This is an awesome alternative to flat black eyeliner. It has an olive-green-gold tone that is really flattering on warm skintones. Lasting power is great, consistency is creamy and easy to apply...what more could you ask for? Maybe a better name, "black line" doesn't do it justice. Hah

Pearlglides are my HG eyeliners! They stay on my waterline through 12 hour nightshifts, including naps (on my breaks....I'm no slacker). Yeah, I needed one touch up, so I'd say that it looks fresh for about 4-5 hours or so, which is pretty good since I wear contacts and have watery eyes. I have tried many HE types of eyeliners, and I have never had an eyeliner stay on my waterline for more than an hour so this is a breakthrough for me :), It applies like butter, super creamy, no tugging at all. Blackline is a unique, beautiful colour. Black with gold shimmer, very pretty and universally flattering.

This is my first Pearlglide Eyeliner, and it certainly won’t be my last! Black Line is a black-ish color packed with tarnished golden shimmer. It has good pigmentation and lasts all day or night on my eyes. It has an incredibly creamy texture, which makes it better for the lower lash line. On the upper lash line I always end up pressing too hard and putting too much liner on. I love to use Black Line with green-gold shadows like Sumptuous Olive and NARS Night Clubbing. I’m really happy that MAC decided to make these permanent.

First look, I thought this is a dark olive colored eyeliner and was wondering why it is called “Black Line”. On a closer look, it is actually black with golden shimmer (and bits of green), making it almost khaki. The black actually looks a little brownish. It is unique (my first time seeing black liner with gold sparks) and I am actually looking forward to wearing it out on my khaki green eyeshadow ^^

so disappointed. i loved the colour on my hand, but after i purchased it and used it on my waterline, my eyes felt irritated and i had to remove it. :( i've never had this with any other mac glittery eye liner before!

Love this. Perfect name -- because it glides and is pearlized. Very subtle though. This shade has been well described by others (black with traces of gold and green --you'd have to look real close though to see the colors/glitter). This is probably just me/my technique, but my little complaint is that this is almost so soft that it's hard for me to wing it out at the end -- I can do that with liquid liner, or with MAC's eye khol but somehow am having a hard time with this. I hope this line is permanent. (May pick up the brown shade as well, even though it looks very close to Teddy--Teddy is a bit "redder" brown).

I rarely write reviews anymore being a new Mom but I LOVE this eyeliner. It's highly pigmented and glides on smooth like a dream. The colour is a perfect black-dark brown with hints of gold specks. I would say this is a HG colour for me and I alternate between this and grey utility as I don't have time for gel liners anymore. My only complaints are that it doesn't sit well on the lower waterline for me and kinda smudges so I need to do some cleanup below the lashes. Also, the pencil is super soft so you use up a lot of product when you sharpen it which hasn't been a problem with other MAC liners I had. I thought this was limited edition as I bought it at the CCO but saw that they sell it in the stores so I will be repurchasing for sure!

An absolutely gorgeous eyeliner, Black Line is black with an olivey tinge and very fine golden glitter. Personally I think this looks great applied thickly and smuged out but you have to work quickly because once this sets, which only takes a few seconds, it really stays put. It's definitely a smudge-proof eyeliner, impressively so! MAC's constant limited edition collections are honestly too much for me and I don't really go for them most of the time, but these are definitely worth a look whenever they're next released!

This is the only liner in pencil shape that I like, I have tried UD 24/7, Guerlain´s Loose Kohl and so many others, but always go back to this one. It lasts AGES on my waterline and tightline, ok, I put on several coats of this and don´t worry about the edges smudging a little bit, it makes it all even more sexy-messy... The color on me is basically black with some gold sparkles and some olive green, which brings out the green bits in my brown eyes. Warning: this is too sultry, too gorgeous, too flirty, this makes let-me-get-you-a-drink-please-please kind of eyes...

I love this pencil. So smooth! so pigmented!! The color give to my eyes a very special glow! Is not black! Is more like a golden, darken grey, almost antique color... if that makes sence. It does last on my waterline like 16 hours... its amazing. I don't know what the f*uck to do when I can't buy it anymore!!!

