I have eczema-prone skin and previously used Cetaphil products, but there was something lacking that I couldn't quite put my finger on, so I decided to buy this after having a positive experience with a borrowed hand cream. I do not regret it a single bit.
Truly a holy grail product, this makes my skin baby-soft, heals my dry patches overnight, and it soaks into the skin within a reasonable amount of time.
It's pretty comparable to Cetaphil with the exception of a few things it does better. While for the most part it is unscented, it doesn't smell 'medicine-y' like many hypoallergenic products tend to do,in fact it smells somewhat pleasant. With Cetaphil, I would out this on at night and wake up with a film of lotion all over me. Not with this. I'll slap some on after a shower and by time I'm ready to get dressed it'll be soaked in.
I really cannot recommend this enough, it really is a flawless product in my eyes, with the exception of during the summer, when it can get really thick. But they have a lighter version of the lotion that comes in a tube that is perfect for the less arid months of the year. 5/5.

*REBADGE ALERT*

. . . so i'm pretty sure they have renamed this stuff Norwegian Formula Intensive Moisture Wrap Body Treatment. It comes in the type of botle and box it did before but there are new red accents on both.

i think they came out with a lighter version of it also - in a tube - called Intensive Moisture Wrap Lotion.

I have been using this wonderful product for decades. As I age, my skin's texture has gotten very scaly. This is the only product that makes a difference! I stopped using it for a period, but I will never stray again!

Fabulous product! I have been a big fan of Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Hand Cream for years, but the tube it comes in is so small and doesn't last me very long. I sorted through the larger bottles in the Norwegian Formula series to see if they had a similar formula in a larger, pump bottle. Body Emulsion seemed liked it would be the closest fit. Lo and behold, it does the same thing as the Hand Cream, it is just a little thinner in consistency and there is a LOT more in the bottle. Like the Hand Cream, Body Emulsion's second ingredient is glycerin, which I have found is key in softening very dry skin and keeping it soft. This is my go-to lotion for super dry skin. I use it on my hands, my face, my body...it works everywhere. And it has a great, fresh scent as well. I'm glad I discovered it, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

This is an excellent product, my skin loves it and I used it for many years. Ironically, it hasn't been avaliable in Norway for years. I'd prefer it if us Norwegians got to benefit from the Norwegian formula too!

This is a staple in my daily routine!
I love love love this lotion! It's thick and stays in place!
It does have a strong scent, but I kinda like it.
I use it everywhere! I find it helps keep my hands and feet looking the best they possibly can in the winter......through my harsh skin drying central heating, and the biting winds that plague my area.

I don't know what on earth I'd do without this lotion!
I highly recommend it for anyone who has really dry skin, or sensative skin.

Finally...a moisturizer that actually keeps my skin moisturized! Generally, I wake up in the morning with terribly flaky, dry skin on my cheeks and around my mouth. Usually I slather on Vaseline or Aquaphor at night on top of my nightly moisturizer, to seal it in, but lately that hasn't been working so well (damn you, central heating and Benzaclin!). But I've been using Body Emulsion on my face, and I've been waking up with skin that's still soft. I haven't been using it long, so I don't know if it'll clog my pores or whatever, but I love it so far!

I have very sensitive combo skin on my face and dry senstive body skin. I am reviewing the Fragrance Free Formula. I only use this on my face and its the best. Its recommend by plastic surgeons...never had work done. I use it allover my face including eye area both day and nite and it makes skin glow, glides on easily and smoothly without clogging pores. They claim it goes on like a lotion but feels like a cream and its true. It's rich instead of runny and leaves a nice sheen on my face. I dont use it on my sensitive, dry body skin cuz it's not rich enough for me but it might work for others. If you haven't tried this on the face..check it out.

I have severely sensitive, eczema-prone skin on my body, which sometimes clears up in the summer. During said summers, I have strayed from this lotion and always, always regretted it. This leaves me with beautifully soft and irritation-free skin. Will continue to repurchase forever and ever.

As with all pump lotions, there is always a TON more lurking at the bottom when you think there isnt any left.

I have been using this lotion for 9 years now. Every now and then I venture out to try something else and I always wind up back with my first love. I cannot stand the scent of the scented kind, so it's always non scented for me, but I double dare anyone to try to find a dry patch or flake of any kind on me anywhere! My one and only complaint, and it's a small one, is that the lotion is so greasy (which I love), that in the summer time it's almost too much. I work in a dirty place and the dirt almost sticks to my legs when I wear capri pants. I will forever love this lotion. If you have dry skin like I do, then you will not regret buying this stuff!!

