This is my most amazing favourite mascara!! I've never used a mascara like it! It gives amazing volume & defines my lashes so well - doesn't leave clumps & the comb brush makes sure there are no clumps. I will never buy another mascara as no one else's mascara gives me the volume and length in one product!

I first used this mascara when I received it in the Try It kit. I absolutely loved it!! I found that adding it as a final layer over whatever mascara I had put on first created an AMAZING lash! It is very black and fluid, but not fluid in a bad way. So, I finished the sample size and proceeded to buy the full size. I dislike the formula in my full size tube (purchased at Sephora, just FYI). Even when added as a last coat it does some weird thing with the ends of my lashes where it kind of makes them bend, so it looks like I have little hooks for lashes. Every now and then I'm like, oh let me pull it out and try it again. Same result. It really is a bummer since I loved the sample size so much. Not sure if I got a defective tube or what but I'm not about to shell out the $$$ to find out. Movin' on.

This is my first mascara and I haven't had any problems with it as yet though I hate the smell more than anything! I apply it very lightly and I also like the fact that it has a comb. This allows you to wear it in a number of different ways. Its alright I guess but I think I'm going to try another brand next time

I was excited to try out a Smashbox mascara but nothing will ever top my HG Maybelline Falsies Mascara! This does thicken and lengthen nicely and is extremely pigmented which I like. The brush is like a tiny comb rather than bristled which was a bit difficult to use as the teeth are sooo short. It doesn't clump which is great but I find that it doesn't separate lashes that well or hold curl. On the average side for me, don't hate it or love it.

This is one of my absolute favorite mascaras. It does an incredible job lengthening and has never clumped or flaked on me. Once I'm done applying, my eyelashes look naturally long and gorgeous. This natural, but still strikingly pretty in an understated way, look is exactly what I look for in mascaras. I will always be buying this mascara!

I was going to give Smashbox Hyperlash Mascara 4 lippies and then I thought "Why?" Well, the reason why is because I ALWAYS wear waterproof mascara (HG being Lancome Definicils waterproof which is utterly bulletproof) and I was judging a non-waterproof mascara using waterproof standards. Having realized that, I raised it to 5 lippies.
AMAZING staying power! Does not run, flake or smudge once it has dried. I wore this while going to a really sad event (cried like a baby) and NO racoon eyes. Then was out walking in the rain...no running or racoon eyes. Went to the gym and worked out, STILL no running, smudging or racoon eyes or flaking. Came home and purposely did NOT take it off before bed. Put Algenist (glycerin and shea butter based night cream) on my face and went to sleep...did have racoon eyes in the morning. So, it took sleeping with a heavy night cream that is practically a make-up remover to even BUDGE this mascara! Which is why I almost took one lippie off before I reminded myself that it is NOT a waterproof mascara. Because Lancome definicils would STILL not have smudged.
Definition: I LOVE the applicator wand. It's more of a comb but still manages to both lengthen and add volume to my lashes. Please note that I was using the Hyperlash Mascara from the Try It Kit as someone mentioned that the full size that they got did NOT have the same wand. However; please also note that, if you are buying from eBay, they have fakes out there that will NOT have the same wand either.
As a side note; I noticed a review where someone stated that this was their "HG" when they had gotten the GWP size but then edited to complaint that the full size tube was "flaking" and all over the place and no longer HG. It's possible, if this person bought from eBay, that they received a fake. It is always better to buy from Sephora or Ulta or another reputable dealer.
Overall, I highly recommend this mascara as a really good non-waterproof mascara with excellent staying power and wonderful lengthening and volumizing abilities. I just wish that it was available in brown.

This looks nice when I first put it on. If I over-apply I get some clumping but it continues to lengthen, so I comb them out with a lash comb and that fixes the problem. The biggest issue I have is that I do get some smudging after a while. I wouldn't really call it smudging though, it's more like the mascara flakes and tiny specks end up under my eyes. I'm pretty harsh on high end mascaras because there's so many great drugstore options that I expect high end ones to be exceptional, and this just doesn't cut it for me.

I love this mascara!
My lashes are extremely straight, but fairly long, and this mascara holds a curl well!
The brush is absolutely amazing. It separates and defines your lashes. Loved it so much that I washed it off and kept it after the mascara itself got too old to use.

This mascara not only clumps, weighs down on my short straight Asian lashes, but also smudges on my under eye areas after several hours of wearing, whereas my old Shu Uemura basic mascara never ever gave me such problems. Additionally it's extremely hard to take off with my Neutrogena eye makeup remover. I would have thrown this away had I not paid big bucks for it, ugh.

I don't understand why Hyperlash by Smashbox only got a 3.3 rating, I personally really like this mascara, A few people thought I was wearing false eyelashes when I first starting wearing it. My only gripe is it's a little tough to get off even with makeup remover, but it's worth it.

I received this as a sample but I'm not a fan. While it did give me long lashes, it also gave me the raccoon eyes at the end of the day.

