I use this oil only in the lenght and roots of my oily, fine hair. Around beditime, I do a good massage with it in the ends of the hair, and then go to bed. The morning after, wash the hair with a good shampoo, only or twice if is still greasy. It adds a lot of shine and suppleness. Great value for money :)

Before i use a product i always research the ingredients in it (since i found lavender oil and spearmint in alot of product which irritates the skin...). I'm surprised to find all ingrediants are natural OTHER THEN the perfume/parfum. i find my hair gets dry after a certain amount of time wearing it. If they maybe put almond oil (VERY good for the hair) i would like this product more. Although nice product, dries out the hair after awhile but nice smell and my hair does feel nice after applied.

Love Extraordinary oil! I use it pretty much everyday. I apply it before blow-drying to protect my hair and to keep it looking healthy, I also apply it to wet hair to air-dry, and I also apply it to dry hair to make my hair look beautiful. A few reviewers dislike the glass bottle, but I love it - it gives an expensive and sophisticated look to the product. The oil itself has a gorgeous smell and the consistency doesn't feel too greasy. I consider this as a beauty staple!

For long period of time I used argan oil hair treatments, that would make my hair oily. This product is amazing, however better results are achieved when its massaged into your dry hair.

Heavy packaging and not very good, i used to use argan oil and it was lovely my hair felt soft and stayed shiny, this stuff just makes it feel nice when first applied but soon my hair is left feeling dry and tangly again :( xx

I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do. I had used Moroccan Oil in the past and it made my hair lank and greasy, and I broke out in cystic acne wherever my hair touched my shoulders and neck, so I have to admit I was really nervous. I totally fried my hair a couple of days ago when I dyed it and this product has been a godsend. It went from feeling like dried rice noodles to silky soft from the first application. My hair is very very fine and I was worried it would go limp and greasy. It is probably a bit early to tell about the breakouts, but so far there's no sign.

I LOVE THIS!!
For someone who has done so much damage to their hair, this is an absolute gem. My hair looks lovely, soft and shiny. I even feel compelled to do a slow-mo' hair flick.
I let my hair dry naturally, and then apply some oil to it.
If I feel the need to straighten it, I wouldn't add any more products to it.
Love this so much..that i'm stocking up, so I never run out.

Amazing product! I have wild, dry, frizzy, curly hair and this allows me to blow dry it without waiting 24hrs to calm down and settle. My new favourite hair care product!

Get this as an alternative to Biosilk which isn't as readily available in high street retailers. Good for use before styling. Would not recommend using as a 'mask'. Good for adding smooth gloss to hair, but not as good at preventing frizz. Expensive too.

This is for the red cap bottle, for coloured hair. I've only been using this hair oil for few days but I really noticed the nice, fresh scent throughout the day. The texture of the oil is very "watery", doesn't feel greasy at all. I use 2 drops on my shoulder-length straight hair, which was recently coloured. Apart from the nice scent that lasts all day, I haven't noticed much difference yet. Perhaps I need to try all 3 methods, or perhaps I need more than 2 drops. Overall it's a nice product and a new experience for me.

I like it very much. It is nicely perfumed and its texture is light. It softens my hair and make it shiny and more healthy. Extraordinary oil is not as good as elixir ultime but it is also pretty good. It is absorbed immediately and doesn't leave greasiness on hair.It is also a very affordable product relative to other familiar hair-products. It is definately a good choice for those who don't want to spend much money on hair treatments.

This isn't a bad product per se, but it doesn't really do anything for my hair. I have very thick, blonde, curly and DRY hair, so this oil is too light for me. But i t will probably work a lot better if your hair is more on the "finer" side and don't have a lot of it.
The rating isn't really fair, because I don't dislike the product. It just doesn't suit me. I need to take loads of it (=not very economical), and 15 minutes later it's like I didn't put any in at all.
Good product, just not for me.

I just used the last drop of this product and now it's time to give my opinion about it. I got the one with the gold cap because the other one contains alcohol and I avoid that because it can dry out my hair. My hair is blonde, straight and has normal thickness, but needs some moisture and shine. The bottle is made from glass, comes with a pump and looks expensive so that's a plus. The product is clear colored and has a masculine/herbaly? scent that I don't really like. You can use this product in three ways, before washing, after washing or you can use it on dry hair as a finishing touch. This product only contains a few pure oils and the rest are only extracts. I have to tell you that it does absolutly nothing for my hair, my ends look the same before then after I used this product, this together with the scent will not make me repurchase it again!

