Sigh the hunt continues.
Amazing coverage, easy application, matte finish, great color. 5 stars! Guess it was too good to be true

I hate this foundation. The consistency is awful and the shade selection is terrible. It has little if any coverage at all and led try skin looking oily and greasy. I once tried to wear this foundation for college and I could feel it sliding off my face before I had even entered the buildings doors ! This product also smells awfull it actually smells like well emulsion. I also found thanthismproduct sticks t ever fine line in your face and really highlights I perfections. I think I used this 4/5 times and now has room a place at the back of my make up draw ! Will not buy again. Terrible product ! Not for oily skin !

I have combination skin but its not too troublesome(ThankGod). This cream gel foundation is LOVELY. When u apply it, it's so cool and refreshing on the skin and the coverage is great. It doesn't cover all my frecklesn (but then again, nothing does). The colour match of this foundation is superb! They only have 5 shades, but I found soft beige suited me perfectly (it actually DOES adapt to your skin).

It looks as if I have no make up on, its that smooth and evenly balanced. It makes your skin feel smooth, smells lovely too.

There is only one flaw.... and I wish soooo badly that Rimmel fix this....it leaves a massive white cast in flash photography :'( PLEASE RIMMEL!!! Do something! Other than that it is superb!

Wow this stuff is great. I picked this up in a rush as it was the cheapest thing in the shop. It really does feel like a gel and blends well. Only problem is oxidisation and it isn't very long lasting. I can't wait to try the concealer.

Edit: I believe the fragrance in this was upsetting my skin and giving me eczema. Changed rating to reflect this. Beware if you have sensitive skin.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this foundation! It feels cool on my skin and glides on effortlessly. Lovely smell of cucumbers and a little goes a long way. Good lasting power ( I use a primer then set with powder). It covers blemishes and imperfections really well so I only need to use concealer on big spots. I've received comments on how nice and clear my skin look which is great as it's usually a giant greaseball! My T-zone is less oily looking/shiny but its not completely gone but that doesn't bother me! I will definitely be buying this again and I highly recommend it!

It is great foundation for days when I don't need long lasting coverage (as it simply disappears from the face after a while) but looks so natural !! so Spring and Summer will be the time to use it as face, in the sun, doesn't look like has any foundation on, very natural and I love it!

I read a few reviews of this and finally decided to take a plunge and try it out. I've never used a gel like foundation before, so I started out by experimenting with application to begin with.

I would recommend applying this with a flat top kabuki/foundation brush, as I found that a normal foundation brush streaked, sponge and fingers didn't really give much coverage and blend very well.

This felt very cooling on the skin, almost cold, which was quite refreshing to feel in the mornings. With my flat top foundation brush I buff this into my skin in a circular motion, and find that it blends beautifully. I got my colour in Ivory, and it is an excellent match for me in the winter months when I tend to be quite pale.

The formula is very light and does not feel like I have anything on my skin. The texture is very gel like, it does feel slightly wet, but dries to a matte finish and leaves my skin feeling super soft after application.

This foundation does dry rather quickly, but you are still able to blend out any parts you may have missed even if it has dried slightly. This offers a medium to full coverage as you can build this up without it looking like a cake or having an orange cast. It blends away into my hairline and neck without a worry and I find that I only really use this on areas that I need it because it blends and looks so natural on the skin.

I have an oily complexion and this keeps the shine away all day, I may have to blot about once during the afternoon but other than that it keeps me pretty matte. I use the Rimmel Stay Matte and Clear Complexion powders to set this and it gives a matte finish to the skin.

I have also found that this is not hard to remove after a full day of wearing it. Using a wash cloth and my cleanser this removes every last bit of the foundation leaving my skin clean. I also think that this foundation has helped improve the texture of my skin, as some people have noted that their blemishes seem less noticeable, I also have seen a slight improvement in this as well.

The packaging is a little difficult to use, as the product gets stuck under the ridges of the glass bottle. There is however a plastic lid under the actual lid to keep the product moist and to stop it from drying out, which is a pretty good idea on Rimmel's behalf!

This stuff lasts a very long time. A small amount can go a really long way and that really pleases me as it means I won't be spending a fortune as often.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who has normal/oily skin as this is a holy grail foundation for me. It keeps the skin matte all day, provides coverage of choice depending on how much you put on, blends easily and gives a nice natural finish to the skin. I wear this foundation about 4/5 times a week and have no problems with it at all, I have no broken out which is a super plus for me!

