'Dazzling Plum' is spot-on drugstore dupe for my HG l/s NARS "Fast Ride" - a.m.a.z.i.n.g color and almost the exact formulation of NARS sheer l/s- It is the most gorgeous mulberry color, 2.5 shades darker than my natural lip color, and I have yellow undertones in my fair-med skintone. I now toggle b/t both my "Fast Ride" and 'dazzling plum' everyday, day and night. These are my only two lip products and I keep badger balm for occasional deep conditioning. the two sheer l/s moisturize my lips perfectly, feel balmlike and are absolutely gorgeous alongside minimal eye makeup (black eyeliner on lower lid, mascara, blush or no blush) . .

I purchased one in 'Mango Diamonds' (445). It's a gorgeous bright coral shade with shimmer and has sheer coverage. These lipsticks are a cross between a lipgloss and a lipstick so don't expect full coverage with these. They have a nice glossy finish and a small amount of shimmer that will be left behind once the colour wears off. They have a very faint fruity scent and need to be reapplied often as they don't last long on your lips. Overall, I love the consistency and smooth formula of these lipsticks. Would be happy to repurchase another shade.

I love this because it is kind of a cross between lipstick and lip gloss. It has no taste or smell, it gives a fantastic shine and it comes in several beautiful shades. My favourite is Lacquered Brown, which was discontinued (weird since it is the best shade), but I found one in the deleted bin. I also have it in the pink and plum shades. I use them alone, or layered on top of other lipsticks. One of my favourite lipsticks ever. I'll keep buying this (if I ever use up the 5 I currently have).
Edit: I still love this and use it daily, and I still give it my highest rating. It is only a glorified gloss/balm type of thing, but it lasts way longer than the others of this type. Maybelline's current line of lipsticks are no good for me - the texture and smell and shades are just a poor substitute for their Moisture Wear line that they had for years, many of which I still use. But this gloss line is something special.

I bought the Plum Shine (830) shade and love it. The shimmer is very smooth and the color is quite saturated if you don't put on a balm first. I'm fair with pink undertones and this turned a lovely berry/reddy/plum on me. I tested most of the shades on the back of my hand and this one looked neutral, but bright...if that makes sense. I wear lots of nudes and raisin colors normally and was looking for something a little redder. This was perfect for me.

I got this lipstick in two shades, juicy pink and ice tea and i noticed that the name of the shades are different here in australia then in the us as for the lipsticks themselves i think they are wonderful, juicy pink is a gorgeous shimmery barbie doll pink and ice tea is a nude shimmer pink great for a smokey eye as for the shine part it is pretty shiny and the staying power is pretty good compared to the wet shine lipsticks which had zero staying power, overall i love these lipcolours and will be buying more shades soon.

Shiny for maybe an hour, then wears off and leaves my lips dry and faded with clumps of product bleeding outside my lipline. Not good. Won't buy again.

I got this product in 5 colors, one I swapped her on MUA before I tried the color cause I did not like it once I got home and looked at it in true light (plum color). The 4 colors that I have a use are Pink Freeze, Disco Pink, Glisten Up Pink, & Nude Glow. Kind of strange that I got some many pinks cause im not really a pink girl unless I wear a really nice silver and black smokey eye. Well when I did my eyes and put this on I was amazed. The pigmentation was great and the shine was outrageous. I was like Wow I could not believe it. It was so smooth to have glitter the glitter was not chunky at all, In fact I could not feel the glitter in the lipstick at all. Whoever says that this does not shine is CRAZY!! I cant say that they are my fave lipsticks but they are deff. GREAT!!!I say get one just to try im sure you will like them. The down side is that this line does not have a wide array of colors so you have to pick out the ones that they have. All in all I think that these are great. They give a nice shine and are very smooth, no gloss or chapstick needed!!!

I have this in fruit punch, coral lustre, pink freeze, disco pink, and glisten up pink. They are nice colors, although I found coral lustre and pink freeze don't show up much on me. The pigmentation is just ok. I also find them to be slightly drying.

