so I'm sold. I have naturally curly, approximate Type III/IV AA hair that is super prone to dryness. I wash and wear my hair and apply heat by blowdrying/flat ironing/hot curling *maybe* once a year. I read the reviews about this product and thought what the heck, I'll try it. Yes sir, it is a miracle worker! From the momemt I put this on my hair I felt the softening. I shampooed my hair first with a clarifying shampoo, which was perfect for readying it for conditioning. The clarifier I use tends to leave the hair feeling stripped, because it truly does remove any product/buildup from the hairshaft. I almost feel like I should stock up on this stuff, since things I tend to love always end up being discontinued.

Planned on getting this either way but recent hair events made me get it sooner than later.
Long story short I had too use Color Oops and do a deep condition before re dyeing to a lighter color......after using the color removal my hair feel drier(wich was expected) well 20mins with this stuff made my hair feel like silk!!!!!!!
I love how thick it is and how it clings to my hair,,,besides using it for use after the Color Oops I planned on getting it because I have very naturally curly hair that is dry anyway plus I dye and straighten.....so this stuff works like magic on my hair!!!! My hair is soft, shiney, silky and it repairs damage, less frizz too....truly amazing stuff!!
My new fave 1x a week conditioning treatment!!

Overall this treatment helped strengthen my very fine strands due to the keratin, and ceramides. This is a PROTEIN treatment for your hair. What I have found with this treatment is that it works best as the first step of a two part routine. If you do a protein treatment on your hair, you MUST follow with a moisturizing treatment, or your hair will have the texture of a brillo pad. Followed with a super rich conditioner (L'Oreal's Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture is the one that I use but any moisture rich one will do, I imagine,) your hair will look and feel strong and soft! The only cons for me are the smell, which is nasty, and lingers, and the fact that it comes in a tub. Luckily this product is so thick it stays in the jar of knocked over, unlike other conditioners I could name, but a tube or bottle is so much easier to work with.

I gotta say, not many things work on my hair, but this does. I have REALLY strange hair where it is fine, yet thick, that curls naturally and gets frizzy VERY easily. I've recently colored my hair which has made it drier/frizzier at the ends, and I wanted to fix that, so I decided to try this. I was pleasantly surprised at the results. After blow drying and styling my hair, it looked very shiny, healthy, and felt very soft/silky, kind of like coming back from the salon. My hair gets greasy easily, but this didn't make it greasy at all.
The scent is nice, and the consistency is thick, but I like that. I also strangely like the tub packaging--makes it seem more special than just any old bottle. It's on the somewhat pricey side for a drugstore product but I think it's worth it, especially when it gives you similar results to what higher-end products do.
In conjunction with this I also use John Frieda Colour Protecting shampoo+conditioner, Organix Moroccan Argan Penetrating Oil and Bed Head After Party smoothing cream. I only use the Total Repair 5 once a week and can see a difference every time I do. I will definitely re-purchase!

My new favorite deep conditioner <3 I am seriously blown away by what this fairly inexpensive hair product has done for my hair after just one use! After using it once, I had a lot of people ask me if I recently cut my hair because it made my ends so sleek and shiny.
...totally didn't think it would live up to the claim it makes about repairing up to a year's worth of damage, but it did!
Then, after a recent box dye dried out my hair, I used this balm and my hair feels back to normal. This product is amazing, and so far it hasn't weighed my hair down with residue despite it being a VERY thick balm conditioner.

Ok now THIS jar got all used up, not a smear left, didn't stop using it to try something else. THAT'S how good it made my hair feel after using it every Wednesday and every Sunday. It's rare that I make it all the way through a product, so when I was literally using a spatula to get the final dabs of this cream out for one last treatment...I knew I had a winner.
I use the matching shampoo and conditioner and I dont really feel as great as I do after using this balm....W O W.

This seems to be hit or miss for people. In my case, I like this deep conditioning treatment a lot. Because my hair is chemically processed, dry and damaged, I have tried many deep conditioning treatments from salon quality to drugstore brands. This particular product seems to work well with my hair which is very dry, coarse, thick and frizzy. My little rant for having coarse hair. If you are like me and have coarse hair, you don't get many people carassing your locks and you don't typically enjoy touching your own hair. My hair tends to feel like dry wires. I remember being little and jealous of the girls with thin straight hair with barrettes placed perfectly with no frizz that stayed nice all day. My hair, even though it was always combed and cut with perfection, was always a tumbleweed by the end of the day. I remember as a young teen going into a Great Cuts to pay for my very own hair cut and the lady pulled and flipped my hair from side to side and made a face and barked "Your hair is so long and so THICK! How am I going to cut this?" I got scared of what she would do to my hair and walked out and never looked back. Years after as an adult, I ventured off to swanky $$$ salons and they all demand to thin out my mop. They pull out the razor scissors and stab into my hair with lighening speed getting all of that bulk out. After years of highend and also main street salons stabbing into my hair, I'm left with tons of rough cuticles that add frizz to my already frizzball head. The problem with a lot of these deep conditioning treatments is that they weigh my already heavy hair down. They make it so flat and drab. I want something that will make my hair straight, frizz free and light as air and hair that has movement! This is probably the best treatment that I've found that actually makes my hair feel light as a feather. For the first time, I actually enjoy touching my hair after using this because it feels like actual hair and not a bunch of wires. What I do is wash w/ my normal shampoo and leave this treatment on for an hour. After an hour, I rinse and blow dry. I don't need any pre-styling treatments or smoothing creams when using this! I can let my hair go naked and it is completely frizz free and calm! I can swing my head and my hair swings! I can go outside in the rain and my hair doesn't whirly up into spiral knots. I can leave the gym and my hair doesn't look like a tesla coil! Am I happy with this product? Hell yes!

