This spray really adds much needed volume to my fine hair. I usually just use it before blow drying my hair and I definitely see a difference. I work closely with the Sebastian product line at my work and I can also say the stylists love this as well. I think the fragrance is lovely, however I have seen many people complain of a blocked nozzle, so this is a product that might do this quickly with lots of use!

I've been using this product for about 6 months. I purchased it after my hair stylist recommended it to me. I found that it worked better in summer. Perhaps the humidity assisted in creating the volume I need for my fine, shoulder length hair. Now that we're in the cooler months, this spray has not been working so well, so I recently switched back to my old favourite, KMS California's Add Volume spray, which feels lighter, less greasy, and creates volume all over including at the roots. KMS California is a lot lighter so it doesn't weigh my hair down the way Sebastian does.

I also don't really like the strong floral fragrance used in the Sebastian spray. I much prefer KMS California's peppery scent which is fresher.

Overall, this product isn't bad but I will not repurchase it because it is expensive and I prefer KMS California.

My Holy Grail. I have very fine limp hair that is thinning due to thyroid and this gives GREAT body without being tangly as you're trying to blowdry. Gave me great volume that lasted til the next morning and really, I didn't have to redo my hair, but did because I had some new products to try. Sorry that I did. My hair looked better on day 2 with Volupt than it did on day 1 with Goldwell Topwhip. I'm going to stock up on the Volupt cuz as soon as I love something they change it or discontinue it. Super awesome volume product. And did I mention my hair was shiny? What more could you ask.

This spray works well! The smell is great, and the bottle is easy to use. When I use this, I use it before blowdrying. Hair gets body and look shiny with good texture. It's easier to style after usage. The only reason I don't give this the highest grade is that I don't really like spraying things in the scalp, I'm afraid my hair will look dirty and greasy. But this is just a hang-up of mine, the product is very good!

This is a fantastic product but to have it work correctly you have to shake it before you spray it. It's a 2 part mixture. This is probably why people aren't getting the right volume from it.

58 YEARS OLD- FIRST TIME A PRODUCT GAVE ME MORE VOLUME! I have fine stick straight hair that lays down flat-over the years I've probably spent thousands of dollars trying to find "that product" that would give my hair more volume. THIS IS IT . Sang in a band for years and used to tease my hair at the roots and spray with Spritz Forte hairspray by Sebastian ( the '80's, big hair) well usually my husband just laughs when I tell him I've found a new product, BUT this time I came out of the bathroom and he said "wow" you look like you have more hair"! AND I did-my hair was shiny, the strands themselves looked in better condition ( I'm 20% gray and the haircolor "frys" my ends) My hair looked thicker, what can I say. It worked ! I'm so happy!

Not impressed. I've got fine, colored shoulder-length hair and despite trying every method suggested by others posting here on MUA, it does nothing for me (and the Sebastian website's promise of amazing results doesn't helpl). This produces less volume than most comparable brands' versions and whatever effects I was able to create vanished soon after. This was an impulse buy along with Sebastian Texturizer in the same line - which is actually quite nice - and should've read reviews here first. Sigh.

This spray really didn't do anything for my hair. It does smell really good, but the scent fades away quickly. I also wasn't impressed with the shampoo and conditioner - I have fine hair, but I have so much of it that it usually doesn't react well to products for fine thin hair. Maybe someone else will have better luck with this spray, but its not for me!

Currently have an angled, layered bob style that I am trying to grow out. I have fine hair and so require a product that will add body. My stylist recommended this so I went with it.

Think it did an ok job but was nothing amazing. I continued to use for a few months until I read an article in the waiting room at Dr. appt. about the right products based on hair type. This is just not for my straight, fine hair - spray gels are more for curly, frizzy or flyaway hair.

Overall I will say it does have a nice scent and it did not make my hair crunchy like a typical gel would. But I would not repurchase since I need more volume. Found it in Redken GUTS!

received this through a bzzagent campaign. it's not my favorite hairspray, but it did work all right for what it said it would do, which is give volume without adding weight. my hair is highlighted, fine and limp, and i used it when i was curling and making my hair wavy. it definitely had decent holding power and my hair wasn't matte, but it had the potential to leave it a little sticky. you can solve this by brushing your hair thoroughly before curling or putting it on rollers, not brushing it after (which would remove the curl/wave anyway).

all in all, a fine product, i just wouldn't use it often enough to repurchase. i like the packaging, too.

