This Bronzer is a Holy Grail for me! Especially during the winter months when my skin is lacking a bit of color! It smells wonderful! It looks natural! And it goes on very nicely! I would recommend this bronzer to anyone! If you are very fair and most bronzers make you look muddy, try this! I think you would really enjoy it! :)

Love this bronzer! It smells amazing and doesn't look orange! The staying power in my opinion is not the best that is why I have it a 4 out of 5... I do find myself grabbing for this bronzer a lot!

I'm always very wary of bronzers. First, they always look orange on me, even the Benefit Hoola bronzer. Otherwise, they are glittery and chunky and just looks bad.

But....my foundation was a shade too light and I wanted a sunkissed look for summer since my face tan has not caught up to my chest and arms.I was originally going to get this in the darker color, and then decided to get the lighter shade just in case. When I suddenly got tanner (NC30 to NC40 in a week!) I was afraid that the lighter shade I ordered online would be too light.
Nope!

It gives such a beautiful and matte color to my skin that doesn't look forced, streaky, heavy handed, and most importantly, orange! It takes about one full sweep to bring color into my cheeks and I use this on my high cheekbones to bring them out, as well as on my temples for a faux tan.I have yet to contour my nose with this but I'm very suspicious that it will look absolutely natural.

Beautiful packaging, looks great on my counter.

The one con is the fake chocolate smell....reminds me of the chocolate milk cartons the first graders I work with spill, or sugary candy. Yuck. At least it only lasts a few minutes on my skin. If you smell it from afar, not so bad. Don't put your nose to the powder if you don't like chocolate. I eat chocolate by the ton and it still smells gross to me. Also, I cried a few tears the other day and it streaked through the bronzer LOL so I guess don't get your face wet or cry over stupid things when you have this on.

Overall, my HG bronzer for the purpose of bronzing. I can't say this is pigmented enough for contouring and sculpting, but I think the original shade would work for that.

I really like this bronzer! It's matte which is great, it's not too dark and definitely not orange. This suits me better when I'm a little bit paler as my skin is olive toned, but I also have the darker version which is great for the summer, not that I use it much when I'm tanned but a little extra definition is always good. The smell... now, I adore that smell. I love it so much: it truly smells like cocoa. Good staying power, good quality, doesn't break me out and doesn't break the bank. I've had mine for over six months of regular use and I'm still far away from hitting the pan so it does last a while. Absolutely recommend this.

Love this bronzer, give a slight glow without the prominent hash contrast on my complexion. Smell yummy, nearly hitting pan.

I reached for this more than my Nars Laguna and Tarte Park Ave Princess Matt bronzer.

Will repurchase once I hit pan.

I really like this bronzer because I use bronzer to contour rather than to tan my skin and it is so difficult to find a matte bronzer for fair skin! This one is really good for me though; it applies and blends well and the colour is nearly perfect for me (although perhaps still a tad too dark). I know a lot of people find the chocolate scent too much but I personally really like it! I think the packaging is really good quality too - as it should be when it costs as much as it does, that's its only downside!

I got the Milk Chocolate bronzer because it's lighter than the Chocolate bronzer they have. I wanted something that would come off more natural yet I'd be able to contour my face and give me some dimension. I'm an NC30-35 in MAC and at first I thought this bronzer may perhaps not even show up on me but after applying it to my face it worked beautifully. I love that it smells like chocolate and also the fact that it's matte. I'm almost about to hit pan on it, and when I do I'm most likely going to repurchase it again.

I got milk chocolate bronzer because I planned on having at least a little bit of color during spring break. This product did just that. I use is around my temples and as a blush. I am very fair so I use just a tiny bit and blend it as much as I can. Expensive, but I did not want to risk having a muddy or orange face. It smells wonderful too :)

You would be surprised how hard it is to find a non-shimmery blush that is suitable for fair skin. This is a very nice bronzer for fair skin. It is natural looking, smells yummy like chocolate and has a nice big mirror in the compact. It was very hard to find but I found it in a sephora inside jcpenney and am so happy I did.

When purchasing a Too Faced Chocolate Solei bronzer people need to make sure they are getting the right one. This review is for the MILK chocolate one, which is the lighter of the two. This works wonderfully for me because I am too light skinned to use the regular unless I want to look like I have a huge dark brown streak on my face.

