I'm in love with Milani Lip Flashes (I own 5 shades), and News Flash was the one I was most excited to try on. It's a deep plum with glitter and I like the color, but unlike other Lip Flashes, this one is really hard to apply. Since the color is dark, you have to be really careful and it turns out really patchy if you don't apply it properly. Love the color but it's kind of high maintenance. And the staying power is only two hours or so, reapplying turns out to be a challenge if you're in a hurry. Not my favorite Lip Flash...

I bought this in 'News Flash' (a dark, cranberryish purple color, not listed here) because I was looking for something a little gothy for a show I was going to. (I'm a total Goth kid at heart xD) And I loved it! The color was stunning, and it glided on my lips so easily. Lip liner isn't even necessary!
It has the lasting power of about 3-4 hours on me, through normal eating, drinking, talking etc. So it does need to be re-applied. But application is a breeze with the pencil, so touch ups can be done in seconds.

Milani Lip Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencils are generally somewhere between lipsticks and lip glosses in coverage and finish. I have four Lip Flash Pencils and each color behaves a little differently from each other, some are moist and glossy, some less so.
The color News Flash (02) is described on the Milani web site as "purplish red with violet shimmer". It is a slightly glossy, deep plum with very fine iridescent violet and fuchsia shimmer. This color feels relatively moisturizing. This color is full coverage with a glossy finish. It wears quite well, although after many hours it looks more like a sparkly lip stain than a gloss.
It is a somewhat chubby pencil with a thick creamy filling, not a lip liner, so you will need a sharpener with a wide opening.
I am a pushover for violet and purple cosmetics and i am happy to have this product in my makeup kit. Anyone not certain if they can wear plum lipstick, this product is inexpensive enough to give it a try.

I picked one of these up from CVS in the color News Flash. Mine is a really nice, deep berry/red. I added a pic of it just stroked on my hand (so that would be full coverage) and blended in. I like it a bit more when it's blended in, and it seems like it would defeat the purpose of it in that way. At least for me, I have had trouble finding a nice lip stain that doesn't run or bleed and doesn't end up in the creases of my lips. This gives me a nice lip stain without any of that! I love how it gives my lips a cute, just bitten look. When it's put on full-force, it's very opaque and very shimmery. But it's a nice kind of shimmer, and the consistency is a little bit tacky but in a good way. I can tell this will stay on. Also, it feels quite moisturizing on the lips and I like that. This gets a full five lippies from me because it's everything it claims to be. I plan on picking up a few other shades; the only downfall is the sharpening aspect as everyone else has stated. I don't know how that will be, but I will try to not lose too much product.
