I loveeeee this moisturizer. I normally am not one to repurchase any product. I like trying new things. But after trying the regular version of this moisturizer, I purchased the dry skin version and I am hooked and just bought my third jar of the stuff. While I did like the original of this products, I figured I could use just a bit more moisture. This stuff is wonderful. Only use it directly after washing your face or it will be too oily. It does linger on the skin for a few seconds but I just apply it and then either brush my hair or text someone back really quickly and normally within 30 seconds this stuff has soaked right up into my skin and my skin just feels healthy and soft. I only use this moisturizer under my makeup and I use it almost as a primer. My makeup lasts longer with this stuff underneath it and it smells good also. Some people complain about the packaging saying it's unhygenic...it's only me using it and I make sure I have clean hands before dipping my finger into it...solves that problem. It lasts so long also. Each jar seems to last me at least 3 months. For a drugstore moisturizer, it's a bit pricey. I buy it at WalMart for $8 and last time I had a $2 off coupon but I've seen it as high as almost $10 at CVS. Whenever you see a coupon for this stuff, cut it and go buy it because you will want to stock up. I will continue to use this for as long as they make it...and when I find out they're stopping making it, I'll buy a few jars to hold me over until I find something similar. I went from NARS to Garnier. I thought I wouldn't notice a difference but it does not refresh and my skin looks old. As a get, it's cooling to the touch but doesnt last or moistuize. I'm still looking for the right moisturizer, trying Clarins next.

Nice moisturizer, softens but doesn`t leave skin feeling greasy. You only need a small amount, too much can dry sticky. Feels cool and refreshing. Love it.

The concept of this sounded great but unfortunately this gave me very little moisture. It's perfect if you have combo skin verging on slightly dry but this did nothing to actually moisturize my dry skin. It feels good going on but there's just not enough moisture in it to keep using.

Not a fan of this product. If you read ingredients :
1) Aqua/Water
2) Glycerin
3) Alcohole Denat .....WHY ?!!!! After this I stopped reading ingredients ......
Alcohol - Usually alcohol and moisturizer are not used at the same time. Alcohol removes moisture from the skin surface. Alcohole temporary creaties a cooling effect on the skin ... However, it is not lasting effect and alcohol will over dry your skin ultimately compromising skin defensive and leave it open to disease and infections.
In the long run , you are hurting your skin ...any and all effects that you may think are helpful for your skin are only temporary .
It doesn't matter what type of skin you have ...this is not a good product to use on your skin .
Shaking my head , researchers in Garanier ....you guys should know better.

This is one of my HG moisturizers and I have dry skin. I have been looking for an affordable gel moisturizer forever! After trying Clinique's Moisture Surge I fell in love with the gel texture but I did not repurchase because of the price tag and how quickly I went through it. I was hesitant to try this for the longest time because of the alcohol in it. Once they came out with the pink version for dry skin I bought it. I am now on my second tub and I am in love. I love the fragrance. This has never broke me out. In fact when I do get blemishes this helps clear it up. I'm guessing the alcohol does this but it does not leave my skin dry. It feels so good on my skin. It has a cooling effect. I usually use this as my night moisturizer. I will say that if my skin is extra dry I may have to use a heavier cream for a couple of nights. For that I usually use Nivea creme in the blue tub.

This product does NOT do what it claims to. Not only does it feel sticky & gross on my skin, but it also did not help AT ALL with moisturizing. If you have very dry skin, trust me... this is not for you. I am not what I would consider an "extreme" case of dryness. My skin wasn't flaking off in patches or causing me discomfort or anything like that. During the winter months I find that my makeup starts to look crusty in certain dry areas on my face, no matter what type I use (liquid, powder, cheap, expensive... I've tried everything!). I tried several different moisturizers, this one included & just wasted a bunch of money. I suppose if you have only very slight dryness this would work, but then so would just about any other moisturizer... and a lot of those don't smell like the funk & make your face feel like a sticky mess. Try Burt's Bees intense hydration day lotion... it has worked wonders for me!

My new hg moisturizer! It does exactly what it says it rescued my skin. I no longer have dry flakey skin. This moisturizer keeps my skin moisturized all day and I don't need to reapply throughout the day like other moisturizers

This moisturizer is great. Using acne products leaves my skin pretty dry and most lotions either don't hydrate enough or they make my skin really greasy. This is perfect because it moisturizers really well without being greasy. I also love that a little of this product goes a long way. I think it took me a little over a month to use a whole jar! If you need some very moisturizing lotions/gel, I definitely recommend to give this a try.

This product SAVED my skin!! I have tried every possible moisturizer from high end to drugstore brands, and nothing worked for my extremely dry winter skin with oily tendencies. Believe it or not, this moisturized BETTER than cetaphil. It has a soothing gel texture that moisturizes without leaving your skin oily. It has also greatly reduced my acne.
Can't say enough great things about it. The only reason I gave it a 4/5 is because I haven't tried it long enough to see.

