I give this product three lippies overall because it does moisturize but is not a treatment kind of product. At 7.99 the value cant be be beat. Very pleased to see there aren't any parabens-a huge no no on my list. The moisture is slightly greasy but I think thats my combination/ oily skin. Pluses are that it is light enough for summer and any shine disappears under BB cream and my ever-fabulous Bare Escentuals finishing powder. Add a sunscreen, please! In winter my skin got flakey in spite of moisture. Thank goodness for daily exfoliation. So while it is a good product for my in progress emergency bag, my mature skin needs better care. My bad! Nice budget skincare for a teenager, however. In summary I wont buy again except in an emergency.

Fyi-- even though this moisturizer is marketed for those with dry skin, I think it's better suited for combo-oily skin types. A little background: my skin is combo/sensitive and acne-prone with some dry, flaky patches that I attribute to the bitterly cold winter in Michigan and Retin-A use.
At first, I really loved this Gel-cream and it had potential to be HG...but sadly, no. I enjoy the light texture, which reminds me of a primer because it doesn't have that heavy moisturizer feeling like most products and it dries with a matte finish that doesn't look oily. After a few days of using this product consistently, it hasn't made a difference in my dry, flaky spots and burns slightly if put on top of raw skin- ouch!
This isn't a crappy product by any means, I was just anticipating it to be more moisturizing than it actually is. I'll probably use it a lot in the summer because it's very light and doesn't look shiny, but this is a no-go for my skin this time of year and as other reviewers have helpfully pointed out; it contains a hefty amount of alcohol which may be an irritant for some and promote drier skin over time. I won't repurchase, but you could do a lot worse @ the drugstore!

This is awful.Full of alcohol and this is is a product for dry skin. Alcohol won't do any skin type any favours. It will break down the skin's protective barrier, cause collagen breakdown and cell death. It is used in cosmetics as a preservative or to help penetration of an ingredient. That's ok in small amounts. This cream has alcohol third on the ingredient list! This won't moisturise dry skin it will make it drier.Even If it seems to be working it's only temporary. This rubbish will dry out your skin. What's Garnier thinking?Even if you can't see or feel the damage alcohol causes it's happening under the skin's surface. This cream is also coloured and it contains fragrance, smells like cheap cologne. It doesn't even moisturise. It's useless. This is not skin care, it's ANYTHING but. It's going in the bin. At least it was cheap!

I love this moisturizer! I heard about it from chelsaemadonna on youtube. I'd tried the regular one but it didn't really help. But this dry skin one is awesome! We've had alot of snow this winter and its been uber dry so this was perfect!

I got this because I was in desperate need of a very moisturizing face cream and thought this would be great. Nope, it burns and now I figured out why, it's got alcohol in it. No idea why they would do that but it burns and doesn't help with my severe dryness or rosacea. Expensive too IMO for the size of this jar and what it is, alcohol.

I loved this product. It was very inexpensive, but it shouldn't be! It moisturizes as well as a high-end one. I love the gel-cream formula. I just wish that it was a pump instead of a jar (for hygienic purposes). overall, I thought it was a great product! I would definitely purchase it again.

I bought this product hoping it would help with my very dry, flaky skin. For starters, it smells like a heavy perfume. It was extremely overpowering. It dried really fast and it felt like there was a film on my skin. I used it for about a week, and my skin kept getting drier! I decided to read the ingredients and #3 on the list is denatured alcohol, which explains why it was drying out my skin. This is a waste of money, and I do not recommend it.

I agree w shayem!!! I t does definitely help to help the dryness at the moment and for the moment. It really didn't do much for me and I have dry sensitive skin. I wish it would've worked because the idea of the gel moisturizer is cool!

This moisturizer is okay, nothing to really write home about. I have sensitive/combination skin that tends to lean towards serious dryness in winter.
This gel-cream "takes the edge off" the dryness but doesn't really seem to help with my skin at all; I also had a similar issue with it during summertime because it wasn't moisturizing enough which is strange because my skin is more oily during those months.
All in all; I really wanted to like it but it's just not a good product for me. Won't be repurchasing this.

I was looking for a new moisturizer since my skin is drying out in the desert winter. This is weird product for me. When I would first apply it, it spread well, but as it dried I could feel it tightening on my skin. It did however provide a decent barrier between my skin and the cold for the first week, especially when under makeup. My main problem was that on its own, it made my skin look and feel dull, and lost effectiveness the longer I used it.
