This is my holy grail DG mascara! It really gives the false lash effect. The fibers do not fall out like other fiber mascaras I've tried. I wear contacts and the formula doesn't bother me one bit. Holds curl with my straight lashes. Highly recommend.

I have been combing through MUA mascara reviews because it was time to pitch my current mascara (3 month rule) and I wanted to try something new. I had been using Maybelline One by One waterproof and it's nice but I just felt like maybe I could find a mascara that gave my lashes a little more of a dramatic look. I eventually settled on this mascara, basing my decision on reviews and the fact that L'Oreal generally makes great, quality products. This is mascara is pretty excellent. I get long, fluttery, voluminous lashes after 2 coats and it doesn't flake or make them look spidery. I really like the shape of the brush: it's tapered and a smidge longer than the average mascara brush so it really helps you to get to every single lash as you apply it. The formula isn't too wet or dry and it holds a curl very well. I also love how it clicks when you close it because then I know it's sealed tight. I'll probably stick with this one for a while.

UPDATE: 05/21/2013
This was starting to feel and look too fiber-y for its own good. I think a fleck of it landed in my eye one day at work, not pleasant. It gives great drama but it's not ideal for every day use.

I really like this mascara because it holds my curl, gives me the desired volume, and extends my lashes a bit. I like it because it gives me the appearance of natural false eyelashes. I actually do prefer the smaller bristles because it holds less product. I hate having to scrape off excess product in other mascaras using the rule of thumb to build using thin layers but with this mascara I only use one coat to achieve the desired effect - thick natural looking lashes.

The only downside is that his does smudge on me but I recently found the best tip to preventing it and that is using a clear gel as a top coat. ELFs Clear Eyebrow and Lashes mascara works great.

It says it is waterproof but I haven't been swimming or crying lately to see if it holds true

The website claims its makes "lashes that appear fuller, longer, curled and sculpted.... Just outrageous volume from every angle." Yeah right, the small bristles and formula aren't good for building volume and length. The nylon and rayon fibers do nothing at all. This is only good for a "natural" look.

I have found my HG mascara. On my lashes, the mascara keeps a curl (usually impossible) and does not flake or smudge. It is very waterproof and gives my lashes volume and length. The price-point isn't bad and bonus - the packaging is pleasing to the eye. Overall fantastic and I will continue on with this mascara.

I was kind of surprised with this. Usually L'Oreal mascaras are really wet and they weigh my lashes down, and I therefore can't stand them. Not this though. It holds a curl in my stick straight lashes really well, isn't wet, and doesn't flake or smudge. Now, no mascara is going to give me the falsies look, but two coats of this stuff and sweeping a clean mascara wand through my lashes afterward makes them look amazing. However, the way I've discovered to wear it is better. I put on two coats letting them dry in between, separate them with a clean wand, put on one coat of the Cover Girl clump crusher and then separate again with the clean wand. They look phenomenal! I don't know if the "False fibers" are really doing anything, but there definitely is volume and length going on. The waterproof aspect also does not disappoint.

this mascara is a drier / dry formula that doesn't seem to deposit much product onto my lashes making it necessary to do multiple coats to make it look like i'm wearing any mascara at all. but with each additional coat i added, it seems to distribute the product unevenly and it didn't seem to add much, if any, volume or length for me either. i also found this hard to remove... requiring me to reapply my eye makeup remover a few times to even begin taking off the mascara. and then when it finally started coming off, the fibers would get everywhere, including my eyes irritating them. it hasn't been the worst mascara i've ever used, but i definitely didn't enjoy it. i tried it for a month but it was a no go for me, and back to the store it went.

