In the beginning, this is a beautiful balance between saltiness and sweet. I loved it, it was so unique and I thought I found another gourmand I Ioved. When the dry down came, I was beyond disgusted. It transformed into a really dirty I haven't washed my butt sort of smell. Really strange, I know there are no cumin notes, but I distinctly smell cumin and cumin is just so wrong on so many levels unless your looking for a nice dirty sexy perfume. I wanted a nice sweet buttery salty sweet goodness, but this one it is not.

Oh, no this sooooo didn't work on me. I got hazelnuts and butterscotch wood first off, and it never really developed beyond that. It remained MUCH too sweet on me, like I was wearing a slime of brown sugar syrup on my wrist, plus a perfume note that clashed. The notes never blended on me and in the end I had to scrub it off because it was really getting up my nose. Epic fail, sadly. Try before buy.

Oh, hello, new lemming. It's nice to meet you. I don't know what it is with me and loving these "bread" scents (Jeux de Peau, I'm looking right at your awesomeness) lately, but I'm totally onboard this new "gourmand but not cavity inducing" train. Praline de Santal is now on my full-bottle worthy list. Why? Well, it's simple. There's a nice toasted bread- or praline, which would be pecans- note smothered in some excellent sandalwood. However, this is not as dense as Jeux de Peau, although they share an extremely similar warm, creamy feel, and I'd say it's less "complex." (There are literally fewer notes, but that doesn't always mean a perfume will smell less nuanced- Praline de Santal is well composed and very wearable.) My mother's family is from the South and it could just be my bias speaking, but this is some great juice. Not sugary sweet, not cloying- just delicious and comforting.