I received this product from BzzAgent and I'm really glad I did because who doesn't want voluminous hair? I applied the spray gel onto my hair after styling. My hair is naturally wavy/frizzy so using this as a finishing product seemed to define my waves. I wore this through an engagement photoshoot in the hot humidity of Bali and my waves were still defined and voluminous! Despite the $20 pricetag, I would highly recommend this product. This product is a pump spray so it is also environmentally friendly.

I think this product is horrible!!! If you like crunchy, clumpy and super hard hair that you can not run your fingers through, then this is the product for you. I followed the directions and sprayed it into my damp hair at the roots and to the ends. I let it air dry hoping ot get a nice curl that was not frizzy and had some volume. I couldn't even run my fingers through it!! gross! not worth $5, let alone $20 anyone want it?

My hair has enough volume at the ends but can get really flat on top. Last night, I tried the entire Volupt system which consists of a shampoo, conditioner and spray gel. The shampoo was nice, not too drying. The conditioner felt a bit thin but did a nice job of softening my hair. After washing and conditioning, I put the spray gel on my damp hair, combed it through and blow-dried. It seemed like it took less time to dry than normal and I definitely got some nice volume and body. Everything also smells good, like you just came from the salon, though the scent a little strong for my taste b/c I can still smell it today. FYI, I received this product free to try from BzzAgent.

Full disclosure: got the Volupt Spray Gel for free as part of a BzzKit along with the matching shampoo and conditioner.

I must be the only person not in love with this stuff, and don't think I didn't try! I have loads of very fine hair, so it's easy for it to get weighed down at the roots, and I thought this would be a great solution for root lift. Every time I use it - be it with the Sebastian shampoo and conditioner or not - I get wads of tangly hair that is not tremendously touchable. I do get some root lift, but at the expense of the rest of my hair behaving! I shook it up and sprayed it root to tips as mentioned on the directions on the bottle, and that was a mess I could hardly comb through, but I persevered and blow-dried anyway. Then I tried just spraying the roots, which did work better, but enough still distributed through the rest of my hair so that I had some knots. I finally put it away for a week, and got it out again yesterday and gave myself an all over coating just to remember the results, and trying to brush through my towel-tried hair was like trying to brush through hair that hadn't even been conditioned. I can't remember the last time I had such awful knots; it was like trying to comb through hair after swimming in the ocean! I gave up and just wore my hair tied back in a bun. (But it was a smooth bun!)

I'm glad this works for other people, but I just can't recommend it myself.

I got this in a bzzzkit so didn't pay for it. I am not using the shampoo/conditioner bc they contain SLS but I did try this spray gel today. I sprayed a small amount on after I showered and brushed through. I dried my hair about 25 minutes later. I don't use many products in my hair - usually just something for heat protection bc I flat iron. I like this a lot. My hair is full but not at all frizzy and it's soft. I think this stuff is pretty pricey ($20ish) but I'm definitely having a good hair day!

This is my all time favourite styling product!!!! LOVE! My hairdresser sprayed this through my hair after shampoo and conditioner and tne blow dried with a medium sized round brush. I have fine straight hair and this gave it so much volume while keeping it so soft! I could run my fingers through my hair and feel the softness whilst retaining the volume. I am so glad that i found this and think this is a must have product for those who have fine/limp hair and want volmue - you won't regret it :-)

(disclosure: received this for review from BzzAgent!)

I absolutely love this, even though I'm sure I haven't even tapped into its true potential yet. Because it's summer, I dread blow-drying my hair, but if I let my hair air dry, it is almost too soft and just lays there. It's not flat by any means, but it's too flat for my liking. As a result, I've been putting my hair into 2 buns when it's almost dry before going to bed. When I take them out in the morning, I get nice waves that I sometimes accentuate more with a curling iron.

Anyway, I spray this into my hair before putting it in the buns and it helps hold the wave while also controlling it so it doesn't become a frizzy mess. I also spray a little bit more in the morning and scrunch it a bit to give it more definition and body. I'm loving this! It also smells fantastic.

When it cools off, I'll try using this a straight up volumizing spray before blow-drying and will update review.

Will definitely repurchase when I run out.

UPDATE: I have only found this product at Ulta stores. It leaves my hair soft and has a very nice smell. Oh, and u get 5 ounces, not 4.