I had to update this review to say that neither color I reviewed below stayed true to color. And, although they were completely different colors, they both fade away to bright fuchsia. Not only did they fade, they faded very quickly and left a hard to remove fuchsia stain on my lips. Very surprising, as well, since one had "brown" in the name. These were the only two colors that would even come close to looking good on me as I look terrible in lighter pinks, corals and bright reds, which seems to be the main colors of choice for the "high shine" lipsticks. So, please read on but know that these colors may turn on you especially these that are highly pigmented darker colors.
I bought two of these lipsticks: one in Dazzling Plum and one in Lacquered Brown. First off, the lipsticks go on easily without lipliner and opaque, which is what I wanted. There is a slight smell but no bad taste and the smell, not entirely unpleasant goes away quickly. It has almost the shine of a gloss without the glop.
The Dazzling Plum is a shimmery dark shade of plum red. It really brightens my face. Great for the holidays. I really like that it doesn't go on bright or pink. I like dark but not bright.
Lacquered Brown is really not very brown. It is a slightly brown gorgeous plum. I see this shade becoming my new favorite. It is great with my brown eyes. Don't let the word "sheer" make you think this is not going to have color. It has plenty of color but not quite as opaque as the cremes. The top reviewer said it was a sheer chocolate brown, but this couldn't be further from the truth.
Right now, they're buy one get one half off at Ulta and I had a coupon from O magazine. That's about the only time it would be a good deal to buy from there, but you have to buy a couple of them. Otherwise they're less than $5 each at my Walmart.

I'm on the fence with this product. It's okay but the formula in the ads makes it seem like the formula is a silky more smooth formula. The lip stick was thick and had too much thick glitter. I mean I love shimmer but not when the flecks are so big it's obvious is glitter. I had to apply lip balm because the product itself felt dry on my lips. Overall a disappointment. Won't buy again.

Maybe it's just me, but this lipstick made me look very trashy. Pink Freeze made my lips look far too cheap and gross. Not recommended.

Purchased Plum Shine (#830) and really like it. It's moisturizing, stays in place, and feels quite hydrating on the lips. I don't feel the need to lick it off and it doesn't make my lips peel. It does not have a high shine or mirror shine as the name implies, but it has a nice shimmery gloss. Plum shine is a plum/dark red more than a purple plum. It's really pretty on and would suit many skin tones.

Very nice lipstick! I bought 'Plum Shine' #830. It's not a purple plum, it's red plum (I call it muted rustic mauve-red), kinda like a *gently* browned ruby. More dressy than colors I generally wear for everyday, but it's a very flattering shade. I love the soft shine that develops shortly after application as bodyheat warms it up & I love the slightly-iridescent sheen that adds dimension. The lipstick surprisingly stays put & doesn't melt, run or feather beyond the lipline. It wears a very long time for a lipstick & it doesn't dry my lips out in the process.
I'm not much of a lipstick girl (I'm a lipgloss junkie) unless it's sheer, glossy or sparkly. While this lipstick gives great color payoff, it can be worn sheer like a lipstain or built up for rich color. I like that versatility.
I love the texture of this lipstick - it's weightless like I'm not wearing any lipstick @ all. But it's also moisturizing & soothing on the lips, not grainy or pasty or drying. Very nice!
The packaging is nice too. It reminds me of a cross btwn the classic Maybelline lipstick packaging shape (think Wet Shine Diamonds 2002) + Dior Shine Addict (holographic translucence) + Lancome (dunno why, lol). I like that the case clicks closed securely so the cap will never come off in a purse.
I paid $8.50 for this @ CVS & am looking forward to finding more colors (the display case was almost empty - not to mention these are a dickens to find!). I unexpectedly found a new favorite lipstick! It's been several yrs since I fell in love w/any particular lipstick (which then of course always gets D/C). My last love was DiorAddict High Shine, & this Maybelline is by far cheaper. Excellent product by Maybelline!