Although I have been an avid fan of MakeupAlley for many years, I have never found a product that has impressed me enough to write a review about it - until now! This foundation is amazing!
For years I have been buying high-end foundations (mainly MAC, Aveda, Benefit, Giorgio Armani) as I had never found a budget-brand foundation that matched my skin tone/colour well. While browsing the makeup isle at my local chemist whilst waiting for a prescription to be filled, this foundation caught my eye so I had a little play. First I put some on my hand. The texture was divine. The smell was light and fresh. The colour was lovely. So, I dabbed a little on my cheek. It looked and felt so nice so I quickly applied it to me whole face. I then added some of the Rimmel translucent powder and bronzer, got my prescription and went home.
As soon as I walked through the door, my 10 year old daughter exclaimed that my makeup looked really good! Given that, I went back to the chemist and purchased these products (for less than I would normally spend on just a lipstick) and went home hoping to recreate the magic achieved in the chemist.
I have been using this foundation (colour purchased 'True Nude' - usually wear MAC NC25) for 2 weeks and the amount of compliments I have received have been outstanding! Mind you, I have recently experienced a severe acne outbreak and have been feeling awful about the state of my skin, so to have people tell me that I am glowing and look great was totally unexpected. I therefore recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a lovely foundation that is non-irritating and just gives your skin a gorgeous glow. The packaging is not the best but the product is amazing (especially for the price). So, if you are feeling like trying something new, definately give this a go!

I bougt this foundation today after noticing my current one is almost done. I was wearing MF Xperience shade 50 Beige Linen and loved the full coverage I got.

I have minimal acne on my neck and chin and dark circles under my eyes.

I was enticed to buy this product because of the price deals. All Rimmel Match perfection had £2 off the price (Superdrug UK) or I could buy 2 products for £8 so I got the 2 in one concealer illuminator also.

I tested a couple of shades on my neck and chose shade 200 soft beige.

on application (after using minimal concealor under eyes and on acne I applied with a make up sponge, like many other reviews it appeared dark on my face and dried in quite quickly but had a lovely cooling sensation and was satin smooth. I continued to apply and when I had done noticed that the dark shade had faded and had given me total coverage that looked natural and dewy.

I have slight oiliness across my Tzone but aside from that my skin is relatively normal.

its now about 6 hours later after application and my face still looks and feels fresh!

Im extremely happy with the product. perhaps in a couple of weeks i'll re-review if anything changes but for now I'm happy with my purchase and recommend it! :)

I am on my 2nd tub of this so I guess its about time I left a review!

Pros
- Good colour match. I wear 100 Ivory and it matches my NC20 skin well (I also wear MUFE F&B 20, EL DW 1N1 Ecru.
- Good coverage- medium but buildable.
- Lovely cooling, fresh feeling when applied on to the skin.
- Dries to a smooth even finish, that is not overly matte, but definitely not dewy.
- Doesn't cause breakouts.
- Reasonable wear- lasts about 6-8 hours on my skin- longer than MUFE F&B but not as long as EL DW.
- Doesn't oxidise on the skin.
- Applies well with fingers or Sephora Platinum Airbrush 55 brush.

Cons
- £6.99 for 18ml which I think is quite pricey for a cheap brand like Rimmel. The cost per ml is 38.8p and therefore it works out as £11.66 for 30ml (the size that most other foundations come in).
- Packaging unhygienic- I prefer pumps than dip your fingers in tubs.

Age: 36-43   Skin: Combination, Fair, Cool   Hair: Blond, Wavy, Fine   Eyes: Blue

This is my favorite foundation at the moment despite the wintertime. I think it will do even better in summer, for it's lightweight and sheer. The color (I have it in 100 Ivory) matches my skin tone very well and gives a subtle golden undertone that I actually need.
The coverage is medium, it covers little red patches, freckles and dark (in my case bluish) undereyes but might be too light to conceal blemishes or big pores. Doesn't show little flakes. What I like the most it gives a very natural smooth semi-matte finish with a hint of glow but with no shine nor shimmering.
The packaging is strange: the glass jar is pretty and neat by itself but it is not very convenient, I can't imagine how I will manage when the content is at the bottom. And I don't like the idea of letting my fingers into the jar every time I put on makeup. Think of using cotton buds or something. That's probably the only major drawback.
Overall a really good product for a very reasonable price. Will repurchase.

This foundation would be my go to if it wasn't for my uber dry skin. It shows up any dry patches on your face but can look good if you have exfoliated and slathered on a heavy moisturizer. It dries very quickly so work in small sections. Dries to a satin skin finish but it does look as if you are wearing foundation even though the colour does match up well. Light to Med coverage with fingers, more natural looking for the day and applies well although heavier with my Kabuki brush for an evening look. For the reasonable price and the colour match, I will most probably buy again.

Bought this product after reading amazing reviews, and I must say, this product truely does deserve amazing reviews! The creme foundation comes in a small round tub, for the price it seems a little bit of a rip off, however you really don't need a lot of this product to get fantastic coverage. When I first put it on, it looked a little orange and thick, I was a little worried. However, after a few minutes, I don't know what it does, haha, but it just sinks into your skin and moulds to your skin colour, and looks so so amazing! It's really fantastic, definitely recommend this product! Just give it a minute or two after you apply it, and don't use too much, and you will be impressed :)

After reading all the fantastic reviews on this product and my Lancome foundation was coming to an end, I thought I'll try something different and cheaper for a change.
I went to buy this product at priceline (I'm from Oz) and tested it on my hand, it felt really good and smooth in textured and it came with a free brush that looked really cute so I was very excited to buy the product.
However, when I began applying it on my face, it dried up really fast on the skin not allowing it to be very blendable AT ALL! The cooling sensation also felt like a sting and once the application was done with the foundation blush I could hardly move my face. Through out the day I felt really uncomfortable and my skin could hardly stretch and couldn't wait to go home and wash it off. Sorry Rimmel, but I don't reccommend this product at all and won't be wearing it again. I'll still stick with your mascaras though! they're awesome!