Alright so, I was super excited to try this. I mainly was drawn to it, because, the reviews stated that it was volumizing. I reallllly wanted to love this but ladies I strongly feel that this is more of a lengthening mascara which is discerning since the name of this is "voluminous". First off it is a dry formula so if you prefer wet formulas, this isn't for you. Now the lengthing ability of this is out of this world and I do believe it helps hold a curl. With one coat it looked fluttery and natural. I wanted more drama, more black, and most importantly, more volume.. With a second coat it started to look weird...not clumpy just weird and spidery. I tried combing through the 2nd coat with a clean mascara wand and it did not help with the clumpy weird fiber build up. Now the second time I used this I skipped the second coat and used the tip of the wand to hit the end of my lashes and add extra length. That worked nicely. Bottom line. not super black. not super volumizing. not what I wanted. It is however, superb lengthening, fluttery, natural looking with one coat. I will continue using for days where I am doing errands and want a natural look in one easy step. I have also thought about layering another non fiber mascara on top, may be a good layering mascara for those who like layering different formulas.

Great mascara; not too wet, not too dry. It allows for a LONG, fluttery dramatic look. Doesn't flake or smudge and results in almost fake lash flutter. Good price, packaging's just fine. I layer 4 coats and it doesn't clump. Awesome!

Love! This does a great job of extending my lashes and making them look so long and lush! My lashes are only average, and nothing to write home about without mascara- and this takes them to WOW! This mascara is a great alternative to false lashes or extensions, and wears wonderfully. The removal is a bit more "involved" because of the wear of the product and the fiber, but I use an oil remover, so don't have any troubles with gentle massaging until my lahes come clean. All in all, I'm super impressed and will definitely be repurchasing.

This is an excellent mascara. I've also tried L'oreal million lashes mascara but I like this one better because its more volumizing and thickening. It was a little too wet and clumpy on the wand at first, but after a few days I got used to it. The only drawback is its a bit difficult to remove, even with a cleansing oil. I'd repurchase!

This is a great mascara for holding a curl and giving the dramatic false lash effect. It actually lives up to its name. I don't know how much the "false fibers" really do, but the mascara itself is excellent, especially after about a week or two of use. It is a little too wet when you first open the tube and requires a bit more work to get the dramatic look I want, but after a short time it is perfect. The brush is large enough to get the job done but not OTT huge. I do get mascara on my brow bone every time I use this and must remove it with a Qtip, so if you are in a hurry this may not be the best mascara to use unless you have serious mascara skills.
The only thing I don't like is the packaging. The shape of the tube is kind of neat but it's a gaudy gold color. Also, when I replace the wand into the tube after use, a decent amount of mascara balls up around the seam, which is very wasteful.

This mascara makes my lashes very noticeable. I've been trying it out for about a week now and for the first time, my friends actually noticed my lashes! One of my girlfriends asked me if I was wearing mascara and when I said yes, she wanted to know which mascara got my lashes so long. I'm not really gifted in the lashes department but I'm not complaining either. If there's a mascara out there that really makes my lashes "false-like", this is it! It also holds the curl well and the packaging looks great. The only downside is, like the other L'Oreal mascaras I've tried, this smudges on my undereyes a little bit even if it's waterproof. But somehow, it's difficult to remove even when I use a cleansing oil from MAC or Origins. However, I would still keep using this even if it has its downfall since I've never seen my lashes this long!

So for some wild reason, even though I was happy with the Voluminous Million Lashes Waterproof, I decided to try this. It does lengthen and thicken with definition, though I think the Million Lashes thickens more. The drawback? You can't get it off. I use Vaseline to remove my eye makeup and it's always gotten off even the toughest stuff--until now. Eventually it will come off, but only after you do a lot of rubbing and dabbing, which I don't need at my age. Often I gave up after getting the bulk of it off, and the residue was still there the next day. I kept on using it, determined to get my money's worth, until I noticed I was losing eyelashes. If you want mascara that will survive a nuclear holocaust, this is for you. I'm going back to Million Lashes.

one of the best drug store mascaras you can buy. my lashes are extremely small and this mascara brings them out great! you can actually see my eyelashes and it makes them super long and super thick. not sure why there are bad reviews on it, the only bad thing about this is that it's hard to remove since its' waterproof but after a day of wearing it, makeup remover on a cotton pad takes it all off. excellent product!