Maybelline should rethink its color naming process. I also bought 'Mauvilous Shine' #820 & I find nothing mauve about it - it's a pearly blush PINK. This 1 is more frosty & not so glossy as the other 1 I bought, but it is creamy. The color is subtle, feminine & pretty, so it's not a total disappointment. Good for a very soft, feminine, romantic look. Color payoff clings long after the lipstick wears away. Leaves a pretty pink stain on my lips & my lips still don't feel dry. I love how this lipstick acts like a great lipbalm. Looking forward to trying more colors (right now they're still VERY hard to find!).

Finally got my hands on 'Dazzling Plum' #835 (I'm a purple freak) which I could find absolutely nowhere, so I had to order it online from Target (MUCH better prices here). Holy grail of holy grails! This is one of those very rare plum shades I absolutely love & try to hunt with all my might. It is glossy & deep, so if I layer it on for high shine, the color's too dark for me. The only way I can properly wear it is as a sheer stain on my lips, which leaves a matte finish (then top w/gloss). A sheer shimmery pink gloss turns this color into a vibrant mulberry magenta, for instance. Love it. Again, these lipsticks are so longwearing.
So...when are these lipsticks going to become easily accessible in stores, for goodness sake?? I can barely find them anywhere so far!

WELL FINALLY THIS LIPSTICK LINE GOT ITS OWN SPACE IN STORE MAKEUP SECTION! It's about time already! Grabbed the last 'Lacquered Brown' #850 (& it was used, eww) as it looked like a very tempting shade. Happily it's not brown (as I said before, Maybelline doesn't know how to recognize colors), it's a muted mauvey raisin, so happily it has some plum in it (I already like that). Color doesn't come on strong but can be built up. PERFECT. $7.29 @ Rite Aid. Would be great if Maybelline could add more colors to this line (there's only about 8 shades)...though for sure they would misname the shades as usual, lol. ;-)

I bought this in Lacquered Brown. I'm happy with the staying power and sheen of this lipstick, but Lacquered Brown ended up being way too dark and, well... brown. My own fault I guess, but I was really hoping it would be more sheer. It's a nice color, but not on me. It's brown with a plum tinge, and if I apply two layers of it it basically looks like a cocoa colored 90s style brown lipstick. If I layer it over gloss or lip balm, it looks much more sheer and plummy/mauve. This would look great on darker skintones.

Hmmm. "High Shine" is a misnomer -- you'll get a lustre finish at best. if you want glossy, you'll have to add gloss. But these feel good on the lips and are very pretty.
I have Plumshine (lovely and rich) and also got the Mauve color and ended up returning it. It didn't show up on my pigmented lips at all. These are sheer, and, as mentioned, not really shiny, so having no color meant it was like a non-product, for me. I exchanged the mauve for Fruit Punch and love it. A Reddish coral, quite bright and appealing.
Why two Plums? one wonders. And all the Pinks are confusing -- they need better names. No Berries or Reds? What? I had a BOGO deal, and I was pressed to find 2 colors that would work on my fair skin.
Let's hope those deeper colors come out in the fall/winter. We need more of these!
Ugly packaging. Really? We need high shine to show it's High Shine?

I have this new lippie in Plum Shine. It's a deep plum with brown in it. It's shimmery and shiny without being gritty and the color is very flattering-- I have medium toned skin, brown hair and eyes. It's a little dark for summer, but I will wear it anyway and hope to pick up some others in lighter/brighter shades. I also like that the name of the color is big and clear on the bottom of the tube because the tubes are all the same color and it makes it easier to find the shade you're looking for in your purse or makeup bag.

This is a great semi-sheer l/s, smoother & shinier than the original Color Sensational, & it has very good lasting power for a sheerer formula. It also has a much nicer scent.I got the mauve shade which I think is a misnomer - it's a natural rosy pink with just a touch of shimmer, the kind of thing that would look good on anyone. I'm not crazy about the tube, which I think is cheap-looking, but that's a minor point. Hopefully they will keep this product in the line & introduce more shades.

Yay! I've located these new lippies at Walgreens and CVS. I like them a lot too, they remind me of the wet diamonds from 8+ years ago. I've tried at least five different shades. They're not as pigmented as the regular color sensational lippies, but they smell a lot better (citrusy). The packaging comes in a sleek silver case too. I'm glad Maybelline released this for spring/summer.