This is a MATTE bronzer. I needed one for contouring that was light enough and not overly orange, which is always easy to see for some reason on my face. Granted it is pricier than I would like to pay for a bronzer, but because it is the only one I have found to be light enough, not so orange, and matte, I will pay the price. I use it to also bronze up my neck and shoulder, chest area when wearing makeup to ensure everything looks blended because in the winter my neck and chest can be extremely pale.

I take off a lippie because of price and the smell. YES it does smell like chocolate; like cocoa powder for hot chocolate or baking. And on the package it says it contains some, probably the source of it tasting sweet [it can fly into your mouth during use.] However, I find the scent doesn't appeal to me because it's not the most fresh smell and a little over powering. I wish it wouldn't have to compete with any lotion or perfume I plan am wearing.

So if you need a lighter matte non orangey bronzer and willing to pay a higher price for it while not minding the smell of chocolate, go for it!

I rated this a 3 lippie because I honestly didn't know which way to go with this. But here is my experience:

CONS:
- I had an instant burning sensation after applying this. I had ignored this feeling when I used Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes and ended up with red welts on my face. I gave this bronzer two tries to be sure it wasn't in my head...it wasn't. I had to return

-I love that it is light...and I don't mind that it is so yellow toned as I felt it warmed me up with the usual red/orange tones. But I am NW20 and it was light, but I liked that for a subtle contour and a warm glow. If you want more darkness or heavier contour, go for the Chocolate

PROS:
-I loved the way this stuff smells.
-I liked the color selections and lack of orange/red tones.
-Matte
-I wanted THIS to work because of the two above. When I returned the sales rep kept trying to offer other bronzers to me, but I wanted this because of the color and smell and nothing else came close to it.

This smells super yummy, but it pulls orange on my very pale skin, thus not working as a contore shade for me. With a light hand, I can wear this as a nude blush. Glad I got a sample size with my VIB points and didn't buy full size. I'll stick to NYX Taupe for contore.

I bought this to replace my Bare Minerals bronzer in The Skinny Dip, which I purchased to replace my EL bronzer in Bronze Goddess. Bronze Goddess pulls red on me, and The Skinny Dip pulls orange. I wanted a true matte bronzer that I could trust to stay true to the color in the pan. This bronzer fits those criteria. I works well for contouring, and sometimes I wear it when I want a neutral blush. The color lasts all day. I like the packaging. I'm not impressed by the smell, which is exactly like cheap hot chocolate. I will repurchase this simply because it performs well and I like the color.

This bronzer is too muddy for me. Didn't blend easily, although I eventually worked it enough to blend it in. Doesn't last long and oxidized quickly. I got this in a sample set from Sephora, I would not purchase the regular size.

Argh. Well. I'm begrudgingly giving this 5 lippies.
The #1 most important thing to know before purchasing this bronzer: Check the box to make sure it is the color you want! There are two colors: Milk Chocolate, and the original Chocolate soleil. And it is not clearly marked on the box, which is a pain when you are rushing to finish errands. Yes, I wanted to buy the original color and came home accidentally with the milk chocolate version, but I really don't want to drive all the way back to Ulta (hooray for living in a rural area said no makeup junkie ever).
But it's totally my fault for not taking the time to be sure I had the right product. And it totally deserves the 5 lippies, I'm just frustrated because I don't want it as much as the original. Here's why it gets 5:

This is the perfect matte bronzer. Hands down. Too Faced really nailed this one. The texture is so smooth and soft, it almost feels creamy.
And my goodness, the smell! It smells so sweet and yummy! This smells like real milk chocolate, a little more on the sweet, vanilla, sugary side than actual chocolate. The chocolaty smell is not as strong as the original Chocolate Soleil, there is a marked difference.
The color is gorgeous. I truly feel guilty that I'm not satisfied and I still want my Chocolate Soleil. This color is a soft brown. No icky, unflattering orange or red tones. I am the lightest shade they offer in Lancome's line of foundation (and they carry practically the lightest you can get on the market) and the color is gorgeous and subtle, the perfect glow. The color stayed the same throughout the day, and I only had to do a little touchup towards the end.
The packaging is very pretty, it's shiny and sleek, and not too bulky. It holds a good amount of powder.

