Oh my how I love this stuff. Sorry it didn't work for others, but I have been on the hunt for a solid and this fits the bill. The scent is amazing-Peaceful patchouli. It's not at all gummy, like others I've tried from Whole Foods. I can re-apply during the day, like say I was wearing a tank top and need a refresher, no problem. It's a love fest for me with this product what more can I say, I am pleased.

UPDATE: this isn't working for me anymore. This deodorant transfers b.o. onto my clothes and it doesn't wash out. -rating down graded 1/2013

Not only does Active Enzyme not work well as a deodorant, something happens to it overnight--it congeals into black lint-like strands. This is not a result of what I'm wearing--it's the deodorant. I am a fan of Kiss My Face products, and I like Liquid Rock, used in the past. I just ditched their Active Enzyme stick deodorant and went back to the roll-on Liquid Rock, which works well and does not leave my armpits streaked with black icky stuff!

Terrible! This product feels gross going on, it is scented but doesn't smell that great and last for about 2 seconds until you start reeking! I tested the product at home (as I do with all new deodorants) before venturing out into the world (i.e. shopping, work, gym) and thank goodness I did or I would have had some horrified people running away from me. Do not waste your money on this product, it doesn't work.

Absolutely horrible product. Like others have said you'd smell better not wearing anything at all. Very strange how within an hour of wearing it and not even sweating I smelled the worst I have ever smelled. I actually had to shower again. I threw it in the bin. A complete waste of $5 I should have just burned a $5 because at least I wouldn't have stunk for half the day.

Worst deodorant EVER! I have tried lots of natural deodorants, and this was by far the worst. I smell worse with this than if I don't wear deodorant at all! Half an hour after my shower, if I wear this, I smell terrible and am wet & sticky. Yuck!!
The best non-aluminum deodorant (not antiperspirant) I have found is Arm & Hammer, but it's not great either. the search continues.

I must add my voice to the chorus of nay-sayers for this product. I also wish I'd read the reviews first. I couldn't believe how poorly this product works. I even tried layering it, but no matter how much I used, it did NOT work. It stinks, and you will too, if you use it!

This works so poorly that it's criminal! You'll smell like coffee and BO after an hour! I feel so bad for the people around me who had to endure my stench while I tested this deodorant out.

Why didn't I read the reviews for this product bfore I bought it? I have been looking for more natural alternatives to deo and have been using one of those crystal deos for a few weeks. I thought why not try this. well, this worked for exactly 3 days. I didn't really sweat a lot, and I am a pit sweater, something I have noticed has decreased since doing natural deos. Anyway, after obsessively sniffing my pits, I thought OK this is working....yeah right, today in a meeting I was like what is that weird, skunky smell? It was ME! I put this on after my AM shower and it just stopped working. I smelled so bad I thought I was going to have to go home and change, luckily I had an emergency dove deod in my file cabinet. I swear this stuff caused BO, I never smell that bad, even at the gym. I love KissMyFace usually , but stay away from this deodorant. I will use chemicals if I don't have to smell like a skunk! This is hazardous to your social life!!!

I know that this product isn't supposed to prevent sweating, but it is supposed to prevent odor and it doesn't. I haven't done anything more strenuous than sitting at my computer and typing today, but man do I stink! I can only imagine how bad it would be if I was running around outside. This product did absolutely nothing. Usually I can find one good thing to say about anything, but I am stumped here. I might as well not wear anything. I was trying to avoid anti-perspirants because of the aluminum, but I'm not going to walk around at work with B.O. What a rip-off.

I LOVE this deodorant. I have it in both Patchouli (my favorite scent in any product) and Lavender. Its not an anti-perspirant so you can't expect it to stop the sweat!! As a deodorant it works amazingly well for me and keeps me from being stinky all day long under extreme conditions (Atlanta heat and humidity, hours of riding horses and cleaning the barn, 5 miles of running, etc.). I have NEVER found a deodorant that held up to my crazy physical schedule until now. I bought it a month ago for the first time on vacation in Montana and I was impressed with the way it held up through 6 hours a day in the saddle. I prefer the clear formula of this over the white residue of many deodorants, so I don't mind it seems a bit sticky sometimes. Don't write this off until you try it; just because some folks hate it doesn't mean it won't work for you.

