I absolutely love the colors of Lorac lipstick I bought - they have a great range of extremely flattering colors that don't have too much shimmer, have just enough luster, and just look fantastic on.
That said, except for the colors, I hate everything about their lipstick.
Every tube I ever bought melted (MELTED!) on me - and I can assure you, I own no shortage of lipsticks that have never come close to melting and did nothing special or unique with my Lorac lipsticks I didn't do with the others. And considering what it costs (around $20 per tube) that's unacceptable. It also doesn't last particularly long and has a tendency to bleed.

I wear lipstick all the time every day. Lorac has a great lipstick color selection! I use Lorac wet/dry foundation compact, and the tinted moisturizer and love them. HOWEVER I find that the lipstick smell is HORRIBLE! It smells sort of like tylenol and cake. The color is beautiful (Julia, seems a little bronze-ish to me), apply sparingly because it seems deeply pigmented (I always use balm and then lipstick, except for Dior), but I hardly use it because the smell drives me nuts. Great purchase if you can handle the smell :P just not for me. I will stick with Chanel (Bahama (pink-nude), Nieve (taupe),Sexy (red)) and Dior lipsticks (beautiful plums!).

I purchased this lipstick in Nude Scene..and LOVE it! I have fair skin Mac NC20-25. This color looks really beautiful on me.. This nude lipstick has a pretty pink/peach color that is really pretty!..For some reason this lipstick also makes my lips look fuller.. It also smells great, like cake! I think it smells better than any lipstick I've ever worn even better than the Mac vanilla scented lipsticks and better than YSL. This lipstick is just as pretty as any Mac lipstick also..
I will have to mention that Babydoll did NOT look good on me!! (however nude scene is wonderful)

i purchased this in babydoll, which is not a color for everyone (myself included apparently). it's definitely not a swipe-and-go kind of color, at least not without it appearing chalky and streaky like icing. i find that i can pull it off okay if i "blot" it on in gradual applications and combine with other lipsticks/glosses, and can also use it to cut down some of my brighter pinks, but otherwise it's a very mediocre lipstick for its price tag. the staying power is okay, but the consistency is somewhat dry and uneven. i found the synthetic taste/smell very off-putting as well. i would not purchase again.

I bought this in Baby Doll. I actually love the color, and for some reason, it works for me. It looks... (when blotted down, of course) nearly natural on me? Odd. I know. This is a very basic lipstick, so the price is a little high. I don't find it different from MAC (which I think has great lipsticks) except for this: it doesn't set. I don't know if I'm using the right word here... but it tends to collect in any tiny line of the mouth and moves around as you wear it. Like if you pucker your mouth and release it, the lipstick looks all smeary and weird from moving your lips. This is an extremely vague description, and I apologize. I took off a lippie for this weird factor (and also because it really exacerbates any flakies) but otherwise--good product! I probably won't buy another LORAC lipstick, just because the color selection is kind of strange, but MAC nor NARS seem to make a similar color to this. It is unique.

I have this in Meg, which is a coppery brown. I received this as a gift so I didn't select the color, which is not at all flattering with my cool coloring. The formula is decent and creamy, but I won't be repurchasing.

I bought a combo package from Sephora of a Lorac lipstick, a Lorac lipgloss, and a truly great mascara - all for $25! The lipstick goes on easily and the color pigment is really pretty. I have braces and I usually have a problem with color ending up on the braces. I did not have that problem with this product. It also seems to help with the dryness of my lips due to the extreme weather. I am going to have to explore more Lorac products!

LORAC has some very pretty lipstick shades/colors and I have tried a few very pretty lipsticks in this line. Personally these aren't anything "unique" or exceptional, they are just that, lipsticks. I also believe the price tag is way over-inflated for the simple reason that it is not a "unique" lipstick, that one can't find similar in the lipstick department and there are sooo many lipstick's from department store to drugstore that would serve the same purpose as LORAC'S at a much less expensive cost, with the same amount/quanity of product, and also give the consumer a good choice/selection of varying shades and colors to choose from as well. One area in cosmetics that I personally have learned that lesson (mentioned above) from, don't spend a "fortune" on a simple product like lipstick, shop around, it does pay. I won't purchase my lipsticks at a higher cost no matter who the cosmetic line happens to be. In this case, I paid for the "name" and got some pretty lipstick but a a "hefty" price that wasn't worth it to me then or now.

