Holy grial product. I would say that I do not necessarily need it or can't live without it, but the subtle glow it gives me makes it a staple product in my collection.

I find that this oxidises on my face after 2/3 hours and makes my face a lot darker. It's a shame since I love the softening effect of this powder. Will not repurchase as it is expensive and I can live without it.

The packaging is beautiful, the product is beautiful and the effect is beautiful. Your face will look luminous and fresh, with the slightest touch of shimmer. It's a great subtle (very subtle) highlighter, but I like to use this as a finishing powder. This is is "brighter" one of the group.

I'll start with- I LOVE this product. I love it. I bought them on a recommendation from someone on here and I have no regrets at all. I love them.
I will be honest though and say I don't see any of the glowy/illuminating effect from them at all, but that doesn't stop my love for them.

My skin feels lovely after I use them, they're actually a very good finishing powder for me (very combination skin), and they do help keep my skin balanced throughout the day (not too oily, don't dry my cheeks further). They smell incredible! And yes the metal box is lovely.
Honestly, I will not only be rebuying these, they have also made me want the travel compact and some more of the LE ones too.

Fantastic product, love it.

Okay, it took me forever to get here. For years and years, I have always thought that this product was a lot of hype. One of my friends swears by it but she has great skin anyway so I was not convinced. Fast forward to the present where I had wandered into a duty free shop at the airport and met a sales assistant by the guerlain counter. In trying to show me their value travel exclusives, she fumbled while opening a brand new box and spilled the little pearls all over the floor! I felt so bad for her I bought a set of two travel- friendly boxes.

I regretted it when I first tried it as a finishing powder, I couldn't tell if it was there or not. It was so sheer and colorless I wasn't sure that my brush had picked up any product at all. Then people started telling me I've been looking great lately. Nothing else had changed in my makeup routine other than the addition of this expensive powder that I really couldn't see on my skin. One day, I took a good look at my face before and after the application of the powder. Then I saw it. My face looked fresh and luminous, not matte and flat. It was highlighted in subtle yet effective way. Not frosty or shimmery so it doesn't emphasize lines and pores (Hellooo shimmer bricks!),

You don't need this product if you're happy with what you have. But if you're looking for something that will take you the extra mile, then try it for a while and you may find yourself completey converted, like me.

P.S. I now also own the Perles Du Dragon.

Guerlain is one of those brands that produces the most luxurious, pretty, well-thought out products that are eye candy for your vanity. Meteorites is one of those iconic products from Guerlain, along with their classic fragrances. It looks beautiful sitting next to my perfumes, with a feminine, elegant appeal.

Now, aside from the exquisite packaging and lovely violet scent wafting from the multi-colored pearly balls, do you need this? The answer is no. However, I find that it functions well as a setting powder, it mattifies my oily skin and adds a touch of luminosity. In direct sunlight, the shimmer particles are slightly visible, but undetectable under artificial. I especially love to use this over my Lingerie de Peau foundation, which I also love. Many confuse Meteorites for a highlighter, but it is more of a light setting powder. It can also be used over your regular powder to add a touch of glow. I often have a problem with powders turning my skin my ashy and pink (I'm pale and yellow-toned), but this doesn't.

This is a lovely product if you are one of those ladies that love spending time on your beauty ritual, and appreciate little luxuries in your life such as this! But from a practical standpoint, this product does not perform better than any other setting powder, and there are certainly cheaper highlighters on the market if that is the effect you desire. But I'll always love to have these around on my vanity to add a little touch of happiness in the morning. =)

I have the Meteorites in Teint Rose and i am in love. These are little multi-colored balls that come in a round tin. This color is part of the permanent line and is meant to be used as a finishing powder for the face. I use my Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply these, and it seems to pick up a decent amount, and applies evenly. There is no coverage from this powder, it just gives a very subtle glow to the complexion. It does not cover redness or anything like that, and is not meant to. I sometimes use a dusting of these balls over the Pearls Primer that Guerlain has, and this amps up the glow a bit. The pearls smell like violets, and to me that is part of what gives this product it's luxe appeal. This scent does fade once on the face thou. One thing I will mention is you have to use a lighter hand when swirling your brush in the meteorites because if you use a heavy hand, you may pick up some of the balls with your brush and they will get flung out of the container. They are very sturdy, and mine did not break apart like I thought they would when I dropped one on the floor.
The meteorites come with a sponge that sets atop them under the lid of the tin so that they are protected from damage whilst being transported. These are lovely and I hope to always have these beauties in my possession.

WHAT IT IS IS:
Guerlain Meteorites are an iconic luxury cosmetic. If you're new to the idea, it's colored little talc beads in a little container, which is usually very pretty. Smells flowery, like violets. Looks sheer when applied and somewhat sparkly. Teint Rose has pink, yellow, lavender, mint, and white ballz. Some are matte, some shimmery. The overall effect is dimensional near-white.