This is garbage. I bought the patchouli scent because I love the patchouli body lotion from KMF so much. This stuff does not protect agains perspiration or odor. I def stunk like a dirty hippy - it was gross. Do not buy this deodorant unless you enjoy sweat drenched pits.

This product did the job for me, but I never stink even without deodorant. However, it gave me a rash and the texture is unpleasant, sticky. I did like the smell but I had to go back to Dove because of the allergic reaction, so be warned, some natural products can be worse than dugstore brands! :S

I bought this deodorant to use as a pick me up during the day or after a work out. The Alvera unscented is the one that I use in the morning, and it's the best that I have tried for odor and wetness protection (the only natural one that I have found effective for both). However, I do need a little something extra sometimes. This deodorant is sort of sticky, though I love the peaceful patchouli scent. I find myself blow drying my underarms on the 'cool' setting to try to help with that. Doesn't hold up well on it's own, but a good back-up for the Alvera.


update 4/28/09- I changed my mind about this deodorant, I really hate it now. It accentuates the body odor and it's really starting to get to me.

I love the idea of a natural deodorant and, since most antiperspirants make me itch, I prefer not to use them regularly. I like Tom's of Maine Apricot deodorant but I was hoping for something even better so I tried this one. Well, let me tell you. I didn't know that I could smell that bad! This stuff did absolutely nothing. I couldn't wait to get into the shower. I honestly think that you're better off using nothing at all. Terrible, useless product.

I cannot wear any products containing aluminium (that's the British spelling!) as it makes my skin burn, itch and then fall off - this combined with the awful fact that I sweat a lot when nervous, stressed, and even slightly warm means I'm desperate to find a deodorant that works.

This product did nothing. It smelled nice and applies easily enough but within half an hour I knew my underarms were wet and throughout the day I was so conscious that I was smelly...not great. I expected more from Kiss My Face.

I don't really have anything to add to what others have said. I should've read the reviews before buying, because this is worse than wearing nothing. The thin layer of goo (which remains wet/sticky on the skin) actually increases sweat and BO, and it comes in a hard concave form that is uncomfortable to apply. Too bad, because the scent was pretty (Summer). I guess this is going in the trash. So much for being green.

Why didn't I check here before I purchased this? I really dislike this stuff. I am into the natural deodorants. I've used several. While most of them are okay, I have yet to find one that works really well ALL day. I bought this after I ran out of my last one. It smells great, but the love stops there. It is so sticky and tacky that my armpits feel sticky all day. Gross! As for its power to stop that "old unbathed man smell," it doesn't last that long. Maybe just a few short hours. I'm not a huge sweater either. It is also a weird shaped gel that, when first using, actually hurts my armpits it's so hard. I guess I have to whittle it down a bit before it's comfortable and because I already paid for it, I'll use it up, but will never buy this KMF Enzyme Deodorant again.

I currently stink, and I don't even sweat (right now). Does that tell you anything about this product?

Even when I *am* sweaty, it's not stinky. I currently use Certain Dri at night, and so any daytime sweating is minimal. Admittedly, at this moment, I am slightly sweatier than normal days with Certain Dri. Slightly. And far less sweaty than pre-Certain Dri.

And I've been trying this deodorant for a while now. I give up, it's going in the trash.

I use this product when it's not hot and I'm not doing anything active. It's kind of sticky and tacky on the skin but it washes off very easily. I have the unscented version, which does kind of smell, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant was the last conventional beauty product that I was using. I switched almost a year ago, and this is the first natural deodorant that I've used consistently.

It's been working just as well for me as drugstore brands used to, but there was definitely a "transitional phase". (This is pure speculation, but I think that there's an adjustment phase as our sweat glands clear up and our underarms become accustomed to not being spackled with aluminum, antibiotics, and god-knows-what-else.)

Once I got used to natural deodorant, this one worked just fine for me.
