This did nothing for my curls. It weighed them down and made them look wiry and gross.

Had high hopes for this mousse. Thought it was rubbish!! Didn't like the smell. It fizzed as soon as touched my hair and didn't stay creamy. After styling I looked like I was ready to haunt a house!! My ironing board has more body!!!

So for starters, my hair has choppy layers (shortest at around about 12cm) and goes down to waist length. My hair is very thin at my longest layers and is straight (not pin straight). The condition of my hair isn't the best.
When I originally bought this product, I was really looking for that beachy waves look.I opened it and it smelled AMAZING (like everyone else is saying on here). Not too overwhelming for me because I just love it so much. I give about 2 short pumps and put majority on my crown area and some on my bottom layers. When I began to blow dry and scrunch, my hair was quite stubborn. It would tousle a little bit but not a lot. So I was quite disappointed in that aspect. BUT for volume, it gave my hair amazing volume. Now maybe that's because of my choppy layers, but nonetheless I loved the fluffy volume it gave me.
It gives me some shine, not a lot. And the feel of the hair overall isn't that smooth, but 'fluffy'.
I don't use this product for the tousling effect anymore, but more for the volume!

Sadly, I will not repurchase. I got this at my local drugstore for $1.50 so super cheap. Like the bottle, standard mousse bottle.
The product can leave my hair crunchy and makes it hard to get second day hair if I use this the first day. HOWEVER, if I don't use this on the first day, I can scrunch this in and add hair spray to get second day hair.
It was a good price but sadly the product is just ok- nothing great. Still in search of HG curly wear for my hair.

Tousle me CRUNCHY, darlings! Hello, nightmare! - please do not buy this product. It's got a god-awful smell of toilet cleanser and my grandma's perfume, which you know, I COULD overlook if it didn't stick my hair together like superglue! I put it into my semi wet curls, and once it dried, it couldn't be pried apart - had to rewash and was NOT impressed. What's more, the packaging clearly eloped with whatever I was thinking when I bought this product - it broke on the third usage, and started issuing this squelchy sound, and lo and behold! Thou shakest and the liquid comes flying straight at your face.
It's cheap at three dollars, but it's three dollars well worth spent doing something else. Go buy a gelato, invest for one tenth of the shoe you've had your eye on. Just please don't buy this mousse.

***EDIT***
I am still using this product. It has a different coloring, which by the way isn't a lovely purple like it used to be. I've gotten the wrong product several times because of the color change. I make sure to look for the word VIOLET on the back of the can. This is still the most wonderful and lovely smelling product that works for me! My hair is isn't kinky curly but it's curly, and the compliments I get week to week keep me using this product!
I've used this for quite awhile and have been amazed at how perfect my hair is each and every day no matter the weather. It leaves my hair shiny, I get asked all the time what hair products I use. The smell is amazing. Violet is my favorite scent! It's the scent of magical places, fairy tales, and princesses! Sadly enough, they have changed this. The packaging isn't as lovely of a deep purple, the scent is changed into nothingness, and the product doesn't seem to work quite as magical. It's just an average nice product now. It used to be when you found a good product, you bought it for the next thirty years! They change things too often now, and for no reason! It's sad to think some advertising company got paid for this! This product and Flex shampoo/conditioner were the ONLY two types of hair products that really left your hair scented to perfection.

The packaging is nice and it seems very promising at first, but when I put the product through my hair nothing happened. I wanted scrunchy waves, but this doesn't do anything for me. Maybe it works better if you have curly/wavy hair already, since my hair is naturally straight.

I really liked this product. I didn't blow dry my hair like it says in the instructions mainly because I knew it would just go frizzy. I just let it air dry overnight & in the morning my hair felt so soft and my curls/waves were defined really nicely. This product actually did a pretty good job taming the frizzys as well. I only had a few flyaways which is a big improvement for me. This product was great!