I'm not really sure what this product is suppose to do. I have fine hair down to my shoulders and I'm letting the color grow out. I tried this a couple days ago after a claifying shampoo. It made my hair soft looking and shiny but that about it. My ends were still dry and made my hair super frizzy. I like the moisture rush deep conditioner by Loreal so much better!

I'm not normally a fan of L'Oreal hair products AND I have tried almost every low to high end deep conditioner so I'm surprised to say that I love this balm. I have dry dull bleached blonde hair and Total Repair 5 balm gave me sleek shiny soft hair. It helped a lot with the surface frizz my damage hair usually has. Lots of "slip" when rinsing and combing out. I don't mind the scent but don't love the tub packaging.

I had a coupon for this so I decided to buy it as I really like the matching regular conditioner from the line. It has a thick, custard-like consistency and smells wonderful to my nose. I used too much initially and had soft, but static like hair. I lessened the amount to a quarter sized amount and my hair was much happier. It looked shiny, felt soft, had less frizz, and the scent lingered lightly which was nice. Since my hair is highlighted, I need all the moisture and smoothing properties I can get and this satisfied me enough to buy a jar again. Now I want to try the treatment in the blue jar next to see how it compares. If you have dry, color-treated hair, give this a whirl.

I LOVE this. It is one of the only products I have used recently that even makes a difference in my hair. I have thick, coarse waves. My natural hair color is an off-black with red undertones. I have done so much to my hair, I'm surprised I have any left! I've gone from black to platinum blonde more times than I can remember, & back to black & blonde again (you get the picture.) I even tried dark red once. When I was in high school, I used to straighten my hair nearly every day and when in a hurry skipped heat protectant. Needless to say, my hair has been through the ringer. Last spring it finally got damaged to the point of no return. My hair has made a lot of progress now, almost a year later, but it is still not where I want it to be as far as health goes. But I'm working on it :) This product makes my hair feel full and silky again. I find it works best when used once a week, left on for 10-15 minutes. Just be careful not to overdo any 'strengthening' products, as too much protein/repairing treatments can have adverse results and cause breakage if over-used.

I was so excited to try out this new line from L'Oreal. I'm a sucker for advertising, and I really like Lea Michele. I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and damage-erasing balm. I'm sorry to say I completely regret my purchases. These products were absolutely HORRIBLE for my hair! My hair looked so frizzy and damaged after using them. Straw is probably softer and shinier than how my hair felt and looked after using these products! I was shocked at how bad they were. I'm a huge fan of L'Oreal's Kerastase and Professionals lines. They are a lot more expensive than the Advanced Haircare line, but now I know why. I guess you really do get when you pay for when it comes to L'Oreal products.

This is more of an okay product. I was so excited when I saw stunning reviews for it, but when I tried it for my damaged/dry hair, I saw little results :( Darn! I tried it with L'Oreal Total Five Shampoo, and it helped my hair a little, but not like I thought it was going to help. But I didn't get the spray with it(I'm on a budget). However, the scent is Heavenly! I just loved the aroma of it! And I really loved the creamy texture. But that's really all I liked. :( Maybe if you have a little damaged, or you'll willing to spend $5 for it, you should try it :)

Bought this when I was away for the weekend a few months ago. My hair felt very dry and I had not brought any sort of intensive conditioners. Off to the pharmacy! I have tried so many masks and some are good and some ok. Some seem to do nothing. I picked this up bc it was new and hadn't tried it before and loreal has some pretty good hair stuff. I didn't even look at the price at first but I figured it would b at least 15 dollars. I think I paid 6.99?! Ok great. This wAy if it was horrible I could leave it in the hotel room and not bother bringing it back home. Well, this stuff WORKS!!! I have used it quite a few times leaving it in for a few hours or less. It seriously softens my hair like nothing has in a really long time that I can remember. The smell is a little strong but fine. The top of the tub is a pain to open and close. Usually I don't even care about that kind of thing but this is REALLY a pain. Just FYI in shower with slippery hands. Definite repurchase for me and I am always jumping around from product to product.
UPDATE: really still loving this stuff. I am an organic/natural hair product junkie for the most part so it is surprising that I still love this stuff. I am going to buy another tub bc this has consistently made my hair soft and shiny. If I use it too many days in a row then it can get a little staticky so I have to just use it about once a week. It just is sooo much better than any other deep conditioner than I have ever used. U can read all of my other mask and conditioner reviews to c how many I have actually tried! This is a great one and I cannot imagine it NOT at least somewhat helping even the most damaged hair (mine is slightly damaged from highlights and dye right now).

Makes my hair look and feel great, the only thing I don't care for is the packaging-I would rather it be in a tube, but other than that, this is a great hair treatment for damaged hair! Will buy again!

Yes! Made a believer out of me. I have damaged, processed hair that has been highlighted with bleach for years. It tangles easily, breaks easily and the ends get very dry. I used this one time and it made my hair look like different hair. It looks healthy, vibrant, thicker, younger and flowing. I will definitely purchase again. Nice scent too.

I was really excited to try this based on the reviews, but I was disappointed. The packaging is super awkward to use in the shower, I was afraid I was going to drop it.
It didn't do much for my super thick, long, color treated hair. It wasn't really much smoother and definitely didn't repair any damage. I'm giving it to my sister to try, and I will stick to my Aussie 3 minute miracle!
