This mousse leaves my hair looking dry and dull. If I use too little, there is no volumizing effect, and if I use too much, I can barely run the brush through my hair to blow dry. I haven't found the right amount to give me volume without the dryness. It also leaves behind a residue, which makes my hair feel sticky. On the positive side, it will hold a style because it gives your hair a some texture, but for the price, I expected a much better product.

Ugh, no, ew to this stuff. I'm so glad I just got a sample size of it. I started out using a tiny amount of this just to see how my hair would like it, and it made my hair HEAVIER and FLATTER than when I use no volumizing products at all. It makes my hair sticky and greasy and I have to avoid touching my hair because it makes my hands sticky, too. It doesn't look gross but it feels gross, and it doesn't do what you want it to do. Would not recommend.

I love using this mousse when I want to wear my hair in it's natural wavy state. It doesn't leave my hair crunchy or stiff, but it has a good hold and control. It is a too expensive, especially when Costco carries it.

Again, this product is expensive b/c it's big sexy hair. However, it works pretty good on volumizing and giving bounce. I would pick the hairspray over this though if I had to choose one. It works well with the hairspray, but it is pretty crunchy so I wouldn't use too much product.

This is actually the worst foam I`ve ever used.

Quite expensive, sticky and does absolutely nothing for my hair.
I`ve tried much cheaper brands that works better.

This actually goes for all their products I`ve tried(heat protecting, hairspray, mousse, dry wax etc etc .....Will never purchase their products again.

I really wanted to like this, but in all honesty, it didn't do what the name claims. I read a review that said that it leaves your hair greasy, heavy, and not at all volumized and I'd have to agree with her. It did nothing for me except have me wash my hair again to get this awful product out.

If you want volume, I'd go for Rusk Blofoam. It smells good, doesn't leave your hair crunchy, and it gives you all the volume you need.

I was SO EXCITED to finally buy a 'Big Sexy Hair' product.

I had heard that the company changed the product a couple times, but I was still excited to use this.

It sprays out kind of liquidy and turns into a foam. That's right, sprays. It reminded me of hairspray for the first few seconds.

It gives your hair a textured feeling, which is what I expected from a volumizing mousse.

Honestly, I have used Sally's Beauty store "turn up the heat protectant volumizing mousse'' and the mousse in that is much lighter which makes it easier to distribute through the roots.
AND much cheaper, with similar results.

I honestly like the cheaper results better....

I've only used my Big Sexy Hair Mousse twice, and I have that huge bottle sitting in my bathroom.
If you plan on using this product, find a way to try it out before buying, it might not work as well with your hair type as you expect it to.

I haven't bought this for myself, just for my best friend Flannery, but it really helps out us flat-haired girls! This is a great styling product, I only wish it were a little less expensive. I just sprinkle it on my roots, and then mess my hair about with my fingers, and the texture becomes sort of sticky. Very good to style my short hair and her long hair with. Definitely reccommend. I think it's even better than Aveda's Pure Abundance.

This root mousse does nothing but leave your hair with a greasy, silicone film on it. And have mercy on me, does it stink somethin' awful.

I had high hopes for this product and was very disappointed. Didnt really give signficant volume to my hair, and it made my hair feel sticky and weird. It says to spray it directly onto your hair but I found its better to spray some into your hands and then to put it on your hair.
I've had better results with much cheaper volumizing products such as the the tresemme volumizing mousse.
DONT waste your money on this overhyped product..you can find better products at a much cheaper price

Gives great volume, great on roots, not really the rest of my hair because it is very drying. I alternate this with the use of my Rusk thickr/Aveda Confixor mixture to keep my hair more hydrated.