[EDIT] babydoll is definitely not a colour for just anyone, and it's definitely not a swipe-and-go kinda lipstick. use a lip brush to carefully apply, SPARINGLY. i used to hate this product, but through trial and error, i've found it can be made to look nice mixed with nudes and/or darker pinks. on its own though (unless you're very, very pale) it's a fake, tacky, plasticky-looking pink, capable of looking like smeared-on cake icing if you're not careful.
the lasting power is pretty good, and the consistency is okay---a little drying but relatively smooth. just apply a little lip balm before using.

I receive so many compliments on this lipstick, specifically the 'Catherine' shade which they no longer produce (typical). This is an absolutely stunning color....the perfect red if you will. It has just the right blend of pink and red, and the coolness in it is excellent. I'm very fair skinned with blonde hair and this gives me a much needed touch of color. Whenever I wear this lipstick, it gives my complexion an instant brightness, makes my teeth look whiter and just really completes my look. I wear this shade mostly in fall & winter, so i've managed to make one tube last a really long time. Based on my experience with this one color, I'd highly recommend LORAC for great quality lipstick.

Long Kiss is my favorite -- a color I never thought I could wear. It makes me look tan, healthy and doesn't leave me with a visable lipstick line if I really chow down.
Also have Jada for evening and plan to buy Babydoll soon.

I absolutely love LORAC lipsticks. There is something about them that keeps me totally addicted. Vanilla scent and texture perhaps? I shamelessly own about twenty different shades and love to snif on them. The sheer lipsticks are the best - so moisturizing and nice to touch but do not have much staying power. It's probably for the better - creates a reason to pull them out over and over again. Others are not as cake-smelling and apply evenly only over a blotted lip balm (on me at least) but stay on for quite a while. My latest purchase is a Wild Orchid - deep brown with some reddish undertones - amazingly beautiful shade. Claire sheer lipstick (recently renamed as Hope) is my staple for the most effortless application and the most amazing color I have ever seen.

LORAC Lipstick in Farrah. I didn't decide about the color yet. It is very unusual - whitish pinky-peach. Looks so yummy in the tube, but goes on a little too whitish. I guess, it would look much better over a brown or nude lip liner (I was trying it without any liner so far). Smells wonderful.

Nothing about these lipsticks impresses me. I find the color selection very blah, mostly consisting of nudes, browns and greyish tones, with a red or two thrown in for the appearance of diversity. Then, the texture is too thick and cakes up at the inside and corners of your lips. They smell slightly plastic-y to me my nose. The packaging is boring. Everything about these lipsticks are so blah! I found one color that I liked, Ev, which is discontinued. It was a pretty coral, but still it caked up on my lips and smelled funny. I would sugest Lola, Delux, Sue Devitt or Nars for good lipsticks.

I got this in Long Kiss. Everywhere I looked, said this was a perfect light-medium cool true pink with a touch of shimmer...so I ordered this outrageously priced lipstick from Sephora. Hello..this is no shade of pink, not even a rose or a berry or a mauve ..this is in fact a taupe, brownish, orangish color..light and shimmery..it applies moist, but ugly frosty too instead of shimmery.. I hate frosty lipsticks..pigmented and matte is where its at, but moisture/shine/shimmery ones can be good.. Anyway, this is NOT pink..so don't make the mistake I did. I'm still on the hunt for a good light /medium cool or neutral vibrant pink.

I have this in Angel and Meg, both are great natural colors. They are quite long-lasting, smooth textured, lightly vanilla scented. Definitely glad i bought them.

LORAC lipsticks are not talked about much here on MUA but they are totally worth trying!! I used to use them and now since they werent available in person to me in CO i forgot about them. Recently I rediscovered them and forgot how creamy the texture was and the nice pigmentation and color!!
UPDATE I recently bought Karma and my feelings about the creamy-ness and pigment still stand. I realize some folks here hate the smell..but, most lipsticks that don;t have added scent smell like- well, lipsticks.

I'm not a big lipstick fan, but as lipsticks go, this formula is the best, IMHO. It doesn't have that cheap taste that makes my lips feel like they're going to have a reaction (Revlon), or that terrible rosewater smell (Chanel). It's just creamy and lustrous and good. I had to give it one less lipstick, though, because I think they discontinued my favorite shade, Meg. It was the perfect nude...so sad!! I think I only have the tiniest bit left in a tube.

Well, I am trying really hard to like this lipstick but I still have not found one that looks good on me!!! I have ordered 5 of them from ebay and am still looking. I just got Nicole and its way to light and orange for me. I have Kitten coming in the mail so I am hoping that it will work. Any others seem to be too dark for me. Is there one that is in between??? Otherwise the formula is great.
