I love the colors in this palette. It's great for day time smokey looks. Most of the shadows are reasonably pigmented and have good staying power except the purple shade. Which is really disappointing because it's a great color. It just fades way too fast. The brown shades are my most used.

+ Very good pigmentation and longlasting.
Soft, kinda romantic colors.
Matte shadows work well with eyewrinkles/fine lines.
It comes with instructions/tips.
I will definitely repurchase!
A good price for a good eyeshadow palette!

- The shade "Fashion" is weak though, why?
The packaging looks a little cheap unfortunately.

This palette is perfect for people who love matte eye looks. I love every single color in this palette. You can create a super natural look or go more dramatic. "Pebbles" is a beautiful blue-gray shade that's pretty unique in my collection. The packaging on this is super cute (although I wish it had a mirror), and comes with helpful tips about how to create different looks, which is great for beginners. If you're lukewarm on shimmers and a lover of mattes, definitely invest in this. It's a great addition to my makeup kit, and it's way worth the money.

OMG I LOVE this palette! This is my first Too Faced palette ever. I fell in love immediately with the 2nd row: Pebbles (gray) and London Fog (deep blue). They are such beautiful colors that I saved up and bought the palette. I've used it a lot since -the shadows are smooth, soft colors, easy to blend, and feel like butter. Honestly they're such great quality shadows!

I have received so many compliments when wearing these. They stay on perfectly with primer and they're just SO easy to apply. They're amazing and they are beautiful matte colors! I love this palette A LOT!! The only thing I wish it'd have is a mirror. Oh and getting the instructions out of the lid is such a pain.

I bought this for the matt texture and lovely combinations.
However, at my age, anything but cream eyeshadows just really accentuate the ageing skin texture. :(

So this lovely palette was relegated to the back of a makeup drawer.
Until one day I took it out and thought the Tufted Suede would make a fantastic colour for filling in my eyebrows.
Eureka.
It's perfect.
Then I realised both Velveteen Bunny and Fresh Linen are excellent and long-lasting under the brow highlighters.
So at the end of the day, I turn to this palette every day.
I'm thinking of depotting those colours and making a present of the palette for a friend who loves powder eyeshadow and will appreciate the colours.

Bottom line

Love the colours, the combinations and the fact they are matt. I am not overly impressed by the quality of the product. Somebody else mentioned below that they look like dirt when on and I have to somewhat agree. It feels like you are putting a layer of chalk on your lids which quickly falls off. Sticks slightly better with a primer, but even then not great, I always feels it sits on the skin and not merge with it. Such a shame. With hindsight I would try before buying.

Without a doubt, one of the best makeup investments I have ever made. I was on the hunt for quality matte shadows for ever and I asked a Sephora employee to recommend some matte shadows. She pointed me to some MUF singles (I think. I don't remember) and this little gem.

The shades are mostly neutral with a pretty purple and a dark blue/gray. The three base colors come on larger sizes (though I will never be able to wear Tufted Suede all over my lid.....way too dark).

You can do alot with this palette. I wear it casual and light to work and I've done some pretty awesome (if I do say so myself...and I do) smokey eyes for going out.

Everyone should have a set of matte shadows in their collection. These shades here would be flattering on most skintones. I think I paid about $34 for this. Well worth it.

I really like this palette. It is fairly basic in terms of shades but the quality of those shadows are very good and the shades are perfect for my brown eyes. I have not always been a fan of Too Faced shadows as I have found them a bit too glittery - too much fall out, etc. I use these shades alone and to blend with other, more bright colors. Good buy for the money.

I use this everyday, I love all of the shades! They are super blendable and all very flattering, and I imagine they would be on most skin tones. Too Faced is also cruelty free which is a huge plus!

The shades all work well together, in a row as too faced suggests or mixed as you like.
My favourites are vintage violet ( a cool dusky lavender colour) pebbles (a muted, grey tones olive green) velveteen bunny (a cream white) and chinchilla (a suede light brown).

This really is a great base-matte e/s kit. it has all the shades you need, bar a matte black. A good investment if you're keen to try something new.

For the amount of great product you get, it's totally worth the money! All the eyeshadows are lovely and high quality unlike most palettes which have one or more duds.

Only con is that the packaging is a bit flimsy and if you take it with you alot it doesn't hold out too well.

I definitely recommend this!

This is a really cool little palette that I never reach for. The compact packaging is made of incredibly sturdy cardboard, with a secure magnet-type closure, but why no mirror for the love of God??!! So, that's annoying. The real reason I don't use it that often though is the color selection. The shadows are a beautiful, non-chalky, buttery matte texture - they blend with no effort whatsoever, which is hard with matte shadows! The light shadows (coincidentally, the ones with larger pans...) are too light and sheer for me. Even Chinchilla, the medium brown, doesn't really show up. The darker shades are really pretty, with great depth of color (especially London Fog, a deep navy), and nice when used as liners but I rarely take that extra step. IMO, the standout shade is Vintage Violet, which looks 100x better paired with Pebbles (medium gray) than the matching colors in its row. That combo looks REALLY great lined with L'Oreal's Voluminous Smoldering eyeliner in Violet (an amazing dupe for Laura Mercier Black Violet liner). In conclusion, I think this palette is of great quality but the color selection leaves much to be desired.

