i waited long time to order this one and finally i got it from the france website. i received the small pack version, i guess i am lucky. the pack is light, not like the studio cream blushes that i received. easy to take it in your bag or for travel. the color is lovely. do not doubt about it! it is close to my skin color, but easy to wear for work. it doesnt have glitters or that sort and stays relatively well on the eyelids with elf mineral eyeshadow primer. very natural color that i will use all alone or under powder eyeshadows

Elf is very hit & miss, this is definitely a hit!! This is such a versatile colour & easily buildable so can be worn for many different looks. Looks great with black or brown eyeliner & rosy cheeks. I am so in love with this product, so versatile & is very easily applied with fingers. The only downside is the bulky packaging.

The brush that it comes with is the only one that seems to work for me... But I LOVE the color! I do have to apply a few coats but it was such a great price! Will be buying again!

Only complaint is that you can't close the lid all the way, or if you try to make it tight, the square packaging doesn't line up. Other than that: fabulous go-to. If I do sloppy eyeliner, I just smooth this over a little and it evens things out. I have extremely oily lids and this has never creased on me. You can layer it. You can use as a base. Absolutely adore this. Can't beat the price.

I selected this shade after reading reviews on makeupalley, since it sounded like it would apply well. I would call this a beige-gold. The consistency of this cream shadow is different to any other cream shadows I have ever tried it's drier and harder so you need the warmth of your finger to apply it. I love that it gives a natural look and would look good on any skintone. You could also build ithe colour up too. It hasn't creased on me yet.The colour lasts all day, yesterday i wore it from 11am-11pm.It's cheap and easy to apply. I read reviews saying the packaging was bulky but I didn't think it was a problem until I got it- yes it does take up alot of room in a makeup bag or box. I think the sleek black lid and extra plastic was supposed to make it look classy as if it was made from thick glass, but in reality it's very clumbersome. Also the label that tells you what the colour is, is absolutely tiny- the sticker is like a smaller version of stickers that come on apples and the font is tiny.

This is THE EASIEST way to do my eyeshadow in the morning. It's a shimmery taupey color - doesn't look like much in the pot but it gives a nice polished & finished look on the skin.
On the advice of other reviewers, I gave up trying to use a brush. It just doesn't work. It's a dry cream and the brush just makes for a patchy and weird application. I use a finger instead, and give it a couple of swipes so the color will show up better. I haven't had any creasing problems (but then again, I usually don't due to dry skin).
I haven't tried using it as a base for other colors, because I am generally too lazy for that multi-step stuff. But I may try that next for one my approximately eight thousand taupe shadows!

I'm a pretty big sucker for cream eye shadows. I'm always looking for a good one. The Target near me JUST started stocking ELF products, so I hauled a bit. I decided to try a couple of the cream shadows... First impression? Not impressed. I hated the packaging. I hated the little dinky brush. I hated the consistency. After a few wears...I've began to sing a different tune. I'm still not keen on the pot - it is beyond hard to work with. Buuuuuuut...I love the color of this. It is so versatile. I have been applying it alone, just as a wash over my lid. I'm pretty lazy in the morning. I get up too early!! And it has lasted on my oily eyelids ALL day. In the heat. I even wore it to the gym (no, I'm not one of those girls... normally). The price is amazing too.

This is a grey-taupe cream shadow. The packaging is a bit difficult to get a finger into, not to mention bulky. The price is great though! I bought it for 3 dollars at Target. The shadow applies pretty easily, but needs a few layers to get to my desired intensity. After around 6 or so hours, it begins to collect in the creases of my eyelids though. I will not be repurchasing.

I don't know what everyone is raving about with this product. I could barely get it out of the container and when I did it felt like I was applying a clay-like substance to my eye-lids! Complete waste of $3.

It's a very nice, light, taupe shade with a slight lavender undertone to it. It is perfect for doing neutral eye looks with. I love it!
I always put a primer on my eyelids first, before applying any type of shadow (whether it's cream or powder based) onto such. And, especially with cream eyeshadows, the eye shadow base really helps to keep them from creasing or having their color to fade at all.
If you are new to cream eyeshadows and don't where to start, I highly recommend starting with this shade. It's the most universal cream eyeshadow shade that E.L.F. makes.

