Got this product in a prize package from Stila. The one I got is in Taffy. This is remarkable! I have used Too Faced Shadow Insurance, MAC Paint Pot, Urban Decay Primer Potion and Elf primes. None can compare! It evens out skintone and holds shadow all day. It does remind me of my MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. Except this works better. First I like to use UD's Primer Potion then a thin layer of Stila's Prime Pot. This combo works like nothing else. Although, it is awesome on its own the UD gives it that something extra... I think.

Not the best. I have it in taffy. The colour is pretty, however, for the product to be classified as an eyeshadow primer, this prime pot does not fit the bill. It always creases. I'll probably use the remainder as a highlight. After using Urban Decay's Primer Potion for years (and it's still the best for me!), I cannot recommend the Stila Prime Pot as an eyeshadow primer.

This isn't a bad product, but it doesn't work all the time for me... I have oily lids & this does not work at all for applying eyeshadow on top of. It creases & smears very easily. My top choice for primer is Too Faced Shadow Insurance. However I do use the Stila primer on days when I don't wear eyeshadow. The colour is a nice match to brighten up & even out tone on my eyelids. It still creases a bit after a few hours so not a perfect product but easy enough to re-apply. I don't think I will repurchase.

I have this in Taffy. I have really dark eye lids on already dark skin (NW40/43). I bought this instead of a Paint Pot because this is marketed as an actual primer. Being that I already have really oily lids, I wanted something like this instead of sinking money into a Paint Pot.
A little bit goes a long way, this product took a bit of getting used to. Right out of the pan its very creamy, but you need to immediately put it on your lid and immediately blend it. It dries insanely fast, and can go on a bit thick. If you don’t blend it right away, it will be a mess to put shadow over.
As a primer, its pretty good, nothing super impressive though. My 1$ Elf primer works better.

This is honestly the only product from Stila that I can stand keeping in my stash for longer than a few days. All other Stila products get returned or swapped immediately, but this one's a keeper.

The primer is a weird (but good) texture, it's cooling on the lids and you only need a very small amount. I have this in taffy and it's a bit too pink for my skintone but I still like it anyway.

It dries quickly so I've found the best way to apply is with a synthetic angled/doe foot brush (like ELF's studio angled contour brush). I tap it into the prime pot ever so gently and then quickly pat onto my lids, blending in until it's dried.

Keeps my shadows on all day with absolutely zero creasing.

I purchased the Caramel shade as soon as it came out last year. The color is beautiful and is a great match for my skintone, but it dried out after the first use. Now if I try to apply it, it drags on my eyelid, which does not feel great. I'm pissed because I have MAC paint pots that I purchased in 2008 and they are still holding strong with no resistance. This is a total waste of money ($20). I saw that Hautelook had it on sale last week for $9, I almost bought but then I came to my senses.

I'm also surprised by the luke-warm reviews. This has become my HG eyeshadow base & primer; so much so, that I have maybe a third left after 7 months of use.

I have very fair, NW10 skin with very pink/red eyelids. I had relied on Benefit Lemon Aid for everyday for years (throughout 4 years of university) and it was a god-send for early, rushed mornings - bit of Lemon Aid on the lid, a bit of bronzer, MAC Strada or Omega in the socket for a bit of detail. Unfortunately, Lemon Aid was just average as a primer; and forgoing lid primer with a cream shadow such as NARS or MAC paint pots equaled creasing. The Stila Prime Pot is the absolutely best of both worlds - a clean canvas for eyeshadows (whereas I would have had to use two products before) and very effective as an eyeshadow primer.

Unfortunately, unlike Benefit Lemon Aid - this is too dark to wear on it's own. Taffy (the lighter shade) leans a little orange; but no matter. I've got a lot more time now and better eyeshadow skillz to actually attempt something more than a crease colour and eyeliner. It's a must for me, and all my neutral shadows.

Definately an HG, 5 Lipstick product for me. I gave the packaging a three - it's fine, but not outstanding and leaving the lid loose would effect the product. However, I'm willing to overlook the packaging (not that it bothers me much) for how well it performs. I will definately buy again when I run out.

I didn't like this at all. Has a thick, dry texture making it difficult to spread out. This also dried up on me. I always close the lid well but it dried out so much that the product shrank. Doesn't prevent creasing at all. Gives a cakey, dry look to the skin and eye shadow emphasizes that. It made eyeshadow more vibrant but that was the only advantage to this product. For the price I expected more. Would not recommend.