Great stuff. Only need a tiny amount to achieve great volume. Ive found that the best way to use this is when my hair is still wet as it gives my hair a better texture as to applying it once dry, i feel this turns my hair slightly hard. Would definitely recommend this product if volume is what you want to achieve :)

I have used almost every volumizing mousse on the market and this stuff DELIVERS!
I was skeptical at first (as always) because as we ladies know, products that offer "amazing volume and lift" always only give a little volume and very little lift to otherwise limp hair.
I was SO happy to discover that I got AMAZING volume out of this! and I only just used it for the first time!
It's expensive....yes. I bought my can at walmart for $18 and that's very pricey in comparison to the alternatives, but let me tell you....the higher price in this case DOES mean quality and conformance to standards. I usually tease my hair a lot every single day and I discovered that I really didn't have to with after using this product! I did anyway and wow, I had to calm my hair down. What a dream!
A little goes a long way and (as with any mousse) if you use too much then your hair will feel sticky and a little matted. I little really does go a long way. Use around your crown and the sides of your hair and don't use too much! Blow dry upside down and by lifting your roots upwards to get maximum results.
Use it on damp hair and work it in well. A diffuser also really helps for providing even lifting results around your head.

All in all, this product is expensive but works really, really well! In my opinion it's worth it. It is a big can though, so I expect that it will last me a while.

Happy volumizing!

LOVE THIS STUFF!! i have absolutely no volume to my fine hair, a stylist suggested i try this and i am so glad i did. the people who don't like this are using way too much!! which is why your hair looks and feels like crap. you only have to use a couple sprays and it works great. what i do is pick my hair up at the crown and spray a little there and then spray a section on each side just a little bit. i flip my hair upside down and run my fingers through it at the roots to spread it a little bit and i blow it out upside down. i use a square flat brush for my blow outs because i want straight hair. this product works so well and i love the smell. it gives me sky high volume and it stays all day. i'm not really really fond of the texture because my man is always playing with my hair and it feels kinda weird compared to my usually soft fine hair but hey, it looks awesome! and the feel really isn't that bad, i'm just constantly playing with my hair. but i highly recommend this to anyone trying to achieve max volume.

Would I buy this again? YES. OMG yes. This stuff is awesome. I use it mainly as a root booster, a job which this stuff totally aces. I can get my hair HUGE if I want and if I tease a little too-- well I could easily get massive 60's hair. I especially love that when I use this stuff it's still helping the next day. It makes restyling my hair super simple the next day, I only wash every other day. My hair tends to get oily and flat by the end of the 2nd day, but this helps keep it up and even seems to dry the oil up a bit. I have a ton of really silky, fine hair. This is the very first thing I have found that did anything for me as far as volume or root lift. LOVE IT.

this stuff is great. my hair is really fine and limp and this is the only thing that gives it some body. i apply it to the roots and then blowdry with my hair upside-down. i also love the fact that i can almost always find this in marshalls and get it for a few dollars cheaper than buying it at a beauty supply store.

this stuff is good! i have fine hair that never holds curls or volume or tease. but this stuff gives me a good amount of volume. theres a big difference between my hair with this compared to my hair without. plus, i always find it on sale for 10 dollars soo i never feel guilty when i buy it.

I have very fine, thin hair and this made me look like a hobo. Or like I had washed my hair with glue. It stuck together in clumps. I gamely gave it a few tries, spraying it into my palm and directly onto my head. Just...no. If you also suffer from fine, thin hair, I don't suggest this product.

Wow! A co-worker recently told me about this product and how much she loved it, so I thought I would give it a try. I'm always searching for a good volumizer and am quite pleased with this! With all products I have used as with others here, I have learned to always put them in my palm..I've never had any luck with anything spraying it directly on my hair except hairspray, of course. And as others have said, less is more with this product. A little goes a long way. I have no complaints about packaging, scent, etc.. Over all, I am very happy with the results - volume, bounce, shine & hold. (For reference, my hair is fine, yet not at all sparse with natural wave; very small amount of highlights at this time.) I definately will re-purchase. 1 downfall - price is relative to people, however me being a bit on the "cheap" side, I find this to be a tad bit on the pricey side, however I still will buy it! :)
