This is my HG foundation next to the colorstay liquid foundation. The cool thing for me at least, is that the shade for both product are the same. This whipped foundation is a medium to full coverage. It does not look cakey. The only thing I probably don't like about this is that it comes in a heavy glass jar because I tend to travel a lot and its not travel friendly. Also, the fact that it doesn't have SPF, but my moisturizer has SPF. Other than that, I really like this foundation and I will continue to buy it.

I love the formulation of this product, any whipped foundation feels so soft and effortless on the skin, and a little goes a long way. My issue with the product is the colour range, I am an NC15-20 and Australia does not stock anything lighter then "Buff" which is significantly to dark for me. I use this on friends and my mother, and occaisionally when I worked in makeup on clients. It's easy to apply, the packaging looks classy, and goes lovely with a buffing brush. It is a little pricy in Australia considering it is "drugstore" and is approx $40 which is nearly as much as MAC but oh well.
Good product, but not for pale girls

I have been mixing two shades of liquid Revlon Colorstay (Golden Beige and Warm Golden) because I love the finish and coverage but can't find a shade that matches my NC30 skin. The cream version in Warm Golden seemed like it might be the answer to my prayers, because the liquid Warm Golden oxidizes very quickly if not mixed with the lighter shade. This is a thick cream which is hard to spread. The coverage is on the heavy side and tends to cake in my pores. It does leave a lovely glow to the skin and stays color-true. However, I think the color is a little pinker than the liquid version. If the shades work for you, this would be a good choice. I don't care for the heavy glass jar.

DESCRIPTION OF ME ~ Light yellowy/olive complexion with a tendency to get redness on my cheeks and around my nose. MAC C2ish/NC20. Large pores, oily and prone to blackheads and occasional acne. Mid-thirties, some sun damage, (melasma) and fine creases on my forehead.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION~ The party line--> "Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin. And, the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All day flexible wear without flaking, caking or feeling heavy." I agree, it doesn't flake, feel or look heavy at all.

PACKAGING~ Glass tub, reeeally annoying packaging but like others haver said, it does look cool!

CONSISTENCY/TEXTURE~ Creamy, thick mousse foundation.

APPLICATION~ Not very blendable, it dries fast but that's the nature of this type of foundation. Just gotta be fast!

FINISH~ The finish is matte but not cakey. Extremely dry, no dewiness on my really oily skin :o And, tight, it feels so tight. I had a hard time getting this stuff off of my skin! It's kind of like, dare I say, paint.

COVERAGE~ If I use my fingers I get a naturalish medium coverage and a stippling brush (I'm currently using an ELF!) and layer it can go pretty close to full.

STAYING POWER~ This stuff stays without powder like nothing I've ever tried.

SCENT~ It still smells like alcohol tbh and that's fine by me. It fades after it dries so not an issue.

COLOUR~ This is the rub. :( It's impossible to find a colour for my NC20 skin. Sand Beige is the right tone but the shade is too neutral, grey looking, ashy. My skin is really warm and this just doesn't work, just not enough yellow in it. The shade up is too dark. It's unfortunate.

OVERALL~ I had a hard time getting it off so I'm not sure if that's what lead to my skin being a bit cranky and stressed out after using this but it doesn't matter, I would put up with that if the shades were right. Not for me they aren't though which is too bad. Everyone needs a super long lasting foundation for humid days and other times when you want your makeup to really last.

Thank you Seclusae2 giving me permission to use your great reviewing format.

I wanted to love this foundation so freaking bad but its not to special. I waited months before i finally but the bullet and bought if after a beauty guru on YouTube raved about it. For me to be able to wear it I would have to scrub my skin almost raw and moisturize allot. I even bought the Real Techniques Stippling Brush to apply it and I ended up not entirely liking the brush either. The first time I used it, it caked up on my skin, showed allot of flakiness, was so hard to blend out, and I choose the lightest shade because I'm very fair but it looked too light on me. The next time that I used it i had just scrubbed half my face off trying to get skull makeup off of my skin and it worked good enough I wouldn't say it was amazing because it still showed some flaking skin and some acne but it felt weird on my face like it was heavy so I liked it even less. I've come to the conclusion that I'm just going to use it as concealer on my good skin days after I do two more test. My conclusion is that its not dry skin friendly.

