We all know that Space Cadet is an amazing multichrome. But what I also love is the formula...it's a dream to apply. So smooth and effortless! Not much chipping or shrinkage for me, either (I used SH Xtreme Wear Invisible for a base coat and Revlon Quick Dry top coat at the time). The only downside is it needs at least 3 coats to get the full effect. This should be a staple in everyone's NP collection!

Out of all of the polishes i own, this one is my favorite hands down. I purchased the last one at my ulta (are they still making it?) And i wont hesitate to pick up a back up if i see it!! So unique, it looks just like cosmic photographs!

Fantastic color. I could not stop looking at my nails! The colors ranged from gold, purple, green and more depending on the lighting and angles. '

I used OPI Ridge Filler base and three coats with Sally Hansen Strengthening Top Coat. It does take a long time to dry and I do wait at least a minute between coats. After 5 days there was some tip wear and a tiny bit of shrinkage. A little tough to remove, but that is to be expected with darker colors. I love this color so much, I got a back up bottle.

I love this polish, it is a very unique color that can suit almost any mood because it changes in every light. The base is a sheer turquoise, with lots of micro glitters flashing purple, rose, gold, and green depending on the light and the angle. I had to use 3-4 coats for a totally opaque mani but it seems to dry fairly quick so this was not too much of an issue. Overall even though i wish the price were less than the $10 I paid I would purchase again.

*Update* Less than 3 hours after painting, I used base coat 3 coats of polish and top coat, there is significant tip wear in this polish. I am not going to adjust my rating yet, I will first try a different top coat.

This is one of my favorite polishes, as every time I wear it someone is fascinated by it! I'm fairly pale, yet this doesn't seem to really wash me out or warm up my skin tone. I normally go 2-3 coats and it's totally opaque. Longevity is pretty good also. I'm getting 3 more bottles of this stuff for Christmas for my friends as they've always loved it too!

I dont think ive ever gone through a whole full size bottle of polish but im already prepared to buy backups for this beauty! Came across this browsing out in blogland and it has fueled an intense love of the hard to find multichromes. This sets the bar unbeatably high i havent found anything that can live up to the strength of this shift.

SH Lustre Shine Lava might be nearly as strong but space cadet holds a place in my heart. Over base coat i can get away with two coats and have minimal VNL but 3 or using 1 - 2 coats over black makes it totally opaque. You can see the shift indoor, natural light, artificial light, but its true brilliance is in the sun.

The formula isnt the easiest to work with but the second coat smoothes out any streaks. With basic base and top coat i got 4 days and im bruta to my nails when it comes to water damage, a week maybe more using bonder sandhich method. As always im a huge fan of orly's rubberized top.

Damn, I love this shade. It is so unique and beautiful. It applies really nicely too. Not streaky or too clumpy. Nothing bad to say. Great shade name too!

Space Cadet is an amazing shade from Orly. In low indoor light it seems almost a drab olive with a slight rose shimmer, under florescent lighting the gold and deep rose comes out... and outdoors it's an absolute GALAXY of color shimmer, flashing from green to gold to rose to deep purple and even sometimes a hint of blue. I'm so glad they've added this to their general collection, even though some shops don't carry it, such as Sally's Beauty Supply. If you're seeking this polish, check out Ulta - that's where I found mine!

I will forever love this polish! It remains one of my favorites time after time. I don't know how to describe the color (good thing there is a picture, lol!) It's a lovely, grungy color. I love everything about, down to the name.

I LOVE the color.

But I'm having trouble with the application. I think it's difficult to make it look nice. There are two things that I really can't stand when it comes to nail polish: tip wear/shrinkage and having to thick a layer of polish on my nails. With Poshé, Space Cadet gets the worst shrinkage I've had. And since it needs three-four coats it's kind of irritating not being able to use a quick drying topcoat. I have worn Space Cadet several times during the past year, but every time I end up taking it off within a few days because of either the extreme tip pull or, if I didn't use top coat, marks in the polish.

This might have something to do with the fact that I'm halfway through the bottle (Yes, I love the color that much!). I'm not sure I had these problems in the beginning. Maybe it needs some thinner.

Lovely color, but this is the worst nail polish in terms of chipping I have ever used. Two coats of Essie top coat, tip wear after like 3 hours of doing nothing.

