About my skin: Combination with a very oil t-zone, and some enlarged pores/blackheads on and around the nose. Very dark undereye circles, and a few dark spots on the face from sun damage. Light-complected with neutral undertones (think NARS Deauville). In MAC, I usually wear NC20, though sometimes have to wear NW20 depending on the formulation.
I normally don't wear anything with shimmer, as I find that it accentuates my pores, but this Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint has been calling my name for months. I kept ignoring it because I wasn't sure what color to get (whether Opal or Pearl), and I didn't want to be disappoointed. However, I decided to take the plunge, and picked up Pearl.
The first time I used it, I think I used too much, because it looked overly shimmery. There is definitely quite a bit of shimmer and sparkle in this product, so if you use more than a dime-size on your face, you will look like a disco ball. I toned it down the next time I used it, and got better results, though in some lighting, you do see a lot of sparkle.
The coverage is light (it IS tinted moisturizer after all). I find this wears well with my Urban Decay 24/7 concealer pencil. There is not a ton of moisture to it... if you have dry skin, you will still need to wear lotion underneath.
I did, unfortunately, get super oily in the T-zone, which is why I took off a lippie. I know it doesn't purport to control oil, but I feel like it made me oilier than if I had used nothing at all.
I like the SPF20 factor, although I imagine to get the protection level, you would really need to apply a lot of this product, and the shimmer would just be overkill. Also, just to note, this is NOT paraben-free, so if you are picky about parabens, just bear that in mind.
Overall, quite a nice product, and I will probably try it mixed in with some other foundations just to add more luminosity, rather than use it all over the face. ( read in an ELLE magazine a few months back that this, mixed with Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk, gives the most beautiful, glowy complexion.
Comes in a sanitary squeeze tube, and is also available in a pack of 4 travel sizes.

I tend to avoid shimmering base products for fear that it will emphasize the occasional blemishes or breakouts that I have. I have fairly light/pale skin thus imperfections are quite prominent on my skin. I have tested Stila's and Laura Mercier's illuminating TMs in the past and was not impressed mainly because of the formula. Both Stila and LM broke out my sensitive skin.
I chanced upon the Jouer luminizing moisture tint when browsing through samples sent to me with my Cult Beauty order. I immediately tore a packet of the sample, tested it for a day and was practically sold. I sent an email to their customer service department enquiring about this product and received a lovely reply from co-founder Alexia Inge. This TM claims to be oil free, water resistant and hypoallergenic. For someone constantly on the go with very little time for makeup this sounded like the perfect product for me. I am one who dislikes heavy coverage bases as I have fairly decent skin to begin with.
I ordered the shade "Opal" which is spot on for my NC20 skin. I can also get away with "Pearl"(a shade darker) as the coverage is quite sheer but Pearl carries a slightly more golden undertone which I expect would be great with a tan. Although this is marketed as a luminizing tint, there is no noticeable shimmer or glitter once applied on the skin. It just makes your skin look healthy and glowy which is always a good thing. This has not irritated my sensitive skin so far and washes off easily with your regular cleanser. I slap it on in the morning before work and at the end of the day my skin still looks decent bearing it mind I do set it with a light dusting of loose powder. I have tried applying it sans powder and it leaves a non greasy semi matte finish which is just as lovely for the weekend or lazy days.
In conclusion this is a fantastic base product for sensitive clog prone skins looking for a light sheer coverage base. This product is 50ml and is around 29pounds on Cult Beauty's website.