Pros : 1) gives you complete coverage if you have acne scars & pimpls
2) last through the day
3) gives you a hint of glow without going too oily

Cons : 1) Jar type packaging. which i find less hygienic, i prefer foundations with pumps.
i find it hard scoop in using a jar, because you end up taking too much sometimes.
2) it MAY cause breakouts. especially if you live in a humid country + oily type of skin
3) feels abit heavy on your skin

Price: $14 USD
Coverage: medium to full
Finish: natural
Texture: super smooth and buttery
Oil-Control: all day

Unlike the original liquid version, it doesn't reek of paint nor does it dry as fast. It has a faint "makeup" smell though.
It evens out redness and discolouration and covers up non-cystic acne and light scars. My dark circles disappear under this on a good day. I put this on in the morning and it lasts a day without touch-ups. Even with an oily T-zone, I barely need powder. Easier to work with than liquid because it doesnt dry in a cpuple seconds but it can feel heavy on my sensitive skin.

Loved this foundation. Found it a bit heavy though. I ended up mixing it up with a bit of my sunscreen for daily use.

Color match was perfect for my fair skin and it lasted well. I work 36 hours straight and I didn't look like total crap at the end of the shift.

I'm quite impressed with this foundation. Liquid CS didn't do much for me, but with summer approaching Vegas and seeing many good things said about this version and how well it lasts, I decided to return to Revlon.

Usually I'm nc25 but lately I'm inbetween NC25 and NC 30, veering towards the latter. I tried Sand Beige 200 initially - too light, clear difference between face and neck. 40ish online swatches later, I went for 320 Warm Golden. I was afraid it'd be too dark for me but it's actually a near-perfect match. It's close to Chanel VA in B30. (To compare, reviews for NARS Pure Radiant TM and Tarte's BB Tinted Treatment say their brands' closest NC30 shades are St Moritz and Medium, respectively, but both were way too dark on me). It's got the right amount of yellow, not pink on me and after wearing this for almost a month, there's been no oxidation issues.

Texture is thick and moussey. I use a plastic cosmetic spatula (you can buy like 20 for a dollar and some change at Sally Beauty) to scoop it from the jar. The jar itself isn't the most travel friendly, nor is it the easiest to dispense product from, but there is worse packaging out there (wide-mouthed glass jars with no pump I'm looking at you). It does look nice sitting on your vanity though.

Coverage - About medium to full. On me, since I'm combo to oily skinned, a cakey finish hasn't been an issue. In cooler weather that may change. IMO, it doesn't look UNnatural and makeup-y, but nor is it the most natural finish. To me, it sits in the middle. Finish on me is satin.

Application - with fingers. Used Real Techniques expert face brush once and it also worked well.

Wear time - Great! Easily wears well through 8-hour shifts, plus more. I wear Tarte's Clean Slate primer and Shiseido Urban Environment face sunscreen underneath. It doesn't keep oil at bay, nor do I really expect it to when I'm outside in 100-degree weather - what I want it do is to stay put and not melt away. Powdering throughout the day is not something I mind. I haven't suffered breakouts from this yet, and I'm acne-prone.

I'm not giving it 5 stars because again, getting it out of the jar can be kind of tedious so it's not a slap-on-and-go kind of foundation and I have yet to see how it'll perform in cooler weather when my skin gets drier (Note: My winter weather runs about 25-30 degrees at the coldest). But so far its a keeper for the warmer months.

I love this! It lasts all day, it has great coverage without looking cakey and it looks great on camera. It is perfect for oily skin it has a matte finish that turns in to a beautiful satin finish throughout the day. Only con is the packaging is too bulky and it is hard to match a shade.

I love this makeup. Let me start by saying I have very fair skin; there have been countless Twilight jokes made about my skin, and it's hard to find a good match for my skintone. The lightest shade, ivory, blends seamlessly with my skin. I get medium coverage using this on its own, and full coverage when I put my powder foundation over it. The packaging is a little clunky (big glass jar) and I paid about $16 USD for .8 ounces of product. However, I don't need much of the product to get good coverage, unlike the liquid colorstay, which I needed to layer to get medium coverage. When I first put it on, it felt very heavy, but after I blended and set it with powder, it felt very smooth and light. This also makes my skin look gorgeous in photos.
The colorstay whipped can end up looking cakey, but I've been able to avoid it caking up by blending it with a brush and using a moisturizer underneath. It does stick to dry patches, so I recommend exfoliating beforehand. I will buy it again for the fabulous shade selection and coverage.

I LOVE this!!! I had given up on makeup and had just been wearing mineral makeup for years. I was SO tired of makeup that looked caked on, settled in fine lines, looked like an oil slick, broke me out and NEVER matched my complexion. After trying Covergirl Clean Whipped Mousse and loving it until I discovered it contained parabens , I asked for something comparable on the makeup board and someone recommended Revlon Whipped Creme Makeup.I would have NEVER tried it otherwise because for some reason, I have always felt like the more I paid for a product, the better it is. This is the BEST I have EVER used!! I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and my skin looks amazing. I bought Natural Tan and Early Tan and while they are obviously two different shades, both are so forgiving that I can really use either one and they both look great. I use an SPF moisturizer, apply a primer and then dab a few dots around my face. I lightly mist my brush with water and blend, set with a powder and It looks so natural but at the same time, airbrushed. It actually looks better the longer I wear it.