I LOVE this spray. First thing first, the reason I purchased this product was because I was looking for something that would give me TONS of volume and body, like the amazing Sebastian Shaper Fierce does, but without the hairspray look (dry, straw-ish). I used to use Sebastian Shaper Fierce and that gave me AMAZING volume, but I didn't like how my hair had a dryer texture and look to it. But among all the harsprays Ive tried, Sebastian is THE best, bar none, for volume. So I moved on to mousses, and the best mousse Ive found so far, though I haven't tried em all, is John Frieda's Luxurious volume thickening...blah blah. Now the mousse doesn't give me as much volume as hairspray does, duh true for any mousse, but it gives me most volume of all the mousses Ive tried and best of all a soft moveable look to my hair. Still, the volume wasn't as good as the hairspray so ultimately I found my interest wandering yet again, and since I really feel Sebastian makes amazing hairspray, I decided to try out a new product they developed the video on their website which showed how great it was for volumizing, called the Volupt Gel Spray. And this is how I use it on my straight, thinning hair..

1) Wash hair with shampoo, no conditioner, or anything else.
2) Let hair air dry until it is just damp. I get dressed and do makeup in the meantime.
3) Use Volupt Gel Spray: Sectionize hair, spray at roots and completely throughout the rest of the hair too all the way to ends. I use it generously, maybe too much, but haven't found that using too much has any neg side effects.
4) Run fingers through hair and rub hair and distribute product even more throroughly.
5) Brush hair with flat brush, until straight and smooth. Do not take so much time that your hair dries.
6) Blow dry hair upside down, on warm heat NOT hot, med or high air flow ok. Use flat brush to keep combing hair straight, and not let it fly all over the place. Blow dry until hair is completely dry.
7) Flip head over, brush hair again, smooth hair down with your hands as you go, and ur done. I get small frizzies when I blow dry, so the smoothing with the moisture of your hands really helps, or u can use a miniscule amt of oil or setting serum/gloss/lotion to do the same.
8) Done!

Yes I can brush my hair at any point throughout the day and the volume stays, my hair is soft, FULL of tons of volume and body, and moves and looks AAAAMAZING. Best of all, this product does not require you to use more products before or after it to maintain ur look. I do feel though that by using a very light misting of my sebastian spray will only make the volume stay even better even longer, but haven't tried it yet. I have an oily scalp, which is why I have to use minimal products, wash my hair everyday, and NO conditioner to have volume in my hair, and this also means the volume stays about 8 hours and very slowly diminishes a little more and more over time. And the next morning, my scalp is not greasy and my hair does not look dirty, I was truely WOWED. But I still wash my hair to keep my scalp clean and healthy...

* Soo yea, on the volume scale, tied for first are the Sebastian hairspray and Volupt Spray gel, mousse comes in last.

* You get four ounces or so for $20 which is HORRIFICALLY expensive. Daily use of this for my med length hair means one bottle lasts only 2-3 weeks = 2 bottles a month = $40.00/mth on styling product alone....like I said, horrific. So yea, I'm looking for a replacement. Sally Hershberger makes something everyone's raving abt which I am going to try this week...I'll review soon....

* I LOVE this product for tons of volume and body, but price makes it a do not repurchase :( Come on Sebastian, get a clue.

I received this as a sample from Bzzagent and I actually really like this product. Usually I don't use hair spray since I have think and straight hair. My hair only falls flat if I don't wash it for over two days. I usually use hair wax or pomade if I want some definition and texture because I feel that all sprays and gels make my hair stiff and unnatural. To my surprise, this actually works fairly well to define the style and keep my hair soft. I will buy it again if I run out since it's very handy to use for the days that I want my hair to look more fluffy and still stay defined.

Sebasian's new cutting edge volumizer product is my HG!

It's called Volupt Spray Gel. It was reviewed by Allure and Instyle Magazine in the June editions and given high five praises. So the product went onto my all-time Wish List. (I already use Sebastian's Shaper Spray and the Plus spray and swear by it.) Anyhoooo, there were only 2 left at Ulta so I thankfully bought it and tried it for the last 2 days. Unbelievable stuff! It runs around $19. The directions require you to shake it up thoroughly since they describe it as a 2 phase product. It's not a particularly large bottle, but rather short. But that's ok as long as you achieve the look you desire with minimum of hard work.

Pros:
~~ Increases volume in fine hair into a wonderful thick THICK MANE!

~~When styling with blower, it smoothes hair, and eliminates frizzies.

~~Easy to style, not sticky, doesn't grab round brush and interrupt the styling process

~~Almost eliminates the need for finishing spray! It's that good!

~~If you thought Bumble and Bumble was good, (I did and swore by it!) you have another thing coming!

~~And if you like that natural surf look with waves and thickness, you can create that look too (without the hair blower)

CON: There isn't any to speak of!

For all those fine haired gals out there....this is a highly recommended product. And I'm a hair product junkie to the core!