OH MY MY … this is a beautiful luminizer! I received two shades of the Luminizing Moisture Tint as samples when I ordered a blush and lip gloss from the Jouer web site. After I used the samples, I immediately ordered the full size. I’ve never been able to wear products like this as they tend to be too shiny and glowy, sink into my pores, etc., but this beneath a light dusting of my mineral powder foundation looks truly amazing. After my morning skincare routine, I dot a few small drops of this product all over my face, under my eyes and on my eyelids then blend softly with a foundation brush. Then I apply the rest of my makeup (mineral powder foundation, finishing powder, blush, eye makeup….) and the results are the most healthy glow and beautiful skin I’ve seen in the mirror in quite a while. Be sure to start with just a few touches at first then build from there, depending on the look you’re going for. As the day goes on my face just looks even better, something I’ve also noticed with my other Jouer products. The shades I’ve used (and love) are Opal and Pearl … I’m very fair and both work great on me. I think I’ve fallen in love with Jouer and with this product in particular.

I love this - and I am stunned. I am not a tinted moisturizer or foundation person. I usually use concealer on any spots and then pressed powder over the t-zone, and that's it. I do like a little more sometimes - a little more coverage, a little more polish. I got a sample of this in this month's Sample Society box, and I ordered a full size tube after 3 uses. The coverage is great without looking at all heavy and without the product sliding around and gathering in little lines, by the corners of the mouth, etc. This had very little oxidation in the course of an 11 hour day - in spite of wearing it in 95 degree plus weather. It also didn't move, but still looked good at the end of those long days, and never felt like so many foundations do - you know, like it's sucking your skin dry of any moisture. And, any extra SPF is nothing but a bonus,IMO.
Yes, it is expensive, and I took one lippie off for that, because it just seems like beauty products just keep on creeping up in price - just slowly enough to let us get used to paying more, before they go up yet again. However, I do believe in that old chestnut " You get what you pay for". For a product that does as much as this one does - I'll choke on it, but I'll pay it. (Damn it!)

I really like this. I am NW15-20 and the shade Opal is fair enough for me, but a little more yellow than I prefer.
The coverage is sheer, so don't expect it to cover anything but minor imperfections/redness. I have quite a few superficial acne scars (just red marks, no bumps) all over my t-zone and while this doesn't make them disappear, it definitely makes them less noticable.
I have dry skin and this feels great all day. Didnt break me out or irritate my skin at all. I love the SPF and did not experience the white cast other reviewers mentioned.
All in all, a really great multitasker to bring on a holiday with carryon luggage, but not something you can rely on for perfect coverage. Price is a little high for what it does, so no repurchase.
UPDATE: It sort of magically dissappears after half a day (4-6 hours). Not impressed.

I have the shade golden and its perfect for my NC25 skin, its like a glow from within. it evens and covers slightly, but gives a really gorgeous dewy finish and kinda makes it look like you've been at the beach all day and have been sunkissed. It is slightly shimmering, but i then put my normal foundation down my t-zone and i'm left wth the perfect amount of glow on my cheeks and forehead etc. i would purchase again, and reccomend people to try! you can buy samples of it.

I don't normally wear a foundation or tinted moisturizer, at all. usually i wake up wash my face moisturize put on sunscreen and that's about it. but this morning i found myself looking deathly pale in my face and since i had just purchased this item i figured i should try it out.
the texture isn't exceedingly liquidy but not really a creme. the best way to put it is that if you like the dotting method when it comes to foundation and you want this, you can expect it to drip but not fast. i like it. it feels really nice on my skin.
the coverage as expected of a tinted moisturizer is not medium or full but sheer but at the same time it gave color to my pale face, blended in flawlessly, and evened out my complexion.
the only thing that i have to say that put me off about it the finish it gives...it made me look like edward cullen in the sunlight. literally. after i finished school i got on my bus and it was very sunny today. i decided to check my face and to my surprise, my face had sparkles. i know it was the tm because i didn't put anything else on my face and the hand that i used to apply it had sparkles too! i only saw them in sunlight. in school lighting i looked sparkle free (florescent lighting) i wasn't really going for the vampire look today but maybe when the summer comes around i'll be turned on to the idea of a glittery tan goddess haha
when it comes down to it, i think this is a nice tm. it has a lot of ingredients to help nourish skin so i don't think it will break me out but only time will tell.
check it out!

