I'm obsessed with having soft skin but it's a struggle because my skin gets dry in the winter time. I also hate using body lotion every night because of that thick coated feeling. Alternating this with the Cerave body cream only 2xs a week keeps my skin super soft. It is expensive if you're using it as a body lotion but I find I don't need much and it lasts longer than a typical body lotion for me. It's a lot nicer imo to use compared to a typical body lotion bc it's so light/sinks in right away and I need to use so little of it. I love it for my face too.
Amazon has the best price ($12 dollars as of April 2013) and it's available with Prime shipping. (You can get free Prime shipping for a year if you're a student. I find I easily make up the yearly cost of Prime shipping by saving on gas and it's so convenient.)
Cerave says on it's website that the company doesn't test on animals- hopefully this is true.

I was looking for a gentle exfoliant that was very hydrating. Exfoliants dry me out, but I did need them. This is very hydrating so that helps. It comes in a very thick base, that is much thicker than the PM or AM even. I got it mainly for my face, which has some breakouts and redness, as I am very dehydrated and for KP on arms and dry elbows and feet. It is $17, you but get a lot more than the PM or AM, but less than the regular lotion. I think many would find this too thick.. But if you have dry rough skin, that can be a plus. It does feel a bit greasy. I'd say it has a consistency of one of the heavier Eucerine lotions. It does have mineral oil, which might make some break out. I think it has both a PHA and a BHA, but with a high PH level that would make it less effective.
Update: Did exfoliate, but I think also clogged t-zone. Tricky for face. But seems good for KP.

This is for the CeraVe SA renewing lotion. I am on my second bottle (comes in 8 oz pump) and loving it. My skin is dry, extremely dry in the winter and I get little bumps on the outside of my arms and sides of my body. After using this exclusively on my body after showering for two weeks the bumps were gone and my skin is nicely moisturized from shower to shower (which usually is not the case). The salicylic acid, ceramides and vitamin d are working magic on my skin. Purchased a bottle for dh, usually his skin is not dry at all however this winter is brutal and he is enjoying the benefits of the moisturizer as well. The container says "exfoliates, softens, & smoothes extremely dry, rough, bumpy skin, ideal for the body" It lives up to this claim, how refreshing is that!

At $16, this is a bit steep for a drugstore product, but it works wonders! I guess I'm in the minority here, as I only use this on my face. It bugs me that it says "Ideal for the body" on it, because to me, it's ideal for facial skin, and doesn't do much for my kp on the back of my arms or legs. It does help breakouts heal super fast, and is keeping my blackheads in check, and reducing the amount of whiteheads I get.I use this every night after I wash and tone my face, and the huge container with a pump has lasted about 5 months and still seems over halfway full. Love it.

I found this lotion to be much richer than the regular CeraVe lotion. It's thicker and heavier but really moisturizes and leaves my skin glowing. I have very light KP on my upper arms and within a week of daily application, CeraVe Renewing got rid of it. My skin tone has improved too-- it looks much more even and feels smoother. Wish I could try this on my face but as I am starting Retin-A right now, that's not a good idea, LOL. It's a fantastic body lotion though and it really delivers. HG!

This is the only AHA product I've tried that doesn't stink like rotten milk. I get bumpy skin on my upper arms and this really helps. I use Cerave Hydrating Cleanser as body wash, a Sprite shower filter, and Cerave SA before bed which keeps my skin smooth and soft. I'm also extremely sensitive and this doesn't bother my skin at all though I've never tried it on my face. A bit expensive but not when you compare to Amlactin KL and Lac Hydrin, they're just as pricey.

When I first started using this product I really didn't think it was anything special. Not much of a scent, nothing unique about the texture. I figured I would use it up and try something else. It was only after using it for about a week that I started to notice that I no longer had any razor bumps from shaving, the dry patches on my knees and elbows were no longer noticeable, and the KP on the back of my arms was drastically reduced. I'm going to try mixing this with my facial moisturizer next since I've heard people were having good luck using it under makeup. It's on the expensive side, but for me having something convenient that I can find locally that actually produces results is worth it.

