This is great for adding an overall glow. It might not be the best for oily skinned people though. I like mixing it with my foundation to give lighter overall coverage and that glow. I'm not sure I'd classify this as a primer, really it's more like a shimmery lotion, and is way overpriced considering that. I'd give it a 5 otherwise.

It works pretty nice as a subtle highlight. It's not sparkly and doesn't give as intense of a sheen as Hard Candy's Dollface or Benefit's Highbeam, but it does give a soft reflective glow that's definitely visible and makes the skin look shiny and dewy. However, as a primer, I didn't feel like it did anything - I mixed it in with my foundation and put it on my face and I didn't notice a difference whatsoever. I would only rebuy this as a highlight but it's a little too subtle for my taste.

Fantastic product, although I don't use it as a primer! I've tried it as such and, while I do think it makes my foundation go on smoother and, to a certain extent, fills in my pores, it just doesn't do it for me. When used under foundation, the beautiful, illuminated effect is lost so, in my opinion, this product as a primer defeats its own purpose. However, as a highlighter, this product rules. It gives the perfect pearly-yet-natural, lit from within glow. I use either my ring finger or my damp foundation sponge to pat it on the high points of my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose and the effect is stunning. I also particularly love putting a bit of it on my undereyes before concealing to impart a light-refracting glow, which lessens the amount of concealer I need to use. Another wonderful way to use this is to mix a few drops of it in with your foundation! Not only does it make the makeup go on easier, it also infuses it with a really flattering, pearlescent sheen which I think is perfect for dewy, natural spring and summer looks. If you haven't tried this yet, please do...if you're a fan of glowy makeup (which I'm assuming you are if you purchased this particular product), you won't regret it.

I bought this because of it's excellent reviews as a highlighter. I have not actually tried it is as a primer (though I think it would be pretty).

This is a pearly white product that's thicker than a liquid but definitely not as solid as a gel or lotion. It blends seamlessly into the skin, leaving a luminous, but not shimmery glow. I use a tiny bit--the size of a pencil eraser--on each cheekbone to highlight, and what's left on my fingers I put on the bridge of my nose and cupid's bow. Since it's not shimmery or glittery, it's very subtle, very natural looking--nobody will ever suspect that your radiant glow came from a bottle, haha.

This retails for about $13 at drug stores. Using store rewards I paid much less, but honestly, this is on par with higher-end liquid highlighters which go for double or triple that price. I have just one complaint: the staying power isn't great--this is a REALLY subtle highlighter, and as my face tends to get a little bit oily I think the glowy, dewey effect gets lost after a few hours.

Overall, this is the best highlighter I've found so far in terms of product payoff for the price. (I would love to get some Benefit or Becca highlighters, but I'm not willing to pay that much money for something that's supposed to be subtle, ya know?) I don't know if I'd consider it a HG, but as far as highlighters go, this is one you'll want to try.

I wouldnt consider this a primer. I would consider it more of a highlighter. I still use it under foundation but I bought it as a primer.

It's definitely not a good primer... But- I use it to highlight my cheekbones and define my nose. I also use it under my concealer. This stuff is amazing!!! It gives me a great sculpted look. It's a pearly white color, so universal for everyone (as long as you use it under your makeup...) I have oily skin, and it doesn't make me any more or less shiny than I normally am.

This is a perfect highlighter for me. I create fresh illuminated skin with it every morning. I especially appreciate it when I decide to go for nude makeup look or French style makeup with just a little bit of mascara and red matte lips. In this case I need flawless skin but with an impression of bare face. This liquidy substance does not have any obvious sparkles therefore no disco ball manifests. I use it day and night whenever I fancy extra fresh dewy finish to my skin.

Yep it's not a primer! It's basically a pearly white highlighter. Since I'm porcelain fair right now, I did use it all over before applying concealer & powder. It does give a slight sheen/glow to the skin. I used a tiny bit more on my cheekbones. I'm indifferent with this product. Personally I think it's way overpriced for a drugstore primer/highlighter. I think the only thing it has going for it is that it is pearly white, and most other highlighters are pink based. Won't repurchase because I have other highlighters and primers that perform better.
EDIT: I had to stop putting this all over my face before foundation. It broke me out! It feels kind of greasy after you rub it in. So yeah, just use it strictly as a highlighter!

I bought this on a whim just to see what it was all about. While the highlighting aspect of this could work...I doubt I'd put this all over my face as a primer due to the whiteout washy ashy effect, however highlighting certain parts of the face may work. Do I think it's worth the price? Not really...I'll probably just highlight with powders rather than relying on this liquid before my foundation.

This primer is a *fabulous* drugstore buy. It isn't too thick nor too thin to make a difference, it makes your skin smooth and helps your makeup last longer and apply easier! It is very, very luminous (do not get this confused with oily!) because it has the most incredible finely milled shimmer you wouldn't even know could exist in it. You wouldn't even know when it was on your face that it had shimmer because the particles are so finely milled that you cannot really see them yet somehow they work together to create this beautiful glow. Also even though this primer is luminous it is *NOT* hydrating so don't get that confused. It is not going to dry out your skin at all but it is not going to add any kind of moisture either. It also doesn't break me out! My one downfall about this primer which is kind of huge is that only 20mL of this product is $20. That is a huge cost on top of foundation and specifically for a drugstore primer. I feel like prices at the drugstore are getting less and less pocket friendly which is what the drugstore is supposed to be about :/ I will probably not buy this again just because I have other primers that have a higher cost value but this truly is a great product.