This is one of the best waterproof mascaras I've tried and I've tried many over the years. It is better than UD Cannonball in that it does not give you that little hook at the end of the lashes. Cannonball definitely gives more volume but for me, I love the end results of this one.

So I got this mascara from my sister & I used it at school & I got soooo many compliments on my lashes. My friends really liked it & even asked me what the mascara's called! I have no cons about this mascara at all. I loved everything. It made my lashes stand out some more, thicken, voluminize, & made them look like party lashes & they did give the slight illusion of false lashes!(: I honestly love this mascara & I do recommend it & I am deff repurchasing(: I applied it as many times until I got what I liked on me. I put about 2 coats, which isn't alot. Great mascara, love it. Just buy it & see how great it goes for you! The packaging is so cute as well! Thanks for reading :D This is my honest opinion, so I hope it works as great as it did for me.

I bought this as an impulse buy. I liked L'Oreal Million Lashes Waterproof - not an HG, but a good everyday mascara- so I thought I'd give this one a shot. When first opening the tube, I was disappointed. I hated the brush. Besides being really long, the actual brush part just looks cheap and like it would make the product clump. I hate big, long mascara applicators. You're working with a tiny tiny area, why do we need a huge, long brush? Anyway, I applied it and while the stupid brush was hard to work with, the result of the product itself was PHENOMENAL! Holy crap, my short, stumpy little lashes actually look fake! As suspected, the brush does cause slight clumpage, however, it's easy to get rid of with an eyelash comb so no big deal. I'm getting used to the monster brush and I've used this now 3 days in a row, for at least 12 hours each day. I have seen not a single smudge and my lashes hold both the curl and the length from the moment I apply it to the moment I take it off.

For the past 3 1/2 years, my beloved Clinique Lash Power has held the HG crown in my makeup bag. I find this gives more length than Clinique and is easier to remove (which was my one big gripe with Lash Power and why I didn't use it everyday). While Clinique's amazing teeny tiny brush will always hold a special place in my heart, I think this little $8.99 wonder has dethroned it...

I bought this product after reading the reviews on here but was very disappointed. I was so excited to use this but it failed on me. I have short Asian lashes so mascara is very important to me as I have no volume or length in my lashes naturally. This mascara clumped and flaked on me pretty badly. More clumpy than anything. The formula is quite dry, maybe too dry that when I apply it, it's clumpy/chunky looking. I use an eyelash comb to brush it out so it doesn't look so clumped. After 1 coat, I barely saw anything on my lashes. However, applying more coats makes it clump and flake even more. It does however, hold a curl, because it's waterproof. If I was in a rush, this mascara would not be my go-to mascara as it takes a long time to brush it all out to make my lashes look nice and decent and not spider legs styled. In addition, the mascara somewhat smells like glue, not that I can smell it on my eyes, but just opening the bottle, can smell it. I threw this mascara away after many times of using it, hoping it would get better as I continued to use the mascara, but unfortunately, it didn't work. Sorry to bring the rating down ladies, but this mascara didn't work for me. After a while, the mascara smudges too, raccoon eye style since I have an oily face. Would not repurchase.

This is my new favorite mascara. I've sworn by L'oreal mascaras for close to 20 years because I find their brushes and formulations to really enhance the lashes I have. The False Fibers mascara in Blackest Black has unseated my Voluminous Millions Lashes mascara in Carbon Black from it's throne. The False Fibers mascara brush is long and seems to thicken and lengthen my lashes (YAY!). Whatismore, I get zero clumping with this. The waterproof formula stays put all day -- no smudging, no flaking, and my lashes remain soft all day -- no hard crusty feeling. To remove, I use my usual method: Ponds cold cream...applied to the eyes and I let it sit for 10 seconds and then remove with a warm wet wash cloth... No muss, no fuss, no tugging... Love it!