Use this everyday as a base for my eyeshadow or alone. So easy to apply. I was using Candlelight, but I can see now that Dawn is much silkier in texture. Also noticed E.L.F. made the jars smaller which is great. I think it does crease a bit in the late afternoon when I check my makeup and I have to neaten it up, which is why I took one point off. This color works better for me than the whiter Candlelight color and blends easier. Occasionally, if I use it on my lower lid, you can see bright glitter here and there, so I have to be careful to blend it out with a powder shadow. But for the price, I am not complaining!

Nice bronzy color that looks really flattering on most skintones. The positive thing about is that it didn't crease on me, I don't have oily lids but e.l.f.'s duo eyeshadow creams always crease on me and this didn't, I didn't even have to use a primer. It is much less creamy than other cream eyeshadows I have used, it looks like powder the minute it touches the skin. The bad thing is that I bought it 7 or 8 months ago, used it three times since then and when I tried to use it today the texture was already much more dry, even a bit crumbly. I would rate it 3.5 lippies but because I got it on sale for 2€ I think I can't really complain, I guess cream shadows are not meant to be used for a long time anyway. The packaging is a bit bulky but I don't mind it.

a nice warm toned brown with golden shimmer. One coat looks really natural looking on the eye so I would definitely recommend putting this on a little thicker.A primer isn't necessary but it does help.

Okay, the packaging is somewhat horrible as everyone agrees that the plastic pot is too big.
This is a shadow that I would have to leave at home and not bring with me on trips.
But, this is a great eyeshadow! It gives this light purple-brown-golden taupe-ish color. I think it will be quite flattering on any skin tone and eye color.
I took one lippie off because of the packaging.......and the occasional flecks of sparkle that I sometimes find - and have to pick off my eyelid. This shadow is not the glittery or the really sparkly kind. So I think the occasional noticeable flecks were not meant to be.
Also, I would advise against using a brush since brush application tends to make the eyeshadow dry and hard to spread. The best way is to use your finger (which has warmth) and lightly push it across the eyelid.
Overall, I would buy again when mine dries up. Since I am sure it will dry up before I can finish using it as I am not an everyday makeup kinda girl.

I mainly use this shade as a base, adding some black khol on top looks great. This is my everyday office make up: easy to apply, quick and lasts all day. This product doesn't crease at all and stay on all day even with my oily eyelids and teary eyes.
I don't like to use it on its own as I don't think it is flattering on my skin tone. I would probably buy it again.
EDIT: This product dried out very quickly. Like most of the other ELF products I bought. I will probably not bother ordering at ELF again.

I love this as a shadow base it is very versatile. It works well with everyday looks but eye primer is a must. If you have oily eyelids, like I do try a primer.. doesnt crease with a primer

The elf studio cream shadows are packaged nicely, and you get a decent amt for price. This shade is a lovely shimmery sort of taupe. Good staying power.

These are awesome!! My favorite cream eyeshadow and eyeshadow base. This color looks great on everyone and is super easy to apply and blend. The price is fantastic and you can usually use coupon codes online so you can usually get them for cheaper than $3. I have the four original colors and I plan on getting the new shades too! A+

Very nice. And only $3! This color (Dawn) is what I had wanted MAC's PP in Bare Study to be. I wanted a shimmery champagne that would give a pretty, sort of glazed look to my lids, and that can be easily worn alone, or under other shadows. Bare Study just looks like white on my lids-ugh! The elf Dawn looks like I described above. I'd call it a champagney-taupe. It's light on me, but has just enough depth that it doesn't look too white. Yes, the packaging is absurdly huge. But at least it's attractive. I am NC20/25 for reference.

I love this. The colour is a great light-medium champagne taupe. It feels like it might not apply smoothly when you are applying it b/c the texture is not that creamy, but it does give an even application that is easy to blend and soften.
I usually apply powder shadow on top of this. This increased the wear of powder shadow from about 1.5 hours before creasing with no primer, to about 4.5 hours without creasing. If I wear a primer underneath this it does not crease by the end of a regular day, but has some fading.
The packaging is bulky and annoying, so this will never leave my house for travel or touch ups. But I'm okay with that.
I think this is a great product for the price and I will be purchasing other shades.