I love love LOVE this moisturizer! It's by far one of the best I've ever used from the drugstore! I do wish the jar was plastic and not glass though, because I'm always scared that I'll drop and break it.
The product itself feels so refreshing on the skin and you only need the SMALLEST amount. A tiny bit goes a long, long way! I have very dry skin during the winter and it really helps.

I thought this would be perfect but anytime I try to use it I break out! I don't have very sensitive or acne prone skin so I'm not sure what is up with this. It's a shame though with it's price, texture, and packaging (I'm a sucker for packaging and anything pink.)

This product seemed great at first, a nice cooling sensation and my skin didn't feel as "tight." After using the product twice daily for 3 days, I developed a rash all over my face (tiny bumps). This product completely dried out my skin and I would not recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin.

I purchased this over Thanksgiving because I forgot to pack my moisturizer when visiting family. It is incredibly strongly scented and the alcohol is very apparent. It smells like alcohol and burned my skin. I returned it after using it once. I would not repurchase. It's definitely not a good choice for dry skin (not very moisturizing) and definitely not for dry, sensitive skin.

I have used the original version of this product, and I liked it a lot. It was nice for a summer moisturizer, lightweight and not greasy. Of course, since I can't stop buying and trying new products, I have not used it for a while. With winter here, I am dealing with the changes in my skin I deal with each year; drier, more sensitive, flaky. But it's hard to find a more moisturizing product that doesn't make me feel too greasy or make my makeup not apply or stay fresh well. This is fitting the bill very nicely for me.
I am still using my Boot's Expert Sensitive Moisturizing Serum. I apply my Pro-Active benzoyl peroxide first after cleansing in the shower, then the Boot's, then this. The Boot's is amazing for helping my skin, but when it gets colder and dryer, I was finding that it wasn't enough to keep my skin looking hydrated all day. So a layer of this before my makeup has made a big difference. My skin looks hydrated and fresh all day and into the night. It is so lightweight, smooth and non-greasy. It feels like nothing once on. I get no stinging from it. It has a light, pleasant smell that fades quickly. My makeup glides on over it.
It is very reasonably priced to begin with, and Garnier is always having $2 off coupons, so it's a great bargain. Love this product.

Wow...I'm amazed by all the wonderful reviews for Garnier's latest trainwreck. I hate this new pink "moisturizer" almost as much as I love the original green one. When the third ingredient is alcohol, you know you've got a problem. There is nothing remotely moisturizing about it, plus it has a sticky finish that feels tight and tacky. It almost felt like I had a masque on. Lovely. Also, the directions say it's for day and night, but without an SPF it's pretty useless as a daytime product. I had to layer a proper moisturizer over it because my skin felt so uncomfortable. And I have very good-natured skin that rarely reacts to any product. Can't imagine what Garnier was thinking with this product. I'm ditching the pink and going with the green.

I just bought my first jar of this since I have pretty dry skin, and even though the regular Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream is my HG and only moisturizer, I thought I would give this a spin to see if it could kick it up a notch and smoothe out the dryness lines I get along my nose and cheeks.
YES, it can! A lovely moisturizer all around. BUT...unlike the original gel-cream, this one has a *slight* tackiness to it, presumably because it has more moisturizing ingredients. STILL no residue or greasiness so this product will definately be staying on my shelf since wintertime is so much more drying.
Love the jars these gels come in, makes it so easy to dip out just what I need - and they smell so fresh and clean!

I normally wait longer than 5 days before writing a review, but this moisturizer is amazing (HG material, so far)! I have clog/breakout prone sensitive skin that is on the dry side naturally. It gets irritating flaky patches and crepe paper feeling dehydrated in spots during the winter (I’m sure living in Maine and using benzoyl peroxide religiously doesn’t help). I have tried quite a few moisturizers in the last year and all of them have been inadequate for one reason or another - until this one!
The first time I used this product my skin soaked it up and there have been no signs of dryness since. No irritation or breakouts either. I apply a small amount right after I wash my face - morning and night. It’s light and leaves my skin BALANCED (caps lock because bold is not an option… lol). Not at all greasy or even ‘dewy‘; just normal and smooth which is perfect for wearing under makeup. I also really like the gel consistency - which is new for me. It seems to soak in more fully than the traditional cream type moisturizers that leave behind residue. The 24 hour moisture claim on the package is also accurate. I have not had to reapply the moisturizer between washing. I even skipped a morning wash to one day. Did I mention that it’s cheap?!
I wish Garnier would take out the fragrance and color additives, but other than that I have no complaints. Well, jar generally aren’t my favorite when it comes to facial products, but at least it’s pretty. Anyways, I will update in a few weeks for anyone that is prone to getting breakouts or clogged pores from face products.

I've only been using this for a couple of weeks now, but so far I like this moisturizer more than any other one I've tried! I have combination sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts, and so far it has worked very well for me. I apply it both morning and night. I like that it's very lightweight and absorbs quickly. It leaves my skin smooth, even, and it no longer gets greasy as quickly as it used to with other products. My makeup seems to last longer over it too which is a plus, because I normally get very oily and cakey in my t-zone by the end of the day.
Overall I love this moisturizer and would definitely repurchase.
