I really wanted to love this lotion. The first two days I used it under foundation and it felt like a miracle! My skin was moisturized, matte, and when I took off my makeup all the usual redness in my skin was gone. I actually felt like I could go without foundation because of it.
Fast forward a to day 3 and 4, I noticed small red dots on my face and neck but I have acne prone skin so I thought it was just a small usual breakout. Day 5 I applied my face was burning and the lotion wasn't hydrating my skin anymore. I also noticed that the red dots kept appearing and they weren't acne at all, they were hives!
I think I had an allergic reaction to niacinamide. I really wish I could use this lotion and the results were the same as the first day I used it, but sadly I my skin reacts terribly to it. I've never had such a bad reaction to a moisturizer before.

The product has been reformulated and now has a white label, not the old blue one. The NEW sunscreen ingredients are:
Homosalate (12%), Octinoxate (7.5%), Octocrylene (2%), Zinc Oxide (3.5%)
This is nice sunscreen, comparable to Olay Sensitive SPF 30. As compared to that one, it has less of a white cast, and leaves a more matte finish initially, but is more moisturizing/hydrating in dry, colder weather. I have used this for a few days, stopped, and resumed and I can tell it will be a staple in my cabinet now. I have no idea how I will like this in hot. humid summer weather but so far I love it for dry weather, travelling on planes, and cool spring days.

If you have sensitive skin, BE CAREFUL. Test out the product in the tiny, small corner of your face before putting it all over it. My face reacted BADLY to this product. As soon as I put it on, my face started to tingle. I didn't think it so serious so I left home to run errands. But tingle was followed by an itchy, burning sensation, and I could see in the mirror that my skin was swelling. I wanted to wash my face right away but couldn't as I was outside. 6 hours later, I got home and washed my face. But the chemicals had gotten me already - my face was bright red, swollen, dry as a sandpaper, and stung so badly. The next day, I was covered with whiteheads. Burning, itching sensation continued. Red, swollen, whitehead-filled face!! I missed work the next day due to this madness. I never put this product again on my face. Slowly but surely, my skin improved but it took about a WEEK!!! The whiteheads went away, as did itchy, burning sensation. I will NEVER buy this product EVER AGAIN!!! Perhaps if you have strong skin & are not allergic to chemicals, this is a good lotion for you. For me, it was a NIGHTMARE.

This is great if your skin is not extremely oily. I can only use it in dead of winter, when my face is less oily, and even then, I can only use it when the air is VERY dry, cuz I have terribly oily, acne prone skin. It's very nice stuff, and I can use it on neck, chest (except in hot humid weather), hands, etc w/ no problem. It has no whitening effect, and sinks in w/ less of a shiny effect than say LRP Fluide Extreme, or Avene Cleanance spf 30, but is just too moisturizing for an oil-slick like me. It contains niacinamide and ss ingredients are Homosalate, Octinoxate, Octocrylene, and ZO. Nice stuff, just not quite the right formula for very oily skin.

This was one of only a few AM moisturizers recommended to me by my dermatologist. I've been using SPF moisturizer every day on my face, neck, and chest for years, and I was open to trying something different. Overall, it's just a basic morning moisturizer with broad-spectrum SPF 30; it's noncomedogenic, so it doesn't clog pores; it doesn't roll up or get flaky; it's a bit heavier than some daytime moisturizers, but not greasy; it doesn't look white or chalky; and I can tolerate using it under my eyes, on my eyelids, and across my brow bone. I have to use 3 pumps to cover my face adequately, and 1 extra pump to go around my eyes. It's not the most exciting product I've ever used, but it gets the job done a little better than other moisturizers I've tried. I also like that it contains ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid...it's unusual to find even one or two of those ingredients in a drugstore moisturizer, let alone all three. I just wish it didn't cost nearly twice as much as my Eucerin moisturizer (which is a bit too light for me during colder months)...and for less product, too! I took away one lipstick because CeraVe does contain parabens, which I've been trying to avoid.

Made me break out. But I haven't found a sunscreen that doesn't make me break out though... I love their PM moisturizer though it's my HG which is the reason I tried their AM moisturizer.

This product is great for travel, as it is under the limit for liquids when flying (3.7 oz) and it has spf 30. Win-win. However, despite it's multi-use effectiveness, it won't be my at home mainstay. I find the product will not come out of the bottle using the pump, so I have to unscrew the pump and plop some into my palm, which negates the entire point of the sanitary pump in the first place. I don't have any issues with absorption, my normal-dry skin absorbes this just fine. I wait about 5 minutes before applying makeup.

I'm dissapointed in this in as much as due to the chemical sunscreen in this I can't use it around eyes. However if your having the same problem as me, do as I do, use this on your face and a physical sunscreen around eyes. This is a super moisturiser with a high spf containing a lot of beneficial ingredients packed so the ingredients remain stable during use. It's not in the slightest bit greasy on my combination skin but I can't see this working if your skin is dry. I just wish I could apply this around eyes but it's the same for me with any avebenzone sunscreen. One negative here is it dosen't contain antioxidants but I overcome this by using an antioxidant serum underneath.Overall, good product at a reasonable price.