I, like some others who've posted here, have been using this product for a LONG time. There is NO other lotion like it. It gives me perfectly moisturized skin year-round, even through the most brutal Chicago winters. I wish it was easier to find in stores - people really have no idea what they're missing! Long live Neutrogena Emulsion!

I generally don't worry too much about lotions, but recently this winter when the weather dropped into the single digits, my skin was so extremely dry and itchy that I unconsciously scratched my shin until the skin broke and bled! That was my wake-up call to get some super-serious moisturizer. With most lotions that I have used, they sink nicely into the skin, but then I feel like I need to apply more. Because of the extent of my dry skin, in this case I wanted something that I felt would actually sit on the skin and keep it moisturized. For me, this fit the bill. Honestly, when I first applied this emulsion I felt kind of like my skin was suffocating under it, which was somewhat uncormfortable, but it seems like the only solution for my seriously dry winter skin. Again, for me personally, this is my "drastic measures" product for terribly dry skin, but based on previous reviewers' comments, it sounds like users' experience with it varies quite a bit.

This my all-time HG product -- probably the longest relationship I have is with this lifesaver! I'm 39 now, and I've been using it since high school. I have had dry skin all my life, and believe me, I've tried many, many body lotions. But NOTHING works like this one: no scaling, no peeling, no itchiness, no tightness -- just lovely moisturized skin. I get the unscented, which just smells like lotion, and the smell doesn't linger; the scented version is also nice, as it smells clean, not perfumey. Whenever I get bored and try something else, I end up giving it away, since it does nothing for me. If you've got dry skin, this is the one. I've been getting worried that this is being discontinued, as it's harder to find in drugstores here in NYC, and drugstore.com doesn't have it. I just bought 10 10-ounce bottles through amazon, at a very good price (2 for about $15), but am thinking I should really stock up! If this cream disappears, I'm going to turn into a little pile of dust.

its getting colder which also translates to skin getting drier. ditched my summer lotion and decided to give this a try and i love it. moisturizes really well without greasiness. it doesn't just sit on top of the skin but instead it gets easily absorbed leaving my skin feeling soft and supple. however i only gave 4 lippies coz i prefer my body lotion to have a pleasant smell. im not saying this lotion stinks but the smell is very mild and faint its almost fragrance free. but i can forgive that coz i like the way it moisturizes my skin and the pump bottle is very convenient.

This has been a staple in my bathroom for over 14 years. I used to unfaithfully try other lotions/creams but always came back to this one until I just gave up on trying other brands altogether. I use the large unscented version everyday and I'm not even tempted to try any of the new body lotions that are out. Now that I'm older, I have been noticing that my skin needs a little more so I've been adding a drop of jojoba oil per pump and my skin's back to the way it looked when I was younger and first started using this product. In a pinch, I'll dab this on my orbital area and my lips when they're severly dry or on my hair to tame flyaways. Definite HG. \^^/

HG material! Leaves my ultra dry skin super soft and silky. Melts into my skin like butter. I buy the unfragranced version, so on occasion I will mix my perfume with it to get a nice fragranced lotion. This is the most expensive of the drugstore brands, but it's worth it. Rivals more expensive products like Kiehls creme de corps. My only complaint about the packaging is that it's hard to get all the lotion out when it's almost gone, but nearly every lotion is like that. Not worth a missing lippie though!

This was my HG body lotion until Eucerin Plus edged it out by a narrow margin due it its ability to moisturize my superdry skin just a little more than this. But years later, and in the mood for a little variety, I had to check this out again and I am reminded of how this stuff rocks! I think I will now alternate between these 2 HG body lotions, they're both so awesome. Neutrogena Body Emulsion does a GREAT job of moisturizing my very dry, sometimes-scaly body skin. Skin is left smooth, soft, nourished and feeliung relieved. And the results last ALL DAY. Love that. Plus, one way this is better than the Eucerin is that it's spreadable, not too thick to manuever (I LOVE Eucerin plus but sometimes it's difficult to spread). Great product! :)

I suffer from a mild case of eczema, and this lotion is the only one I've tried that actually works and isn't too greasy. The pleasant scent is a plus as well, in fact I've been complimented on my 'parfum', lol. For best results, use right out of the shower.