Pros: Great color selection (can't judge by the jar because the actual product is darker) that is very forgiving and blend flawlessly, Stays matte, contains NO parabens, and doesn't break out my sensitive, combination skin. Typically, I had to keep reapplying powder with other foundations to keep the oil from coming through but not with Revlon.

Cons: It's difficult to pick the correct color due to the packaging and I would prefer my makeup to be in a more sanitary container even though I also use clean hands to apply. Considering the consistency though, I don't think it would work well in any other kind of container.

I will NEVER be without this makeup!!!
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Way to go Revlon!!!

When I first bought this I was SO EXCITED! I had heard so many rave reviews about Revlon Colorstay. Now, I have normal skin, no acne, a bit of redness around my cheeks, and some occasional spots. At first when I put it on it felt very HEAVY. I didn't think too much of it and just blended it out. From far away it made my skin look FLAWLESS. Definitely a satin finish. But once I got a tad bit closer, I noticed that in random areas around my nose and it lips, it looked incredibly cakey and almost patch-like. I figured I may have just applied too much (even though I used a small amount of product to begin with) and just used a beauty blender to buff away. This didn't work, it remained patchy. (Also the next day I decided to wear a moisturizer and primer underneath with very little foundation and it STILL remained patchy) Now when I first applied the product I LOVED that it matched my skin-tone PERFECTLY in every light (natural, bathroom, store) but after wearing it for a few hours it turned into a strange almost purple-ish hue. I have a neutral to warm undertone and it came out purple only after wearing it for a few hours. As the day went on, it turned even more of an ashy-gray color giving me the appearance of wearing a mask.
Overall, I would definitely not re-purchase and after reading reviews of how it may make you breakout, I'd steer clear.

Colorstay is one of my holy grail products and I love this version of it. It's a mousse and I find the color selection more neutral then the bottle. It takes a bit of practice to find the right amount of product to use. The texture of it makes you think you need more then what you actually do. I like to put a little on my finger tip (maybe the size of a dime) and put it on the back of my hand (so it gets a little warm) and then tap it on my face with my fingers followed by buffing it in with a real techniques expert face brush. It sounds like a lot of steps but I find that it really helps to minimize product overload. It doesn't set as fast as the liquid version but it can look just as cakey if you apply to much product. The longevity of this foundation is amazing like the liquid. It lasts about 5 to 6 hours on my oily skin without a primer and longer with a primer. It doesn't last as long as the liquid but it's pretty close. I do have pretty oily skin so it breaks it down a bit fast. It covers up redness and blemishes. You can make this a full coverage but I find that it doesn't set properly on oily skin ( it might work better on drier skin). The shade range numbers don't match the bottle version. I wear 200 nude in the bottle and 220 in the whipped. I find the whipped is more on the neutral tone and the 200 is more yellow. My concealers work awesome (for those gnarly blemishes) with this and cream blushes as well.

Bought this about 2 months ago. I am in shade Early Tan. It has been hot recently and I swear by this i will feel like I'm sweating so much and I come home and it still looks the same as when I put it on. The application makes my skin look flawless although when I am going to wear this foundation I do not moisturize because I found it made me look extremely oily alot quicker. The packaging absolutely sucks if I twist it too right the inside started to crack. I also travel alot and I do not recommend traveling with this. It is glass and if it moves around in your bag you will open it And all the foundation and settled to one side. The only bad thing I have to say is packaging other than that this foundation is beautiful and I will definitely buy again and again!!

This is my favorite foundation to wear on a day to day basis. It applies nicely with any foundation brush (or my fingers if I'm too lazy to wash my brushes) and a little goes a long way. One "coat" is medium coverage and evens out my skintone & covers most of my redness. A second layer on problem areas like acne scars or current breakouts makes for full coverage. The finish isn't dewy but it also isn't matte so I would consider it to be a natural finish. Because I have extremely oily skin I always set this with a powder (Rimmel Stay Matte is my current favorite). Even with two layers and topped with powder I think this foundation feels nice on the skin (not nearly as heavy as its cousin the colorstay for oily/combo skin). As the day goes on the foundation does not oxidize but I do get oily after about 6 hours because I am cursed with ridiculously oily skin. Lucky me. The only cons in my opinion are the pricing (14.99??! Come on, Revlon. I always wait for a good sale as CVS) & the packaging - bulky! Not the usual full ounce of product! And since all the shades look the same from the outside it can be tricky to find your shade. I have repurchased this foundation three or four times & I will always have a backup in my collection.
