I love The Body Shop, both the products and its responsible trade concept but not sure about the Kabuki brush I bought. I have a TBS retractable powder brush eyeshadow brushes and the former has been with me for 6 years so I sort of have an idea how great their brushes were but the kabuki one is a flop for me. Maybe I'm just not used to using kabuki brushes at all. The lack of handle made it hard to control how I swirl the brush on my face when dispersing products on my face. This makes my application a bit uneven and extra work is needed to work everything on the face. That being said, I thought the way the brush was constructed was fantastic.

I like this. Bought a second one after the first broke but managed to glue it back so now I have 2.
Not as dense as the TBS mineral kabuki brush but works well. Soft and doesn't hurt my sensitive eczema skin. Hasn't shed a hair and I've had them for years. I rotate 4 kabuki brushes so I can clean (bacteria!!) and use them regularly.

The Body Shop actually calls this brush the "Sun Luster Brush". It's rather pricey at just over $23 CAD, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I am quite pleased I did - the hairs (synthetic) are incredibly soft, more so then any brush I own. They recommend this for use with their bronzer but I actually use it with my MAC MSF in Soft & Gentle.
I find S&G a little to glittery usually, but because this brush isn't dense or rough, it doesn't collect so much product. Which could be a negative or positive.. depends on what you're looking for! I think it's great for adding a highlighter/bronzer and blending the two. And even as a blush brush I found it satisfactory! I like the it has a bit of a wider bottom bit, so it sits upwards steadily and the packaging is nice. I would repurchase, but hopefully won't need to anytime soon!

This brush is SO soft! I bought it many years ago and still in perfect condition. I won`t need back up:). Perfect for appliying powder and bronzer lightly and blending blush and contour colours together. I found it dense enough to apply liquid fndn too. For powder fndns Elf studio powder brush is better. Golden handle is pretty.

this brush is amazingly soft,it works well with foundations and loose powders, cleans very well also, the only problem i have had is it came away from the handle but we just superglued it back together, would repurchase if needed, softer than any of my mac face brushes.

This is a great brush. I bought it together with the Honey Bronzer from The Body Shop. They had a promotion, so it was a bit cheaper. I guess the price is the only slightly negative thing about this brush. Otherwise it's great, very soft, very dense and absolutely no shedding whatsoever.
I use it for a lot of things, creme foundation, mineral powder foundation and bronzer/blush. The size is great because it means I can carry it around in my make-up bag. One time I accidentally pulled the zipper of the bag over the brush and the whole thing was a bit deformed for one day, but to my surprise after one day it turned back to the same shape as before. I would repurchase for sure!

I really lucked out when I got this last year. It was on clearance to begin with, and if you bought a bag, there was an additional 50% off. I think I paid about $5 total for the brush. It's a very soft brush with densely packed bristles, perhaps not as dense as the MAC Kabuki, but still impressive. I use it for my foundation (oily skinned girl here, can't do the liquid stuff lol) and mineral veil. It works wonders.

OK so yea I'm not saying anything new, but I thought I'd review just to add a five more MUCH DESERVED LIPPIES!!!
You don't know soft until you use this brush. I hear other people exclaiming about different brushes and how soft they are, and they are, I have them too and they're soft don't get me wrong. But THIS is the softest brush I've ever felt. Wow. I use it for powder to set my foundation/tinted moisturizer and my bare minerals mineral veil and it works perfectly. I'm so in love with this brush, I want to go home and rub it all over my FACE! hahaha yea that's creepy but seriously go feel it in a store and buy it, now! :)

LOVE this brush!! I use this to apply finishing powder but I also want to take it out with me in the purse so I'm trying to find a real powder brush with long handle to use at home but I just can't find anything that's as soft as this one. I've been using it daily for about 3 months and it never sheds. Not even one hair fell out, well not that I know of.
TBS certain makes great brushes.

I loooove this kabuki! It's so incredibly soft! It says on the packaging that is a bronzer brush, but I originaly bought this to apply my powder foundation. This does work but only if you want really light coverage as the brush is not very dense. I found I had to try too hard to get the coverage I wanted. I can't blame the brush though, as it was not intended for this use anyway! So I bought the other (much denser) TBS mineral foundation kabuki for my powder foundation. Now I use this kabuki for my setting powder and it works very well for that. It picks up the right amount of product and it distrubutes it evenly. And it's just so amazingly soft that it is a pleasure to swirl it around my face.
It hasn't shed a hair since I got it and I washed it a couple of times. It has a very luxurious look to it with the gold handle and it's own base. Certainly a pleasure to look at.
I also like that it is synthetic hair not only because I love animals, but also because animal hair usually stings my face after a while.
I think the price is right for what you get. Love the brush, would buy again.

I just bought the new kabuki brush from TBS along with the mineral foundation, and i fell inlove with the TBS kabuki brush. It is extremely soft and i can't explain how soft it is.
I would actually recommend this brush to anyone who first starts using a foundation kabuki brush. The SOFTEST brush i've ever used.
I love it :)

...Or I guess otherwise known as Golden Kabuki Bronzing Brush. I love this brush in my collection. Got a great deal on it (1/2 price) and I love using it – SUPER soft and compact and stands up on it's own base.