Desert island worthy!

I have been waiting for a high quality matte eye palette and Too Faced once again delivered!

As usual, the colors blend beautifully and are very pigmented. I haven't tried these without a primer, but can attest to the longevity with one. This palette works for any skintone. There are instruction cards tucked in the lid of the palette if you need a guide to creating a few basic looks, but it's much more fun to experiment on you own. The Vintage Violet looks very nice against a darker skintone and Coffee Bean has become my workhorse color!

This palette was worth the wait. You get alot of product and the price (for me) is very justifiable.

It may not be the most "creative" color selection but it still is very versatile - probably more so than the shimmery palettes. I can wear these colors to work and school, for more formal occasions and for nights out as well. This is good for "natural" and retro looks as well as smokey eyes. I like to use the darkest shades as liners and the light ones make for good subtle (!) highlight colors. I find matte eye shadows to be much more flattering than the overly shimmery eye shadows in the other Too Faced palettes. Furthermore, this matte formula lasts longer on my very oily eyelids.
Naturally, this formula is not as smooth as a shimmer and takes more effort to blend, but I think it's worth the effort. Also, if you like very pigmented eye shadows, these may not be for you. But for those of us who are more "shy" with makeup or prefer a subtle application, this works well.

Love, Love, Love this palette!!! I have a hard time finding ANY matte eyeshadows. I am 52 years old and feel that I am too old for shimmer shadows - which it seems almost are now. The colors are very modern and blendable. I took off 1 star because I wish they were a little bit more pigmented. I agree with the earlier reviewer who said that this is what she was hoping Urban Decay would have come out with in their Naked Palette 2.

This is the matte palette that I was hoping Urban Decay would create as their second Naked Palette. I adore all of the colors and I have never before been able to say that about an eyeshadow palette. The colors blend beautifully and lots of great looks can be created. Will use this one forever!

Love this eyeshadow collection! If you are like me and have been searching for matte, neutral eyeshadows forever, look no further. The packaging is really cure, and it comes with little tutorial cards to show you how to use the colors. Great for beginners or those who need a compact palette for on-the-go use.

Too Faced Matte Eye Shadow Collection, nine eye shadows, three large highlighter shades and six basic colours, divided into three groups:

Day - Tufted Suede (dark ecru), Chinchilla (taupe), Coffee Bean (dark brown)

Classic - Velveteen Bunny (off white), Pebble (medium grey), London Fog (deep purple/blue/charcoal grey)

Fashion - Fresh Linen (pale nude pink), Vintage Violet (dusty lavender), Midnight (deep grey)

Highly pigmented, lovely quality eye shadows that last like crazy with virtually no fallout on application. I wear shimmer shadows very rarely and was looking for some good quality matte shades. Came packaged with a tiny trial size of TF shadow primer. They work very well, and are especially and compact for travel. I took off one lippie for the high price here in Canada and a second half lippie for the cardboard packaging. Overall, I'm very satisfied with these shadows and will explore more Too Faced products. I will order a second set for DD.

Love this palette! Bought it last fall and keep coming back to it. Beautiful colors with no glitter or shimmer. Always get compliments when I wear these shadows. I use several of the colors together and don't look overdone. I hope Too Faced keeps this palette in their lineup and comes out with more matte shadows.

I have two other Too Faced palettes and I had my eye on this one for awhile. It was exclusive to Sephora and now it's at Ulta too, where I purchased it. The packaging is a little more Victorian than previous boxes and palettes, in shades of gray, taupe and purple. Inside you get the general 9 shades, three large highlights and six medium to dark. The texture is very soft, perhaps too soft for some people or a rough brush. Use only soft taklon brushes with these or 100% natural hair bristles. Apply light pressure to them, they are meant to go on softer and build in layers. Makeup actually lasts longer on your skin when you use light layers and blend as you go. The pigment does build quickly, blending will depend on the person. I'd use a lid primer whether you have oily or dry skin, and I do the same for all expensive shadows. If you invest money into makeup, buy a good primer. I've heard people say they are dusty, don't blend, are average shades, or a waste. They aren't. You cannot buy good matte shadows just anywhere, and even MAC's are hard to blend unless they're matte 2 textures. These are similar to MAC matte 2, which is probably why the majority love them. Matte is more chic and pigmented than glitter or shimmer. I still love those and wear them, but these are quite good. I will update if I change my mind.

I was really excited to receive this but it turned out to be the palette that I use the least. The colors are beautiful (especially Pebbles and the purple one) but they look dirty on me. No matter what primer I use, they crease into an oily mess and no other shadows that I own crease on me with the primers that I use. I'm giving it a 3 because with some hard work they look really good. I manage to have them show up vividly and not dirty-ish by using NYX's pencil in Milk on my lid. The colors look great but they still crease, even though I put UDPP or Too Faced Shadow Insurance underneath.
