Just bought this cleanser and used it tonight. It cleans the skin very nicely, smell is nice - it's strong but it's a nice soapy scent. Cleans off makeup almost completely, however I still do a once over with a cleansing wipe afterwards just in case. I noticed a little foundation residue so make sure to tone or use a wipe as well. The foam is a lovely consistency and lathering is a breeze, there's nothing to dislike about this cleanser!! It may not be all that "natural" but it's still better that most of the other drug store cleansers. One thing I did notice was that it itched a tiny bit afterwards but face looked fresh and there was no redness which was what makes me give this product 5 stars :) ps my face is combo/sensitive

I bought this product after all the good reviews that I had been reading here. However I have sensitive/oily-combination skin and this product made my face super red! I would definitely not recommend this to someone who has sensitive skin!!

LADIES! You know those nights where you're waaaay too tired to take off your makeup so you end up sleeping in it, and the next day your face feels absolutely ATROCIOUS?!? Well this cleanser removes every single bit of makeup, weather that be foundation OR eye makeup. Yes, this cleanser is so gentle that you can rub it in your eyes and since it's soap free, it does not sting.. it simply removes all your makeup. I love how this cleanser is hypoallergenic, soap free, oil free and non comedogenic. It works wonders for those days where your skin is lacking it's OOMPH! It is not drying whatsoever and leaves my skin so smooth. I love the pump and how it's so foamy - not your boring facial cleanser. I am on my second bottle and will definitely repurchase!

Finally after all this time, my HG cleanser! I have been using so many cleansers and they were either 'meh' or 'oh god never again'. Last month, I replaced all my skincare and makeup products with non comedogenic ones to reduce chances of clogged pores. I have been using Aveeno's positively radiant cleanser, not this makeup removing one, for a year and liked it very much as a morning cleanser. However the most important cleanser for me would be the night one. I do wear foundation or tinted moisturizer daily and use oil cleanser to remove my makeup at night. I usually follow by a cleanser to remove left over makeup or oil residue just as a last check. This being said, I need a cleanser that is very effective or has makeup removing properties in itself to complete the job. In my experience, these are either so bad quality they make my skin 'squeak' afterwards or so moisturizing it leaves oily film afterwards.

This cleanser is a nice balance. It takes off the leftover residue while making my skin feels silky and smooth. My skin loves it! Plus it totally saves me the task of using a sponge to lather up my cleanser, this comes out foamy!!

One lipsie down because it has too strong of a smell for my liking, It is a pleasant smell and most people won't find it bothersome but I prefer unscented products. Also, it can't be carried everywhere. The cap comes off pretty easily and the pump would get the product everywhere if you want to bring this with you. :(

All in all, HG cleanser! Does the job while leaving skin smooth and hydrated. Big bottle size is also a bonus :) Definitely give it a try

I'm on my second bottle of this after reading all the reviews on here. I find that the foam is easy to spread on the face and since I use the silicone face scrub, it helps to remove excess make up and oil. I never had an issue with the scent. After using this, my face doesn't seem tight, but then again, right after I wash my face, I apply witch hazel toner and apply lotion right away. I hate the feeling of tight dry skin so I take measures to apply cream/lotion right after washing my face. I haven't had a major issue with makeup residue after cleansing, but before cleansing my face with this, I use the Clean and Clear makeup wipes to get most of it off first. Overall, this is a pretty good cleanser.

At first I thought it removed all my makeup, but tonight I used my Bioderma eau micellaire after washing my face with the Aveeno cleanser and there was still a lot of makeup residue on the cotton pad! So it's not that good to remove all the makeup if you wear foundation.

I liked that it leaves my skin soft and it's not overdrying. I don't mind the fragrance but some people may dislike it.

I don't like the light foam consistency, but the packaging is convenient with the pump. There is a cap so it's great to travel with.

Overall, it's a great cleanser for people that don't wear too much makeup. It doesn't remove all the makeup if you wear foundation.

It has a gentle floral soapy fragrance. I think it does a decent job cleaning and removing make up at the end of the night. It's not harsh on the skin and doesn't dry out your skin.

I am in love with this face wash- it does a great job of removing all traces of make-up even every bit of mascara. It is gentle and does not dry out your skin. The only problem with this cleanser is that it is so hard to find! The only place I have been able to find it is at ulta. However, this make up remover is more than worth the drive to Ulta. I love the texture of the foam and it rinses completely clean without any residue. I love love love this foaming make up removing cleaser- I have been using it for a year and a half and still am in love!

Started using this about two weeks ago, based on positive reviews on here and in Allure. I have been using the Clinique sensitive skin face cleansing bar for about five years, so it was a big deal (to me!) to make a switch.