I got this as a sample in my birchbox and instantly fell in love with it! If I'm in a hurry I can use this with a little blush and mascara and I'm good to go out the door. Even without blush it looks great, the tint has just enough shine to give a pretty flush without leaving you looking like a disco ball.

You know that scene in Goldfinger where the girl gets covered in gold paint? I feel like this is what I look like when I wear this Jouer moisturizer. This is a total disaster for me. It accentuates every pore and wrinkle, which is the very opposite of what I want a tinted moisturizer to do. I used the golden colour, and it's a good match in terms of colour. But it is SO shimmery and accentuates everything on my face that I DON'T want accentuated.
On the plus side, it has a nice, non-greasy texture. I can see wearing this on a summer date night, or on a tropical holiday, but I feel like I look ridiculous wearing this to work in December. A definite no for me.

This is my new go-to product in the summertime. It gives a nice, subtle glow and evens out my skin just enough, while allowing my tan to show through. The coverage is light and sheer. It goes on smoothly and lasts well. Works well under powder or without powder.

A good product, it wakes my skin up a little and I look like I actually spend time outside. It's more of a subtle look than major coverage - I still feel natural wearing it. Pretty easy to apply, and I feel comfortable leaving the house with just this and a little under-eye concealer, mascara and blush.
The rep at Bendel's did a great job applying, which I haven't been able to replicate. One thing, he did say a powder blush would be fine with it, but it hasn't worked out for me. It definitely is shimmery, but not over-the-top; I still wear it to work daily.
Packaging is simple and nice.

I'm on the fence about this product. It feels really nice on the skin and doesn't cling onto dry patches. However I need to put 2 layers of this on to cover acne scarring and redness. It's very very shimmery and I have oily skin. It is a lovely product. I think it would be great for someone with dry skin looking for an illuminating tinted moisturizer. I tried Golden which was a great match for me when I put it on but later it became darker so if you're looking to purchase I would go one shade lighter since it oxidizes?

Looking for a tinted moisturizer that provides sheer coverage that is buildable and feels soft and comfortable on your skin? Jouer's Luminizing Moisture Tint may be worth trying if that's what you are looking for. :) Now this isn't the end all of tinted moisturizers, I plan on trying Laura Mercier and Becca's who I've only heard good things about their tinted moisturizers.
Coverage:
As expected, this is sheer coverage. One application will coat my face and cover slight imperfections like blemishes and acne scars, but it may take two or three to cover redness quite well. When I have my redness under control (Mario Badescu's Control Cream and other MB products help with flare ups) but some days my skin will still flare up and be bright red, and on those days this tinted moisturizer will make it a very light pinkish tint but won't completely cover it. So if you have mild redness this could cover it up nicely, but if you have intense rosacea this isn't worth the effort of overapplying. But this is buildable so adding several layers never makes the skin looks cakey, it blends in really well. No streaks here :)
Finish:
Luminous, just as the title implies :) I really makes my skin looks healthy and lively. When I first apply it, the finish of the product looks dewy but it becomes more of a luminous sheen in a matter of minutes. Great for anyone who is looking for a pick-me-up for dull or overworked skin. It didn't enhance my pores, actually it blurred them out a little bit! (but not dramatically)
Shade:
I wore Golden when I more pale, but I'm more tan now so I have some sample packets with the shade Glow to try. Glow is a little darker than Golden and at first I thought it would be a great match, but I don't know what happened maybe it oxidized (?)..but my face was orange :/ My bronzer for contouring probably didn't help but I wanted to clean my face immediately. This TM only offers like 5 or 6 shades, so the variety of shades is rather poor. If you have very dark skin, unfortunately Jouer doesn't have a product to cater to that audience. I know their sheer and supposed to be more accommodating to skin tones but IMO a bigger selection needs to be made. I wish there was a inbetween shade perfect for me or at least Glow didn't turn orange on me...
Benefits:
This product claims to even out imperfections and fade appearances of fine lines with it's light diffusing multi mineral formula. It does cover imperfections quite well, fine lines? Can't really preach that due to my age. It has SPF 20 to protect the skin from sun and environmental damage and uses "Ginseng and Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract deliver antioxidants to skin, promoting a healthy complexion." Since the skin does look healthy and glowing when I use this, I can't knock this product for it's claims! My face doesn't go white in pictures due to the spf either.
Price:
Okay I think the full sized one is roughly $38. I got trial samples when I bought a product from their spring collection which convinced me to buy them (damn you sample packets!!!! Cause me a lot of trouble financially, making me fall in love with products ;D ) and I got three uses out of each one. I didn't want to shell out $38 for this though honestly, I'm not very familiar with the Jouer brand and if I saved a couple dollars more I could simply buy a Chanel foundation, you know? So I went with the Mini Luminizing Moisture Tints, in which you 4 miniature tints sent to you for $20. They're literally tiny, make sure you know that! I get 6 separate applications from each tube, and all 5 lasted me about a month. Honestly I'd get the full tube, spending 20 seemed smart but I got a lot less. I like this product, but it is quite pricey!
Overall:
Lovely tinted moisturizer that takes care of minor imperfections but limited shade selection and the price point is a little discouraging. I'm still on the search for my HG foundation, but this is great for lazy days where you desire fresh skin but don't want to work for it!