Now at this point, you may be wondering "Wow this bronzer sounds great, but why the heck is her quest for the holy grail still continuing?!"
And that's where the price factor comes in. A compact of this is $29...it's not obscene, but it's definitely not cheap! The reason why I wanted Chocolate Soleil was not because I am super pale and want to cake it on and make myself 5 shades darker, but because I've heard how pigmented it is. With the original version, I'm so pale it would take one swipe to get enough for contouring. With the milk chocolate version, I need to go through 3 times more every use.

Bottom line for pale girls: If you don't mind spending this much money for bronzer, and you aren't super savvy with contouring and blending intense colors, then this Milk Chocolate color is the product for you! If you want to save your money for other things, and don't mind taking time to blend out the deepness, then original Chocolate Soleil is the one to get!

HG matte bronzer! I really really am in love with this bronzer. Admittedly, I am a bronzer addict. This is unfortunate because I am super pale (think sheet of paper, can't wear any mac foundations, etc). I have tried every bronzer that has been hyped on here, blogs, youtube, etc, and some have worked with an extremely light hand, but some ended disastrous. I bought the original version of this when it first came out, and I really loved it. It really is too dark for pale skin, but applied with a light hand it gives a gorgeous warmth with neutral undertones. I was really excited when this came out because I figured it would have the same neutral undertones, but more foolproof for pale skinned girls. Man, I was right! This bronzer is perfect. I rarely have to worry about over applying, which means this is my go to bronzer in the morning. I literally just swirl my Bobbi Brown Bronzer Brush in this and apply to the outsides of my face using the E/3 technique. It gives a gorgeous light warmth, subtle sculpture, and a glow to my skin, and it manages to do all of this while being matte so it's perfect for my combination skin. Another thing that is amazing about this product is the fact that it is quite neutral under toned leaning yellow, meaning it will not emphasize any pink tones in your face which could cause you to look sun burnt (I find a lot of brozers do this to my pale skin). Overall, if you're pale and looking for a great bronzer that's capable of contouring and offering warmth, or if you're slightly tanned and looking for a nude blush, this is your product. Definitely will always have a compact of this in my collection. I would definitely recommend this, along with the original if you're a bit darker!

FYI: I am a Latina woman with very fair olive skin, combination type (dry forehead, oily nose & chin, normal cheeks) in early maturity (minor facial lines, redness). Shade refs: LM Creme Silk in Cream Ivory, Bobbi Brown in Warm Ivory, Revlon Colorstay in Buff

I can't believe I bought this product, and even tougher to believe how much I like it. Bronzers have never worked for me, always looked phony and unattractive. Since my skin tone has actually faded as I've matured, I never imagined I could wear bronzer well.

This soft, light brown pressed powder works beautifully with fairer skin tones. It goes on soft with a natural matte finish. The color is more "lukewarm" than golden/warm and should work for all but the coolest skin tones. It's a definite multi-tasker -- bronzer, contour powder, blush, eye shadow, a powder for medium-to-deep skintones -- and it blends beautifully. Wear is pretty good, too.

I love the cocoa fragrance and don't find it overpowering, but it might be a dealbreaker to some. I think it's overpriced, but it doesn't have a comparable DS counterpart, so I'd keep buying if I needed it.

HG bronzer. I have bought so many high end and DS bronzers and this is what looks extremely natural on me. I have had the problem of bronzers looking dirty, fake or too warm/orange. This is the perfect color. I have red hair, NC 15 yellow skin and green eyes. This doesn't pull orange and looks very natural. I have used it everyday since buying it a month ago and it barely even looks like I have used it. I will buy this again and again and again and I hope to GOD they do not D/C it or I will cry
update: 1/8/2013 still love this stuff! HG x98094809809 :)

Good things come to those who wait! Yes, I've been reviewing reviews, here on MUA, on this wonderful bronzer! And finally after a couple years of yearning, I pulled the trigger at Sephora's VIB sale last week.

This is a lovely, gorgeous smelling, bronzer that indeed gives that bit of contour or even a nude blush, on the hollows of your cheeks. No messy powder, no Gawd-awful splotching of muddy-ness, and last no bling-bling or shininess or sparkle that looks, oh so fake.

Instead, it's the perfect bronzer. It's contained in nice compact, equipped with a mirror. I love it. It's staying power is great too, I might add. My color is pale, NC 15 so for us fair ladies, it's the perfect solution. I would definitely re-purchase, although the compact is pretty large, and I daresay it would take some time to use up this baby. So you do get plenty of product for the money!
