About me: NW13 (neutral-cool toned, very fair), blue eyes, Color season is True Summer, Baumann Skin Type is OSPW.

This is a lovely matte shadow that blends well and provides a soft cool toned gray for a lovely smokey eye.

This is one of the shadows that did not work for me but I am sure it will work for people with cool skin tones. I am NC35 but not as yellow with black hair and light brown eyes. I was looking for a gray that has some violet shade in it. This did not do much for me so I returned it.

Mac Scene eyeshadow (Satin finish) is one of those unique shadow colors for me that there is nothing like it. When i run out i repurchase. They describe it as a muted blue- grey and it has no glitter or shimmer at all. I have tried to find a cheaper dupe (look-a-like) but i can not find anything to compare. Every grey shadow i try usually has at least a little bit of sparkle, is too dark or too dull/ light. The color says its muted but since this is a satin finish there is a bit of a sheen to it. Just enough to give it some life without ANY sparkle! I feel like this is the perfect grey shadow that can be used for a soft look going to work and also used in a dramatic smokey eye to go out! It is very soft, blend-able and long wearing. Mac shadows are $11.50 for a refill pan or $15 for a full shadow. This is a quality shadow and its great because with MAC there is selection of finishes and colors to choose from. You can also return the containers to MAC for a free full size lipstick! (see below) i have never bought a lipstick from them yet...but am in the double digits!

I know you're not supposed to use greys for black eyebrows, but my curiosity got the best of me. I used to use Copperplate to fill in my very sparse black brows, but I found that it pulled way too brown. I am pale and I have jet black hair; having a hint of brown in my eyebrows looked weird and unnatural. I tried Scene to fill in the sparse areas (just the arch and the tail, not the inner corner of my brows otherwise I'd look too scary) and WOW it looked so natural. It actually looked like I had a full set of brows! I haven't used this as an eyeshadow yet but I highly recommend this as an eyebrow filler for Asians with sparse brows. Just make sure you blend well with an angled brush!

I really love this color. It's a pretty blued out grey that is really lovely. I don't find it to be sheer at all.

First of all I do not understand how people are saying that this is sheer! For me I barely touch my eyeshadow brush to it and it comes out super dark and pigmented! In terms of blendibility it is more difficult than some MAC shadows but thats just because of the finish. It's a decent shadow, although a little more blue than I was going for. All in all a good shadow.

I bought Scene because I couldn't get my hands on Sephora City Fog. I don't like the price increase with these.. it was over $16 with taxes. Blah!!! I was looking for a light/medium matte gray with decent pigment. Some would say this is too sheer, but I don't think so. It's purpose is to be used as a layering shadow. So, you'd mix it with other shades or use it as a gradual smokey shade to blend everything together. I also like it as an all over color used on it's own for daytime. You can wear smokey eyes during the day with a pink lipstick instead of nude, and go light on the application. If the surface is too hard or you aren't getting pigment, it's because this is a satin. Satin's tend to be more luminous or sheer. Brands press shadows and apply a chemical in order to keep them from breaking while being shipped. I think I still want City Fog, but this is a good dove gray. It might not work for blue eyes because of that slight blue undertone, but all other eye colors will be enhanced by it.

Scene is a wonderful, cool, bluish/lavender gray. It works well for a smokey eye which is difficult for me to find as I'm NW5-10ish (depends winter v.summer). If applied lightly it also works well for neutral looks for during the day, too. I use the shadow multiple times a week and have purchased more than once. Not as easily blendable as other Mac shadows - but not difficult to blend either. Will definitely keep in my Mac palette.

I don't love this, although I use it pretty often as a crease colour when I'm doing soft smoky eyes. It doesn't have a great staying power and I find the colour payoff is also quite flat. It's very decent, but for the price I expected something better.

This is part of the grey family in my neutral pro palette and it's lovely- a nice mid-grey with a very slight violet cast. Looks lovely as a smokey eye with Print in the socket line, or you can use Scene in the socket line and something lighter on the lid. The texture isn't as easy to blend as some other MAC shades but it really is a very flattering colour on everyone.

This is a great grey w/ a slight lavender tint. MAC says a blueish gray, but I see more of a lavender. It is perfect for my NW20 brown eyed, black/brown hair skin. And it doesn't offend or bring attention to my dark under eye circles! I love the Satin finish too. I wear this with Benefit Skinny Jeans for a quick, cute smokey grey eye. Perfect for winter. I also put this over NYX's Milk pencil on the lid and just plain Scene in the crease....LOVELY! Again, no issues with it bugging my dark undereye circles and it makes my brown eyes POP.

Scene is a gorgeus cool grey color which creates a timeless look.
I pair it with Perky which I believe was a LE color and Yogurt.
Scene can be paired with many other eyeshadows, its one of those colors that should be a staple in everyones eyeshadow collection.

I bought this when I was starting out and wanted an easy smokey look. I used it just after I bought it and thought nothing special of it. It was sitting there unused till I decided to depot all my mac shadows and organised them all in a big palette. That is when I realised that it is a special colour and very versatile for any look, and not just smokey. I love using this in the crease with anything, or on my lower lashline sometimes too... Love!

Scene is a really pretty grey that I've combined with a number of different eye shadows. I've used it both all over the lid and just as a corner/crease color, and it works both ways for me. (NW15) It's not the easiest texture, as some others have mentioned, but I have an easier time with it than I do with some other eye shadows (even from MAC). To be honest, I don't mind working with it. Scene is one of my go-to colors, so I use it often and would definitely repurchase.

I've had this eyeshadow for the longest time but for some reason I wasn't using it. A few weeks ago I decided to use it, and have been using it every day ever since. This shadow is a light/medium gray with a blue/purplish undertone. I use it in the crease and the outer corner and blend it with brule, which I use on my lids. Scene brings out brown eyes beautifully with it's blueish undertone. Blue is the opposite of brown on the color wheel therefore is known to make brown eyes stand out (which it does). It's a very work appropriate color and yet I would and have used it on nights out. It blends amazingly with Brule, the only color I have tried blending with so far. I'm happy!!!

This comes out medium purple or perhaps dark lavender. I would not look good with a shade this deep on the lid or crease. I've had it for years and just put it on as a liner today with an old mid-beige from Cargo as a wash. Scene is a bit too light to use as liner unless you want a very soft look. It did make my hazel eyes look greener though.

Beautiful gray! I like using this with blacks to create a smoky eye when I'm going out, or with browns for a day time look.

I agree with the reviewer below...this has so little pigmentation in it (i.e. incredibly sheer). you would need to use it wet in order to get some kind of coverage...i find this is mostly the case with a large number of MAC matte eyeshadows. For the price (AUS$30), this is so not worth the price. Go elsewhere, and always ALWAYS test the pigment out before you buy...take a finger, swipe it across the shadow and wipe it on the back of your hand. If the colour does not show up the same as in the pot, it is not worth buying...you will spend forever trying to build it up. Will not repurchase.

Wow, what a disappointment. Little pigmentation, VERY hard to blend, and I hardly ever use it. I thought that a grey would be a nice color to add to my neutrals but this falls short.

Muted blue-grey, satin.

Scene is a matte light grey colour I use mainly for daytime smokey looks. It's easily blended to whatever colour you choose and since it's grey, goes with anything and matches all skintones. It's nothing special in itself, but if you're preferential to MAC's Matte formula, then it's good. Pigmentation is great and intensity can be layered or washed out easily.