This is a great Product! Firstly I have coloured shoulder-lenght hair that is quite dry and damaged. I have tried loads of different shampoos, conditioners and treatments to try to control the damage.
I picked this product up in Boots for half price, the only thing I didnt like with the packaging is that it doesnt have a lid or cap! The bottle is made of glass aswell so be careful not to let it fall. The 100ml bottle will last you for months, even years because you use so little of the product at the time.
I use this product when my hair is damp after shampooing and conditioning, I literally use two pumps for my shoulder lenght fine hair and that is plenty. Rub the product in your hands and then apply to the hair(avoid roots), next blowdry..................and WOW, my hair is worthy of a hair advertisement! Its soft, silky and very managable.

I am a huge fan of hair oils, they're the only leave-in conditioners that truly leave my dry naturally wavy hair soft and shiny. My absolute favourite is Kerastase Elixir Ultime but this its little sister (let's face it, L'Oreal owns also Kerastase so basically these two have lots incommon) isn't bad at all either.
Extraordinary Oil leaves hair soft and managable. I use 4 pumps for my super dry and long hair. The only thing I don't like is the smell. It would be nice if it was delicate but it's so so strong and lingers around you for a long time. The glass bottle is also quite heavy so I wouldn't carry it around in my purse.

I'd gone looking for this and for some reason I couldn't find it anywhere. I went to Amazon and found some, but after looking around I came across the Mythic oil which had better reviews so I gave that a shot and really loved it.
Was out shopping a couple weeks later and finally came across the EO oil for colored hair and bought some. Since then, I've been alternating between the two oils. It's nice, works pretty good, but I think the Mythic oil is the superior product. My main complaint about the EO is that is smells a lot like alcohol when it first comes out of the bottle, and when I've smelled my palms after using it the alcohol smell is still lingering.
I'll continue to use it, but once it's gone I won't be buying it again. I'll just keep ordering the MO, which has a nice 'clean' smell to it.

(this review is for the red capped one)
LOVE IT!
It has a lovely, delicate floral scent (the scent really lasts for most of the day). It's versatility is fantastic, I've used it in all 3 application methods but I personally prefer using it as a 'before shampooing' and 'finishing touch' product (I was AMAZED by how soft my hair was after washing).
I even tried using it in all 3 application methods at once, but it didn't really make any difference to using it in just 1 of the methods.
It has a very non-greasy, watery consistency so be careful you don't get it every where when using it. It's doesn't make your feel oily at all, but leaves it feeling light and soft. The only negative i have about it, is that it's de-frizzing ability is slightly lacking (this might be just with my hair) after about 3 hours my hair settles but underneath still feels a little frizzy (no matter how much i use).
over all i tend not to need as much as they state in the directions, (and i have very long hair - about to the middle of my back) so it should last me a good long while.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
+ve :)
- Does pretty much what it says
- Definitely leaves hair super soft!
- VERY versatile and so easy to use
- comes in 100ml bottle so TRAVEL FRIENDLY!
- bottle is a lovely glass bottle (looks very luxurious)
- very nicely scented
- quite long lasting (a little goes a long way)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- ve :(
- de-frizzing ability is lacking a bit (the only reason why it lost a lippy)
- directions on how to use on the back of the bottle are not good at all. For proper directions I found it's best to watch the videos they have on their website: http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/_en/_gb/minisites/extraordinaryoil/how.aspx?

I picked this hair serum after I ran out of my usual Morrocan oil. It comes in a nice elegant (heavy) pump bottle, very classy..... so I guess it makes a great decoration on the dressing table.
It is not much different from other serums that I have used before; thick, lightly scented, and I believe it contains some silicone in it. However, compared to its predecessor (Morrocan oil), this serum somehow does not seem to smoothen my hair as much. I apply approximately 3 pumps on my thick med-length hair..... it does not weigh it down, but somehow my hair does not appear as smooth compared to when I was using Morocan oil.
Retails at approximately AUD 20 for 100 ml.

I usually use John Freida products for taming the frizz, but as this was recently on offer in Boots I thought I would give it a go. Although the smell isn't as pleasant as the John Freida products, this definitely does the trick and in all honesty I would say it actually works a little better than JF. I have long, very thick hair, so need about 3-4 pumps of this oil, but as the bottle is very big, it lasts ages. I use this pretty much every day, regardless of whethering I'm straightening my hair or not and I have definitely noticed a difference in the quality of my hair; it feels and looks smoother and is very soft! So, although a little more expensive that I would usually go for in a hair styling product, I would definitely buy this again. Well done L'Oreal!