I'm very happy that I did. Love the foam consistency, you only need one pump. The smell is great, but not overwhelming. It really does clean off ALL of my makeup, in a way the Clinique never could. Very cleansing, but not overdrying. I have sensitive/combination skin (tend to get dry and irritated on my forehead, and breakout on my chin) and this cleanser has neutralized a lot of the forehead irritation. My skin feels really soft, smooth, fresh and clean after I use this. It is the only cleanser I have ever used that passes the white sheets test - there really is no makeup left behind! Would definitely recommend it!

Update 8/1/11: Ulta is no longer carrying it, and I can't find it anywhere else in store or online either. Such a bummer! Why do the best products always get discontinued? I really hope Aveeno brings this back!

I don't know how well it removes makeup because I usually remove all of my eye makeups before washing my face. As for foundations, after using it to clease my face, I use Cliniuqe toner to wipe out the residues and usually the cotton pads are faily clean. I think that might be the indication that it does remove foundations and concealers pretty well. I love the smell and it gives you a lot of foam. However, my skin feels a bit dry after using it in the winter season. Overall, I am satistifed with this cleanser and will repurchase.

I have used a wide variety of cleansers from expensive to cheap. This product is really good, I'm impressed that it takes everything off and even if I wash my face three times to make sure everything is off, it is not drying and not irritating. Eyemakeup is removed as well, however, I prefer to use a separated eyemakeup remover especially for this area, so that I use less product of the Aveeno. Just prior to this I was using Clean and Clear, from the same company, however that one was drying and I think a bit irritating when I used it multiple times to make sure stuff had come off. This one is a better formulation, and feels more luxurious too; I like it better than Olay Regenerist Micro Purifying Foaming Cleanser, Clinique Foaming Cleanser, Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser, Spectro Jel Cleanser for Blemish Prone skin, Dove Nutrium Soap, and the different Vichy, ROC, Lancome and Estee Lauder cleansers I have tried. Although I am always looking for the next best thing, it is likely that I would purchase this again, I hope they don't discontinue it. Love that it is a pump. I will definitely check out Aveeno's line. Good stuff.
Edit, May 2012: Grew tired of this and gave it away to my friend.
I wish they would put Clarins milky makeup removers in a pump. I prefer them over this cheaper stuff and have more confidence in them as a more effective and beneficial product.

OMG--words almost cannot describe how much I love, love, LOVE this cleanser! It does what it says--removes every last trace of oil and makeup, including eye makeup (except for waterproof mascara, which I rarely wear anyway) and leaves my skin soft and squeaky clean. I absolutely love it and will always repurchase. It has fragrance, but not enough to irritate my skin and it's rather pleasant. Strangely, one of the only places I can find this is at my neighborhood Kroger! Please, Aveeno, don't discontinue this product!!!!!
UPDATE: Well, thanks, Aveeno for discontinuing this cleanser....I can't find it anywhere in Virginia. I have a new love, though--Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser + Makeup Remover!! See my review.

I've always wanted to try an Aveeno product as the advertising makes one think that this is going to be a very "natural" and whole ingredient product. My opinion of this product is quite poor, on account of the fact that I prefer more natural and herbal products like Aveda, Sarah Chapman, Nude Skincare, Tarte, and Burt's Bees. Despite what Johnson and Johnson (this should have been my tip off to NOT buy the product) lead you to think about their products, calling them "active naturals" and having the logo "science + nature" , they're absolutely not natural in any way. Ingredients include lots of PEGs, disodiumlauroamphodiacetate, "fragrance" and other unpronouncables.

Pros:
The price is good on this product.
It has a very lovely iridescent green pump.
It foams well.

Cons:
The scent is bad.
As far as I can tell, there is not much of anything natural in the product.
It didn't remove my makeup.

If you like natural and truly herbal products, I do not recommend this product.

I was so sad. I really did want to love this. It removed my makeup perfectly and completely, which is no easy task- I wear Revlon Colourstay most of the time. The bottle and pump were easy enough, the foam was creamy, it smelled good, it was cheap... But it broke me out horribly. After a week and a half of using it, I had seven painful zits. I hadn't changed anything else, so this was, sadly, the culprit. I couldn't knock the rating down all the way, because it did a wonderful job at removing my makeup. It just wasn't for me.

This is absolutely the best cleanser and the best makeup remover I've ever used! And the fact that it is two products in one, is an added bonus. I have sensitive and dry skin, and use Revlon Colorstay foundation, and some serious MAC eye makeup; and this makeup removing cleanser removes ALL my makeup with three simple pumps of this product. I have NEVER come across a makeup remover that removes makeup without the use of an extra toner or extra makeup remover product! I really hope this product stays on the shelves for a long time because it is excellent. It doesn't sting my eyes, it doesn't make my skin dry and tight, and it's lovely feeling and gentle, yet efficient. What a gem. I will buy again, and most likely buy some back-ups. I also use this product on my skin in the morning for just regular cleaning to get a fresh-feeling face to start the day!