I received this product (small size) as a 100 point perk from sephora at the beginning of December 2011, I have used this every single day since then and I love it. It is so easy to use, it glides on quickly and evenly, it brightens my eye, and makes my shadows last all day. This is a consistent staple and I will buy this again when I run out of my sample! A little goes a long way, I still have probably 3 months worth of product left! An absolute gem in the world of primers, and I've tried UD primer potion, benefit stay don't stray, and Too Faced shadow insurance.

Pretty good eye primer, it extends the life of my eyeliner/ eyeshadow by an extra 1 or 2 hours. I probably won't buy it again because there are other primers out there that could do the job (and probably at a cheaper price). Be careful not to apply too much though, because the cream-to-powder texture can get a bit cakey if you're not careful. On the other hand, this stuff lasts forever. I haven't even made a dent in it and I've been using it almost daily for 2 or 3 months now.

I got this and I applied this as a base on my eyelid and then use Sephora waterproof jumbo eye pencil on top of my Stilia base. Then i put eyeshadow; It makes my eyeshadow vibrant and sticks on well without creasing throughout the day as I tend to get oily eyelids. Works wonder with this combo! I have tried other primer and it either made my eyelid dry and my eyeshadow cakey, but this one works great as a base. This is the eyeshadow base I reached for the most.

This does get the job done but I like UDPP and even E.L.F. better. In a pinch I would use it but Taffy, the lightest color, is still a bit dark for me and you have to apply it very carefully and blend the edges because it's a bit thick.

I got this for the 100 point perk at Sephora and I would have never thought I would enjoy using this product but I am really loving it It evens out my lids, keeps my shadow lasting, and also it makes my shadow more vibrant. I think the sample I have will last for quite awhile since I only need a small amount but I may buy the full size when I run out. We'll see :)

I got this as a sample from Sephora for redeeming 100 beauty points. I'm glad I chose this from all the other options I had, which I can't remember now. I don't think I would have purchased this if not for having this sample first. So lets get down to the nitty gritty, I love it but NOT as a primer. Let me explain, I have super duper oily lids and have been using TFSI or UDPP and am happy with both of them. I tried to use this as a primer and my shadow started creasing after about 3 hrs, and with my UDPP and TFSI it, dare I say, never creases until I take it off. I love this prime pot instead as a concealer. I love how it helps with my eyelid discoloration and even though I don't really use concealer this just makes my under eyes look much nicer, and the times I do wear concealer it sets it nicely. It's creamy enough to use under the delicate eye area. This has become an everyday staple, since it's great for an everyday 'natural' look as well as a great foundation, so to speak, to build the rest of your eye make up look. BTW, the color I'm reviewing is 'Taffy'

Got this as a sample… and I all I can say is- don’t waste your money. My elf eyelid prime for $1 NEVER creased, and the nice silicone feel was nice. This is creamy, yes, and it also evens out your eyelid colour.. but quite frankly I dont really care if its going to gather and look all nasty in my crease after 4 hours.

I got this in the colour taffy (a medium, neutral skin colour) as a 100 point perk at Sephora, and have been using it for a good 3 weeks so I can really get a feel for it before doing this review. I absolutely love that it completely covers all of my eyelid discolouration before putting on my shadow, so I can start with a blank canvas. It's very smooth, creamier and thinner than MAC paint pots. I also don't have any problems with creasing with the prime pots. Here's the thing- compared to my mainstay Too Faced Shadow Insurance, I noticed a difference in this products ability to prevent fading and smudging throughout the day, which is the main thing I want in a primer. With TFSI, my eye makeup looks exactly the same by the end of a long day as when I first applied it. Unfortunately, after 6+ hours my eyeshadow seems less vibrant and sometimes transfers on my lids when I use the stila prime pot.

Let's face it, everything will eventually crease, that's life. I have very oily eyelids and this has worked the best ,tried UDPP, TFSI, NARS, E.L.F, NYX, MAC paints & paint pots, BareMinerals. don't over saturate your eyelid, give it a little time to dry before you apply e/s.

This is the best primer I have used. I tried them all and even UD primer comes in second to this. My lids are oily and this really keeps the shadow from creasing.