I had the original pearlglides and had high expectations for this eyeliner.

I guess the original black russian pearlglide spoiled me from future black eyeliners because I didn't see anything too special with this eyeliner.

The eyeliner ended up not being my problem, and I LOVE THIS eyeliner. Black usually doesn't work for me because it comes on too harsh, but this does. It doesn't make my eye small...the color is beautiful! Now I feel like I can't live w/o it but its not sold anymore. I am so sad :( Its a blackish (faint gold), doesn't tug at the eye, and long lasting.
edit*
I really loved the color when I tried it on my hands, but on my eyes they just looked like black with glitter. I wear contact lens and these are definitely not contact lens friendly...or eye friendly. Every time I remove them, glittery or gold specks get all over my face--even after I do a facial mask, it still doesn't get completely off. Ever since I started wearing this eyeliner, my eyes have been dilating...and I suspect maybe it has to do with the intense amount of glitter...even though it isn't really that big of a deal when you apply it on your lids. If you touch your eye, it smudges very easily even with primer, like a kohl eyeliner...Pro is that it comes on easily/smoothly and the color stays well. I never used it w/o primer. Anyways I am going to try to return this and get a color w/o the gold specks I fell in love with :( I tried glittery eyeliners before, and have been wearing the ones from Urban Decay for years, but never had this problem. Btw this is my first time trying MAC's eye pencil eyeliners.
edit*
Wore it again today, didn't return it yet...however, noticed glitter all over my eye area by the end of the day :( The color did not fade though and it went on well...however the glitter is all over the place. And today it didn't irritate my eyes. So I am on the fence about returning it. The glitter is painful to deal with.

THis is my fav eye liner for now. Glides on easily, great pigmentation, long lasting and versatile (goes with many looks). Does not smudge or bleed into lines (I have these small wrinkles under the lower lash line). This goes FAB with MAC es Club, Bronze and any intense green es (e.g. Humid, Swimming). Works with brown eye look too! Absolute luv.

i thought i would love this color... and while i do really like it, i absolutely love Lord it Up more.
The formula on these are super creamy... a little too creamy to get a precise thin line imo which is pretty much the only downside to this product. it is extremely long wearing and stays on all day long. i've tried UD 24/7 liners, MUFE's aqua eyes, Mac's powerpoint, revlon colorstay liners, stilas eye kajal, and the pearlglides are by far better in staying power. they don't even need to be set with eyeshadow... it just stays put all day long. 10 hours, no problem.
i want these in every color

Really like the Black line so far. It is basically a greenish black with gold glitter. Very pretty. The pearlglide formula goes on so smooth and really stays put. This is certainly a favorite!

I never thought I would like a "black" eye liner but this one really stands out. I agree with other reviews that say it is a gold/green/black fusion. I don't think the green hue is too overwhelming. On my pale skin it still reads mainly black with shimmer. When I wear this during the day I go over it with a gold liner just to soften the black a little more. At night I leave it as is. As long as I apply my UDPP I have no issues with smearing/smuding for at least 12 hours of wear. I've already bought myself a backup!

So beautiful! I'm so glad I picked it up.. I haven't used much yet though because I don't want to use this limited edition product all up! It's black with green and gold shimmer. Looks good with my olive skin. It's perfect for a winged eyeliner look, and the MA at MAC also suggested that I use it as a base if I feel daring. It looks good with a brighter green like Juxt.

OMG, this liner is AMAZING!!! Black Line is limited edition and is a gel black liner in pencil form with gold glitter. It can be smudged for a smokey look but work quickly because once it dries, it's on your eye for good. My MAC MA used this on me as a base and used MAC Gilt By Association with this. It looks gorgeous and had a slight antiqued green look to it. Great look for a night out with some lashes!

I love pearlglides, and this color really brings out my green eyes. Like a reviewer below said, its a blackened green with gold glitter, very pretty. I was told when I purchased this that it is not for the waterline, the glitter will irritate your eyes. I like the mac sharpener for these, since the product is so soft it's hard to sharpen with my other pencil sharpener. You can use this as a eyeshadow base, just smuge it onto your lid.