PROS:
It's almost impossible to overdo. That is, if you have a high tolerance for a bit of sparkle.
It's pretty as all get-out.
It smells nice.

CONS:
If you're sensitive to and/or offended by talc, glitter, or fragrance, this is not the iconic luxury cosmetic for you.
Not a miracle worker.

TL;DR:
Nobody needs these, but I have tenzy because they're pretty and the finish is nice, so I guess the big G is doing something right.

LOVE the packaging, love it so much I'm pretty sure the product actually does nothing but make you feel lovely putting it on...

This broke me out terribly, which really upset me because I bought it from Myer in Australia for about $130!

Can't bring myself to throw it away because I love the way the container looks too much in my cabinet.

My 2nd HG product of 2013. Actually I bought it for my mom bcos she likes it. Who knows she depotted some pearls n declared the rest is mine. I was like...what am I gonna do with this??? Left it aside for a couple of months n one fine day accidentally using it on my entire face rather then just highlighting certain areas. Controls oil well. Face glows. I like looking into the mirror. Such happiness is something money cannot buy. I love it.

Use this as final step after everything else. Gives a subtle polish finish with radiance. Can be a little drying if applied around the eye area. My colleagues have been asking what I have done to my skin recently!!! How lovely..

Yeah, after a long time of research I found out that this contains bismuth. So...

Dear Guerlain,
"SCREW YOU!"

Sincerely, my acne prone skin.

I love the idea and was so excited to try this, but now I'm glad I didn't spend big bucks on this product. I actually own the terracotta bronzer from Guerlain, and even if the color is superb it breaks out the skin across my cheekbones and where I apply it terribly. So after reading about this and how great it was, I was very disappointed about the ingredients. Bismuth Oxychloride is a metall that's normally not found in nature. It's not supposed to be poisonous, but this has been discussed and disagreed on in the makeup world for ages (especially when Mineral makeup became tha bomb).

So this ingredient is used in makeup because it's cheap, and makes the makeup stay put. It's also shimmery and has a light reflecting effect, which makes the skin appear smoother. But that's the only positive thing about this, because so much as 85% of the women are allergic to this ingredient. So many who have acne prone skin and zits, often don't know why until they start researching ingredients in cosmetics and find out that this sucker was the problem all that time.

If you become itchy after applying this, especially when you're sweating and it's warm outside, then it's thanks to the bismuth in this product. The body will push away and reject things it doesn't agree with, and since bismuth is so heavy on the skin, it often reacts to it and starts producing acne and bumps across the skin.

Just because a brand is expensive does not mean it's good for the skin, and I will not buy this unless Guerlain does something about this outdated and terrible ingredient. So sad, because the concept behind this is great in SO many ways. Why does high performing products like this have to be so bad for acne prone skin? :-/

I've had my eye on these for a while, reading many good reviews and needed to find a product that would brighten up my face. After saving my pennies I purchased this item about two weeks ago @ Sephora. Like other reviews, you don't see a diffference on your skin until you've used them a few times and then notice a "glow". I used a kabuki brush to swirl it over the pearls and dust over my face. I've tried them over foundation and blush, over tinted moisturizer and over just plain moisturizer and each time they deliver that halo glow. Love the violet scent (it disappears). I love this product. They work - leaves a healthy aura to where ever applied. Highly recommend these. Yep, they are costly but will probably last forever. I'm NC25 yellow undertones and the Tient Rose works just fine.