This mousse is near HG status for my blonde wavy, kinda thick hair. Defines my curls but does not weigh them down, good frizz control, and leaves hair silky and untangled, a big pet peeve for me. This is the mousse I reach for the most.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I hate using hair products, but this is amazing! It smells absolutely delicious (a light perfume-y floral that lingers a little while) and it makes my hair super soft. For reference, I have frizzy, fairly thick hair (I can't cut it short- it turns into a cloud) and it's waist-length. It's normally wavy, but the weight of my long hair pullled most of the curl out. This mousse really helps make my hair soft, silky and shiny. I normally apply a small amount through wet hair, scrunch it, and let it air dry. I get really pretty curls/waves that way. :)

To start, I have naturally very curly hair that is slightly frizzy. I really like this product because it smells amazing, its dirt cheap, it prevents frizz, and makes my curls just look nicer. I have tried more expensive mousses, but I always come back to this. The only problem is that ocasionally it can make my hair kind of hard, but other than that, I love it!

Amazing mousse at a great price! It smells like heaven too :)
Don't need to use very much and it provides nice lift and body to my wavy hair. I don't recommend using it on dry hair or in large amounts as it can make your hair feel crispy. But if you use it sparingly and only on wet hair, it works like a dream --and the pretty smell lingers on or blends with other hair care products.
The only con if there is one, would be that it doesn't come in a bottle that concentrates it at the root area. Big Sexy has a nice bottle for their root boosting mousse but the mousse itself is way too drying and makes my hair crunchy and dry...
Very highly recommend this herbal essences product over anything else out there :)

I decided to try Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Mousse because I've had some success with their Break's Over Conditioner. However, I would not recommend this product for people with my hair type. I have very thick, curly, coarse 3a-3b hair prone to dryness, knots, split-ends and frizz.
I used this product on wet hair in conjunction with my usual cheap gel (I like to use a little gel (which has really good hold but goes stiff) combined with a larger amount of a more flexible hold product like mousse, balm or serum) and either let my hair air dry or used a blowdryer.
The Bad: My hair became like straw whenever I used this mousse - it felt dry, it was extremely knotty and lacked shine.
The Good: The hold factor is good (helped control flyaways and frizz), it doesn't feel especially sticky, and there was no flaky product build up.

I decided to try this out after seeing the commercials on TV..i know that's a bad idea but whatever. I bought it for only about 3$ i think at london drugs and my hair's naturally a little wavy but it's also frizzy so i usually straighten it. After trying this mousse i was pretty dissapointed because i followed the instructions and didnt notice the slightest bit of a difference in my hair's waves. also it made my hair feel a little more crunchy than usual. thankfully it wasnt expensive and i wont be re-purchasing this any time soon.

This mousse makes me feel like I need to shampoo more often if I use it, so I probably won't be buying it again. However, it does smell good, stop my hair from frizzing, and brings out the slight waves in my hair. It's also dirt cheap (it's easy to find it on sale for around two bucks) so there's no harm in trying it!

I finally have a chance to review this product after being on my second bottle. For reference (just in case other ladies have the same hair I do), I have alot of natural waves in my fine Asian hair that frizzes at the first sign of humidity and my baby hairs around ,my face does curl into an S shape when wet. This is the only product so far that smells good AND does the job of enhancing my natural waves without being overly stiff and tacky. I am not sure I would recommend this for girls who have extremely curly hair because I would think that this does not offer enough hold and definition. I have tried using curling mousses before but they are too heavy for my fine textured hair. I highly recommend this to girls who have lazy to full fledged waves and want to be able to air dry their hair without worrying about the "pouf". This product actually makes my life easier.

I like the smell of this mousse. I just wished it would have worked for my type of hair, thick, wavy and coarse. It didn't define my waves or anything. My hair was a tad softer but that was it. My daughter has the same type of hair that I do and she didn't have any luck either. My 11 yr old granddaughter has medium straight hair and it made her hair just a very tad wavy on the ends. If this had worked for me I would have bought it again, but sadly this wasn't the case.
