I tried this mostly because GlamDiva below says that it has a very well done rounded fruity impression, plus occasional bubble gum. I also slightly feared a powdery, vintage violet impression because that what violets turn into on my skin most of the time. I certainly got the lovely, bright, fruity aspect and the bubblegum note- albeit for a passing moment. Happily, the violet note was not dusty or too powdery. Altogether it's a rather chic fragrance with good sillage and lasting power. It makes me think of long hair, skinny jeans and leather accessories. Very nice but not FB worthy for me because I find it almost too polished.

I love some of Tom Ford's other scents, so wanted to give this a try, too.
This perfume did not smell good on me at all. From initial sniff to final dry down, it was a very strong, powdery, vintage 1950's-type floral.

Loved the packaging, but little else.

I first tried this perfume when I got a little sample sized sprayer with a Sephora purchase. It was definitely love at first sniff. After using up my sample I asked for and received the largest bottle from my SO for christmas but ended up dropping it a few months later and it shattered everywhere (thank goodness not at home! I can't imagine how strong it would smell, I feel awful about dropping it in a public restroom). Anyway I recently repurchased a more manageable medium sized bottle and am so glad to have it back. I can only describe this perfume as haunting, the smell is super unique (to me, but I am not really "into" perfumes) and absolutely lovely. It smells really, really expensive. just a tiny spritz is enough for the whole day and you smell absolutely fabulous (different, but amazing) when you wake up the next day too. I don't usually like powdery scents but this is just slightly powdery in a good way. It is my absolute favorite perfume, especially in the spring, summer, and fall. In the super hot (Texas) summer I prefer to wear something with bold gardenia like michael kors. Anyway, I would suggest trying it out, especially try wearing it for a day because it just keeps getting better and better. Maybe not for everyone, but I love it. It smells grown up, expensive, and bold but also soft and familiar. Really beautifully done. A new classic.

Love Love Love this scent. It is so different from anything else that I wear. It is a beautiful sophisticated floral. It also smells expensive and classy. The staying power is wonderful and it doesn't give me a headache!

Some where on that not so fine line between au naturale and bombshell. Like Marilyn Monroe with nude makeup on. I am most definetly a fan. An admirer of rose and a lover of Iris, this is one of my first introductions to violet and I am well-pleased. Beautiful from the first spray Violet Blonde feels something like a modern-classic. An old memory that still delights and compliments. All of Tom Fords fragrances are out of my tax bracket. But I'd re-order the samples : )

I tried this perfume on me 4 times before I purchased it. Everytime I spray it on me; Ioved the first notes of the perfume but thought that it is very expensive and if it worths 369 turkish liras. I could not be sure whether it is special or not. Finally, I bought a 3.4 oz size and I am very happy with my purchase. It gives a feeling of happiness, a very elegant scent. It should not be sprayed too much otherwise it causes headaches, even the next day. I think I want to repurchase it but the price is really very(too) high unfortunately.

I smell violet, I smell iris and apricot, I smell leather and sandalwood, I smell something heavy but not overpoweringly so, and very, very sexy. If I smell it I cannot take it off my mind for the whole day. It agrees so much with my skin. If I want to make a statement, this is one of the top 5 perfumes I would choose from.

I purchased this scent many months before I started wearing it. Yes, it seems dull compared to Black Orchid and perhaps that is why I delayed in using it. I just started using it a week ago, and I reach for this fragrance daily. I am an owner of probably almost 100 bottles of fragrance and rarely do I smell the same everyday! This scent is perfect for work. It is soft and classy, non offensive. Whether anyone enjoys smelling this or not, it really works for me and I enjoy wearing it. If I never buy another bottle it will only be because I enjoy exploring the new. But this scent is a winner!

This is nice on me - violets for sure. It lasts and lasts and lasts. But violet scented products tend to do that on me. It does not turn, stays true to the first spray (yes, that is what I like, I hate when they change and change and change blah).

this gave me a headache and I'm not a headache person. if I ever wore this in public well I won't. I got a sample of this from Nordstrom in my package. Mean it, I never had as strong of a physical reaction to anything like I did to this scent. I actually think I'll throw this away...

I was really excited to try this fragrance since I have never tried a Tom Ford fragrance before and I was hearing some really good things on the internet about it. But I am fairly disappointed. It is a nice floral fragrance but nothing special. It smells very much like Prada Infusion d'Iris to me. The lasting power is good and it is a nice fragrance but doesn't have the wow factor I was expecting. I am using a large sample right now and will probably not purchase a full size bottle.

This scent could almost pass as unisex. I felt like I was wearing cologne. Very strong as well. Not for me.

I don't get it - I don't get violet at all ... I mean ... maybe vaguely ... this is just a soft slightly spicey woody-vanilla to me. Maybe a hint? of violet? If you are looking for violet look elsewhere.

Violet Blonde is a big floral with jasmine and violet leaf, a very well done rounded fruity impression, plus occasional bubble gum! Big, gorgeous, sophisticated, Hollywood! The woods in the base come up later but not a problem for me if I don't overapply. I need to find ways to apply less than a spray. The next morning a whisper of a floral fruity candy chocolate impression remains - mmmm delish. An impressive offering from Tom Ford.

This was my first Tom Ford fragrance. I was on the lookout for a new perfume and stumbled upon Violet Blonde at Harvey Nichols. It instantly caught my eye (or nose more likely) as it is an absolutely gorgeous smell, slightly powdery, which is something I wouldn't normally go for, but I love it. Very elegant, classy, and sophisticated perfume. A few people were trying this out at the same time as when I was purchasing Violet Blonde, and they didn't like it, which I find unusual as it is so lovely. Will repurchase in the future.

Well done slight soft powder, true violet open. Violet takes a back seat to jasmine and a touch of fruit with creamy earthiness underneath. Not nearly as heady as Black Orchid, more mid-range projection. Screams class, elegance, sophistication at me; something I hope to pull off on occasion. Makes me wish cashmere, khakis and pearls were more of my thing. Great silage, ok longevity (4-5 hours). Lovely fall weather scent.

I agree with the previous reviewers regarding the No.5 bit; I knew I recognised that part of the scent! I love the dry-down to the vetiver and musk, but what I don't like is that it only lasts 3-4 hours, max! (With no heavy lifting). That is so uncharacteristic of Tom's fragrances; BO (lol) lasts almost 12 hours on my skin when I'm not sweating. I had to recheck the box to make sure I didn't purchase a EDT.

This is fantastic - I'm glad Tom Ford consistently puts out interesting fragrances.
It starts out as Apres L'Ondee cranked up loud enough for the cheap seats, settles into No. 5 territory for a little while, and dries down as a much more mellow Samsara. It's a big, blowsy vintage-style perfume, and despite borrowing from some wonderful predecessors it feels new and unique.

I received my product in sample form from Sephora. I have been spraying it on me every night while I watch tv since I received it. I think it sort of smells like clean soap, like powder, and like violets. It does not linger like I like a parfum to. I love Tom Ford's Black Orchid which is why I requested a sample of his other fragrance but this one is just not doing it for me. Sorry to dissappoint those looking for positive reviews!

This is beautiful. Reminds me of Malle's Lipstick Rose and Chanel No.5. No.5 with violet. Classic, evocative, and a very femme. I sprayed it on my skin, and every time I sniffed this beauty, I imagined platinum hair in big waves, red lipstick, mink, and 4 inch stilettos. I used to dress this way in the 80s. Back then this would have been a no-brainer signature. The perfect companion to Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver. Like Gable and Lombard or Bogey and Bacall. :)