I really loved this foundation from the moment I put it on. The texture, the flawless effect, the smell.... everything was GREAT. But after 1 week of wearing it, I experienced the worst breakout I have ever had. I'm not sure exactly what it was in the product, but nothing in my skin care regimine changed but my foundation. I continued to wear it over the next two weeks, hoping my skin would adjust to the change. But things just kept getting worse. I've been pretty lucky with my skin, and haven't suffered with many problems. My skin isn't overly sensitive either, but this foundation threw my skin for a loop. I hate that I can't contine to wear this.It was great. Just don't have the skin for it:(

Ok, so I went and purchased this product today (After first checking this awesome site for reviews). I was AMAZED. I am a person who absolutely struggles with foundation. I have break out prone skin, which doesn't like a lot of makeup at all. AND I am VERY white!!!! This product went on beautifully. Nice cool sensation - and blended wonderfully! Colour was great - adapted to my white skin perfectly - with no visible jaw line color difference. I set with a very light layer of rimmel matte powder - and it has been great! I usually avoid drug store brands - as usually they are more of a hindrance than a help....but for no longer. I will buy this product again for sure!!!!

I puchased this product yesterday mainly because it came with a free mini foundation makeup brush.. and too be honest I really wasn't expecting much with this foundation due to my past experience with Rimmel products.. but I have to say.. It is absoutely amazinngggg!! GREAT coverage, evens skin tone very nicely without making your face look like one colour tone, application and blending is soo easy, I also notice it has a lovely cooling effect when you apply it as well and best of all it feels so light and looks so natural. I'd say the coverage is a light-medium but it very bulidable if desired. It can definately be doubled up as a concealer -- it covers my horrendous dark circles completely -- no other foundation OR concealer has been able to complete cover them! So happy. Will definately buy this again!

Pro:
-Only cost me $12 or 13 in Australia and also came with a free brush. This is the cheapest foundation that I've bought so far
-Easy to spread
-Medium coverage, however can be built up to full
-Can give illusion of great skin

Con:
-Terrible, and unhygienic jar packaging. I use a cotton tip to take out foundation to apply, what a pain. I recently bought a Shiseido Maquillage foundation with slightly thicker consistency, and it is packaged in a air tight container, instead of a jar like this one. So consistency of the product is not an excuse.
-I used oil control primer and set with powder, and still by lunch time, it had started to slide around T-zone area. I have combination skin. So this may not be the right foundation for those with oily skin.
-It is very easy to over-apply. It is capable of giving a illusion of perfect/ good skin, but I found the look is not natural enough for me. I dislike the doll-like, fake skin look...
-Pleasant smell and slightly cooling sensation when applied. However I don't see these 2 as benefits to any foundation product. I suspect they are the causes of my skin irritation.
-Yes, my sensitive skin dislike the product, as proved by 5-6 red bumps that I saw on my face after using it for just 1 day.

If you don't have oil and sensitive skin, you may want to give a try.... as long as you don't mind the jar packaging...

this is the most fantastic foundation i have ever had, and trust me, i've tried it all..! usually when i wear foundation i feel a bit bad cause foundation's bad for your skin but with this one it feels like im treating my skin with something wonderful! i even went to bed with it last night cause i got home very late n was super tired n fell asleep straight away and in the morning - oh my god my ACTUAL SKIN has IMPROVED like i havent seen any treatment do for my skin! i have head this foundation contains a bit of skin whitening agents and heaps of good nutrients to even out your skin tone and complexion and WOW it does, i only bought this yesterday and wearing it for the second time.. it makes my large pores appear almost gone and makes my skin look perfect like im not wearing any foundation at all! im also acne prone but dont have many pimples (cause i look after my skin) and have dark spots on my face where there used to be pimples but this evens it out perfectly!!!!! yes the gel does look nuch darker in the pot than on the skin, i got this in ivory as it is winter in Australia and it lookwd like a shade that would have a word 'tan' in it but it adapted to my skin tone perfectly it changed color! i am quite fair with yellow undertones in winter but get really brown in summer. my HG foindation my constant search is over!

I like foundations that have good coverage and makes my skin look flawless, yet looks natural and feels like i'm not wearing anything. It's also important that the foundation doesn't break me out as I have sensitive, combination skin.

This foundation ticks all my boxes.

The foundation feels runny and gel like, but it applies with a creamy mousse feeling. It also appears like a completely different shade to my skin but sets to match it perfectly. It looks like I'm not wearing any foundation in all types of lighting (sunlight, room lighting). It doesn't break me out and it smells amazing.

The only downside is that it doesn't completely cover blemishes and imperfections (though it does a modest job) so concealer is still needed. The jar packaging is also a bit messy and not very hygienic (I prefer pumps).

All in all. BEST. FOUNDATION. EVER. For foundation snobs, Rimmel Match Perfection is a MUST.