Okay, I have pretty normal skin except for my nose. My nose is an oil slick! It's disgusting, but anyways when I bought this primer I first applied it everywhere. It didn't like my nose, let me tell you that. My nose was extremely oily. The second time, however, I applied it everywhere except my nose and I used my Revlon primer on my nose. It was fine and it gave okay results. It didn't really make me look a lot more radiant but it did make me look dewy which I like better than a completely matte face.

I can get the same effect with my highlighter, however. Nothing really special about this. It didn't make my makeup last any longer, but it did make me look dewy. That's it.

LOVE this product. I usually apply it directly to my cheekbones as well as mix it with my BB Cream. It just gives my skin an allover POP. I also add it to my eyelids and the corners of my eyes. Would definitely recommend this product.

This by far is my favorite highlighter. It doesn't contain any shimmers or sparkles, so if you're looking for something natural looking, this is your best bet. However, if you're a girl/boy with darker skin, do NOT use this product alone. It is very light and WILL look silver/ashy/obvious on the skin...which I found out the hard way. The solution? Mix a drop of this with a drop of your favorite moisturizer and apply to the areas you'd like to highlight and BOOM! you got a touch of luminosity that looks gorgeous on the skin.

This is a highlighter, not a primer. If you are expecting a primer with an illuminating finish - try MACs, it has a sensible amount of shimmer. I only use this as a liquid highlighter on my cheekbones on a night out on top of my makeup - and it is nice for that.

It is SUPER liquid - not the gel-like texture of your average primer. You would think the consistency would make the dispenser easy to operate, but if this stuff is tipped over in your makeup bag and you go to use the pump - it will likely splatter everywhere...you have been warned.

Lastly, on the colour, it is a bright white shimmer and therefore more cool toned than warm. My skin is a bit on the warm side, so I would have liked to have something a bit more on the gold side - but this is from the perspective of using it as a highlighter.

My friend is a rep for Loreal, so luckily I got this stuff for free. I wouldn't buy it.

Not in love with this product. Not to say it isn't a "good" product, it just doesn't work for what I was looking for. This is more just an illuminator, which is great to use under foundation if you have perfect skin! Me, I need a heavy duty primer - I have dark circles, blemishes, red areas, and uneven skin tone. So in the end, this product just didn't work for me. I'll bet it's beautiful on others though!

This stuff is pretty good. I received a sample of it from a cosmetician and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I am usually not a fan of L'Oreal products but this one I am! It reminds me of a dupe for Lancome's Eclat Miracle. This one is a bit more runny and not as shimmery as Lancome's. It just gives your face a very healthy glow without making it look like you dipped it in shimmer. You can mix it in with your moisturizer, your foundation or pat it on with a sponge.
It claims it's a primer but I wouldn't go so far as to say that's what it is. It's more of a soft illuminator.
I would recommend it for someone who wants a bit of a glow to their face, to look more well rested with hydrated skin. Be careful putting this on if your skin is remotely oil. If you put too much on it may show more of the oiliness on your face. My face is oily so I prefer to dab it on and not rub it in so much.
Because I already have so many illuminating primers, I wouldn't say this one blows my socks off. For that reason I don't see myself buying this until my other primers/illuminators are gone.

I really liked the way this product looked and felt, but unfortunately I have sensitive skin and after ewearing this for a day I got a rash all over my face. So for people with sensitive skin try something else. For those without sensitive skin though this could be good, it really made my face look brighter without being glittery or too shiny. One thing though, the product is white, so if you have medium or dark skin it's probably better to get something that's flesh colored.

I noticed several weeks ago that the dry winter air was causing my beloved Estee Lauder Double Wear to look a bit dull and mask-like, not to mention my skin had paled a bit since purchasing my foundation. Instead of buying another expensive bottle of foundation, I decided to try this.

It's amazing! I have not used it as a primer. I mix half foundation and half of this product, and it lightened my foundation to the perfect shade and gave me just the natural glow I had wanted. It's not greasy or shimmery looking -- just youthful and fresh!

My skin tends to be oily and prone to clogging, but this product hasn't caused either to happen. I don't know if I'll continue to use this during summer because of my skin type, but for winter, it's definitely a keeper!

Thank you MakeupAlley reviewers. I don't know why I didn't think of using it as a highlighter. It's certainly a better price point than the smashbox highlighter that I have.
I was prepared to come on here and lay a slap down on this product. I'm asian and not fair skinned. When I use this as a primer my face looks ashy and glittery. Then I put my foundation on and I look like the undead with a spray tan. But as a highlighter, I like.

I like the packaging. All about the pumps. Pretty small container but like I said, if you use it as a highlighter, it's cheaper than the smashbox or other products marketed as highlighters.

I just finished my first bottle of this and cant say Im too impressed. I don't like using anything to heavy on my skin so what I used to do was apply lotion with a little bit of highlighter mixed in and to be honest, that worked better than this product. I didn't feel it moisturized my skin, didnt do much in terms of a primer to set my makeup and my skin was not glowing any more than usual. I just switched to Almay smart shade primer and love it! I just dot on some highlighter after applying it and I feel like my skin is moisturized, brightened and overall looks healthier than it did when I used the Magic Lumi.
