This is my new signature fragrance - my other favourites being Antonia Flowers - 'Floret' and 'Tiempe Passat' and Escentric Molecules - 'Escentric 01'.

Even though I have always loved the notes in Fracas and purchased it once I could never really get used to it as I am a little heavy handed when I apply perfume and as it was just too overpowering and had what I call too much of a 'mature' (ie- old lady) smell on me.

Douglas Hannant takes those same Fracas notes and gives it a more modern and less sickly sweet approach and luckily for me it just seems to magically go with my body chemistry.

This perfume gives me a lovely creamy and warm tuberose / gardenia / jasmine smell that just 'envelops' me and leaves me feeling warm and sweet without being too over the top floral.

Apparently there is a pear note in there which to be honest, I just don't smell. According to the designer the pear is meant to cut down the sweetness of the other notes. That part I understand but to me this doesn't smell of pear.

Since I have been wearing this I have had so many compliments on how good I smell, which to me is one of the best kind of compliment to get.

I really do my research before I invest in fragrance because in Australia the kind of scents that I always seem to fall for are double the price that you lucky folks pay in the US and the UK.

This perfume is what I would call a 'niche' fragrance in Australia and the only place I could try before I purchased was at David Jones - where it retails for $200 for the 100ml. They don't even sell the 50ml bottles here.

I bought a 100ml bottle of this from the US for $75 and had it shipped to me for $21 to Australia through Price USA which is the only site I have found that will ship perfumes to Australia.....all the other sites are still spouting the same 'perfume is on the dangerous items list' spiel and say it's illegal to ship overseas.

If you are like me and love the notes of Fracas but found it a little mature then try Douglas Hannant.

This is a strange ultra-strong sickly overly fruity pear-version of FRACAS. Think it's intended to attract a younger crowd to Piguet-perfumes, considering the fruity-punch a'la FRACAS-gone-bad. FRACAS is nice and classy. This made me feel real sick. Had to wash it off. (Ps. I own FRACAS -and love it)
