I bought this mascara on a whim, I am not a fan of the wand that comes with the product. The brush is to flimsy, which makes it really hard to curl up on the lashes and give them volume. However, if you use another wand the formula is very nice and gives a nice "natural" look.

I bought this at Target and I didn't like this mascara at all. The wand was flimsy so it was hard to really get into my lashes. It really didn't do much for my short, stumpy lashes.

This mascara was very "meh." It didn't add much volume or length at all, and the formula was a little dry. If this product is more expensive than your favorite mascara, I wouldn't bother trying. The Classic Volume Express is much better in my opinion.

I like how this mascara doesn't make my lashes feel like straw and that they're gonna crack off, the wand really separated my lashes as well without clumping. I also liked how cute the tube is, it was super easy to find it in my purse which I carry my life in. I would totally repurchase this mascara, I really loved it. Added nice volume, not too sure if it held a curl because my lashes are naturally curled on their own. The formula is on the wetter side but that doesn't bother me much, I wouldn't use this on your lower lashes though. Smudged a bit.

There is nothing special about this mascara. The formula is very sticky, the bendy brush is obnoxious. Just not a great mascara, can find better for the price.

Sigh. I really wanted to like this mascara because it was given to me by someone who swears by it. They have naturally long lashes. I do not. I have short thin lashes and tend to stay away from anything that is too wet or has a big brush. Two strikes on this one for me. So here is a bullet point run down of my thoughts:

PROS:
Cute packaging
Relatively inexpensive
Nice glossy thick lashes

CONS:
I was not expecting it to lengthen my lashes at all, but they look like a goopy mess, even shorter than before, and a just an overall dissapointment.

So far this is my favorite drug store mascara. I have short asian lashes, so it holds the curl well, lengthens, and somewhat gives volume.

I had purchased this mascara in the Navy Velvet & Purple Velvet & loved the colour! The mascara itself I thought was okay. It dried out pretty fast & the wand made it a little difficult to apply. It doesn't give a lot of volume or length though. It wasn't too difficult to take off & it lasted pretty well throughout the day.

Its black, thickens somewhat, doesn't clump, doesn't flake, and holds a curl keeps lashes lifted upward all day. Doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes. Is easy to remove. I think its a good everyday formula. I like the vintage inspired packaging, too.

But the brush, I can't get used to! Its the exact opposite of a curling brush, meaning it swells out in the middle instead of going inward. It looks like a pine cone. For me this means it pokes right into the centre of my eye and misses the outer corner lashes. Each time I use, 3- 6 blobs of mascara goes onto my lids which is a total pain to remove without messing my eyeshadow. Then, if thats not bad enough I also get poked in the eye at least once if not twice. But thats not all. After using this for a short time I noticed some lashes coming out that the centre lashes became shorter than the outer ones which has NEVER happened before. I like the formula but this brush plays havoc with my eyes.

I don't recommend using this. On my lashes, it does nothing to elongate or make them look thicker. It just darkens them more, which really doesn't help much since my lashes are already black. It provides a teeny bit of length and just "hairsprays" my lashes upwards to make my eyes look bigger.

The flexible head was no use to me. It didn't move or flex at all, which was pretty pointless. Next time, I think I'll try another of Maybelline's large collection of mascaras.
