I love this product. I use it all the time especially after I apply my makeup. It gives a nice white tint shade to my lips which brightens my makeup application. It also works great for all weather conditions. I have repurchased this product at least three times and love it.

Good: High SPF, no menthol.
Bad: White cast and bad smell, yes. Tastes like sunscreen, but you can get over these things.

The reason this product failed for me was because of the white cast it gives. I am a person that loves to reapply lip balm. Not only did this not moisturize my lips and still leave me with flakes of dead skin, but it also has a white cast that makes me look ill. I do not enjoy the texture either because it does not sink into your lips, and if you have flakes of dead skin, this will clump in that area when applying and stand out even more with the white cast. I understand that this has a high spf (spf30) but I do not want to walk around looking like casper the ghost. Much better lip balms out there (my current favorite is blistex deep renewal, although it does not seem to work well for everyone)

Most of my lip balms make my lips peel and dry out, but this one is absolutely AMAZING! It's a lifesaver in the winter when my lips get really chapped. I recommend this to everyone! It's the best lip balm out there!

I bought this specifically for the SPF, at shoppers drug mart, for $4-5. It was way, way, way too dry on my lips. My lips do tend to get dry though, so I would just like to stress that if you need something moisturizing, this is not good enough. It makes my lips drier than if I don't put anything on them, and what happens is the formula ends up making your lips all white and gross. It smells nice though!

This is a great chap stick/lip protection! I live in Las Vegas, so the heat & dryness is a problem for me. This product really hydrates my lips & keeps them smooth. The formula is really moisturizing & creamy; the SPF is high, too!

Someone noted that the smell is like a Black & Mild & someone else said that it smells like a vanilla tobacco product. That sounds odd, but I definitely agree that it smells like a Black. It doesn't bother me.

I definitely LOVE this chapstick. It glides on so smooth, and has great ingredients that won't irritate the lips. It has a creamy texture with a light color that makes your lips look a little lighter (nothing dramatic) and I have naturally really cherry lips so it makes them a cute pink color after I apply a few coats! I adore this stuff, and it also reminds me of the taste of black and milds.. haha. I would definitely recommend it, though. Blistex is a great brand and they're always coming up with new trendy things for your lips to make them cute and healthy!

Those who rate this lower than the other blister products are flat out WRONG. (Sorry.)

I read the labels, and this was, I think, one of the only Blistex products that didn't contain menthol or camphor or other ingredients that aggravate chapped lips! This is smooth, creamy, contains SPF 30 protection. and is very moisturizing.

Unless you want color, what else do you want?

Also, it smells and tastes like smarties candies.

This chapstick smells like vanilla scented tobacco. It moisturizes my chapped lips really well, but I cannot get past the smell; it literally makes me nauseated.

PROS: Cheap. Has nice plant extracts for antioxidants too.

CONS: Not that moisturizing and too much petroleum. It's only useable after I've brushed my teeth (lips exfoliated), otherwise it does nothing or coats my lips, making flakes worse. Also, it doesn't have full UV spectrum protection and I'm not a huge fan of the taste either. I also don't like how much aluminum is in this.

OVERALL: There is nothing "five star" about this at all. It's just the opposite... ok, but nothing special. Functions the same as plain Chapstick but with limited UV protection and plant extracts/oils/etc added.

I've used this lip balm for about 2 years now. It's a good lip balm. It's glossy, gives a nice shine, not waxy at all, very smooth & silky, & a high spf. The only complaint would be that it's not as moisturizing as I would like it to be. This is perfect for everyday use as a protector for your lips, but I would not use this if your trying to cure severely dried lips. If your lips are in mostly good condition, this chapstick is great for helping your lips stay that way. I still like this though, & I would buy this again:)

There is nothing 5 star about this..regular cheap chapstick feel. I prefer Lip Medex and Deep Renewal to this. I would never repurchase this one. I threw away the tube halfway. This made my lips dry and peel.

Freakin' love this chapstick. Especially for when I'm out in the sun. It has SPF 30! Rare to find in a chapstick! It may leave a slight white-ish look to your lips, but nothing really bad...I feel like it just looks natural and glossy when I have it on. Smells nice, tastes fine(not super yummy that makes you want to lick your lips 24/7) I love this chapstick.

LOVE this chapstick, I'm one to buy a different chapstick every week just to find something I love, and I've really stuck with this one. Very moisturizing and stays on long after applying. Will buy again!

I've been on the lookout for a great lipbalm that moisturizes, heals my chapped lips, but most importantly, one with a high SPF. I've seen a lot of lipbalms with very minimal amounts of SPF such as spf 4, 15, even 25. Blistex, however, has an spf of 30, which is amazing, but most astounding of all, its only a dollar or 2! I've seen lipbalms go up to $22, and that's just ridiculous. I'm glad I can always count on Blistex to be everything I need in a lipbalm without breaking the bank!

I'm a little obsessed with sun protection. This product delivers a terrifc SPF 30 in a stick-type lip balm. The texture is a little slick for my taste (I prefer a waxier feel), but I think most people would like that it is a little glossy. No smell, tint, or flavor, which is my preference -- good job, Blistex, on that! When I go crazy on the application it sometimes gets a tad whitish, but this doesn't happen with a normal application. The price can't really be beaten. Overall, I think it's a great product. I love the high SPF for lips in a super-affordable drugstore brand. I just wish it were less slick and shiny -- I am sure I'm in the minority on that, though. :)

This is similar to the blue tube that has an orange smell/flavor to it. This one doesn't feel as "wet" though. The other one felt as if I had licked my lips. While this isn't as bad, I just don't feel it's as moisturizing as the teal tube is. Over all it's okay but I won't be buying this again.

I can't believe that I love this. I've tried lip balms from Burt's Bees (3 kinds), Softlips, Chapstick, Dasani, Nivea (3 kinds), Carmex and Blistex (4 kinds). I think that the only ones of these that work are Carmex, the Nivea ones, some of the Burt's Bees ones and this one. I say "this one" because I despise ALL of the other Blistex ones I have tried. I've always found that none of them did anything for my lips. This one doesn't leave a disgusting waxy residue like another Blistex lip balm did.

Why it's good:
- creamy consistency
- glides on the lips very smooth
- nice smell, nice taste
- not waxy whatsoever (as much as I like the Burt's Bees lip balms, their consistency annoy me very much)
- absorbs fast
- moisturizes lips *for real*

How I used it:
To heal my severely cracked and dry lips, I used Carmex to heal the cracks, I used a homemade lip scrub to get rid of the dead skin and I applied this lip balm to moisturize my lips. I did this repeatedly throughout the day and my lips are now in good condition. I don't think this lip balm heals cracked lips (nothing but Carmex does it for me, not even Vaseline), but it's great for all the rest. Since you can't use Carmex too many times a day (it's medicated and dries lips out if you use it too often), it's important for me to have an everyday lip balm. This Five Star lip balm is exactly what I'm looking for in a lip balm. I have a backup of it. I will update in case I don't like it anymore.