I love the new metal tin can! It still looks new after many uses. The color in this Teint Rose is the same as Mythic 01 in the old cardboard container. The effect of this highlighter is so subtle one can use it all over the face. Teint Rose adds no color to the face only tiny sparkles and gives it a very soft glow. Although I usually do not like scents in my makeup but the smell of this powder is so luxurious I do not mind it in this case. The amount included is extremely generous, you may never need to buy another one, especially now it's in a sturdier container!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff!!!!!! I have it in Teint Rose and I'm in between NC 25 and NC 30 in complexion. First off, for everyone thinking that this is a highlighter, this product is NOT in the least a highlighter! This is a beautiful finishing powder that you cannot see at all. At first when you apply it, it looks very blah (not chalky at all), and you're like okkkaayyy, this is like every other finishing powder. But give it like 20 minutes and holy cow! It imparts this amazingly beautiful glow to your face that I can't even explain! All I know is that I've never seen anything like it before! You can't see the powder anywhere on your face, yet it brightens your face and makes it look so angelic. I'm constantly looking at myself in the mirror and I do notice that I get a lot of compliments when I'm wearing this. These tiny little balls are just magical! I usually apply this all over my face with my Diorskin Nude foundation and don't usually use any other powders. Once in a while I'll use some Dior shimmering powder if I want to highlight my cheeks and forehead. Or if I want a little more coverage, I throw on some Diorskin Nude Scupting powder, but since that powder is thick and definitely looks very powdery, I don't prefer to use that often and everyday. I would never pay $60 for a powder, but this stuff is a Godsend!!!! I would get it over and over again! I have a feeling that these tiny balls will last a while though. Oh yeah and no breakouts guys! And believe me when I say that I have the MOST sensitive, acne-prone skin ever to exist---I even breakout with the wrong detergent/drier sheets! One thing to add is that this doesn't provide any coverage whatsoever, hence why you can't see it on your skin as "powder." It's simply a finishing powder that makes you look like you have the prettiest skin in the room. I also notice that any other powder will make my skin matte at first and then oily as the day progresses (esp. the t-zone), but the meteorites NEVER make my face look greasy as the day progresses, not even my t-zone! I'm so so so impressed with this wondrous product, and everyone can stand to benefit with this IMO.

I at first (like most people) thought these were a highlighter for the cheeks. they're not! this is a finishing powder designed to illuminate the skin.

and also like most people, I saw no difference at first. but then you look more closely and think yes, something is diffrent.

I always say Guerlain are contradicting themselves, claiming that the meteorites line (primer etc) are all desinged to make you look natural but radiant. and they put "light relfecting particles" aka glitter in everything in the meteorites line.

but then again the glitter isn't that noticeable and there isn't lots of it. the white/silver pearls are the ones with glitter in, so if you don't have all the silver pearls at the top of the pot you will get little/no glitter on your face.

the light still catches on the skin and reflects like it normally would with or without this powder. but Meteorites do even out skin tone, (or appear to) so they give a smooth and even finish. I particularly like the finish this powder gives, smooth and even and doesn't look powdery at all. so I guess there aren't any tell tale signs you're wearing the powder, which is what a powder should do.

the pearls also seem to stop shine/sweat and make makeup last longer along with primer. the pearls give a natural finish, and I don't go shiny at all during the day. apart from my nose & chin, but they go shiny whatever I have on, so a bit of concealer sorted them out.

I have a range of differently priced foundations from Maybelline to Chanel. and I found the pearls go on best on more expensive liquid foundations. they don't do too well on top of powder /powdery finish, like Maybelline matte mousee.

these do seem expensive when you think £30-odd just for finishing powder, but there is 30grams. where as most powders are only 9 - 10, at the most 12g. so this is actually quite good for the money. I've had mine 3 months now and the pearls don't appear to have gotten any smaller. and lots of people say they last eons.

HINT - testing these in store won't give you a true representation of the colour unless you use a clean brush. because this so light and hardly pigmented and the brush at the counter will have been dipped in every other type of powder and colours that you'll get all the other colours and powders on your skin along with the one you want to try. so take a clean brush and swirl generously into the testing pot and on the back of one of your hands and compare it against the other hand in natural light, you'll see the diffrence.

Tried the pressed powder version, which was just OK. But I love this stuff! Imparts a subtle glow that looks ethereal. No crazy sparklies in here, and it doesn't get cakey and emphasize undereye lines as does the doctor/drugstore version. I bought mine over 15 months ago, use it daily, and still have about half a tin left. So the sticker shock is considerable, but the value great. I also use the meteorites brush with this, and am pleased with its performance.

First of all the metal tin they come in is so pretty! I love it. And the product itself is really amazeballs.

The balls themselves smell like violets, which I adore. I use them as an all-over setting powder and they give the most beautiful subtle glow to my complexion. If you are looking for serious shiny highlights, you might be disappointed, but if you're just looking for a boost for your face, this product is the best. I will buy again for sure.

I've been wanting to buy this for years but $60 on a sheer illuminating powder?? I always passed. But I caved last month when I fell in love with Guerlain foundation..so I thought why not? This powder is supposed to give skin a glowy radiant look and each pearl has a specific color correcting purpose. I chose Rose since it is the original and supposed to work with most skin tones. After using this as a finishing powder...WOW. It gives such a magical effect. Truly gave me a radiant glow...like those makeup ads where the model has perfect skin. It evened out my skin tone, diminished fine lines, made me look less tired, and well like I said, I looked radiant. Meteorites ARE NOT supposed to give you color and they DO NOT show up shimmery like a highlight at all. They are not detectable once on, they just enhance skin like foundation does. It's almost impossible to overdo. So if you want a blush or color or a pigmented highlighter, this is not that. These will last me years! though I will gladly buy a new one :)
