Last Friday night from the Katy perry collection is a gorgeous polish. However, unless you like to wear really sheer glitter polishes I would recommend layering over other polishes as a glitter topcoat. Some fantastic combinations I have tried are over: suzi says feng shui, teal the cows come home, yoga-ta get this blue, suzi skis in the Pyrenees, do you lilac it and alpine snow for something different :) to achieve the bottle look pair over frostbite by china glaze! This is as close as I have gotten to the dairy of last friday night :)

When this polish first came out, I was super excited to buy it because it looked so pretty in the bottle. After I tried it, however, I realized that the polish is really sheer and it takes about 5 coats to get the polish to match what it looks like in the bottle. It also is a pain to take off, even with nail polish remover. Despite that, I still really love the blue glitter in this and it looks great over different polishes.

Thanks to the comment by AmyWmy, I tried this polish over OPI Russian Navy and it is beautiful!!! I love the way Last Friday Night looks over the purple blue Russian Navy. Thanks for the suggestion, it looks great.

This is one of my favourite glitter polishes. The glitter is pretty visible without slopping on too many coats of polish. I don't think that this is meant to be worn on it's own since the base colour is so sheer. It looks dazzling overtop of almost any purple or blue.

If you are a fan of sheer, glittery nail polishes "Last Friday Night" is definitely for you! I have no issues with clear glittery polishes so I like it. I also like that it has a little bit of light blue as the base color mixed in with plenty of glitter (This makes your nails look like they have been frozen for a few hours lol). I also like that the moment you apply it to your nails, you get plenty of glitter and it dries very quickly! However, if you arent' a fan of sheer polishes i suggest you paint your nails with a nice, bright blue color then use "Last Friday Night" as a topcoat.

(I also agree that the bottle is very misleading though)

I love this nail polish. I wear it over China Glaze's Sky-High Top every time. It's far too light to stand on its own in my opinion, but over a neonish blue like that, it's just flawless. It still takes a couple of coats but the full coverage of glitter is ah-may-zing. Being a glitter polish it's a pain to get off my nails when I'm through but it's so worth it. It definitely gets me a lot of compliments.

Yeah, this glitter is sheer even at 3-4 coats, and by all means wear it sheer if that's what you like! However, if you're lusting after the bottle color, an easy way to achieve it is to layer 1-2 coats of LFN over China Glaze Frostbite (a bright, "car-paint" blue). I've also layered LFN over OPI's OPI Ink, and the effect is like "galaxy nails." Layering LFN over a dark color means all the different glitter colors come out. Formula-wise, LFN is goopy but manageable. Removal is a pain since it is a glitter but the tin-foil method works well for me.

Dissapointing. Looks very different in real life compared to how it looks in the bottle AND how it swatches on the website (the example they give you). I also googled this shade to see other peoples swatches and was further mislead by people putting this over other blue nail polishes and saying they had another nail polish underneath. Its very over-priced for what it is!, this is a glitter top coat and because it does have a blue tinge to it this will not go with everything :/. This gets two stars for the bottle and that you can still use over another colour.

I love Katy Perry so when I heard she was coming out with a OPI collection I was quick to check them out. Back then I didn't have as much cash so I didn't purchase any of the polishes. Now that I have the money I went back and purchased the one color I was really crazy about: Last Friday Night. In the bottle its a beautiful mid-toned blue with lavender, light blue and silver shimmer. Now that I've tried it I've realized a few things. This is a topcoat color, definitely not a color on its own. Also the glitter/shimmer is way too chunky for my liking. Don't get me wrong, its a pretty topcoat, just not my style at all. I will be giving this away to a friend.

Layered this over OPI's Russian Navy and goodness it looked like the galaxy thanks to the blue flecks in it. I also layered this over blue/periwinkle colors on my nail wheel and it looked amazing. Wouldn't recommend wearing this on its own because it can be sheer. Love this more than OPI's teenage dream because when TD is layered over another color, the glitter looked like ordinary silver glitter. This has beautiful flecks in it which makes it unique. Dry time is good.

This nail polish is an absoloute joke. It looked such a pretty colour in the bottle.but you cannot built this up to a great glitter polish as it is too sheer. It cant even be used as a top coat because the glitter it to sparseley placed and its a very thick, jelly like formula. I think a lot of people were especially dissapointed in this after trying teenage dream. Dont even consider buying this one it the worst nothing polish I have ever used.

I was kind of unimpressed by this shade. The glitter isn't exciting enough for me. The jelly is pretty and shiny and the application was good, but it didn't pop. I'd go with Teenage Dream over this one.

Hahaha:) As soon as i saw the add for katy perry nail polish i pretty much bolted for the closest ulta! But sadly they were all out. im usually not one for blue polishes but i loved the song so much i could help but want it! And once i finally got my hands on it i feel in love:) beautifully sheer glitter and glossy finish. Its really a great polish and would definitely recommend to others!

This one has rekindled my love for glitters long forgotten since I was a teen. I love this blue glitter, didn't bother getting Teenage Dream because pink is not my color, but I've been wearing this one over all kinds of blues(light to dark), light grays, purples and black all summer, it's just perfect for layering. One coat over a base color is usually enough to have your nails sufficiently glittery, but maybe some would prefer more. I never tried to wear it alone, I like it much better over something else. It needs a top coat because the surface, while not too gritty is not completely smooth either. The only downside, as most glitters, it goes down too fast :( would/will repurchase ;)

Super fun colour!! I love the name and it looks gorgeous in the bottle. I have been loving glitter for the past three months so I just had to get this! As many have already mentioned, it is too sheer. This does make the polish less practical but does not by any means make it unusable. And yes, I did try to get it opaque but gave up at 4 coats. I will be using this over other polishes and experimenting with it lots. Overall, I wouldn't say it's a "must-have" nail polish but it is nice to have.

I can see why people expect this to be a blue "Teenage Dream" - it is not!

The base of it is a very very very pale blue and it is quite thick and jelly like.

I tried to see what this was like by itself - using multiple coats (enough to get it opaque) but by the time I have done 3 coats I could still see nail line and the polish seemed very thick and gloopy. I think you could wear this by itself but it may take 4 - 5 coats and a lot of drying time! Not sure I have the patience.

So the best way to use this polish would be for layering. And it is very pretty!

Over a pale cream base it gives a pale blue/lilac "glow" with glitter that seems to sparkle the following colours - baby blue, mint green, lemon. Lilac.

It reminds me of a very pale ultra violet light.

I guess there are a few possibilities for layering this. I think it would look good over lilac

It really is very pretty but If you are expecting your nails to look like the bottle then you will not have your expectations met. I have given it a 3. I dud not give high marks because £10.50 is a lot of money for a polish that you can not wear alone, and even as a layer application is not the easiest.

I dont think I will buy again but I am glad I have it

I think this has a very unfair reputation. It's a great layering nail polish - I love it over black, mid-tone greys, and blues. It looks amazing over OPI Yogata Get This Blue. I haven't actually tried getting it opaque on its own because I don't really like the bottle hue anyway. It dries fairly fast, wear time is rather good as expected of a glitter. I wish the glitter was holographic like in Teenage Dream, but it's already rather pretty the way it is now. The formula is thick, like TD, but not overly difficult to deal with.

I loved the blue and bought it for my friend for that reason. She let me use it on one of my nails just to check it out. TOOOO sheer. It's only good as a top coat, but I still love to look at the bottle, that's about it.