Love this polish! Everyone's done a great job of describing it. I get lots of compliments when I wear this. It takes three coats to get opaque finish and it lasts about three days before I see some tip wear but I type all day at work so that's pretty good in my opinion. I had two coworkers who saw it and immediately went out to buy it.

Very unique, multidimensional color that has so many different shades of pigments in it. In the light, it flashes shades of gold, mauve, purple green. The formula is sheer and you will need 3 coats of optimal opacity. To achieve the bottle color, it is best to layer two coats of this over one coat of black. Application is easy since the formula is smooth. I've gotten quite a few compliments on this one.

This is almost impossible to describe accurately but it is a stunning multi-dimensional metal color. It's holographic and made up of masses of super-fine metal glitter particles so it feels pretty smooth on the nail (not bumpy like glitter polishes but not completely smooth like creme colors for instance). It's well named because it appears very sci-fi. Looking at it, I mostly see a well blended combination of these metallic colors (listed in order from most obvious to most subtle colors): burgundy, purple, pink, bronze, green, yellow, etc. While this is a spectacular color and it has the wonderful rubber easy-grip lid and great shaped brush that Orly do so well it isn't very easy to get the right application. The base of this shade is an extremely sheer grey/charcoal and without 3 coats the sheer charcoal looks very streaky, especially near the nail tips. It made my nails look like they had tip wear even though they didn't. I'd recommend putting a layer of black or grey creme nail polish underneath this to try and overcome the streakiness of the sheer grey. Because of the coverage issue I won't be buying this again but the color IS amazing, unique, exciting and edgy so I'll finish the bottle.

First time Orly user and not impressed. I was excited to find this yesterday at Ulta...loved the swatches online. Thin, streaky formula - needed 3 coats. Used CND Stickey base coat and Seche Vite top coat and had tip wear by noon today at my desk job - les than 12 hours later. Very disappointing. Needless to say it was destroyed after making cookies and cleaning up.I was surprised at how difficult it was to remove depsite how easily it wears at the nail tip - even using acetone. Back it goes. I prefer OPI's It's Not Like The Movies - still wears off at nail tip sooner than some but much less noticeable and much easier to remove.

This sat in my polish bin for a while before I actually used it, in fact I kept looking at it and wondering why I bought it because honestly I think it's pretty fugly in the bottle. I must've seen a swatch online and ordered it otherwise I can't imagine why I bought it.

Then I wore it. And then I couldn't stop staring at my nails! Gorgeous!! It's a multichromed foil and basically a dupe of Hard Candy Beetle. (Or is that the other way around?) But the shell of a beetle is the best way to describe the color. Rosy burgundy, flash of gold and metallic green, I get a little teal in there, too. I gave it a rating of 4 because it's a bit thin, I had to apply 3 coats to get satisfactory coverage.

Space Cadet is an interesting and unusual ultra holographic lacquer from Orly's Cosmic FX collection.

It appears burgundy in some light and angles and green in other lights and angles. It is definitely a difficult one to describe.

The brush is narrow but since the lacquer is so thin it provides a very sheer streak free first coat. It takes me about four coats to get an opaque coverage, but it is really beautiful.

If you are looking for something unique, this is it. Despite all the dupes floating around, this color is very easy to apply and dries quickly so you can apply four coats in a few minutes.

I don't find this lacquer to be difficult to remove.

Beautiful! It lasted long, I just got tired of the colour of my nails so I erased it. Hard to remove. The colour is absolutely lovely! I love anything to do with space so this was right up in my alley and my cup of tea.

This polish is amazing on, BUT I found it chipped really easily on me, even with SV on top. I didn't use a basecoat, so perhaps that was the problem. That said, it looks so fabulous on, I would definintely repurchase! Could not stop looking at my nails.

I was so sad that I missed out on this collection when it came out. Luckily I was able to find this collection a couple of months later. I was extremely excited from seeing swatches online & I was so amazed when I saw the bottles. The colors inside each bottle looked so magical! Space Cadet was the one that stood out to me the most. I saw a whole bunch of colors from purples to copper, & to a swampy green. I was so eager to try it out, but sadly when I painted all my nails, it was not what I expected. Don't get me wrong, it's an absolutely lovely duochrome color & very pretty to look at, but I felt that it did not work well with my skin tone. Also, I'm still not used to my nails being so metallic-y. Hehe, I would recommend Space Cadet for everyone to have in their collection or to at least try it out. I would not buy this again, but I'm happy owning it.