I really wanted to like it, but I'm quite disappointed as it made my face looks so orange. If you don't have flawless skin, I don't recommend this tinted moisturizer because it doesn't have any coverage, plus would accentuate your fine lines due to the glittery ingredients. The only good point is it won't dry out the skin.

This is definitely not the kind of product you want to get if your looking for coverage, even just a little. It's very sheer and blends into the skin. My problem is you can barely see any difference once you apply the product. It just gives a little bit of a glow, but for 38$ that really isn't much at all. I will say I love how the product has SPF 20, so it's a great product for sun protection that isn't heavy. But unless you have a pretty flawless face, this isn't the right product for you.

I got this in Golden for my fair to light yellow skin tone. It's very sheer and very very minimal coverage so the limited color range isn't an issue. Sometimes I need to ask myself why I use this when I don't see too much difference, not much on evening my skin tone (maybe just a little lighter?), or lightening my spots (they still look obvious). Same with Smashbox tinted moisturizer in Luminous. Since it's so sheer, it doens't look matte and it does give you little bit of glow, but I do see a few very small chunks of shimmer on my face, just a few. MD skincare TM covers more but looks matte. The consistency is the same as other TM, very smooth like moisturizer when applied, and moisturizing enough for my combo skin, and didn't ball up at all. BTW, I do apply moisturizer and moisturizing primer before putting this on, and it doesn't feel or look thick on that.
I take one lippie off as $38 is a little pricy for this brand.
I prob. won't buy it again as I want something with just a bit more coverage besides the glow.
EDIT 1/18/2011: I am loving this TM. It gives a natural glow in the winter and it does brighten my skin a bit. It's quite moisturizing for the winter, although I will use a very thin moisturizer underneath. what I like it is that it tends to go better without a primer, so it saves a step and a layer of product on my skin. I like it!!!!!

this made me look like i had a nice, subtle glow from within. unfortunately it doesn't seem to agree with my skin. i have sensitive and normal-to-dry skin, and after a few hours of wearing this tinted moisturizer it seems to dry my skin up. by the end of the day you can clearly see the moisturizer on top of my skin. maybe because it's oil free? really wish this worked for me. it will probably work for those with normal and oily skin types. dry-skinned girls may have to stay away.

This stuff is gorgeous. I like it better than my Chanel Vitalumiere. It is definitely glowy which is good for my 34 yr old skin. It makes my skin look gorgeous. Doesn't settle into fine lines or enhance then like a lot of glowy things do. it just makes you look radiant! I look like i've got fabulous skin. I've only worn it for 2 days but so far I'm hooked. If anything changes, I'll update. I got Golden which is a perfect match for me.
