Smells great! Holds but is flexible! My HG of hair products
Age: 36-43 Skin: Very Oily, Dark, Warm Hair: Black, Straight, Coarse Eyes: Brown
THE GOOD: Nice smell, although it might be a tad too strong if you spray a lot of it on. Delivers a fine mist. Holds the shape of your style. Great at taming the odd flyaway.
THE BAD: Won't retain body and support. If you are looking for something to hold a high or spiky style up, This won't do it alone unfortunately. Doesn't do well in humidity either.
THE WORST: My main use of hairspray is not to style, but to protect it from the weather, namely gusty winds and year-round humidity. It does the poorest job at that.
Overall, this is a good shaping and styling spray. Not meant for fixating, however.

This is the first hairspray that doesn't make my hair sticky or stiff! It doesn't weigh my hair down, and you can't really notice I have hairspray in my hair. Its especially good for keeping curls, as it doesn't weigh the hair down. Other hairsprays didn't really work on my hair and I had always struggled to find a good one. For a while Rusk was only sold at professional stores, but Target has recently started carrying it! Wahoo!

W8less Plus Hairspray
My hair is medium thickness and has a natural wave and texture is smooth. Non-colored.
Here's my review:
Odor: Pleasant smell, you can smell it after you spray. If you spray alot it would be overpowering and a lingering scent.
Finish: Holds well without a 'crispy' layer of spray.
Performance: Holds well- you might need to touch up if you have an updo.
Cost: Middle to high end.
Bought at: CVS (Drugstore)
My rating scale is: EXCELLENT, GOOD, FAIR AND POOR
Overall rating for this product: EXCELLENT.
I think this is a very good hair spray.

I have only been using this hairspray for 3 days but had to write a review! I absolutely love it. I normally buy non-aerosol but bought this b/c it can be used on wet hair (which I need) and provides flexible hold. Made my hair feel really soft and nice and shiny. Very nice light scent too. I have naturally curly, thick, frizz-prone hair. And this stuff held my curls nicely. Highly recommend and plan to repurchase!

I rarely write reviews but this stuff is worth it! I had a bottle of it, used the whole thing and loved it. Because it's pricey I tried to find an equivalent for less $$. Nothing compares to this stuff! It;s a very fine mist, holds my pixie style wonderfully and doesn't look like I have hairspray. I think I can safely say this is my HOLY GRAIL of hairsprays. The cheapies just don't compare!

Just received a gift with W8less Plus and realized I never reviewed this hairspray until now.
I've used Rusk's W8less for quite a few years now and really like it. My hair is very long, fine, highlighted, one length & straight and so the style isn't one that requires a lot of hold but this spray works great on my hair. It doesn't weigh it down nor make it stiff or unbrushable. In humidity the highlighted sections of hair sometimes get a little less smooth and this spray helps keep everything in check while leaving my hair to move freely and appear natural.
ETA: One lippie off for my personal preferences and not being a big fan of aerosol type sprays.

I love this hairspray!!! I have thick, frizz prone hair that I flat iron in a smooth bob and this helps keep it in line without making it sticky or dull. I only need to shampoo my hair every 2-3 days, and I can use this product every day without build-up. The only complaint I have is the spray button is old fashioned and if you spray too close to your head, it actually blows your hair around. The smell is awesome and compared to the Sebastian product I was using, the price is right.

I picked this hair spray up at Marshalls for 5 bucks, what a steal. I hadn't read the great reviews I just needed hair spray. I curled my hair with a 1.5 inch barrel 2 days ago and my curls are still in, mind you I have straight hair. Not slick straight but def. not even wavy.

I've always used drugstore hairsprays but never got the strong hold I was looking for. It would hold at first but let go after a few hours. I used this hairspray and 3 barrell curled my hair for my birthday and it lasted all night long (through the dancing, weather, etc). It smells great too! Little pricey for my liking but that's to be expected because it is a salon product. Well worth the money though!

I received a small sample bottle of this from my stylist. I tried it today for the first time. It's not bad. It's got fairly strong hold (more than most others that claim to be "Extra Strong"), but not the absolute strongest I've tried (the strongest would be Got2Be Glued hairspray or Fructis XXL Volume hairspray). It might be strong enough once I get my hair cut again because it's normally at least a couple inches shorter than it is now (it's currently between my chin and shoulders). Until then, I can't be sure. I do like the texture of the product though. I like that it's a really fine mist and doesn't leave my hair looking wet. It also doesn't leave a white residue or cloudyness on my jet black hair, which some products do. So, it's nice in that sense. I have no idea what this spray is worth, seeing as how I only received a free sample, so I can't say for sure that I'd buy it. I'll see what it's like when my hair's a bit shorter and then, if I like it, maybe look into buying a bottle.

I got this some time ago as a free sample from Ulta. Normally this product is expensive, but it will be on sale at Ulta starting tomorrow (I get their brochures in the mail). I live in an extremely windy climate, and I was amazed at how well this kept my hair in place. It's not perfect, but it does work very well. I really didn't think anything could help in this climate.

I like this hairspray, but I have to use so much to get my hair to hold - and then it turns into this crusty mess. I do like this better than most hairsprays because it is so easy to comb out. I use this with W8Less (see my review), but I will be looking for another cheaper hairspray. I go through a can of the w8less and w8less plus once every month or month and a half. I will buy this again in the future, but not in the near future.

I absolutely love Rusk hairspray. It's light (but works very well), isn't sticky or gummy and is easy to brush/comb through. I like that my hair doesn't feel gross the second day after using hairspray. I'll keep buying this until they decide to stop making it (which would be a sad sad day!)
Between the W8less and W8less Plus, I think the Plus is my fav. I recommend completely.

I bought this after reading some reviews and decided to try it since I have lots of fine but heavy hair. I like that this spray doesn't dry my hair out, and I like the scent, but it doesn't seem to provide much hold for my hair as a finishing spray. I blow dry my hair with a round brush, curl it w/a large barrell curling iron, and then spray my hair w/hairspray as a finish and kind of fluff it up some so it's not dead straight. At first it looks nice and touseled but within a half an hour my hair is flat again. If I re-apply it does the same thing. I will probably use this when rolling my hair in velcro rollers or hot rollers to set, and then will find something w/better hold as a finishing spray. This just wasn't up to the challenge of giving my hair long-lasting volume.

I love this hairspray so so so much that I usually buy 4 or 5 cans at a time. It holds without being sticky and doesn't weigh the hair down at all. Plus it shoots out a very fine mist, which I love.

Wow! I can't believe I actually found a hairspray that surpasses my beloved John Frieda Moisture Barrier Hairspray... but I did!! I should mention, that as a curly girl, I do not use hairspray in a very traditional manner. I actually apply my mousse or gel of the day and then give my hair a spritz of hairspray while it is still damp. This allows my hair to dry with a good, humidity resistant hold... yet, still maintain a soft, shiny feel. W8less Plus can be used on wet or dry hair and has the "signature" Rusk scent (ala cK One). It leaves my curls bouncy and full, smelling great, and ultra shiny! Best of all, it truly beats the South FL humidity!! Highly recommended!