I would have given this product 5 stars if it weren't for the ridiculous price. Cerave products are generally more expensive than most other body lotions for the amount you get, but this one really takes the cake. 8oz of product for $15 compared to cerave's other lotion, 12oz for $12. The only real difference between this lotion and cerave's regular lotion is some additional mineral oil and bha (salicylic acid) neither of which justifies the drastic price jump nor the container shrinkage. While I do think this works well in terms of keeping my body smooth, I can buy straight up BHA gel and mix it with any regular lotion and get the same effect for a whole lot less, so that's what I will do when this bottle runs out. Hopefully they will come to see the error of their ways and put a realistic pricing on it. If you're using this only for your face, then I see the value of it, but if you want this as a body lotion you better be ready to shell out at least $45 per month, probably more like $60-75 as I can easily go through a bottle a week using this on my body daily.

I'm gonna be the Debbie Downer for this product, well Donnie Downer i guess, since i'm a guy.
My skin. I have KP on the backs of my arms, and i'm constantly on the search for something that will make the really ugly red dots go away. I've tried PC BHA lotion, her AHA gel, alpha hydrox 10 lotion, coconut oil, shea butter, scrubbing, a lot of stuff. I thought this might be the answer to my problems since I really like CeraVe's other stuff but this seems to be a miss.
To start off with, my skin is already smooth and soft, so i don't need any help with that, just something to treat the red bumps and dots on my arms, thats where BHA might help. I would scrub with my salux cloth and then apply this right after the shower. one pump per arm. It's a bit stickier and tackier than the traditional cerave lotion i'm used to. but its nothing i can't handle. it didnt really do much to reduce the appearance of my kp. that and the price tag for what you get put me off from repurchasing this product.you get a tiny 8oz bottle, as opposed to the traditonal cerave lotion which gives you 12oz. and this costs around 17 dollars, compared to cerave lotion which costs about 12. So......it's pretty expensive. I wouldnt mind paying though if it actually worked. Interestingly enough.... i think Gold bond restoring is actually helping lighten my KP since it has a huge amount of urea, which ive read is really good for kp. I'll finish up the cerave and keep using the gold bond, but next i plan to try avene akerat.
Update: finished the bottle. Didn't do a thing for my kp

I purchased this mainly for my lower legs. Whenever I shave my legs get really itchy. This really helps tremendously. There is no fragrance, which is great for me, as too much fragrance can really irritate me. I use the regular lotion for my face and on occasion the cream. I have to admit that for the price, you really do not get much and this particular lotion even has less than the original. It works and I guess thats what matters, I ask Coria to send coupons in the mail so that helps a lot. They are more than willing to do so.
Update: Nevermind, this stuff is entirely too sticky! I wish I could return it.......

This lotion is like the guy that does not wow you at first, but then grows on you. There is not really any smell and the texture does not feel especially luxurious. However, after a month of using this as my after shower body lotion, I have almost no ingrown hairs on my legs (due to the salicylic acid) and the dry patches on my elbows are gone. This is definitely a keeper for those with ingrowns, bumps or dry patches.

Currently my favorite body lotion. I tried for years to use Amlactin and just couldn't get past the sour milk smell and sticky consistency on my skin. This smells like nothing, in the perfect consistency where it sinks into skin quickly but leaves skin moisturized, and has fixed my dry, bumpy arms and legs. I love it. I hope they never discontinue this.

Best SA body lotion hands down. I suffered for years with unsightly bumps on my legs and this completely cleared them up. I am now able to wear shorts again without embarrassment!

New lotion by Cerave that contains salicylic acid along with their usual ceramides and vitamin D. It says on the bottle that it's great for the body but I did try on my face and while it didn't aggravate my rosacea it was a tad too sticky for my personal preferences so not sure if I would use this past winter on my face. In the morning my red marks from a rosacea breakout were slightly diminished. However I do like it on my arms and legs and it's great for those little bumps from shaving or chafing.