This is HG mascara for me.I got the sample size with the smashbox try it kit and I loved it. I love the wand especially. I don't apply my mascara the typical way from bottom -up. I apply it inside and curl it out---if that makes sense. So it makes my lashes fuller and longer with one coat.
However, recently I started applying mary kay lash love as my base coat (it's waterproof) and then I use this mascara on top after my base coat dries and the result is WOW!!!.I have people asking me if i fixed my lashes. It gives it volume and length--almost unbelievable. I love love love it.
I never bought the full size cos the wand didn't look like that of the sample size from the pictures i saw so i just ordered the try it kit again when i ran out of supply..
One more thing. I set my makeup with my Model in a Bottle spray and my lashes stay that way all day long.

I bought this because I had heard it was a great mascara. The first time I used it it barely looked like I had any mascara on. It also started to flake off badly about 4 hours later. I typically use covergirl mascara and based on coverage and price I will be going back to use it.

Alright, I was really excited to try this mascara because of the reviews and research I did. I bought it and was rather impressed.
First I must state, I used to have short lashes that broke and shed easily. I learned two things. One, Eye shadows with bismuth oxychloride make my eyes itch and if put up next to my lashes, make my lashes fall out. Two, I am allergic to something in whatever makes eye liner and mascara "waterproof". It makes my eyes burn, Itch, and my Lashes fall out with in minutes. Once I realized this and I stopped using both of these things my Eye lashes grew tremendously. I didn't even realize it until I put on mascara again when I hadn't worn any in months. It was like ::BAM:: EYELASHES.
That being said, I really like this mascara. I like the blackness of it. I didn't have issues with clumping or with flaking. It went on smoothly and dark. I personally like the wand it comes with. I found it works perfectly with my lashes I was in love with it.
However, one day after wearing this out to many places for many occasions, I was at a small venue for five hours in the evening. No Air conditioning, and even though there were fans and it was evening, it was still the middle of July in North Carolina humidity. I am used to the heat these days so I was only moist on the face but not dripping with sweat. I had only been there for three hours at this point and when I went in to the ladies room my mascara from my bottom lashes was underneath my eyes like I had been wearing a cheap eyeliner in my water line and bled(I wasn't wearing any eyeliner at all). it had run all underneath my eyes giving me dark circle and there was flaking all over my check bones.
I was a little surprised because I had worn this many times and not had this problem at all. Then again I was in a small hot humid venue with little air flow, so I don't know anyone who's makeup would hold up through that if it isn't waterproof.
All in all, I give this a four. I like it a lot and it works well, though I think I may have to look else where for extremely humid nights, or go without mascara. Waterproof just isn't an option for me.

I got this mascara in the Smashbox Brown Eyes set. Otherwise, I never would've gotten it- far too expensive. Anyhow, this mascara has some merits, despite the other negative reviews I've seen. This mascara defines like a dream; doesn't clump at all, and separates every lash out. The plastic brush is fantastic as it equally coats every lash, even the tiny ones. Hyperlash is also quite good for length.
As for cons, Hyperlash doesn't have very good staying power. My lashes will look gorgeous when I'm heading out the door for school, but end up droopy and sad once I get home. Also, this mascara does little to volumize. In fact, it makes thin lashes look impossibly thinner.
Overall, this mascara isn't as terrible as everyone here is saying, but certainly not worth the ridiculous price.

I LOVE this mascara! I seriously can not believe it has such a low rating with some reviewers. My lashes aren't particularly noticeable so a good mascara is a must. This product really lengthened and separated my lashes so well, they looked like falsies. This is only the first time I've used it, but it is a favorite.

I picked this up at Ulta...and it went right back to Ulta. This was a disaster for me. After an hour, I looked like someone punched me in the face. I have short, straight Asian eyelashes that hit the under-eye area when I blink, so I normally stick with waterproof mascaras. I only tried this because it was on sale. When I returned it, the sales associate said they get tons of returns on this mascara and the Smashbox Bionic Mascara. I can see why. My cheap Cover Girl Lashblash Waterproof is way better than this stuff.

This product is incredibly underwhelming. It's not completely useless, hence the two lippies, but for something over 20 bones it certainly isn't special. It holds a curl well enough, lengthens okay, but doesn't do much for volume. For my sparse lashes it was definitely lacking, but this might suit the lucky gals who already have full lashes. I would still use this if I had absolutely nothing else on hand, but if it were to go missing I probably wouldn't give a crap. I find CG lash blast fusion to perform much better than this and I don't even like that one too much.
Edit: this can't hold a curl at all. I was using this mascara paired with other ones cus I didn't want it to go to waste, but it turns out hyperlash really is useless on its own. Downgraded to one lippie!

This product probably doesn't need one more negative review, but regardless here it goes. Two merits: The packaging (sleek, unique, and I just like the look and feel of it) and two (the formula is very fluid-maybe too fluid but can be nice because I hate the glooby/flaky/dry formula of many mascaras). With that being said, this mascara's performance is terrible. It's jet black which is nice, but it transfers onto the lashes so heavily- even with the lightest of applications it looks spidery, clumpy, and neither provides great volume or length.
Because the formula is so fluid, it instantly and easily transfers onto the eye area and is a pain in the -you know what- to get off when that happens. Oh and trust me it wears horribly as well. By the end of the day you have mascara marks that reach your cheeks. Which would be great if you were planning on becoming a night-crawling raccoon bandit but let's face it who really wants that?