I really thought I would like this product since I love the regular lotion and cleanser but it made my skin breakout and become very rashy.

PROs: lives up to claims that it "helps repair, restore protective skin barrier" with ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid, and Cerave time-tested formula; really is "non-comedogenic, non-irritating"; soaks in fast, very light and fresh feeling; VERY MILD sunscreen smell; kind to eyes and acne; great for hot, humid climate; pump is hygienic and convenient.
CONs: not oil-free for those who are really oily, takes a few minutes to dry, best applied to dry (not damp) skin, no extra antioxidant protection for daytime.
Finished the entire bottle! Worth every penny. I wear this everyday, mostly without any makeup. This was a BIG improvement for me over Olay Complete SPF. My combination, congested skin became more balanced, resilient, and calm with daily use. Don't forget to download a coupon from Cerave's website.

I've been using this moisturizer for a month now. So far, so good! My normally combination skin has been drier lately so I decided to try something different. I use and love the CeraVe PM moisturizer and the foaming cleanser they make, so I thought the daytime moisturizer would make a great addition to my routine. I like the spf 30 and the ingredients (niacinimide, ceremides, and hyaluronic acid to name a few) are all great for keeping skin healthy. The only complaint I have is how thick the product is. One pump is enough for just my face, then another pump for my neck and chest. This isn't a problem, but the product itself is so thick I have a little trouble applying it. But this isn't enough of an issue to stop using it!

I got a bunch of AM and PM samples on ebay. I am definitely getting a full sized bottle of the PM but I am on the fence on the AM version. I HATE anything with sunscreen in it - this one is a bit better than most but it is still sorta sticky. It does eventually soak in but it takes FOREVER and I am in such a hurry most mornings. I usually end up using the PM in the morning because it feels so darn good.
I wanted to add that I have a moderate case of rosacea and this doesn't make it flare up. Dare to say, once it finally soaks in, my skin looks better.

This is the best daytime moisturizer ever! Between this the Cerave pm moisturizer and the hydrating cleanser my irritated dry skin is smooth again. I use 2-3 pumps every morning it's lightweight and hydrating. This doesn't clog my pores at all.

For my 40 year old normal to oily skin that has a some redness around my nose and no fine lines or wrinkles yet...this moisturizer works for me. I appreciate the high SPF it has in it and it doesn't leave my face an oil slick and my makeup (when I wear it) goes on smoothly. I wear this moisturizer everyday and my face feels soft and smooth. A little pricey for a product you buy at a drugstore, but all in all a total rave from me.

I love this for a day moisturizer but only in the winter when I want my skin a little more moisturized and dewy. If I wear it under my makeup in the summer, it is oil-slick city!

I've been using this product (along with the PM one) for a couple years and have been quite happy with them. For the past 6 months my eyes have been watering like crazy and my nose running like a faucet like every single day. Which aside from making wearing eye makeup nearly impossible is just maddeningly annoying. I thought my indoor/outdoor allergies had gotten out of control, but, I recently ran out of this stuff and didn't have time to repurchase for a couple days and wound up using the PM moisturizer during the day. CeraVe AM moisturizer is definitely the culprit of my watery eyes and runny nose. I feel like an idiot it took my so long to realize it. I don't know if they changed the formula or if I just developed an allergy to it but I'll be throwing it in the bin immediately. Fellow sensitive skinned allergy sufferers beware.

I liked the feel of this lotion - on those days the chemical sunscreens in it didn't irritate my skin. I would be all about this product as it has niacinimide, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides - all good stuff for your skin and to find all of these in a facial product under $20 is hard. But until they alter the sunscreens in it (or switch to zinc or titanium dioxide) I won't be trying it again. It has too much chemical sunscreen to be just a spf 30.

I purchased the CereVe AM lotion in hopes to find a good moisturizer with SPF so that I would be protected as I worked outside. Unfortunately, this moisturizer left my face very oily within an hour. I used this moisturizer for about 2 months then I had to stop its use because I just could not take the excessive oil.

First let me say that I like most Cerave products very much. Conceptually this lotion is wonderful but it doesn't work for my combo skin at all. When I bought it I was hoping to wear it under makeup daily, but it's too heavy for that on me. If I apply it under makeup my face looks like an oil slick within hours. I used this up while swimming this summer, worked well for that purpose but I would not repurchase as I think Neutrogena's dry touch works good as well and I get way more for $. For daily wear under make up I now either rely on my foundation or I use a more mattifying sunscreen over my regular face lotion. I manage to get a good dose of niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and ceramides in my day and night face lotions so I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything that this lotion offers.
